The server he is on is full at that time. As far as I am tracking, status changes depending on how many people are logged on at that time so if you look at it during an off-peak hour you might see it not full.

Reported for calling you what you were? 20 min of asking is excessive to say the least. You only added that “asked one time” once we called you out on being a beggar. Flag away. Just calling it as I see it.

You can go to your main city (Hoelbrak, Black Citadel, The Grove, Rata Sum, Divinity Reach) and take the asura fast travel gates to Lions Arch (main game hub) and take the asura gates there to the other cities and hit the start zones from there.

I always help people with stuff when they ask in LA but I’m not going to throw money at them. Need help with a boss? I’m down. Help on a hard dungeon path? I’m your man. There is a difference between being a helpful community and catering to beggars.

As for hearts, you can’t just go from one heart to the next and expect to be leveled enough to leave the zone. You need to do hearts, events, and kill other creatures/animals. (Animals give large exp bonus).

What “farming” gear could you possibly need to buy at level 10? I mean seriously, what in the world are you farming? I purchased my first piece of gear at lvl 80. Everything else was from karma venders or loot.

And like the guy above me said. People don’t like beggars. I HATE them. Money is not hard to come by in this game so just stop being lazy and go do something for it. There are so many things to do and see in this game, idk why people have such a hard time enjoying it.

I’m surprised that, as a challenge, more people aren’t running dungeons with fewer players.

There are people who run them with less. For instance there is a couple people who post on here about running AC with only 2 people, it is doable. Unfortunely some paths require 5 people to progress (CoF path 1/3 come to mind) otherwise you can’t move forwards.

I have no problem with the explorable mode being very difficult (rewards need to be earned), but as it stands right now the story mode seems like a bit too much for the average player.

Only problem is that dungeon rewards for explore mode, outside of tokens, aren’t good enough to justify some of the super difficult paths.

Not having trinity works great! I run with a 30 man guild and we always have a odd assortment of toons running dungeons. Just last night we ran CoF path 2 with 4 mesmers and a necro. And I’ve run SE (after patch) with 5 warriors and managed it just fine. (2 spec shout/heal, 1 toughness, 1 banner heal, 1 crit w/ax. Worked surpassingly well.)

Just because you run 2 support guardians doesn’t mean its the only way to play, most of our runs don’t even have guardians in them.

Just playing 8 hours on the weekend, you could probably do it in 4, maybe 5, weekends or so if you really pushed it. Harvest, Craft, do events/hearts.

I don’t know your name, or your buddies name, but I just want to thank you both very much. I was running solo through your borderland this evening to get the last skill point I needed to 100% all the WvW maps. I was up in the Northwest corner killing the Skritt King when you both rolled up on me. You both sat back and killed the other skritt while I finished off the king for the point. Unfortunately you proceeded to turn me inside out after that, but I can understand.

When somebody says their “Gear is good” or wants to see your “gear” they mean what armor/trinkets/weapons you have equipped.

You can buy gear with the tokens. If you don’t actually want it yourself you can either

A. Buy rare armor pieces and salvage them for possible ectos + w/e crafting mats

B. Buy rares/exotics and throw them in the forge and the result you actually can sell on the TP

Supposedly the “outmanned” buff does not apply to karma jugs, but I have yet to confirm this with my own jugs. It’s been posted here on the forums before a couple of times though.

IGN.com posted a short article about it, I don’t know where they got the info the put into it but they mention that there will be a weekend long events (which we knew from homepage) but there will be one event, on the 18th, being “hours long” that will change Tyria forever (not from homepage). Mentions something about new content being added because of this hours long world changing event.

Unfortunately my account was banned by mistake and I missed the end of the event. I hadn’t bought my recipes yet but have over 1000 candy corns saved up. It’s hard to justify having 6 bank slots filled with them for a year without being certain

To answer your question, yes GW will have holiday events similar to Mad King periodically during the year with Halloween and Windersday (Christmas) being the two biggest ones. With the candy corn you have saved you can either A) save it and wait for next year, craft what you can with it, or C) sell it on the TP when prices go up and make some money.

Dungeon explore mode POI don’t count towards map completion. You’re probably missing the ones in WvW.

