Been running something similar since the patch, except taking defy pain and Frenzy along with Ep and Z Stance, The removal of the negative effect being replaced with might synergises well with builds like SC imo. Especially with FG, BP and the new HF proc. Once you bait out invulns/stun breaks you can chain off the SC, 100b , AS WW and Rush + a few auto’s all under quickness from Frenzy into HF proc while stacking 15- 20+ might stacks pretty quickly. Also as already said, you have access to quickness rez/stomps

@ Final – depends on what condi build it is but from my experience from playing a full melee build properly played necro is the hardest to deal with followed by engi’s. while condi thieves, condi warriors and mesmers are easier to deal with. it also depends on where you are fighting them and if there and any terrain to take advantage of.
@Cygnus i was using air for a while but ended with intell due to the fact without fury or UF proc my crit chance is only 24% base ( 31% with the food ) and when i would get caught in gs without the SC set up i felt WWA BT and Rush weren’t critting enough overall to keep pressure .I do agree tho ideally Air would be the better option if your stats are better optimized

One of the best roaming group from Mag challenged RIOT openly on the forum for 5v5 and/or roaming fights and was either turned down or made excuses that they couldn’t 5v5. A lot of roamers during the BG/Mag/JQ/SOR season 1 wanted to see that fight but it never happened.

Sigh.. the sate of gw2 is depressing, What happened,, happened. you caught a 4 man napping with sum pugs while fighting the npc. Everyone gets caught at some point, no one is denying the fact it was/ looks bad. Myself personally id expect a massive target on us when eotm opened up with it being open to more then just the weeks match up.
Btw i wasn’t in the group that night, we have more then just 5 members, might not wan’t to assume things, you can try and justify the video all you wan’t but can you be less obvious with all the backhanded complements? one line you write good guys/fights ect ect. next line is this video is a direct counter statement to low tier players being bad. DM in gw2 is a LOT of fun and the game is by nature much better balanced with DM in mind. if you take away conquest, build diversity explodes. this is why WvW and GvG are so popular, and spvp is not.
conquest involves way more strategie and teamplay, the difficultie ist naturaly higher. with having the option to just simulate a deathmatch people will obviously go for the deathmatch. after all it’s more fun to kill people rather than out strategize them.
conquest involves more mobility and map awareness, but it kills build diversity. and one thing that cant be denied is that conquest is not fun to play or watch. most pvp’ers dont participate in spvp (theyre in wvw), and the mode is literally impossible to watch and commentate.
couldn’t agree more, its why myself and many others i know WvW, just because its as close to a DM style of play as possible atm not to mention allows build diversity.
If GvG’s were 5 v 5 fights or id go as far and say 10 on 10 ( although i think that’s a bit much imo, but could possibly work ), id support it and even take part in it but currently its nothing more then a Zerg on Zerg fight. You people do the same to each other as what larger zergs do, only difference being you pre set the fight and even the number try to justify it as skillful play.
As much as i hate S/Tpvp being conquest, and would prefer it to be TDM at least Anet understands that 1 group v 1 group is what skilled play is. That’s why 5 on 5 ‘s are being pushed as a competitive atmosphere and not 20 v 20’s.

The video although not to flame the creator as myself and many of my friends make pvp videos and i enjoy watching others and they do take some effort to make, is not a good representation when you have sub 80’s in it imo, id cut out the sub 80’s and just stick to lvl 80’s either 1v1 or 1vX’s only as it gives you the best opportunity to showcase, may they be good players or bad but its as even as it can get when they are the same lvl as you in WvW. only other option is to duel
Its like making a build for Tpvp and recording it in action just doing hot joins to promote its viability. To give a better point/showcasing would to be recording team tourneys to replicate as best a competitive/even setting as possible for example.
The stun duration is to long for being on such a short CD… all the counters being said on how to avoid it can be said about anything in this game, if that was the case to simply d/r, blind, stun break, use stability, ect ect nothing in this game should ever be nerf’d.
Regardless if Anet nerf’s it or not, i know i’ll continue to use and abuse it for as long as its viable to do so.
12k’s for Evis’s is not that high, you can drop those numbers with out being fully glass. i’ve broken 20k+ on lvl 80’s multiple times , max i have been able to get has been 22.5k on an 80 with just self buff’s. you could prolly do close to 30k if you had full might stacks fully debuff’f target and banners.
i’ll 1v1 him naked if he gets his warrior to 80.

its balanced the way it currently is. although positioning and proper target selection is hard for 99% of the games pvp player base in both wvw and s/tpvp maybe it should be insta cast.

If riot is a “5man guild looking for out manned fights” and considered a legit 5man this is pretty laughable. RIOT and Icoa are quite similar in tactics and skill. I wish RIOT actually faught people 5v5+ but they are part of the karma train and run from my 3 man often.

