I’ve mostly played S/F but I just started learning it a few days ago

So I’m not looking for a dedicated team. I’m looking for a pvp community that I can grab some people from for some tPvP games. Preferably mature and laid back. I’m top 1000 in both queues and rank 57ish. Can play anything but engi pretty well.

So I’m running full assassin’s armour/weapons and berserker trinkets. I’ll probably suck it up and buy a sigil of force for MH sword but I don’t know what to do for OH. I want an all purpose one so I don’t have to mess around with swapping night/undead/justice/whatever depending on where I am.

I’m 6/4/0/X/X if it makes a difference.

For the sake of rolling an alt and going into PvP, what is the lowest level shoulder armour you can get?

What salvage kits should I be using at level 65+? Thus far I’ve been using basic ones on blues and lower and then fine on green and selling yellows. Also, how worthwhile are the region reward tracks in pvp? I’m done the Krytan one and the reward seems meh.

Save up til 20 then blow it all. Salvage everything you don’t want and try to get slivers

Paid tournies now cost 2-3 tickets. Adjust rewards accordingly. Done.

No one wants to pay 5 tickets to lose to PZ in the first round.
Not everyone has 150+ tickets built up like the better teams from launch.
The best teams still farm qualifying points like they should and not as good teams can play more paid tournies without worrying about losing every ticket they own.

Still works. Is probaly a bug but so many of people have done it now that they don’t want to bother fixing it

The shortcut from side point to clock is way easier on red side. Takes ~5-7 less seconds to do and has a much lower fail rate.

Blue side can see the base of their treb cliff a lot more clearly than red can because of the way the pallets are positioned around the top of the cliff which means they see people coming a lot more easily.

pls fix (by making blue side easier to jump on as well as blue side having less vision)

And you get a tactical nuke when you get 25 kills without dying

Um, excuse, but no. LoL balances on top ELO players. And DotA does little to aim to perfect balance.

Removing backstab, deathlotus, heartseeker and pw is the same as remaking the whole thief or removing it from the game. So, sorry man that i have to tell you, but you have to learn to deal with it.

LoL does not balance only for “top” players at all. http://www.reignofgaming.net/tier-lists/competitive-tier-list. Tier 1 has been largely the same forever and guess what in any pro game most if not all the champions will be from that list. Riot even has an “antifun” policy where they nerf things purely because they are not fun to play against.

DotA2 has nerfed huskar/ursa repeatedly despite them being worthless in comp games BECAUSE the community thinks they are op. Also, like LoL, there are about 20 or so heroes at any given time which are pickable in comp games.

Maybe next time argue with facts instead of spreading misinformation.

Fastest way is to win tourneys, if you do not want to try that yet then just follow the zerg in sPvP matches. Make sure to always get the free 20 points you get from neutralizing and capturing a point. Don’t bother defending, the enemy zerg will make quick work of you even if it is only 2 people. Always do damage to any moving enemy, even if you can’t get the kill. Also stomping gets you more points than killing them when they are down. Always kitten the treb on Kyhlo, if no one comes to stop you, it is easy as hell to make it rain and rack up points. Never focus on winning, win bonus is often not worth it. If you are good enough, getting the top kills / revives / captures / neutralizes / boss kills can give nice points.

MindlessRuff, your post makes me very sad. The reason is because it’s 100% accurate. The game (SPVP) rewards people for playing the way my 10 year old nephew always plays…

sPvP is designed for glory farming, tPvP is designed for trying to win. If it was meant to be any other way they would have designed it differently

I totally agree that this is the way they designed it, doesn’t mean I agree with their design(and in turn doesn’t mean that you agree with my disagreeing with it).

I think the goal of any game should be to win. Even Anet’s own philosophy has always been to remove the need for farming; however, SPvP is exactly what they stated they would try to prevent. It’s mindless farming for the sake of gaining points and not for the sake of fun or winning.

Just my 2c and I’m sure many will disagree with me (albeit a minority imo)

It’s the same as Lol’s setup

sPvP/Customs are for trying builds and facerolling newbs
Free tPvP/Normals are for practicing comps and your prof in more controlled environment
Paid tPvP/Ranked is for srs business

Glory points and rank don’t matter. People only complain because the other way of measuring how good people are (leaderboards) aren’t implemented yet and getting glory takes a while, especially 39+

I’ma just break this down into popular builds right now and pick your argument apart.

Hammer warrior never ever kills guardian alone ever for any reason
Hammer warrior never kills a necro with any life force due to fearing even while stunned
Hammer warrior never kills a mesmer because distortion and blurred frenzy exist on every mesmer build thats popular
Hammer warrior never kills ele because ~8s stability at 50% health on most ele builds because dps ele is bad and you deserve to die
Hammer warrior never kills engi because smoke bomb/elixir s/plethora of interrupts exist
Hammer warrior should never kill thief because lolwut?
Hammer warrior might be able to kill hammer warrior under right circumstances

anvil rock is the server with most of the high tier teams and highest pop in the mists, ive also heard stormbluff is popular

Use boosts and play tournies

Defenitely not necro or warrior so guardian then. Necros only good for epidemic and wells which are all aoe teamfight skills. Warriors no healing so theyre out

normal good team compisition that constantly win and are mostly guild oriented seem to be a mesmer a guardian as tank maybe a warrior if hes lucky but more likely an engineer who is just running around while you chase after him playing bomberman or knock you back around and forth around the map and 1 elementalist either burst or boonspecced or a burst thief to steal your forest boss at the start.

it’s very hard to counter such a team kitten random pugs wich probably consist of 1 or 2 necros who are guildless a bullrush warrior a mesmer who think hes superman because he facerolled his keyboard in spvp and ranger who pewpew from afar.

What teams are you going against? triple bunker and 2 roamers is the meta right now

-Get a thief to place a Shadow Trap near the trebuchet.

Thief shadowtrap range is way shorter than portal range, you can’t even go to a side point. Mesmers shouldn’t be able to take kit through portals. Easy fix and balances the map a ton. All they need to do is change how meteor shower interacts with treb and it’s whatever. Support ele’s need a general nerf anyways

been using it for a week or two at relatively high level tPvP. Pretty much have to land immobilize for it to go well but flesh golem knockdown works too

play tpvp and 2 of your problems are gone