I couldn’t answer your questions about Guardian but from what you suggested I might recommend Engineer. I’ve got one and they’re really diverse and have a lot of different build types to suit your play style, and they wear medium armor so they’ve got something going on there.

I ran this twice with two different groups yesterday and it worked just fine. One of them did run down and hide in the hallway on one go around but that was it.

Good question, I’ve been stockpiling them in the bank to use with booster. Probably should have researched this before waiting.

I’m actually interested in this as well. I’ve noticed that bleeding doesn’t follow much of a set pattern when used on enemies in combat. You’d expect it to be like poison, every second, but it seems to be more erratic than that.

Check the ? symbol at the top. Thats the “hints” menu and scroll down and see which one you haven’t learned yet. I know some of them you have to create other classes in order to see.

I wish I would have spent more time with different weapons equipped. I mean I did just enough to unlock all the skills and what not but on my warrior I just used GS/Longbow from level 15-80. Never really needed anything else but there are so many different, cool things that other weapon sets allow you to do like combo-ing with others in different ways

Its not a bug. More ghosts spawn as she keeps repairing the mortars. You were able to kite enough and not kill to get 2 mobs to spawn. Once you guys died, they killed her, and wait on the mortar. Thats how its always been. You gotta focus fire on one at a time and hope your team is good enough to slowly take them out one by one.

Eh, like they said, you can skip or you can nuke the trash and clean up the silver enemys. Just have somebody call target and hit that one. If everybody focus’ fire then you can take them down rather quickly. I recommend the ones that throw bombs first, they cause the most knockdown.

The problem I see here though, is that it doesn’t make sense to practice these challenges with your armor on. Because 90% of the time the challenge itself does not rely on armor at all, and includes some sort of gimmick that instantly kills your character if you get it wrong. Take for example, the insta-kill blossoms in TA, or the insta-kill bees in TA, or the golem suit through the cave of invincible insta-kill spiders in Arah, or the boss in TA with the swarms of exploding insta-kill nightmares. Seeing a problem here?

Why would you attempt these “challenges” (read: gimmicks) with your armor on?!

Further more, if this doesn’t instantly encourage players to look it up on the wiki, I don’t know what does. And thats bad!

There isn’t insta-kill blossoms, bees, or nightmares in TA. My guild runs these just fine, no wipes, the occasionally down but they almost always rally. Its all about team work and knowing how each other is going to play. I play warrior and so goes my buddy, when we team together we always use shout/heal build and use it to compliment each other while we’re in melee range. He uses his 3, then I, then he and you get the picture. We can pretty much keep ourselves alive without having to use the healing skill very often and with a necro who pulls all the conditions off us we don’t have much to worry about.

Exotics are only 13% better than rares. Gear isn’t the be all and end all in PvE, you should manage to run around Orr in even common or fine gear.

Oh please, can you be more patronising? People have been waiting years for this game, and you’re telling someone to quit a great game beause they’re not good at it? That’s like buying thousands of pounds worth of climbing gear for Mt.Everest, then chickening out because you’re not good at rock climbing.

That 13% better kitten. That 13% could be just what he was looking for. He never specified whether or not he was able to almost take mobs all the way out or if he got overwhelmed at the start and died. Maybe its all he needed along with a quick retool of his specs to get it done.

People also wait years to climb Mt. Everest, spend all the money, get partially up it and realize that they can’t do it/its not for them. More people don’t make it than actually make it. Maybe this profession just isn’t for him. Maybe this game just isn’t for him. Only time will tell.

There are plenty of ways to make money in this game. Go to WvW and follow a zerg, I come out with a ton of money/xp/karma for doing basically nothing. Go back to a zone you can handle. You might not even have the other lower areas done yet. I can promise you you’re sitting on some money in your materials right now. You’ve probably got a ton of stuff that you’ll never use because your two crafting professions don’t require it. Sell it.