S/Tpvp is as broken if not more broken then WvW, idk why people live in this fantasy world of structured pvp being balanced.
The game and its player-base is to casual to support anything competitive. when you talk about skilled/competitive fights in WvW its usually 30v30 us bro. like when did that become a thing?.. its the complete reverse from other mmo’s, zerging is glorified while small mans 5v5 or 5vX is basically not cared about.
myself i came from Warhammer 6v6’s Rift and Swtor 4v4’s 8v8’s. i unfortunately never had to chance to play DAOC. but for some mind blowing reason the gw2 player-base wants to 5x those numbers, spam 1 and claim skilled fights.
As already said in a few other posts, you could try T1 JQ or SoR and basically run into OPP or RIOT, but that’s it, the only reason to be in t1 is you can find ppl to kill 24/7 other then thakittens a horrible tier to be in, if a fight lasts more then a few mins, expect add’s or to be zerg’d its really sad. id do 5v5’s all day if it was possible in this game.
What kind of gear is required to reach that level of damage? I really want to run a high risk/reward build like this but I can’t seem to come close to those numbers.
just running full zerker gear with the divinity rune set/blood lust stacks.

Yep with the lack of boon nerf if you’re running glassy and your against a bunker>>run. All it takes is one keyboard face roll from a tanky guardian.

lmao i should have, yeah the stacks are blood stacks and the more defensive built players were around the 9 – 13k range.
The video was done mostly to see what i could hit for with eviscerate’s, ( could be more if i took DoE, ) although that said its not the most optimal zerker build if you want to run glass in a group but you can switch around the utilities for more stun breaks/stability/ condi removal ecct. My view of the way the warrior currently is its either be dps, or be useless, Even when i run hammer/X( 99% of the time GS) in a 5 man, i still use all zerker gear the only thing that changes is a runeset/food and build obvi.
@ warlord and Kill, no hate or trolling taken, everyone is entitled to post what ever their view is, i’ll try and reply to some of your points.
yes its glass, has little condi removal aside from imoba’s on movement or heal, bunker heavy condie builds are hard fights, most common ones being necros/engies, if i can’t pressure then enough with in the first few seconds of a fight and put them on the defensive i have to disengage/reengage, same with any fights may it be v1, 2v1, 3v1 ect, anyone who roams does the same, you want to have the advantage in a fight, reset if not ect. as annoying/frustrating it can be , weather its being done to you or you the opposition. it would be poor play not to do so.
CC heavy builds most common being guards or warrior between EP, D/R , SB ect it should be enough to avoid the CC being tossed around with out stability. it does happen if you make a mistake and eat a full CC rotation it has the possibility to stun lock you down, you will die at times, its unavoidable. What my experience regardless of the build you run on a warrior, you don’t have room for a lot of error, and if your running glass, you make a mistake the fight becomes incredibility harder.
As for the S/T pvp vs WvW skill argument its a moot point. both are filled with bad or less the average players, i myself know a lot of skilled players that hate the fact Tpvp is about pve capping points to “win” much like wvw is, although switched to wvw bc its the next best thing to a TDM style of play while all the zergers run around pve doors to “win”.
i could go into duel rooms and make a video of it, but it will render the same result, you beat X or Y class only because said player is worthless and so on, not to mention the warrior is at an even worse state in structured pvp due to the same fundamental class flaws on top of the heavy dmg reduction on DD due to the stat cap.
again it is a montage, high light, pvp video, witch ever you prefer to call it, you just have to take it for what it is. like any other pvp video in any game, not just gw2.
myself personally id love to run set 5 v 5’s, duels, 2v2’s 3v3’s ect, or some forum of competitive play in wvw ( not talking about the 30 v 30 1 spam GvG fights pretty comical people say that takes skill…) but this game just doesn’t have the community for it, wvw or structured its to casual from the player base to class complexity imo.
Myself like many others have quit or are just waiting around for something better to come along that has that competitiveness fueled by hate and drive to constantly improve . just dons’t happen when you can pick any class and be good at it with in a few days of play time.
Not sure what to say, With the changes in the recent balance patch.. i decided to give AS/GS another go in my zerker set to take advantage of some of the changes and see the kind of dmg i can achieve. For wvw its over the top imo, i can consistently drop 17-20k+ Eviscerates while having as high kitten – 9k Non crits and still over 10k with my target having protection up. .

It can also be run with MH S, although it takes longer to set up and harder to hit with, Final Thrust can hit roughly the same or possibly more then Evsic’s, iv’e gotten 17 – 19k hits but a lot lower success rate due to how the skill functions and how you have to set it up not to mention keeping yourself and your target below 50% while setting the ability up is a pita.

burst in general needs to be toned down in WvW. every class has the ability to 1 – 3 hit when they go full glass. it doesn’t matter how much toughness you have, if its not being stacked with Protection you are still going to be hit hard.
as mentioned i don’t really 100b/hammer 4 ect.. unless its for fan dmg on a downed player or to interrupt a rez. i really hate abilities that don’t allow a player to be mobile when pvping.
two AOE imoab’s and a leap vs 1 st imoba, slow attacks and 0 mobility. hard choice :s.
it really is the worst idea i have ever seen put into a mmo, let alone a mmo who claims pvp superiority over any other.

