They said that they weren’t working on templates.

They promised us PVP MMO woth some PVE content, but after 3 years, i didnt see any PVP or even PVE content. Just boring grind… There is no raids or expert dungeons.
I’d love to see where you read this promise because not only they have never promised anything like this but if there’s one thing that was clear is that GW2 was going to be more focused on PvE right from the start, as opposed to GW1 which was focused on PvP first then changed to PvE when they figured out people played PvE more than PvP.
They are 100% avoidable by getting in melee range of the trasher.
Whats the uk equivalent time for the test?
-7 hours I think?
So 5 to 7 then 10 to 12
I would start with Sea of Sorrow. Then Ghosts of Ascalon and Edge of Destiny last.
I wonder if they fixed this “exploit” in the spider guild rush
The only consistent way I manage to avoid this with RTL is to not hold any of the mouse buttons until the skills animation is done.
I wish we could cook them
1k Influence = 2g
It’s useful but not all that important.
I would still prefer to spend that 2 gold on my personal guild rather than on an active guild with already 2million influence.
XP boosters are helpful to level up. Since we get 10 with the deluxe edition I say you should at least use one or two to level up this character. But since you’re 15, I would wait until your 30 or 40 because I personally found those level the most boring. Like in every games, the mid level feels longer.
You can use the chalice of glory right away but on march 13th there will be a daily for PvP rank points. Using it then would give you the achievement and a reward
The golem banker last for 2 week after the first use. So as long as you don’t use it, it’ll sit in your inventory. Also every character you have or create will get one.
The Tome of Influence will give points to a guild. Active guild can make those easily so if later you create yourself a personal guild and want to level up for personal guild storage space, the influence can greatly help you since soloing a guild can be very long. So I would personally keep it for that but you see what you think is best. Make sure you represent a guild before using it though or I think it will still consume it but without giving the influence to anything.
If GW2 had a trinity, it would just become another wow clone and die as fast as all of them.
There plenty of trinity game already. There’s only one that is even worth playing and it is WoW simply because it’s the biggest and most complete of them all. All other Trinity games on the market right now are less popular than GW2 in western countries. Except maybe SW:ToR.
The fact that people almost never have to change gear in min-maxed runs, not even between multiple damage-oriented sets, is very telling of how much Arenanet has failed to make their PvE be a “play whatever you want”.
Of course, it’s basic logic
Not being forced into certain armors so that we can do all content the way we want is the proof that arenanet has failed to make pve “play how you want”
i miss to play other ROLE like i’ve done in other games
Then play other games with those roles. You people’s lives sound so complicated.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mystic_Salvage_Kit
Should always have one of these along with copper fed salvage o matic to make your life more enjoyable
Just remove your weapons and equip nomad armor and you wont do DPS at all anymore.
That’s great. Thanks.
Drop from enemies
Do they drop though? I’ve gotten quite a few keys through map completion, some through personal story but I don’t think I ever got one through random drops. o.o
I got 1 from drop in all the time I have played.
It was about 6 months ago, from one of those annoying little poison spitting spiders in Spider Queen room in AC.
Gemstore
Personal Story (lv 10 and a few other)
The LS story mission “Into the Labyrinth”
Map Completion
Login Reward
Drop from enemies
This will hurt Solo a lot more than groups.
If the defience bar does not scale with the number of players in dungeons then bosses will be impossible to CC solo. There won’t be enough spike cc from 1 player to drain the bar and it will regen with time. I like this change because dungeons were not designed for be completed solo anyway. An example of this is cof p1 where you need 5 to activate the orbs and kill the controller.
Not sure why you thought I meant dungeons. There are champions all over the world too and they all have defiance.
This will hurt Solo a lot more than groups.
What server are you on?
Maybe your server have a website you can go to and try to organize a wvw exploration group for everyone who don’t want to go alone.
Or you can ask in pve and wvw map chat too. “anyone want to do some wvw map completion together?”
If you’re a group, you’ll have more confidence if you cross path with enemies than if you were alone.
I usually starts with my borderland, then only do the places my server owns.
If you have 2 monitors or a tablet or something, keep this open http://wvwintel.com/ to your server so you always know what you can go capture.
Also wvw mapping should be started as soon as possible to avoid being stuck with only that left.
Mesmer with Harmonious Mantra and Mender’s Purity traits with the skills Mantra of Recovery, Mantra of Resolve, Nullfield and Arcane Thievery.
That would be a little over the top though.

