How exactly do you “police your own” in this game? Reporting does kitten all as far as I’ve seen.

Few things I have notice is how dedicated the havoc group are on both YB and EB, you all did a great job. Also the presence of Void and ONE guild blobs shows something SBI doesn’t really have, and that’s a large WvW focused guild presence.

I just want to clarify something because there seems to be a perception from many in this match that VOID is a large guild… we are not. VOID has exactly 68 members, and if we have 50% of our membership online at the same time for our raids then that’s an extremely good day for us. We usually run 5-6 groups max at peak hours including scouts and havoc support. Granted, we always seem to gather some of the other sexy people from our server along the way, but we don’t quite belong in the ‘blob’ class.

It’s all a matter of perspective honestly. A guild with 5-6 groups is massive compared to most guilds on SBI, particularly guilds who frequent EB. Anyway, as Bannok said, we’ve had some good fights this week. You guys should be commended on your discipline and organization.

A 1v1 fight between 2 guardians should never end. If one dies, he/she is a bad guardian. And no, a bunker guardian shouldn’t be killed by a DPS guardian. Maybe OP should find a different class to fight against and post this thread to his/her current match-up thread instead.

A DPS guardian can indeed win against bunker specced guardians with relative ease. If they’re specced healway it’s just a tad more difficult to get them down. It’s just a little more time consuming is all.

DB and Ebay have been taking supply camps with 30+ all weekend long, that’s the match we’re in. I’ve gotten steamrolled a few times too but I realize WvW is about numbers so I know how stupid it sounds to complain about them.

This builds aim is to be mainly support while being as survivable as possible. The idea is to might stack allies to make up for your lost DPS too. Its uses are mainly for WvWvW but is would have its uses in some PvE content.

I like what you’re trying to do Adam, I appreciate people who think outside of the box. I’d also like to say you should absolutely ignore all the people in this thread who are telling you what you should be doing in WvW.

I can see how your dodge heals and empower would heal for a really nice amount and the boon duration is impressive. I think some of the advice in this thread is worth taking however. Stability for example is something that could really benefit you and your allies, particularly with the very long durations you could impart. Additionally, considering all your boon duration bonuses, perhaps you should look into more skills that grant boons like Stand Your Ground and maybe Save Yourselves.

Your armor is a little low and your hit points are a little high for my tastes. I prefer 3.2k+ armor and run with around 15k base hits. If you had higher toughness you could drop Strength in Numbers and go with Purity to supplement condi removal. Bottom line though, with the amount of healing and long duration buffs you’re throwing around I’m pretty sure you’re pulling your weight.

I ran a dodge heal build for a little bit, it turned out to be nearly worthless for me as I tend to run frontline. I can kinda see it for the backline support, but not frontline, 1 null field or well of corruption couples with binding roots or any other immob negates the entire build, hence making it pointless. Even for the backline, there are so many other far better options available and with added flexibility.

Something tells me you’re doing it wrong…

When do we get to fight other guilds on our own servers? That’s when I’ll start paying attention to other guilds.

Yeah spec for group support then have a roaming build to go regulate newbs (read: Thieves) with. It’s how a lot of us guardians let off steam.

Just a hopeless guild who left DB for SBI so that they can get carried throughout the Season. A guild with horrendous leadership and a group of members who have no capacity to improve. They know who they are and if you knew them, you wouldn’t be surprised. It sounds ridiculous to be assigned to a siege weapon and stay all night in a tower, but yes, this is what their leadership and commanders tell their guild to do on reset night.

Remember kids, just because you transferred to a different server doesn’t mean your guild will become any better.

They must not have been in EB last night then because we had kittenign nobody guarding towers lol

I normally play a healing/tank guardian and have had great success roaming with a warrior friend. He plays a mainly dps spec but isn’t a glass cannon so he doesn’t just fall over when the wind blows. Even numbers isn’t really an issue, we can routinely kill 4-6 people with a high mark of winning a 2 vs 9.

I also roam around with a mesmer friend and our survivability is very high. We kill a tad slower than the guardian/warrior combo but we’re never really in any real danger of dying unless we’re significantly outnumbered.

Also play with a tanky necro from time to time. We’re basically invincible. However, our only method of killing people is to bore them to death

I think you might have overlooked something. I know a few people new to the game gearing up guardians that simply don’t have the badges/karma for a full set of PVT gear. I’m not sure how long it takes to get a full set from dungeons but for most people new to the game PVT gear isn’t an immediate option.

