This week however, we sound like BP 2.0 and it’s making us look every bit as egotistical and arrogant as they are. We’re fighting against two servers who are outnumbered and have no chance of winning the match. SBI, of all servers, should understand what that’s like. Yet here we are..

If it works like other mapping applications the dots are always there. They just get painted and filtered based on the viewer’s status (i.e. enemy server). The fact that you see them may be due to server lag or just a glitch that caused the filter to not be applied. Any further queries to the server reapply the filter so eventually it fixes itself.

wasn’t just that one time. happend in ebg and sbi bl. Sorry for the QQ post i don’t usually do it. just annoyed cause no one wants to wvw on the server anymore. so don’t mind me i’ll just sit over here and pout.
normally we lose 50% of our wvw pop for events. now we are losing 80% of our wvw pop to living story.
not an excuse, we just cant compete with our lack of coverage.
i did have fun routing sbi’s 20man at orchard in dh bl tho earlier.
Not that it’ll make you feel any better, but we on SBI can certainly sympathize, having first seen a mass exodus of WvW guilds back during the free transfer days, then a slow trickle of PvX guilds leave over the months that followed. It’s only in the past 2 weeks that we’ve suddenly had an influx of WvW guilds transfer to our server.
The only advice I can offer for those of you who still do come out to fight every night is not to give up. Even if there’s no chance of winning, come out for the fights and the laughs and have fun. Do that and the other servers will notice, and eventually guilds on other servers that aren’t happy with their current server will take a harder look at DH when and if they start thinking about transferring.
The thing is, we are about to loose 1 of our 2 major wvw guilds. SE is looking to leave. So once again Darkhaven looses more guilds. 4th time since the game launch. Maybe our pve players will get burnt out on the events and come join us in wvw. lol
They should join the Stormwagon Isle express to tier 2.
We’re a long way from tier 2, hopefully it stays that way. We’ll have a better understanding of our status in about 24 hours.

I know that the red rings in the other 2 pics could be taken for the gate hole shots, but as I said. too busy tryin to stay alive than get pics for the National Geographic. but believe me, the first ac shot that hit me was nearly to the repair npc. Cant do that by any other means than the window-adjustment glitch. just sayin.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not laying blame on all of SBI. I’ve had some very good, fair and square fights with you guys since the reset. But, when we are almost always outnumbered, and crap like this happens, it just steams my clams.
I want you SBI guys to know about it, and try to call out the ones doing it to tell them to stop. Behavior like that makes ALL of us look bad as a community, not just as individual servers. Good luck.
Well, it turns out you can’t actually lay blame at anyone on SBI because that’s simply not a zoom hack. If you have any other pics that show anything other than targeting through the open space above the gate then we can talk about whether or not any shenanigans are going on but there is nothing in those screenshots that resemble a zoom hack. Until you’ve had your keep lord killed by ACs from outside the wall don’t talk about being zoom hacked, you just don’t know what it looks like apparently.

You guys need to remember that ANET isn’t building WvW with GvG in mind. Only a small subset of WvW players even GvG (although some of the most dedicated players love it).
How can you possibly doubt “In-game guesses”? That’s as close to empirical as you can get without actually doing any work.

So true. I don’t know what it is about SBI, but it seems every time we fight them drama ensues. You’d think it’d be that way between us and Ehmry Bay considering how often we butt heads, but nope. SBI generates its own unique flavor that is all together unwholesome and leaves a bad after taste. Might be all the accusations of cheating, or the chest thumping about how good they are in Eternal to the detriment of all else.
When we first met, it was ugly, but we managed to prevail by simply holding their Hills Keep all week. But that meant leaving their Eternal Zerg to karma train all day every day for 7 days. Methinks they still have not forgiven us for that loss, and all the others that followed it since.
There aren’t very many unforgivable defeats for us over the past year but I’ll always remember SoR recruiting our already heavily diminished playerbase and then hitting the 8 or so of us who were left with 50-60 people at a time when we tried to flip a supply camp. This went on every night for a few matches then when we were finally gonna get rid of them they tanked a matchup so they could do it for another week before advancing to the next tier. So no, losing to BP isn’t that big of a deal.
Aside from a little chest thumping and trolling this matchup (and this thread) are basically unremarkable. No one from any of these three servers will remember any of the details of this match a week from now.

