Can someone upload the trailer on youtube?
Video never worked since launch for me on gw2 website.
That’s exploiting people who agree being exploited, not a bug in the game.
People are free to leave and I find surprising that he even have people other than his friends in his guild.
20 plat in gw1 was nothing at all…
20 platinum in gw1 was more than the price of full set of max armor.
You could buy dyes from Merchants in GW1. Black dye was about 8-9p… Just saying.
And we could only use it once on one piece of armor. So it was 40+ platinum to dye one set armor. And we had to keep it that color for ever because changing color meant more money to spend.
Since we could also mix dye to get more color, It could require 20 bottles to dye a set of armor. If there was black, white or silver in the mix, it would cost a small fortune.
Now we buy it once and we have it forever on our character.

the amount of loading doesn’t bother me as much as the time it takes to load.
our character probably save much more information on every maps compared to other mmo where they save none other than position.

this?
Update:
Cliffside: Fixed an issue where the Cultists would not reset correctly on party wipe at scale 10+ in the final boss fight.
Changed certain player transformations to not remove Trait related stat boosts when active.
The weapons obtained by Bandit Cutpurses by their “Steal” skill should now appropriately be used up when they use the skill the weapon grants.
I wish they would make guild similar to how they work in most other games, that you have to join with each of your characters.
If someone wanted to make a guildless character, they couldn’t. Characters are tracked by guild even if you aren’t representing. Once you have a friend or guild, you cannot have “anonymity” in game anymore. even the invisible option doesn’t really work. Login in from the launcher show that you’re online ingame, then when you enter the game it tells your friends that you’ve come online, and if you go invisible it still track your location in friend and guild list.
By the way I’m looking for a group right now, whats the website everyone is using I forgot to save it.

Welcome to games
I love Malchor’s leap. It’s my favorite orr map and this is where I play when I’m alone.
You probably just need better organization. Everything in GW2 can be done with a party of 5 or lower.
Exaggeration much? No you can’t 5 man “Everything”.
What cannot be done with 5 people?
1. Headstart
2. about 700 hours
3. 30 gold in bank right now. I probably had a total of 100 gold.
4. 3
5. none in particular
6. no
7. no
8. no
9. 2
10. none
11. 1
12. 3 maxed craft
13. after full collection (250) I sell them
14. somehow
15. Loot
(in more than 1 word) Loot need to be static to monsters and everything need a real use instead of random trash dropped by everything that only serve to create gold. Right now there’s too many items and 99% of them are only used to be sold to npc to create money or salvaged to get material.
Exactly.
Which is what is funny, if ascended had been a thing since release people wouldn’t even bat an eyelash. Suddenly it’s added a little late and everyone screams gear treadmill.
It’s not funny. It’s normal.
If ascended had been here from the start, Exotic wouldn’t have been max armor. People wouldn’t have aimed for exotic to complete their character and start playing. Just like how normal people don’t go around trying to get the best rare for their level, because they know that when they are leveling, they will replace this rare in a few hours, and when they are 80, they would be better off going for exotic since it is(was) max.
They waited until the majority of player had their max armor to introduce the new max set, which is exactly what a treadmill is. You think you’ve reached the end just to be forced to start running again, because the end is not there, and probably never will because it’s always just a little bit further. Everytime you’re about to get to it, it go a little bit further.

You should hate yourself for gambling your money. Not Arenanet.

Directsong are thieves
I bought GW1 sound track with bonus for the game and could never download them even after many email with them. They finally sorted it out around when EotN came out. I didn’t even bother downloading it because i already had it from somewhere else.
I ordered Skyrim soundtrack for my friend for last Christmas as soon as it released. They charged me right away but I still never recieved it. I emailed them a few time and, like you, never got reply.
In my last mail I told them I give up. That they should keep my money preciously because I would get the music I want where i’m sure they wont get paid.
They finally replied that they were very sorry and it must have been an error and they are sending the soundtrack. That was last time I heard of them. This was last time they see my money too.
I think Arenanet should completely remove invulnerability from GW2.
They are verrrrry large, you have been warned.
I miss the HR screenshot option
Might as well play nude.
White is only slightly better than without armor anyway.
If you don’t have all legendary and ascended, then you’re far from being anything close to hardcore
work harder.
they should make a Trahearne hugging Kormir statue
there’s these