You can be viable in the game, doing nothing but supportive deeds. Heck, if I join an event with my supportive build, you can easily observe how players drop less.
But neither the reward-system of the game nor the meta-crazed kind of players will notice that. All that’s registered is the dps.
I do low dps on a champion, because I chose to keep a glassy thief on his feet with the water-attunement? Green bag.
Even better: Besaid thief turns around, thanks me for the rez and then says I do kitten low dps.
Why are you locking yourself into a single role in a game that was specifically created against that?
Support is needed but you’re making yourself as useful as only one third of another player who could also do some DPS and some CC along with the Support.
read this.

Yes hardcore synergy, customization and promotion of stats.
I say all stats should be removed from all equipment.
Each class keep their base stats (like when completely nude) and that’s it.

Shocked to see people stand up for the stale meta of this game. Dungeons in this game could be SO much more.
Forget the trinity. Just make more playstyles viable. Wanna hybrid support/DPS? Go for it. Wanna hybrid tank/heal? Go for it. Wanna hybrid range/melee DPS? Go for it.
Forget trinity. Forget that garbage that WoW put into your mind. Go back to the classic RPG’s, where imagination was king, and the only limit was our own ideas.
We don’t need the trinity, but we also need a game that allows something besides “STRAIGHT DPS D00D” to be viable. Otherwise, the PvE will continue to suffer and be extremely bland.
The only people who use straight DPS are here asking for diversity and trinity.
Lets take the thrasher-champ at the Vinewrath for example. If a guardian drops down a reflective wall or a mesmer drops this projectile-absorbing dome on the thrasher, it’s a great contribution to the success of the event. Buuut: It’s no dps.
The game doesn’t even reward you some xp for it, while you get the killing-xp for popping the spore-blisters.I’d like the game to actually reward those supportive actions.
The game should account for everything from cc’s to heals.
If it is just about DPS why does the mangler fail so many time?
DPS is easy no?
hate to break it to yah but the original GW, try to do DPS-only and you’ll die in seconds, i say GW2 became so braindead even veteran players forgot how to play.
oh and try it in ESO, you’ll die before you can even kill one single enemy.
all MMORPG’s you say?
Hate to break it for yah but the original GW had no tank mechanic either. People found out how to use the aggro range to have a tank. They loaded a class with damage avoiding skills, sent him ahead to grab everything while all DPS would attack from the limit of aggro circle.
You should be happy to know that you can do this totally not braindead technique in GW2 too. Get someone with super high toughness to go in first then do your dps from the range limit of your skills. Unless the enemy has ranged skills that can touch you, you’ll be totally safe. Otherwise you may need to use some sort of braindead technic like using some utilities to block those attacks. Or even need to dodge, but that would be cheating.