But if it comes down to it and you feel “you can’t get any farther” then you can leave. Nobody is making you stay. I’m enjoying the kitten outta this game and appreciate what Anet has done, is doing, and will probably continue to do. This game may just not be for you.

ok so why dont you try running the dungeons with less than 3 heavy classes and let me tell you on my engineer i take aggro from the best of them and i cant tank only evade and that doest work when mobs can perma stun/daze or root you in a game where every 1 sec can mean death being stunned/dazed or rooted for mor than 3-7 secs is rediculous and even though i get 2 things that can crear the conditions because mobs have no cool downs the root/daze or stun you instantly after clear the contition and if you run a group with less than 2-3 heavys theres gonna be alot of death and the dungeons arent fun ive gottin to 80 and got 100% of the map cleared and ive tryed every possible combo of sigils/runes/trait setup and spell combos and there are still classes i cant compete with witch is why im asking for a refund plz gw2 give my money back your games dungeons are horride.

Please tell me you didn’t graduate any sort of schooling because if you did, your teachers should be slaughtered for passing you. Secondly, my guildmates and I run dungeons with only one heavy. Me. We’ve got an assortment of thieves, ele, mesmers, and rangers that run to fill the other slots. Its not all about standing there and taking all the damage or attempting to deal a ton before dying. Glass cannons don’t work here. If you get a good team, who plays well together, who have builds that compliment each other then dungeons are fun and rewarding (especially Arah explore). Do we wipe on occasion? Sure, once in a while we get overwhelmed or we get lag. Who cares?

Personally I can see 2 things wrong with your build from my perspective. 1) You’re wearing Rare armor, Exotic has better stats but if you don’t have the money obviously you can’t just purchase it but there is always crafting. 2) I feel that you have your traits all spread out, the farther you get down a trait line the better the bonuses/attributes are.

I assume you’re playing as the level 80 ele in your signature. How are you having a hard time with those zones? Ele is incredibly powerful when built properly. There are builds where you are basically invulnerable where you can run around and take hits all day. Maybe try and respec yourself.

People on these forums just like to complain. Out of control repair bills? Nah, if you don’t die you don’t have to worry about it. All these “non-fun, trial and error dungeon parts” you talk of aren’t that big of a deal. Every game has trial and error parts and during said parts you’re pretty much expected to die figuring it out. If you continue to die because you/your team can’t figure it out or is too incompetent to complete it then shame on you.

^ Not always true. Being level 80 makes a considerable difference in the fact that you have the trait points/abilities that you’ve unlocked being that much higher as well as having significantly more utility skills unlocked. Absolutely you can do the dungeons at their specified level and complete them just fine (I did every storymode with in 3 levels after hitting the required) and WvW is great no matter what level, you’ll just be a little bit less effective in 1v1 combat.

Well Mesmer is a tough class to master but once you master it with certain builds you can be a powerhouse in PvE and PvP.

They’re loot drops in their respective areas, use the wiki to find the areas.

^This. Loadstones should cost like 200 or so tokens. That’s basically 1 a day if you do all 3 paths for 60 tokens.

Jumping into WvW does bump your stats to 80 but it doesn’t unlock all your skills. You walk in with what you’ve unlocked, so basically 5 utility skills, 2 slots, and no elite skills.

Personally that’s why I never leave a zone without 100%. No need to worry about 3 poi, 5 vista and a WP if you never leave zones unfinished.

It’s easier if everybody just goes back to the starting WP except for one. Nobody needs to die, and Magg just follows the person closest to the objective. So have one person cross lava while every waits at WP. Same plan as above but nobody has to die.

No they don’t scale like that. I’ve finished dungeon runs with four people because somebody quit on us but its not recommended. They’re rough with 5 let alone attempting less.

Actually weapons don’t break according to my knowledge. Armor on the other hand only gets “damaged” when you die and “breaks” if you continue to die after all your pieces have been “damaged”. There isn’t a durability meter or anything like that and as far as I’m tracking you can’t tell which piece is going to be damaged/break next.

Just complete daily/monthly achievements. You get a jar of karma worth 4.5k, save a few, use karma token for 50% increase and take them all. I took all 10 given from the monthly and got 62.5k that way. Or WvW and link up with a Zerg and take points, I can make 5-6k in a hour and a half or so.

^ this, half my guild is in the Northeastern part of the country. Dungeon running is going to be boring without my usuals lol.