Its more of lack of ways to heal yourself back up you cant play the attrition playstyle most classes can. DPS is the way to go on a War.
yeah basically. with out the proper tools at the warrior’s disposal you don’t gain anything rather you lose trying to build for something we can’t attain by ourselves.

Okay. But If you had the -98%. does that make you immune to movement conditions? Like they don’t even get on you in the first place?
they will hit you then come right off. near immunity not fully. also remember there is a +40% condition duration food. so that drops the reduction you get.

@warload Thanks and yeah deff do not wan’t people to automatically think if i run X Y or Z build its an auto win option. you get hard punished for mistakes. its not as forgiving as other class’s imo.
As for DoE even if the target has every boon in the game on them, its only a 27% dps with protection being 33 decrease. although protection isn’t going to have a 24/7 up time in most cases it will drop/does drop while other boons are still active. witch is why i deiced to give a shot, but imo the trait could have been implemented better.
myself personally, i never been a fan of using the GS to MS outside of pve but have always wanted to try it. i may give it a go.

Alright, i haven’t posted up a warrior video in a while so deiced to do this one with a commentary after being assaulted with tells in game to try one :P. so here it is, along with the current hammer/gs build and gear sets i run with, slightly changed from my previous hammer/gs video.

This is my first attempt at doing a commentary ever, so its not going to be perfect, i tried to use fights that lasted more then 10s so i would at least have some stuff to talk about, it is a longer video, but thats mostly due to the first few mins i go over traits/gear/ect.. any further ones will have more footage and higher quality fights ect.
Again This is a WvW video, where the warrior is slightly more viable, not saying its the best wvw class, it has its issues in wvw to,, but it is not as poor as it is in Tpvp. Everyone is aware of the warrior’s position on a 5 man roster. but that’s more of a warrior design + Tpvp design. its not fully just a class issue. ( Conquest in a mmo, did anyone really expect anything less then a tank/healer to be viable class options? i didn’t )
anyways, give feed back/ constructive criticism/ discuss and so on, if people want more commentary’s i’ll make them, or i can go back to the standard music and montage.

imo it was the standard glass dps mmo warrior. but at some point may have changed and resulted in the state the class is currently in. atm running full GC is alright in wvw, is top in PvE but the stat cap in s/tpvp cripples that along with all the other flaws with the class and S/Tpvp itself.
Our Defensive builds/Support feels like its is just kinda there for if we want to try and be a support/tank but not be effective in anyway. lacking traits or having the traits but not enough thought wen’t into them thus resulting in long internal Cd’s or just poor idea’s all together.
where as we have plenty of % dmg increases in each our of trait lines.

I know. Ive seen your videos and Im a fan but in all honesty do you really think you can pull any of that stuff off in anything other than WVW? in pve enemies cheat the CC system and in tpvp zerker is extrememly UP since it only has around a 50% crit chance (even with unsuspecting foe it doesnt proc off knockdowns/backs)
Its even less viable if you are trying to use it as a main weapon in WVW zergs (not roaming) without having to swap to a GS to get any damage output after the initial ES.
On a lighter note I actually laughed abit when I realized in your videos I had a similar Spvp build to what you use for WVW and I can tell you its significantly less “OP” in Spvp and significantly more borderline viable. In WVW I can only imagine it would be good for roaming though I cannot say much more since I havent tried… yet.

T/S pvp unless they change the stat cap and get away from conquest being the main game mode i honestly believe warriors will never be a viable class. they don’t do enough splitting of abilities to make changes that don’t directly effect S/Tppv/WvW and PvE at the same time. in the case of the hammer, the dmg just isn’t there due to your stats being nerf’d.
PvE – mobs do cheat the CC system and it can’t compare to the gs/axe, the only thing would be to increase its dmg/attack speed, since they can’t let you CC boss mobs. but again that would push it over the top imo for wvw.
i think if we want to see a hammer buff with things such as cast time decreases’s or cd reductions it would have to take a dps nerf in WvW/Pve first before it can happen imo.

actually surprised, the changes sound decent at least.. it will give me a reason to fraps again.
no where near the fotm. warriors are in the boat in wvw as they are in s/tpvp. if you run with one small scale its glass, if you run in the zerg doesn’t mater what your build is, toss on dat auto run and spam 1.

i hope they buff signets like they did with banners, it really made the viability of them skyrocket. i can only imagine how good 5 signet builds will soon be.