Since my last post got deleted, let me rephrase it this way. We don’t care if you take our keep, or our borderlands. We have more fun than you, day in, and day out. You guys are not even in the NA top 10, yet you play for points. All this means is that if you win your matchups, 10 other servers are doing it better than you anyways. While you make your members sit in towers to be static scouts, all of our guys are out having fun because that’s all that matters to us. I pass down this advice from a server who has already been at tier 1, and seen what it does to a community when you inevitably fall from grace. We play for fun, and you play for points. Come on to the forums all you want, we’ll be busy turning you and your guild into loot bags and chasing you into your towers. Stop bragging about beating up an outmanned server and exceptional PvDoor skills. We already come to expect this from BP, and especially the Borlis Savers guild.

Oh SBI. That was truly an epic push you made on our borderlands earlier. I can only assume it was your eternal battlegrounds karma train looking for new things to cap through.
Sounds like fun but the best part is that it wasn’t the EB people. We were busy fighting at Jerrifer’s and SM around that time and the map was queued. I think it’s pretty awesome that we fielded some decent numbers in the BLs tonight though. Things are looking up.

When someone calls you “bad” or “boring” it’s just a different focus and perspective on what WvW means to each server and not Anet’s design lol.
When I called them boring it had nothing to do with perspective. They’ve even agreed in this thread that they’re boring. They are boring to fight, period.
I could have called them bad because of how many times we had to stop and sell their loot on reset night and how many times they ran from us when the numbers were close or even in their advantage but I didn’t. That would just be my opinion.

You guys already know how to reduce skill lag, just do it already. Lower the map caps until you can solve the problem permanently. This would also spread some of the players around to different maps and/or lower populated servers.

Rofl the only reason I’m posting about it is because when i see players with an undeserved ego, I call them out on it. Your players play like garbage, tower hug, and call friends when they get dominated in fair fights. Your guild belongs in the trash and thankfully we have brave guilds like CHAR putting you in there every time your players thing they can handle themselves outside of a zerg.
In my eyes you are even more of an ego-filled kitten than what you see with KWBH. You act like your server is perfect and all of your wvwers are amazing and the best. Well:

I’m curious as to exactly how often anyone escorting a Yak is called on to protect it from anything it can’t handle itself. It’s not as if you can’t hire a couple of NPC guards.
A properly specced guardian can defend a yak against nearly any single player and sometimes two or more.
What sort of answer is that? I asked how often a yak is seriously attacked, not how big an escort does it need.
If you don’t already know the answer to this then you probably wandered into the wrong forum

As for the cost of leveling, I’m not sure to be exact. I generally buy 4k worth of gems and it’s usually more than enough to level a character. Even more so now that the exchange rate is higher.

I fail to see the difference. In spvp you have a normalized version of gear so that everyone is on equal footing. And there are no consumables. This would take away any excuses. You can get 5v1’d in spvp and you can get 5+v1’d in WvW. Thus bring us back to player ability vs player ability as per the “I’m better than you” origination of this banter.
Care to enlighten me on what the difference would be?
Certain abilities perform differently in sPvP than they do in WvW, additionally certain gear setups aren’t available in sPvP. For instance, my guardian gear setup isn’t available in sPvP so when I’m in there I have to play differently with regards to timing. I essentially lose at least some measure of experience since the vast majority of my gaming time is played with different parameters.

I didn’t find the story quests very entertaining, I have 4 level 80 characters and haven’t finished the personal quest on any of them (I haven’t even started it on two of them). You can level very fast with money. I have more money than time so I just bought gems, traded gems for gold and used gold to level my characters through crafting. You can hit 80 in 6-8 hours of crafting. I would never level another character through any other means.
I generally play a healing class in most games. Heavy pvp healing where if you mess up everything goes to hell. This game isn’t set up like that. However, there are several guardian healing specs that actually allow you to support and heal people around you that would have died otherwise. Plus you get the added benefit of actually being tanky yourself. Healing specs perform best in smaller groups because your actions are more meaningful. However, there’s a place in every WvW zerg for a frontline healing/support guardian.

The reason for removing the rewards for yaks was due to a few paths being very short and easily farmed. I’m not sure if they did anything to fix that but personally successfully stopping people from killing my yak is reward enough for me.
That can’t be a limiting factor because there’s such an easy solution. The reward should be based on the length of the path and how long the defender was in range of the yak. Pretty straightforward if you axe me.

Torrid and Reiko. Duel once in spvp and once in WVW behind a windmill. Problem solved for both of you.
Different rulesets. The challenge and the insults are associated with performance in WvW so the duel should be in WvW. I’m surprised one of these guys is chickening out so publicly.
