It’s only going to get worst. HoT has to be hands down the worst expansion Anet has ever released. No wonder people quit this game.

I maps been dead for quite a while, most people did it from the beginning and abandon the expansion. That’s why I don’t recommend anyone buying HoT at this point anymore.

Why bother nerfing after 6 month and many people quitting in disgust. A little too late!

I left because of the expansion too, I check the forums once in a while to see if they have fixed anything. My son stop playing after the expansion along with a couple dozen of my guildies. I tried to jump back on a few times but the feeling for GW is sort of lost. I don’t know, maybe it disgust or boredom, I just can’t get myself back into it anymore. I think GW is over for me.

Agreed…this whole thing is so strange. I appreciate Gaile coming here, but in a way it seems forced, it doesn’t seem genuine.

That’s because you haven’t played Neverwinter. Anet are positively chatty in comparison and when they do communicate they are mostly honest. Cryptic, the Neverwinter devs, would say that they were listening to the feedback then make changes that made it worse….

Sounds familiar, but I do agree with most here, Anet is just plain terrible with communication. At this point I think they just ignoring us. They already got the $50 for HoT and if they will continue to shove things into the gem store, someone will buy it. So money will still flow in regardless. I guess you can say they probably reading the forum and laughing at us while wiping their tears of joy with $100 bills.

Thousands of players enjoy the daily Worldboss tour…Worldbosses are a core feature of GW2.
And there is not even one new Worldboss with HoT. We rely on taxis for organized maps…

Anet was trying to get rid of world bosses, we all remember the double hp all the bosses got, till ppl complained. People were making easy gold and converting them to gems…their cash cow.

Of course it matters and we are not talking about other companies. We are finally seeing where the disconnect internally and the end product of the expansion. Think about it…the disconnect between Anet employees is carried over with disconnect from players and expansion. Disgruntled employees and customers!

I felt that HoT was lacking the soul, charm and passion of the core game or the entire franchise, GW1 xpacs included. It was so radically different that I didn’t feel like I was playing a Guild Wars game.

You pretty much sum it up for me. GW is no longer GW, it’s something else now and not in a good way.

Has Anet communicated with us if any of our issues will be fixed? There seems to be a lot of unhappy customers, shouldn’t they be letting us know if they will fix it or not?

This isn’t the Anet it used to be.

The original group from GW1 left Anet, they had visions and knew what their player base wanted. This current Anet group lacks that vision, they are only concern about the gem store and pumping out full price $50 expansion. They are hoping to ride out the GW name that the originals created for as long as possible, but I guess this too might come to a crashing end.

I agree, stop making jumping puzzles. Most ppl do it once or park their toons. Why waste resources in developing that for a one time use?

Yeah, I agree with most here, don’t buy HoT, it’s not worth $50. Wait till it drop to $5-$10 or free. I wish I never pre-order this and save my $50 instead.

Oh hell No!!!! After this expansion, I’m pretty much done with this franchise. I don’t care is there’s GW 3, 4,5 or 10. I’m just so done with Anet, they don’t have the same visions as the original GW1 developer. It’s just getting worst and worst.

I regret it. I was more immerse into the game before HoT. Somehow the expansion just killed it for me, I have to force myself to log in. It’s just not fun anymore, maybe it’s just disappointment, waiting for 3 years and this gated mess is all we got?!?

The map is empty, it’s pretty depressing now. I think most people feel defeated and disappointed in Anet. It’s like it would have been better if the expansion never happened. It’s a shame, they had a brand name game and so much potential and they blew it.

I would think Druid is definitely the worst out of all those. The ranger class has been screwed left and right and now Anet made them a dedicated healing, actually it’s pretty comical.

I agree with OP, the expansion burned me out from the whole game, I was content before HoT, farming boss, fractal, dungeons…but now I just don’t have the motivation or energy to play this game anymore. I have moved on to Fallout 4 and I’m not sure I want to come back, Hot left a bad taste in my mouth.

Are you talking about the commander tags? Because most of us didn’t fork over 300 gold for nothing. First of all, a lot of players (like me) bought the commander tag for only 100 g. Secondly, we use it in WvW where you can’t use any mentor tags, anyway, so having a tag that can be used in both PvE and WvW isn’t a waste.

Congratz, you paid 100 gold a long long time ago. But there are ppl that just paid 300 gold just before the expansion.

You not alone OP, I’m in the same boat. I need a break from this mess, thank god Fallout 4 is release in a few hours.

I regret spending $50 on this crap when Fallout 4 is out in a couple of days.

I wouldn’t recommend paying $50 for it, the story is way too short, you can finish it in a couple of hours. Outside of that, its just a grueling boring grindfest.

Why not give the option of selling back your commander tag now that tags are free.

Agreed, most of my guildies just started the Halloween event this week because they were in HoT. It should not have been release the same time as the Expansion, to be fair it should at least be extended for another week.
