I found it absolutely amazing. Its size and complexity are spectacular.
My friend and I spent about 3 hours going everywhere and we really enjoyed it. The skritts were also really good and made me laugh a few time.
The chest at the end bugged for us. It said something about missing 1 or more milestones although we had the achievement. Activating the chest a second time gave us the items.
Very impressive work.
This is my new favorite place in the game.
Another +1 from me, OP.
Not that this is the first time we’ve dealt with this sort of thing. ANet loves their gimmicky “toolkit” design a little too much.
And hopefully keep to it. It’s fun for people who likes to play videogames.
I enjoyed these missions. The Asura lab stealth game was well thought and the last boss was fun.
Is she saying that lore doesn’t matter?
I think she’s saying lore shouldn’t need to be dumped into every two sentences of npc dialogue for the story to make sense. Lore is the world and its history and people in the game needs to be able to live naturally within this lore without having to constantly remind us (or themselves) of it.
But it’s sort of like pouring resources into making a really awesome TV series and then forcing people to play a reflex-based mini-game to be able to watch. Sure, your story is cool, but if some of your players struggle just to be able to watch it, then what was the point?
Except we are now talking about a GAME. Not a TV show.

Maybe Arenanet should remove any actual gameplay from the game so people unable to play game can play the game without having to play.
^ Or you could go buy yourself a game you find fun instead of playing one you don’t like.
Most people who bought this game did it because of how it is.
“bought some gold”
It was so easy because you took the easiest way.
^ Faolain tells her to go fight Glint.
Faolain was there to spread the blackness through
Caithe. It is a fool’s errand you are on. You have
killed dragon champions but have not faced a true
dragon. And, even now, another is coming into the
world. It will destroy you unless you join me!
Caithe lurched, hurling Faolain’s hands back from
her heart. She looked wildly around, then locked eyes
with Faolain. How can you know this? How can any
mortal?
Faolain blinked. The same way you know. We
watch. We see the new dragon’s champion preparing
for it. A champion by the name of Glint.
A new champion?
An old one, her loyalties long concealed.
Then take the poison from me, so that I can fight it.
Faolain’s mouth dropped open. The poison is your
love for me.
“Take it! Turn it to hate!” Caithe said. “I will fight the
one who rises!”
Here’s a version without the text.
1600×900 because that was the biggest one google gave me.

I almost wish ANet would just release a movie or a book at this point so I don’t have to log in to the game to learn about the story anymore.
Why did you buy a game if you only wanted a story?
Now I will say that would have been a MUCH better route to take in the Personal Story rather than making our characters into peons to Trehearne and only one of several Pact “Commanders”. I wonder if this was deliberate ret-con effort on ArenaNet’s part to try to actually make our characters seem important rather than replaceable grunts.
Peons don’t get asked for their opinion and to take critical decisions.
At every chapters Trahearne gives us suggestions of what we should do next and after we’ve taken a decision he give us directions to our mission.
He’s a scholar. He do the “paper work” and the diplomatic stuff between the orders and gather intelligence from them while we’re doing our heroic deeds on the field.
This way when we’re back from a mission, he got a direction or new information to give us. At least this is how I see it.
He also call us “my friend”
See you tomorrow
Kind of like how there’s almost no old people in Tyria.
To be honest, is that terribly surprising when everything and its grandmother wants to murder you?
The more you fight them the least mistake you’ll make. I don’t think they’re stronger than other veterans, just newer.
She was killed so many times being pulled back in trying to push to stay in longer than it would be safe to avoid not having the shield up due to the bosses attempt to pull me back in it made me rage quit the game several days in a roll.
See she was doing at best 5% damage per attempt I can not use clones and condition damage doesn’t work well either without my clones.
I got the boss to 55% one time of the many attempts on her and all I got in return was him pulling me back in to get me in the aoe without a shield as it worn off as usual outside of the aoe just to have him pull be back in knock me down and then get aoed to fast to even roll out which of course would reset the fight due to respawn and time it would take to run back.
?
I don’t think the boss pull. The light pillars do push you back when you get too close without a color buff though. Maybe you ran out of his AoE too close to a light pillar?
Someone made a video of killing the facet of light with a condition mesmer.

