Duel would be fun. That and free-for-all open arena are the only type of pvp I find fun.
Open arena are fun to play in or sit and watch people.
We already have duel called costume brawl in the game and no one get harassed by “toxic” people because of it. The same thing with our skills and character model instead of a disguise wouldn’t be different. And would actually be more fun.
Then, those wanting to ‘duel’ already have the tools to do so. Or, maybe the fact that so few people duel with tools that are somewhat balanced shows how unpopular dueling would be. Who knows?
Then you have no reason to be against it. They’re costume brawl but with our skills and normal look.
Costume brawl is definitely unpopular and you cannot pretend you don’t already know why since you’ve read every threads about dueling and it comes up every time.
Mounts are unpopular too :^)
Some want dueling, I want the ability to kill vets and stand on monuments for dailies, and harvest nodes, without being killed by a passing WvW player. It can even not show on the total war score, just my UI daily completion.
It’s as fair a swap as this game will allow, so it makes sense.
The argument is that dueling won’t bother non duelers then my killing vets and standing on monuments won’t bother WvW players (and again, don’t have it progress the WvW war score). If dueling is allowed then this should be allowed. Fair is fair.
To duelers who don’t like this idea, I say. The shoe pinches when it’s on the other foot, doesn’t it.
The shoe definitely doesn’t pinch since you’re completely off track, comparing orange with apple while going from one extreme to another and making little to no sense, once again.
In turn, Anet should open PvP and WvW up to the PvE players, have it where they can farm and RP and do events/achievements in PvP and WvW maps without having to worry about the PvP/WvW elements.
Also the same should be done for raids, dungeons, and fractals too.
I agree with TheOrlyFactor
Dueling is fine in PvE if in return I’m allowed to turn off PvP in WvW and run around farming and killing the mobs without being killed or attacked.
What’s fair for one is fair for the other.
WvW isn’t duel. It’s open world PvP.
If people were asking for PK then your idea would maybe make sense.

They should create specific hair style for these kind of hats like most other games do.
I agree with op. I thought we had enough with cat ear headgear (nice rhyme) and cat ear golems. Now we have to see cat icons on the map. It’s just too childish imo. Someone shouldn’t have brought his wife to work.
Then go play something more serious for serious people like you.
It’s playing during the Glint’s Lair mission in the Season 2 LW
In GW1 it was used at the last cut scene of Ruin of Surmia in Ascalon when Rurik and the hobo mage find the Storm Caller.
Anet got inspired by the recent wannacry attack and created ransom loot.
How? Explain how? Without dps meters community perception is all that would matter. There would be nothing but ele’s and buff kittenes. With DPS meters eles doing 8dps will get kicked because they are bad, while guardians doing 20k dps will be kept around, even tho their class isn’t meta at the current time. This does NOTHING but improve the game.
This does not improve the game, it improves your personal experience. Those are 2 very different things. You make it sound like a dps-meter is essential for raids, but it most certainly is not. Pay more attention to the screen instead of the overlay and you’ll find the less skilled players are easy to spot. This game never needed dps-meters and it certainly doesn’t need them now, definitely not one that shows other people’s dps and gear.
While you’re technically correct, I find dps meters to be tools of great value. Being able to spot problems in dps or buff coverage, or various other uptimes, can help optimize your play and your group. Just because a tool can be used for toxicity doesn’t mean it is only used for it. Nor does it mean they cause it. Toxicity originate in the players, not their tools. Take away one tool, they’ll find another. It’s just that simple.
but the tool does spur the toxicity more then without one, remove the tool and ppl need to experience a player more direct rather then relying on a tool to tell them what to do.
Remove the tool and people will kick you because you don’t have 25k+ AP
I don’t need any research, I’ve played virtually ever decent MMO and have witnessed the culture it creates in each one of them, WoW’s biggest proponents of this behavior was a site called Elitist Jerks.com and the name says it all lol! Theory crafting is fine but using it as a tool to shut people out is flat wrong. You want to help the game using a personal DPS meter, start by teaching people who don’t understand the mechanics as well as you do not by ostracizing them.
That site is most likely called Elitist Jerks to parody people like you calling them that.
People in dungeon forum here have called themselves elitist jerks for the same reason.
Why should they teach you, though?
Why not ask the people who taught them to teach you instead?
If you don’t understand the mechanics, why are you in a high tier group?
There should be an asura named Agent Zrii at the camp near the entrance who can send you right there.
Because people think balance is the most important thing.
I too think balance is of utmost importance, but pets exactly like the spirit weapons are balanced on another class, there is no reason they couldn’t balanced on the guardian.
There’s no balance until everything are the same.
Hopefully it doesn’t affect the real game.
Because people think balance is the most important thing.
For those of us who only run raids and FotM when we log on we DO NOT go out and farm the season 3 maps. We do NOT get dungeon rewards. Yet WvW and PvPers do from just playing their game mode.
Stop doing only raid or fractal and go farm or do dungeon. How complicated is your life?
PvE maps already have reward track for participation.
When you buy the game you should receive a key.
You can give that key to your friend who will be able to register it in their account page https://account.arena.net/overview
I do it with my mesmer. I just have typical zerk with scholar rune gears. I change weapons and skills/traits depending of the boss.
Prices are the same as always
500 for armor skins is on the high side
I think it’s the same as usual.
The 500gem one are usually special skins, if we exclude the masks of the silent and wanderer.
Prices are the same as always
You can also just copy/paste your game installation to a second location to avoid redownloading it all.
This will be Guild Wars 3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KR2Esy83MQ0
LOL, I’m afraid so!
If you’d be comparing gw1 and gw2 i would understand. But gw2 always was very high tech in my opinion.
I think there is yet another misunderstanding here. It’s all about the design. There are “high-tech” things that are designed to fit into the world (airships being one of them), and then there are things, items, that look totally like out of a sci-fi movie (some recent armor sets, the Dominator weapons, Asuran “computer panels” etc.).
This thread is all about the designs that don’t fit, not the technology per se. Stuff needs to blend in, not destroy the beauty of what we have known and loved as Tyria. Some more classic designs are in order.
Living World wouldn’t be called Living World if the world didn’t constantly move forward. As new event happen, people adapt and develop new technology to face them.
The Pact was created and developed new technology to face Zaithan.
Scarlet developed new technology to meet her ends and the people developed new technology to go against her.
Ley lines came to lights and people started researching on them. They made discoveries which led to new technological development.
The Pact upgraded their fleet to face mordremoth.
We discovered Rata Novus which led to new researches and discoveries and new technology
Ley line energy got even stronger new discoveries were made and new technology developed.
A Bloodstone exploded which led to new researches and new discoveries and new technological development.
Two Dragons rose at the same time so we needed to adapt again and develop new technology to face them.
And it will continue to go forward.
I wish the world would evolve a bit more evenly but arenanet can only do 1 thing at a time.
GW1 was 200 years in the past.
Earth looks like science fiction compared to 200 years ago too.

