Malzerius – Thief
Dark Covenant (SBI)
Only a WvW player knows this feeling…
Ah kitten, I thought you said we were moving to Anvil Rock?
How much to transfer back to SBI? I have 6g76s left..
Well you can try balancing around all modes but then you get things like rev hammer 2 which is super strong in WvW, mediocre in PvE and somewhat average in PvP. That’s just one example.
With split balancing there would be so much more variation and balance would be a bit more easily attained because they can adjust something without considering every other game mode.
All that does is mask the real issue with this and numerous other pvp systems…PvP, in all forms, should be balanced around 1v1 combat. Every class should have the ability to beat any other class depending on player skill/decision making. Every action in PvP boils down to math…get the math right and you get the game right.
Rock/Paper/Scissors, class and build counters, etc are all cop-outs for failure to adequately design a solid PvP system. I understand why they do it, developing a system where every class is viable in 1v1 is harder than just telling people to bring a friend to help kill that guy. Anyway, rant over..
Old map please
I see less people in WvW every week. Not sure you can balance a population that seems to be in constant decline.
Whoever came up with this kitten just needs to be fired, then beaten in public
These new borderlands make me want to log out and go kill a drifter..
The TD meta has a 2 hour cooldown before it begins again, and my latest attempt at it lasted for 8 minutes and 18 seconds. I hadn’t even finished the first song in my music playlist before the event failed.
8 minute songs are pretentious, you deserved to fail for listening to that crap
Did anyone else notice that Nick has taken 530 screenshots?
A semi-relevant observation/statement…
I work too much so I tend to buy gold in every game I play (sometimes from unofficial sources). However, I haven’t even looked at other options in GW2 since I can just buy gems. Every game should have a “legal” option to purchase currency for those of us who don’t have the time to farm.
Raids are serious business..
How long until someone shows up in this thread with their hand out?
My Revenant will be instant 80 (if we can use tomes) so they can wipe it if they want
I think it’ll be instantly 80 after you create it.
Correct and with multiple gear options in your inventory. A dev reply is in one of the threads about it
He’s talking about his Revenant at the release of HoT

And… who cares? Giving new players the core as well in no way hurts me or affects my game play, with the possible exception of there being new players around. I’m not losing anything, I’m still gaining the expansion.
You are losing money. A lot of money.
Are you 12 years old or something? Fifty bucks is just a couple of lunches…

You guys should stop complaining and go get better jobs
I was kinda hoping for ninja throwing stars or a board with a nail in it
not true running full zerk ele and i do just fine as long as the servers dont lag but perma 25 stacks of might and quickness might be whats killing you guys lol
If you’re running full zerk ele then you’ve probably noticed a significant increase in your attack power. I’m not saying it’s good or bad, but it’s definitely a different experience in WvW after the patch.
We ran around for a few hours last night and it seems like everyone is hitting harder after the patch. I know my attack power went up significantly after the patch. As an elementalist, my damage output seemed considerably higher than normal. Is this the case across the board with all classes?
Anyone else hitting a lot harder or getting hit harder than usual?
Please add copper ore to wallet. I now have 253 copper ores and have to use a bank slot for the extra 3 ores. Thank you.

This is not about money, this is mainly about value. There is a difference.
If you have grown up in a very consumer heavy society like North America, throwing money at over-prized stuff is part of your daily life. The value of a product is secondary as long as it is the up-to-date “thing”.In other societies the value of a product consists of both, the cost and the degree of satisfaction in regards of expectations. $50 here is a dinner for two, $100 if you want something better than pizza. Even though you could say that is fairly expensive, together with the experience I see enough value to pay for the experience.
I don’t care about the prize tag, as long as I see the proper value in the product.Which right now I see not in GW2:HoT, and neither does my wife. Two less buyers of the expansion for now.
Value is subjective. Fifty dollars is nothing to an adult. For example…A man with a wife and three kids wants a burger for dinner. He ends up paying about $50 to eat his burger. If he wants an ice cream cone it will cost him around 10-15 dollars. Fifty dollars is nothing.
Please, are you even an adult? An real adult who works would value his money real carefully.
When i was a kid, i also believe adults would have easier time buying random stuff, but it’s not true unless you have no social life at all, or no familly, at least not with 3 kids lol.
There’s probably very few of you who grew up with less than I did so believe me, I understand the value of a dollar. You are right, kids are expensive, family in general is expensive, having a social life is expensive. Fifty dollars for a game you’ll play for a long time is not expensive.
When do you get the gems and other items?
Right away.
Sold

its mainly because those who have already bought the game feel slighted because they pay for the same amount as someone who doesnt already have the game, yet the the new person gets the core game as well
the veterans who are complaining are annoyed that newcomers are getting more for their buck
First of all, I’m a veteran and I think the complaining is being done by people who have really kittenty jobs.
Everyone gets the same thing. Just start another account and take advantage of your new “free” core game.
The whining in this forum is quickly reaching ArcheAge levels