You posted a link to official response and ask them official response?
Even if they wanted to ban you for such “mod” they would need to be sitting next to you and look at your screen to even know you use them.
Transmute it to a runeless white, add a cheap rune, then transmute it to high level one.
I had to do that for a pair of shoes I had and it worked fine.
Abyss > Black > Pitch
Ouch… I am now in need of some very serious dev input.
Based on the comments above, as well as Anthony Ordon’s post (see https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/archive/halloween/Are-the-Halloween-skins-permament/first#post512016), I placed the ghastly grinning shield appearance on a shield with the expectation that I could transmute the appearance to another shield if needed. I have been trying to confirm the feasibility of this, and have been getting negative results. I am able to put the now grinning shield in the “from” box, but the “item transmutation” button is grayed out when I place another shield in the “to” box.
Anthony, if you are listening, please help. Your post, like the posts of others above, suggests that the grinning shield visage should be transmutable to other shields.
Item transmutation is not automatic. You have to select the look, the stats, and upgrade you want on the final item in the window.
Here’s a video that shows how http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYaJ1bVsiSA
I’m not a huge fan of it either, but sometimes i comes down to not enough people thinking like that to make it viable.
But GW1 never had gear treadmill to keep people interested and happy and GW1 is the second best selling MMORPG of all time, right behind WoW. And one of the best selling PC game too.
GW2 will never be, because they decided that they should be more like WoW. They’ll go down to the rank of crappy wow clone grind fest. Like every other Nexon games.
(edited by Haishao.6851)
All those complaints are good complaints but are not something you can fix in a patch or 2. It will take at least one expansion to start filling in those holes so were looking at a year or 2.
In the mean time the need something and that is the problem
Gear grinding is also the fastest way to keep players busy while they work on other things. They are also the easiest players to keep happy.
Sure makes people happy, Look at this thread for example.
This is the most lazy and stupid decision i’ve seen arenanet take since 2004.
There’s thousand of thing they could have done to keep people happy and playing without adding this stupid gear progression. Take Fractal dungeon for example. This dungeon by itself without ascended crap seems to be fun enough to keep people busy for a few months.
They also adjusted drop for lower maps and raised reward in dungeons. Those are two things people have been asking that also add some longevity without the need to add a kitten gear treadmill.
They added new skins, but decided to put them in those kitten Nexon RNG boxes. To make sure that there are more angry people than happy.
This update would have been more than enough for 2 or 3 month even without that kitten gear treadmill.
GW2 need to sell expansion to survive, they certainly wont sell one to me with these stupid decisions.
no they cannot be transfered.
Best would be to go see a heart npc, and spend your karma on stuff you can use on all your characters, such as raw food in bulk.
If you had read the forum you’d had about over a thousand suggestion as to what can replace grind.
New dungeons, new events, better combat than 1 million HP bosses, new monsters, new regions, new story, new quests, new item skin, new craft recipe, mini games, new pvp mode, new collection items
I want monster that are harder to kill because of their AI and mechanics instead of their damage and HP that requires me to go farm an armor to then faceroll it like the rest of the game.
Farming is like botting manually. It achieve the same, Just at a much slower pace.
As long as the game let us create new money and that 90% of items have no other use than creating money, I think farming should be kept to a minimum.
Just like money sink are needed to avoid people getting too much money.
It’s a stupid system, but it’s the one they decided they wanted.
I wish there was no UI at all.
Everytime I have done a jumping puzzle, it was for the puzzle itself. Not the reward.
I would have done them all even if they didn’t had a chest.
The reward for them shouldn’t be that good exactly for the reason that not everyone love doing them. You’re not forced to do them. If you are too bad to jump or just don’t want to do it, don’t.
(edited by Haishao.6851)
I remember wanting the cowl and shoulder from it. But found out it was made from mystic forge with pvp stuff.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/PvP_Wizard_armor
Hard to tell.
People tend to find mesmer boring until lv 20 or 30. Which is somewhat true but I guess it must depend on what weapon you use. Sword/pistol might make low levels more interesting.
I think that if bosses and chest didn’t give the same disposable merchant trash like every other trash mob, people would have felt more rewarded from the beginning.
Here’s a few things I can think off the top of my head to keep the game interesting without the need of gear progression.
- New dungeons. This Fractal dungeon concept seem good on its own without needing to add gear progression
- New monster type
- New maps
- New Events
- New world events like dragons and events chain similar to temples in Orr
- Mega events that could last weeks and affect a complete region of the world. (temple prove that they can affect more than one map)
- Better, more memorable champion fight that actually have skills other than Strong attack #1, fear and strong attack #2.
- More mini (and some less mini) dungeons like Fort of Rhand and Provernic Crypt.
- Challenge to acquire/unlock emotes (emotes could even be reward of mini dungeons/jumping puzzles instead of random items)
- More quests like the Halloween Scavenger Hunt
- Optional, more traditional, pre-WoW style quests for town clothes (there’s 1 so far.. we need a lot more)
- Those Mini games that are still not there. Cities were supposed to be place we want to go to with things to do. I don’t remember wanting to go anywhere else than LA after 100% a city. Unless I needed personal story or cultural armor/weapon
- Duel
- GvG
- More PvP game mode.
- Unique items skins that drop from certain bosses only (like greens in GW1)
- Reason to go back to old low level maps (unique skins would already help this a bit)
- Reason to party with people. Such as karma, money and exp boost for each party member.
- Fishing
- More titles
- New skill combo. I think they should greatly reduce skill effect, but boost combo effect and make majority of skills able to combo with others for various effect. This would make the game more interesting, It would also make fighting in group a lot better than just an epileptic nightmare.
- Open Coliseum where people can register to face challenge against fearsome beasts once a week. People who didn’t register to participate can be spectator, and bet on fight just before they start. It should be extremely challenging (other than just infinite HP and damage) and have limited registration entry, to make it a weekly event. Like a real coliseum. Reward could be money and unique looking armor and weapon skins unavailable anywhere else than this.
- Slayer Achievement could change to act more like a monster encyclopedia where we acquire information on each monster by killing them. Each time we kill a monster we could have a chance of getting an information such as its HP, skill it uses, where it is found, bits of lore related to it, what it drop. Having 100% of the information on a given monster race could give us a tonic recipe to craft, using some items that these monsters drop. Or like in Atlantica Online, raise drop rate of this monster and make these bits of information tradable with other player to make more community interaction and reduce grind for to people who hate it.
- Special quests from our chosen order (similar to guild quests in TES). Orders are so useless right now, it’s sad.
- One thing that GW has better than a lot of other MMO is lore. In GW1 EotN we had small books for dungeons and missions and for the baby moa quest. They should add similar books all over the place in GW2, and make a collection tab and achievement and title related to them. Instead of just being a resume of what the book is about, they should let us read them, collect them and keep them. We could even have tier for book. Common, uncommon and rare (like in TES). They could even get amateur writers to write a few. have song books, poem books, story book, children books, Asura science books. It could be whatever. Collecting every books was my favorite thing in every Elder Scrolls game.
There’s probably a million more thing than gear grinding to make a game fun to keep playing.