To ship this Trident to someone they would first need to spend 10k gold on it because there’s absolutely no other than that single one on the TP.
Same goes for the item named Staff. https://www.gw2bltc.com/en/item/37629-Staff
They don’t drop anywhere. Their price reflect their rarity.
When I remember those good ol’ days of hangin’ around in Kamadan or LA for hours only to buy this or that and then, as a casual, never knowing if that one person had just put me over the barrel… I’d rather stick with the current system, thank you.
So… exactly like real life? What’s wrong with that? It teaches people to educate themselves before making a purchase or trade.
What’s right with that? This isn’t EVE online — people aren’t here to become shrewd at trading; they came to play an epic RPG and trading is incidental.
It can be fun for a game to copy parts of RL; it’s not fun for it to mimic all aspects .
again with the RPG nonsense, there is no single component of any other RPG in the world that this game has, GW2 is an MMO, not an RPG
halfwrong gw2 is a mmorpg. Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. unless you are actually a hero of tyria and fight dragons irl this is in fact a rpg also. if i wanted absolutely horrible trading that took a entire lifetime to amass wealth i would just do it irl and make tons of money with that gamble. i play games for fun not for a headache of realism.
GW2 is more like a Massively Multiplayer Online Battle Arena than RPG.
personal shops are great in actual mmorpg, not in games based on rushing content and instant gratification like gw2
Geez, you don’t stand long in a discussion, do you? I wonder how (and if) you would survive a job interview…
-1 – Skills on Cooldown and you can still use them? What is this? Does it add a multiplied CD on it, just like when you do too many push-ups despite you are at your limits but still do more push-up until you get muscle ache which takes your out for the next time? I mean, imagine a shooter where you ran out of ammo and you somehow still can get a fresh mag and “later penalties”. That already sounds dumb. A cooldown is a restriction, so why have it in the first place?
-2 – That sounds okay-ish, but I am not sure if it fits into the “ecosystem” of this game. I never played BDO, but it is basically some sort of specialization, just like in other games where you can upgrade your shotgun skills if you use the shotgun more often and suddenly you can carry 2 more shots and stuff like that? I don’t know, man..
-3 – We have an instant weapon-swap going on. So far it sounds like it’s to buffer any sort of delay? So it’s really redundant.
Excelsior.
Most combat skills in BDO don’t actually have usage cooldown. They instead get effect cooldown.
See image for example.
The skill does damage, pull, guard, and the summoned beast’s (Heilang) combo does stiffness. It has 13 seconds cool down (it’s not a 5) meaning that during these 13 seconds you can still use the skill but guard and stiffness wont work and damage will be reduced. The pull effect will still work though and if you have add-on to heal on hit, you still get that too.
Those things work great in BDO and they’re part of what makes BDO combat great. But they wouldn’t fit in GW2 and would definitely require a complete rebalance of the entire game to be implemented.