They didn’t change the game mechanic and the boss is not OP in any possible way.
You can AFK during the fight and still win without a scratch. How is that OP?I am solo playing my story instance, and you say I can AFK and the final boss will be defeated.
Ya —right.
I meant you can go AFK during the fight, then come back unscratched and finish it.
Mordrem Vile Trasher got nerfed too. They used to be immune to damage when rotating. Now they’re just defenseless from behind.
It’s called diviner armor in game.
You can buy it with badges of honor from WvW armor vendor.
I have no idea if we can get it anywhere else since I was never interested in this outfit.

Changing the nature of the game by forcing you to get rid of boons is just a poor design decision.
They didn’t change the nature of the game and they don’t force you to remove your boons. Not having your boons absorbed by the vortex is an Achievement. It is not required to complete LS. You have to voluntary go back, after you have completed the story, to do the achievements.

Grind is unwanted, but required repetitive tasks that gives little in return.
Farm is voluntary, but not required repetitive tasks to get the best return possible.
have u ever wanted to play a Mesmer with out being a purple butterfly
no
Aren’t skill color and sound useful to identify a class though? Wouldn’t that become an issue especially in pvp?
(edited by Haishao.6851)
I loved the Hidden Arcana mission and I hope more content like this will be made.
It reminded of mechanics you’d see in games like Guild Wars.
Dragon’s reach 1 and 2 were pretty good too. I loved 1st more than the 2nd but mostly because there wasn’t almost 15 minutes of talking before getting to the fight when you wanted to replay.
(edited by Haishao.6851)
It’s probably too late but maybe they could have made a keep that can be upgraded to have a waypoint. This way people would need to work toward getting and maintaining their waypoint. Like in wvw.
Otherwise only having 1 waypoint don’t bother me so much. The map is rather small and walking dolyak supply caravan is important. I walk one all the way to where i’m going everytime I go there.
(edited by Haishao.6851)
But no1, including me, likes the PvP exlcusive skin, nor can u upgrade it.. LIFE IS NOT FAIR!
The Glorious armor skin? It is really an awesome skin and I’m sure a lot of people would love to have it in PvE. Same with the older removed one like Tribal and Apostle.
They’re named nón là in Vietnam
It’s the most known conical hat to western countries so this is probably why they made it that way.Saying they goofed on the “asian hat” is wrong because there are many different hat styles all over Asia.
Erm. You just contradicted yourself.
So Western Countries can generalize most of asian hat styles with the nón là. While we, the rest cannot say the “asian hat” because it’s generalizing many different hat styles over Asia.
ROFL.
When did I say you can’t say Asian hat?
I said you cannot say arenanet goofed asian hat. Because they didn’t.
They used the most commonly known.
It seems such a shame to put in all this design, art and effort and have it limited to one segment of living story?
At least they wont delete it this time.
I wish it was made into a fractal too.