I created this thread to understand what you guys are really looking for. GW1 had these new armor upgrades (I forget the name).
By upgrade you mean insignia?
They weren’t upgrade to the previous armor. All it did was to take the stats of those armor and make it into an insignia instead of directly built into the armor. So it became easier to mix and match sets and create the armor with the look and stats we wanted.
Pretty much like the insignia we use to craft right now in GW2, just that they were added after item creation instead of during the process.
Obviously both at the same time
All of my friends who don’t already play didn’t want to play. Most of them say they heard too many bad about the game so they don’t want to bother.
Butterflies flies from flower to flower, just like a mesmer do with enemies.
The butterfly can mimicry. So are mesmer (more directly in GW1)
We get butterfly in our stomach because of excitement and nervousness, which we can imagine is the feeling of people when facing a mesmer. Also well known mesmers were actors (Althea and Norgu for example) and having butterfly in the stomach before an act is very common.
The Butterfly Effect is part of chaos theory. The example in the theory is a butterfly flapping its wing on one side of the earth causing a hurricane on the other side. Mesmer do that in combat (more so in GW1). Little effect that seem meaningless at first but has great impact on turning of event. Interrupting a spell in GW1 could lead to a complete change of battle for example.
Butterflies can metamorphose, which still fit with acting and could also be represented by mesmer wearing masks.
Butterfly is named Psyche in old greek, which is also the word for Mind
Butterflies often represent freedom and Mesmer is one of the more “free” profession by being able to go to front, middle and back line with more ease than other (more so in GW1 since now everyone can)
Butterflies always seems to fly in a chaotic way and it’s very hard to tell where they will go or what they will do. You often only find out at the last moment, like with mesmer.
Butterflies have often been source of inspiration.
There’s probably more.

Maybe they fully added it in then. I had mine set ever since so I don’t know
They should really add an option for different FoV.
Just remove the line you added to shortcut.
If the game was about progressing and building a character, like in Ragnarok Online for example, then progression would be great.
But now it’s about endgame and progression is only a waste of time that everyone want to go through as quick as possible to go reach end game.
Level and armor tier are completely useless in game like GW2. They should concentrate into making the game fun and more challenging instead of adding meaningless progression that everyone want to skip.
I hate him because he get to play with that sword when I got it taken from me after 1 mission.
I doubt status is refreshed every second so i don’t think it would be possible to know.
They announce new build and that we’ll be kicked in 3 minutes. New build takes 3 seconds to download (this one did at least) so we’re back in game before the 3 minutes limit has passed most of the time.
You knew for the very start what game where you buying, why the rage now :S
I know I bought a game that announced no gear progression.
LFM Fractal ppl w/o Ascend need not apply
That’s how it’s going to affect people.
Could care less about Fractal, kthnxbye.
How am I affected now?
Not everyone buy games to not care about its content and not play it like you do.
Because the core devs that created GW1 without the gear gate content left ANet a long time ago.
Where are they now?
they are there: http://undeadlabs.com/
Mursaat had a spell named Spectral Agony in GW1. It was a special monster skill that could not be removed by hex removal.
We fought Mursaat only after being Ascended when following the story and we had to infuse our armor to greatly reduce its damage. It was practically impossible to survive through Spectral Agony without infused armor.
Maybe we’ll see mursaat soon.