The animation is the default tuna animation. It’s not gasping for air, it’s breathing.
Stop making alternative facts and getting offended by them.
No. It’s a freakin’ joke in a video game, for crying out loud. Grow a sense of humour.
If you think showing an animal being tortured is a joke, I hope you are never allowed to own a real pet. :-\
Can you give us proof that it’s being tortured?
I think it’s funny and would be an error to change it. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it.
If I, and all my miniatures can breath water, this fish can breath air.
It just happen that flipping around like this is the most effective way a fish can move around on land. If it was dying and agonizing, it wouldn’t be following.
It does feel like a good idea that got abandoned midway and never touched again.
I think that if they don’t want to go back editing skills, they should still make some underwater content but make the focus more about exploration and navigation instead of just fights.
Nope(to the op), the devs have acknowledged outlier accounts, both positive and negative. If you have a negative one, you are basically screwed. Farm gold and buy is your only option.
Source on that?
They all achieved spiritual elevation to reach the horse paradise which they call The Running Dream. There, they can run endlessly on infinite lands made of the softest grass without ever being tired. They can be summoned back on Tyria for a brief moment by using a mystical trans-universe apparatus named The Dreamer.
they’re noble gloves

I agree that commander icon should have a little chevron or easily identifiable icon in the squad window.
Lieutenants could also have a special identification icon.
I don’t know if it’s already the case and commander just never use it but It would also be good if subgroups made our name a different color than the rest of the squad. It would make it easier to regroup with the right people. Especially in big guild or openworld and wvw where we don’t personally know everyone and their name.
Better way to identify our own name in the squad would also be useful.
Doing chest run in silverwastes is a very good way of getting more than you’ll ever need.
The guild trader in guild hall also sometime have a bag of 50 for 1 commendation.

From a general game perspective, specializations are places where a profession may gain access to features from a different profession.
Then can Tempest get 3 dodges please?
Way to hijack a thread about mesmer with your ele stuff.
Check over there for a pretty useful guide http://www.logicalincrements.com/
They explain every parts at the bottom
I never had problem with the razer software and I could always make profile for everything. I got profile for software like Blender and photoshop and for every games I play. Macros are easy to make and manage and I never had problem with those either. You can also configure every buttons except left click.
I think the buggy part and incompatibility people mention from it come from the game statistic stuff. It’s an optional part of the software that tracks button press and mouse movement. It’s completely useless to me so I never enabled it.
Next mouse I’m looking at for when this one dies is Corsair Scimitar. Because the side button panel can move. On the Naga the side panel is placed in a way that I have trouble reaching the 1 2 3 buttons because of the way I hold it.
You should try this as a ranger with pig pet so they can dig you out some more tools.
[…]
In Valkyrie, on my main class which is Engineer, I often find myself running around with less than 5k HP left due to having tanked a few hits here and there, and almost always find a way to heal myself and keep going.
[…]but at some point you have to remove the small wheels off your bike and learn to do things by yourself.
Extra vitality is your small wheels. It is keeping you up when you would have fallen.
I used Valkyrie for a while on my mesmer. I eventually changed it for assassin and got much better at the game. Because it forced me to learn how to survive by myself, using skills and trait to my advantage instead of just relying on my armor.
That said, use the armor you want. No one cares as long you don’t try to force yourself in their group.
Use LFG, get there early and it won’t fail. It fails if you’re just banging around maps hoping to get a good one. Now it’s like all the other metas.
Exactly. Now it’s like all the other metas, not worth doing.
It would still be worth doing if I could just get in the map when it’s about to starts, pick a side that seems low on people, play the event, loot the chests, and go back to do something else.
Would still be worth it if it didn’t fail 99% of the time.
I only play HoT since November but I had never seen Octovine fail until before last patch. Now I never see a successful maps anymore. Some time it even feel like people are making it fail on purpose so I just stopped bothering with it.
The average player just cannot complete the story !
In GW1 you had the option of selecting normal mode and hard mode. It at least provided payers with an option to play at the level they wanted
Many people still needed help for missions like Thirsty River, Gyala Hatchery/Eternal Grove, Jennur’s Horde/Nundu Bay, Grand Court of Sebelkeh or Gate of Madness. Because they weren’t able to do it with their heroes or using henchmen.
No, like I said – even the sniper trash mobs were mopping the floor with me. It wasn’t just Counter Magic.
Also, I was asking for an anvil in the barn to repair armor. Caudecus is hard when all your armor is broken.
I found that sniper were mostly a problem because they can shoot in their back. You cannot position yourself to avoid their hits. Which, imo is very stupid. You have to either block, absorb, reflect, or CC them.
Haishao, that explains it.
Ancient Magics is locked for me. When I mouse over it, it says I have to go to Ember Bay or Bloodstone Fen to unlock it.
Nuts…. like I said, I only bought HoT in November. I only just barely cleared the Verdant Brink map.
No fifth downed state skill for me yet I guess.
I thought you meant the special ability that people used to have trouble with during this mission, which is counter magic. The 5th downed state is in this mastery page too but it’s the last one at the bottom. Spectral Aid.
It’s in the Ancient Magics mastery window. The first one, Counter magic.
Play a thief and do the same.