^ That’s not what sandbox is.
Think of GTA or The Elder Scrolls. Those are Sandbox games and are not competitive.
Sandbox is like a real sandbox, you go in and do what you want with the sand.
GW2 is a mild sandbox and it is perfect for casual since you can go at your own pace without really having to care about people getting ahead of you.
In a Themepark game you have to keep up with everyone if you want to play with them because they’ll have little to no reason to go back with you if you’re behind. Or they will come to rush you through and you’ll just miss everything.
The biggest problem people usually have with sandbox is that they don’t know what to do or where to go because there are no set path they have to follow. You tell them “do what you want” and they will ask “but what?”.
No idea what’s an N Bomb but there’s a filter in game if you don’t like seeing certain words.
Well, obviously. Why would limited finisher be of any use to someone who bought the unlimited?
Yes. Thank to the fix I could buy the missing 287 gems I needed to get 1600. Then proceed to spend it all on stuff that wasn’t even on sale.
I never sell gems so the problem doesn’t affect me directly but I hope it gets fixed soon for anyone who do.
I think most people who trade gems to gold trade X amount of Gems instead of thinking of getting X amount of gold precisely.
To fix it the input box should be for the amount of gems to trade instead of the amount of gold to get. Like it was before it get broken in the name of hypothetical confused new player.
That’s Gold to Gem window. I think people are talking about Gem to Gold.
Nope thats is gem to gold. You now tell how many gems you have to buy instead of how much gold you want to trade. Much easier.
Gem to Gold is buying gold with gems, the window side is yellow.
The blue one is to buy gems with gold, Gold to Gems.
Palador’s issue is with the Gem to Gold (yellow).
That’s Gold to Gem window. I think people are talking about Gem to Gold.
You most likely will never get in group that finish AC path in 8 minutes each. They play in guild, not pugs.
You most likely won’t see Lupicus down in 4 second from a PUG either. You’ll see the pug down in 4 seconds instead.
It’s not about saving. It’s about anet trying to scam people into buying more gems than they need.
If I want the ninja and pirate outfit right now I have to spend 910 gems. The minimum we can buy is 800 for $10. This wouldn’t be an issue normally because I could just get the 110 missing gems in game. Now I’m forced to either buy $20 of gems to spend 910 or buy an extra 400 for 65g to only spend 110 of them. And in the end I’m stuck with odd amount that can’t be used for anything I want.
Implying it wasn’t done on purpose.
How can we take anything that Arenanet says seriously when they’re currently having a 3 days sale with items that cost 600, 130, and four hundred fifty five (the number is censored) gems.
(edited by Haishao.6851)
One can compare buying a dungeon run with botting. Something else is doing the work FOR you. YOU aren’t actually playing the game the way it was meant to be played.
With your logic buying from the TP is also cheating.
You should play lunatic inquisition and southsun survival.
While not exactly the same, they are very similar to the branded and hunger royal games from 2nd and 3rd beta.
I’d be glad to go with Trahearne and the pact. I think he was great and was the only one to consider our character important.
People’s problem with Trahearne is all of the other NPCs around him.
They probably just said they were working on it so people shut up and forget about it.
I think every classes can kill them. Knowing what they do and what you can do makes them easier.
I think the most annoying are the Vile Thrasher since they move around a lot and take no damage from the front when rotating. They also take more damage from the back, but they leave that death trail of goo in their back which makes it harder if you don’t have range. As a mesmer I usually use my staff against them. I tried GS and scepter, but I find staff more effective. And it gives me a use for my staff heh. Make sure you don’t stand in their trail and dodge to the side out of their way when they roll toward you.
Husk have lot of armor and condition melt them down really quickly. I usually switch to staff against them as mesmer. Make sure you evade their root attack if they are paired with another mordrem such as vile thrasher.
Wolves do more damage when flanking, so always try to face them. They get retaliation when they howl which returns some of the damage you’re doing to yourself. It’s usually not really a problem if they howl late, but better remove condition or interrupt them if they are still high HP and/or are with other mordrem.
Mordrem Leeching thrasher will devastate you if you are far from them but are pretty much inoffensive in melee. They do a red pool of leechinglife around them sometime. You can dodge out easily then run back in melee when its gone. The distance of the pool isn’t enough to trigger their poisonous vine.
Tendrils are really straight forward. I don’t know if it works like this all the time but during the tendril events in dry top you have to clear the smallest one before you can kill the big one. Otherwise the big one will just heal itself about 1/4 of its life instead of dying. I didn’t fight them often so I don’t know much about them.

Funny, everyone was shouting about Abaddon, and the first thing that came to my mind was Grenth…or maybe not…it’s those fingers, err, claws that have me wondering though.
It’s the same statue we can see in the temple of forgotten god PS mission
I think it is ridiculous to have to buy 400 gems at a time! They should have left it the way it was.
To be fair I have been “forced” to buy at least 800 gems every time I have wanted to buy gems since release. And yet no one seems to have had any issue with that.
No one had an issue with that because if you were left with odd amount of gems you could sell them for gold or buy just the amount you needed to break even.
Now it’s impossible. The system is made to steal money from people and force them to get stuck with gems they cannot use. You can do absolutely nothing with odd amount of gems anymore. It’s money arenanet steals from us. Directly. Like dirty thieves.

Yeah, I understand that. The cut off is extremely short though:
http://i.imgur.com/2vYZTRS.jpgLike, yowza.
It is indeed very short.
I said no other dress was like this one but forgot about arah armor which is also a long dress. The “cap” is about the height of the apprentice boots, which is usually a much better height for it.
It may require a bit more work on the rigging though.
I don’t have that new dress so I can see for myself but from the screenshots it look like they didn’t even try to give it dimension and the cap is right at the bottom like you’d have on a default cylinder.