Here’s how it is for me with lava font and static field.
I also have the game installed since launch
Control has always been very useful in pve
Is this sarcastic because I can’t tell
What make you think I’m sarcastic?
Unshakeable, Stack&smack tactics…
Basically, Control has always been the weakest of the roles in PvE. DPS everyone knows and Support is also very powerful. Control…not so much. Basically just Guardian GS5 to save time rounding up trash.
Unshakeable just mean you have to use even more control and time them more carefully and use actual group organization to deal with it instead of just throwing CC left and right without actual reason.
Sure it’s harder when everyone is just soloing together but in group it’s not such a big issue.
Control has always been very useful in pve
Is this sarcastic because I can’t tell
What make you think I’m sarcastic?
I’ve always used control skills in GW2 and everyone I play with does so too.
Sure maybe some classes have less than other but I main mesmer and ele and they have plenty for every situations.
(edited by Haishao.6851)
Control has always been very useful in both pve and pvp. I don’t see why it would be different in HoT.
Like I said, it’s not ABOUT the money, it’s about feeling like you aren’t taken for granted. And a small, pittance amount of coin can be a good way to convey that. Some people tip, some people say thanks, some people do both…and some people do nothing, and that kind of bugs me more than perhaps it should. Not enough to actually say something to them about it, mind you, but enough for my inner monologue to be like “…ingrate.” as they accept a port and then just silently run off.
You’re trading your portal for their gratitude but you let them think it is a gift. You should tell them first, before porting, that you expect them to compliment or tip you for your service.
The Rare Regalia Collection gives 1 lesser vision crystal.
So that’s -1 to craft, although you’ll need to craft (or buy) other things for the collection.
You spent 4 days trying not to waste 1 minute of your so precious time on a small event that is part of the LS?
Sounds like a tragedy.

The storyline and characters aren’t fleshed out enough to warrant a movie. They would definitely have to expand on certain parts of the lore (such as the Pale Tree possibly being a champion of the jungle dragon), improve certain characters (Trahearne, namely), and slow the pace down into multiple movies to warrant a film adaptation.
But they could make movies from the books.
True enough, but only Ghosts of Ascalon was good enough to make a good movie, IMO. I loved the character of Dougal Keane and was extremely disappointed in the fact that you can’t go on adventures with him.
I think sea of sorrow could make a pretty good pirates vs undead movie.
I’d like to see:
- An option to have heterochromia eyes (one brown, one green) for a more unique look
Female human
Bearbow or ponythief
Max boob size
Lowest height
3rd face from 1st row
Cultural t3
get hair kit and use flower hair dyed pink or blue
Heterochromia Blue/Red or blue/green
As unique as everyone that looks the same
(edited by Haishao.6851)
The PvE meta is berserker or GTFO, unfortunately. WvW and PvP are more varied, but you often see pure berserker builds there, too.
The only place where Berzerker’s is meta is in Dungeon & Fractal Speed Runs.
You don’t have to do speed run if you don’t want to. You can complete every dungeons with whatever gears or build you want.
World Boss meta is Soldier’s and there’s no meta for general openworld content.
(edited by Haishao.6851)
I still wish they had used Aion character creator and make slider less strong to avoid most of the atrocities we could create by putting all sliders to 0 or 100.
You’re missing a couple vistas in WvW
You have to have all PoI, Vistas, Skills, Waypoints and Renown Hearts
The only one that don’t counts are the one in Southsun Cove, Dry Top and Silverwastes
I think the combat mastery will probably be something similar to the Lightbringer title in GW1.
We’ll still be able to fight champion and stuff, just that by maxing this mastery we’ll have certain utilities and bonus that helps us do so.
Like being holy lightbringer and using lightbringer’s gaze on a margonite.
What would you want to do as end game?
I used to have rune of the pack a while ago.
With the trait warden feedback I could outrun centaurs until temporal curtain was ready again.
they should make a thunderhead keep fractal
The content is so easy that it let you avoid almost all the dmg, by the simple fact that you kill the boss so fast it wont be able to kill you.
That’s clearly cheating.
You should only be able to kill thing after you’re dead.
Instead of suggesting me to go and do something else, suggest them to change the game.
Why should Anet change their game because you want to play something different?
You can easily go play something different.
Do you see what they did there? this is a role playing game and you have one role for pve.
YOU play 1 role.
I play at least 3.
GW2 combat is only a new concept to MMO games.
Go play Borderland for example and you’ll have the same kind of combat idea.
Damage, Control and Support. Where everyone do lots of damage along with some support and control. Class like Soldier are better with support while other class like Siren are better with control but in the end both do lots of damage because that’s what gets rid of enemies HP.
Technically GW2 shouldn’t have stats at all.
Although having defensive stats allow anet to keep their promise that everyone would be able to play all content regardless of their personal skills.

Here’s the part where he talks about the area.