I clicked on this topic when I was a teenager and now I have three kids in college
Definitely agree. I honestly can’t believe this is even up for debate, the proposed upgrade system is a really, really bad idea.
Anybody plan on getting Guard Killer or Defense Against Guards now? I don’t really see the point in getting these now besides just having leftover points to burn.
Jimmy, Ray Ray and Pookie
Temple of Lyssa needs defenders? BRT!!!
Everybody hates treehorn and logan.
I want to make a table out of treehorn. Then I want to smash that table into pieces and then burn those pieces.
I disagree. This community is toxic to humanity. All the people that represent it should not be given any consideration. Trust me when I tell you, their wealth is counterfeit.
Change your godkitten signature traitor ^^
I made 280 gold last night in 3 seconds
If you just did all three AC paths alone, each day, that’s 4.5g in about an hour of work, not including any drops. If you have extra time to spend, throw in some CoF, even more money. 4.5 * 7 = 31.5g playing about 1hr/day (possibly longer at first if you just aren’t used to AC, but once you get a regular thing going, each path should take ~15-20min.
So. There you go.
I don’t see how you guys do that. If I couldn’t buy gems and convert them to gold I wouldn’t be playing this game.
As a non-EU player who never does PvE, I simply cannot support this
You have 172 on each character now
I don’t think that “ganking” is addressed by this solution, though.
If these groups are so good I’m not sure why “ganking” is a problem in the first place
Looks right to me. I’m not even sure how only “spent” skill points being added could happen from a data standpoint.
More action bars!
I doubt I’ll be hanging around until June to find out how this nonsense turns out. WvW is already ridiculously boring and unfortunately it’s the only thing I found entertaining about this entire game. As for season 2, I’m looking forward to it like you look forward to buying groceries or going to the dentist. yay…
According to polls at gw2wvw.net there will be very little shift in populations as money is not a real great Input into decision making.
Theres also the 24/7 action and instant action in WvW in the upper Tiers which is very elusive to the casual gamer and hadcore players, both alike. Offcourse some prefer different sorts of action, and for those, i think they might take advantage of the free transfers.
Remember, free transfers to lower tiers was a request by the community. See, Anet listens
If money is not an input into decision making about transfers why does your server and others pay other people’s transfer fees?
Edit: Looked at the poll. 20% of the people who voted are transferring? That seems like a pretty big shift to me.
The only decision that matters to WvW guilds is whether they will get good fights 24/7. As for the the gems/gold that it costs, a hardcore WvW will find a way…
Hence the mass exodus from the lower tiers.
From what I’ve seen, it’s not the hardcore guilds that make the exodus.
Thread over…
You’re confusing “hardcore” with “hardheaded”, and presuming a non-existent evil in leaving your server(s), as well as a non-inherent honor in refusing to leave.
I’m not confused…or defensive lol
I have a hard time staying alive vs 3 warriors

Who in their right mind would want to discuss anything with the people who frequent this forum? The WvW community in this game is the whiniest collection of children ever assembled in any game to date. Anet won’t just come out and say that but that’s absolutely the reason.

Well I’m assuming there would be a few obvious improvement in the 15+ years since the UO days. All things being equal, collision detection makes for better, more strategic gameplay. You can already see people complaining about griefers which generally means they’re worried about the training wheels coming off. Adding another level of difficulty to pvp/wvw really bothers some people, I say we ignore those people.
These guys have made a big impact on the server in a short amount of time. They’re extremely reliable and well versed in WvW gameplay. They’ve made SBI a better place to play which, in my opinion, is the highest compliment you can give in games like this.
It worked in UO and added a level of difficulty to pvp that has been rarely seen since. You’d think that over 15 years later they’d stop going the lazy route of people being able to run through each other and figure out collision detection for games like this.
Oh and friendly fire would be flat out awesome
Because of that, we have servers who are perma-Outmanned and servers with 5 hour queues.
Anyone who waits in a 5 hour queue is an idiot
I think everyone is missing the true scandal here. A keep in the possession of Yak’s Bend was not sieged up to the max.
I’m sure this will come up in server-wide meetings where there will be acrimony and accusations about why there were not at least 5 arrow carts already in place on that wall.
Nah the main reason that keep was lost was because Emory Bay isn’t in this matchup
