With might runes and 30 into SA you can run around pvp with constant 20 stacks of might… With nothing in SA that is 3600 power easy….

meaning you can run 30 SA in pvp and be worth a kitten Also you don’t die in a little sneeze.
That does not make SA OP, it makes it a good trait line. One of the best in the game infact.

So instead of doing different armor or runes you suggest just changing the skills where you have at least 30 in SA and if wanted 15 in Acro ?
Until you get used to bosses and dungeons, then you can go for a more glassy build if you want.
But there is no need to use defensive based armor or runes.
I play 0-30-30-10-0 for PvE and it works perfect.

Thieves Don’t need toughness for PvE, 30 SA will give you all the sustain you need for PvE, one can also add 15 Acrobatics as well if wanted for more dodging but that is not realy needed.

I see supply traps all the time, stealth traps not so much yet. The best build I have found though is to play my Mesmer.
On Tarnished Coast I never seen anyone else with D/D, I just enjoy the style. As far as SPVP goes I’ll get back to you when there are more game modes lol.

Yet I still encounter around 7 out of 10 thieves still using it! They live and die by their heartseeker.
I use D/D/BS still. No one spams Heartseeker, do they? :O

It’s fun using it on Slave Driver only to get smashed as the party moves him in circles hitting everyone!
evade thieves dont last very long in wvw :P stealth also has +50% movement which in d/p is perma speed so :P idk….and when u use speed your heartseeker goes farther too.
I’m using shadowstep a lot not really evading, although I do evade a lot in during combat sometimes with endurance reduction trait which let you dodge 3 times. Sword skill 2, infiltrator signet and steal give you a big leap, you can also run with shortbow skill 5 afterward.
From what I understand 33%(out of combat) is the max speed possible, that 50% movement speed only affect you when you are in combat since your speed is reduced significantly otherwise it’s capped at 33%(out of combat) speed. Also it says that trait is bugged on wiki.

s/d only has more IN COMBAT mobility. out of combat d/p is the champ. infil strike only works in one direction then you go back until aobut 14 secs later is when it resets to use again…… shadow shot, however can be use on rabbits and mobs/other players to get away or to a certain direction. so they both have the same utilities but infiltrators step only works once every 14 or 15 secs. you can spam shadow shot 5 times or so maybe more if u use other skills
the 50% speed on stealth actually does work….rarely but it does work. even the times that it doesnt….it still gives 33% minimum so you are still going faster than d/p…..they both get swift on rolls so d/p can stay perma swift if he wanted to
I had it work just the other day and boy does it feel great when you do get that 50% boost!
I still get a good laugh out of Thieves vs bunker Rangers, but see no reason to nerf these builds.
They serve there purpose and there are ways to counter them.
This is true and very easy to test as well, run COF-P2 and the end boss will always stick to whoever has the highest toughness.
If yours is the lowest and you try to grab him and hold him in the other room he will ignore you completely.
Is there a way to make this build work with LB/SB power/prec/crit?

Since the patch activity seems to have dropped alot, whats going on.
By playing thief, you are already playing at a disadvantage to at least 4 other professions whose very powerful builds are all capable of holding their own vs every profession and who can easily beat thieves…

This new trap’s main purpose is to stop the Veil-zerg; nothing more.
Shortsighted much? Ranger cat pets? Thieves? It effects many things.
As Thieves most of us would have been fine with Ranger’s or Engi’s having a reveal. But a Trap is just stupid.
We Don’t get ignored, we get stepped on and kittenin the face. That is something.
We all have massive unused karma though.
Maybe I misread the release notes. I thought they costed the 15 badges and the 525 karma. Is it actually one or the other? If so, I’m buying stacks with karma as soon as I get off work!

…What the hell were they thinking? Remove Stealth for a full 30 seconds on basically EVERYONE within 1200 YARDS? And the trap stays in place for a full HOUR?
Those things will be EVERYWHERE around any keeps or camps or… basically anything important.
All we can do now is relentlessly hunt down and destroy any scrubs that use these stupid things for revenge.
How do you pick up the loot? Won’t it rot after an hour?
We only need traps for Thieves to help the disabled player base.