Anyone have an idea on how many dungeon runs are needed for a full set of PVT gear?

I wouldn’t do the Signet heal for pvp of any type. It’s a nice heal but Shelter is better in my opinion. Shelter stops incoming damage for two seconds before it goes off. That’s huge in pvp, wvw and especially zerg vs zerg. It’s really the only viable heal for fighting other players (again, in my opinion). Plus you can string it with Renewed Focus and basically have several seconds of invulnerability with a really nice heal somewhere in the middle and a decent heal when RF ends if needed. Perfect for contesting a point or making a miraculous escape.

TLDR: Shelter stops burst, you will learn to love it

I like builds like this where people are trying things new to them. Their insights tend to make me think about things I’m doing as well. I’m trying a roaming solo build right now that features RHS and some minimal shouts/selfless daring and high crit rate. I normally run full cleric tank healer setup so it’s really fun to step over to the dark side once in awhile. Thanks for posting.

Or if you really want to feature retaliation in zerg fights spend the 15 in Radiance by maybe dropping Retributive Armor. That way Virtue of Justice is refreshed everytime you kill someone. That means you can activate it alot in zerg fights triggering Virtue of Retribution a lot more times than you can with the current build.

Basically run in with your staff, constantly tag enemies and as they start dropping you start spamming VoJ.

Not sure the 10 points in Radiance is worth it. The blind is nice but it’s more of an afterthought unless you can get 15 Radiance where it’s basically spammable in ZvZ. The Retribution on heal is nice but not worth the 10 points on it’s own. My opinion is 15 points in Radiance or no points in Radiance. I’m sure you can find better uses for those 10 points besides just addons (albeit nice addons) to abilities on 30-40 second cooldowns.

That’s true. SBI will not field the same numbers against FA as we’re fielding in the current matchup. We will field significantly less. Our fairweathers won’t show up for that match and neither will half of the “WvW” guilds that transferred in recently. It will be the same people that we fielded back in May plus a few of the transfer guilds.

seriously? The map was queued and you had the outmanned buff? How is that possible?

It’s happened to us two weeks in a row at reset on SBI for EBG. It takes about 10-20 minutes or so to work itself out.

So I said I was going to not post here for a while but this made me.

To the Dragonbrand Scout [WAR] guardian I fought outside/inside DB hills for around 5 minutes, I was going to try to add you to my party to say good fight. But then you went and laughed and threw siege on top of my body. So here goes.

Congratukitteninglations! You killed a glass cannon thief with a Healway guardian running GS and Sword/focus! It only took you the entire 5 minutes and I wasn’t even using D/P to escape into stealth. Frankly, I am embarrassed. My main is a guardian. The fact that it took you that long considering I was being painfully obvious I was going for the Backstab is ridiculous. Like seriously. I’ve killed thieves with that build in under a minute if they don’t go into stealth. I was so fricken glassy that one spin to win would have killed me if you had used your pull, which was on me for half the fight! Here’s a tip! If the 5 skill isn’t in cooldown, it means it hit, even when I am in stealth! So that’s your sign to drop Symbol of Wrath, hit 5, and then hit 2 to grind me to dust. Finish me off with a 3 on the Gs and a 3 on the Sword and the laugh and siege drop would have been acceptable.

This has been your friendly PSA on how to fight glass cannon thieves with a healway guardian! Thank you for your time.

Shatterer, Jormag, most temple events…if you’re smart and watch the timers you can get dragonite from the event by spending as little as five minutes outside of WvW at a time. They couldn’t have made it easier or more accommodating. Sometimes you actually have to make an effort to get the things you want.

Yeah, SBI has never seen tier 1 numbers or faced them blobs, so yeah we have no idea what to expect. We have actually never faced a sever who has greater numbers than us nor have we EVER had the outnumbered buff on any map. Pvforuming in this thread is just bad :/.

In general we have a lot of new guilds/faces and we need to get more organized which will happen over time. Under no illusion that we can handle TC and don’t really care but thanx for all the attention and concern about our server. You all are precious <3.

I doubt most of the people commenting in this thread about how we’ll fare in Tier 1 and 2 realize we’ve already fought those servers with maybe 10% of our current population.
