Actually as it stands you can get the full armor set with 3 track completions. 1 piece per completion as well as 240 tokens and 3 weapons. 3 completions with all those tokens you can buy the rest of the armor from the vendor in Lion’s Arch, along with 9 weapons to either use, salvage and sell ecto’s or take to the mystic forge and reforge.

PvPing is my favorite aspect of the game but with having to restart the game every 9/10 deaths it is pretty much unplayable for me. Note though, the test shows an intel graphics card for the test, but when the game is running it uses the Nvidia GPU my laptop has.

I have this problem occasionally as well not sure what causes it. The only time it really happens to me though is in tournaments. The only time I experience it regularly is in Forest of Nifflhel when I die at the keep. I’d have to say about 85% of my deaths at the keep in that map in tournaments leads me to eternal loading screen, but that is usually the only time I get them.

  • Light of Deliverance (Guardian) doesnt heal to full while in Death Shroud.

Not sure if it is just the guardians heal, I don’t think any heal affects your life while in DS as it temporarily removes your health bar in general.

Confirming, the graphic on ground placement shows increased area, but the combo field remains unsized with traited marks.

i think is not too hard to make more slot for characters becous you cant have 8 class and 5 slot to make them…i cant decide what character i want i got 2 character 80 lv and i want more but i think the slots is not enough pls make more slots or make it to buy them from AH with gems or something else… pls

You can already buy more character slots with gems, not sure what tab it’s in but it is already there.

Well To that point, DS is viable in all builds IMO, Why would you want to stack conditions in DS, Though it may be good. But imagine how slow the Condition stack to be. ITs general point is good utility/Sustainability. Nothing else IMO, Maybe some decent Dmg but nothing to over whelming.

The stacking may be slow but as of right now if a conditionmancer goes in DS form they pretty much have to fear and pop out or they lose all of the stacks they are putting up to begin with. IMO even if the stacking is slow and the damage output isn’t extremely high they will at least get a little bit of added survivability without having to worry about losing out on all the stacks of conditions they are building up on the enemies.

Nice to see that there are people that understand a class that is terribly broke and can still be viable. Also nice to see that intelligence isn’t completely and 100% lacking on these forums. A suggestion for your guide though Tony, regarding death shroud. Don’t try to balance it around 4 abilities, try to make it something that may be a 4 ability skillbar, but one on which that has multiple choices for the slots, this way abilities can be balanced around multiple necro builds and not just be mostly situation between all the builds.

Well im making a rework Idea to balance necros in the state of pvp right now. My main idea i have for DS is to make it so its on our skill bar and AS well as add a new skill #5 to be a Life force consumer to give Boons such as fury/might/protection
With consuming life force. My idea will look like #5 Force of Power- 0-50% 5 sec buffs of protection/fury/might50-75% 8 sec 75-100% 12 Seconds. So we necros can atleast have some boon stackage going on. Even though i can alreday see people being WHY WOULD U CONSUME LIFE FORCE AT 100%. its because im in a teamfight where i already know im going to get life force and if im not using any why cant i use it for something thats potentially good.

While I agree with the change to actually put the ability onto the utility bar and not have it treated as a down state, a fifth ability doesn’t mean much if there is still no customization of choices. With no customization of choices DS will still be a situational mode where you go in use maybe 2-3 abilities that synergize with your spec from it, and have others that just constantly remain untouched because they don’t work with the build at all. There should be a set of choices, for instance MM right now gets nothing from DS but a health buffer and a fear, same thing with conditionmancer. As a support/tanky necro, that is all I care about from the DS anyways, however, the power build actually benefits from all the abilities in DS as it currently stands, yet to get power we have to build glass cannon so life force drains to fast in comparison to the damage output that can be done in that time frame. Trying to balance the entire mode around 5 abilities when the game is all about playing the playstyle that suits you and you are skilled with, just detracts from that manner and encourages less variation between builds and, what best synergizes with all aspects of our class quirk, instead of, how can I make the class quirk work with the playstyle I enjoy using.

Plague form gives more than just an added heath pool, from what else i noticed it also almost doubles your total armor. If your spamming blind as well whose going to hit you to wack down through the added health and armor. Mind you, if you charge in against like 3-4 opposing players and have no other teammates with you then yes you will eventually be focused down, but the same goes for pretty much anyone trying to 1v3 1v4 skilled players.

First runs of story modes often have the same amount of 2-2.5 hours to them just from the learning curve. When you understand the full story mode and everyone else in the group does as well story modes generally range from 45 mins to 1.5 hours usually.

Ive never really found tanking trash mobs to be a concern (outside of a select few shenanigan types. cough grenadiers and gunners cough
It’s always just been how slowly they die, and how draining that is for a party, so I try and maximize DPS partywide without going full suicidal mode.

That’s my point exactly with my necro, I can pretty much hold all mobs attention, and usually once I put myself in combat all the mobs agg to me anyways, so being able to keep a constant blind up for 25 seconds effectively on the entire pack of mobs drastically reduces the damage output the rest of the group takes. The only problem I really have is generally the ranged mobs with a knockback. With the only reliable source of stability in my build coming from the elite, if the ranged mobs aren’t downed within the 25 grace period I give the groups free damage to kill them, things start to become a nightmare.

Finding a group for explore isn’t the Devs problem, it’s yours. Do you have any guildmates or friends you can party up with?

Pretty sure the point here isn’t about being able to find a group. The point here is people skipping part of the content for easy shards much like the CoF farming so getting into a group that actually wants to run the full content is hard. It also sucks worse because 1 of either 2 things happen when you don’t want to be like the rest of the group and just farm easymode and skip anything that is a challenge. 1). you get inst kicked out of the group and replaced. 2). the group just disbands and leaves you to your lones and either reforms/joins another group to get an easy farm run.

I play double dagger
I can proc 3 fire field + burst combo’s by myself in ~8 seconds.

I’ve also never had a problem surviving to proc my combo’s, even in explorables.

@ sjarch, yeah, necromancer dark fields are great. Blindness is just so nice for those shenanigan 1 shots. But ive found that giving 9-12 stacks of might to 5 people really speeds up the trash clearing, which is IMO the worst part of the dungeon.

Also When wielding the staff we also get the poison AoE field, great for putting weakness up on an entire group of mobs. With my spec being focused for Healing/toughness and the Vitality and Power, I can actually tank mobs relatively well since necros do share the highest base health in the game with warriors. All of the ways I can constantly mitigate damage by hampering the foes ability to dish it out, and keep a practically 100% uptime of some form of gaining health while doing it a good necro can bring a lot to the table in terms of overall group success.

So what we’re supposed to do is level to 80, use 400-level food, and buy exotic weapons to complete a level 30 story mode dungeon. Kittening brilliant!

Silly me: I just wanted to complete the story mode when the story was still relevant and I was thinking explorer mode was for later. How foolish I was.

Dungeon Story is irrelevant until you get to the last mission of personal story which is in the final dungeon, funny how that works. If you properly read what that blog said, it didn’t say you have to, it just said, it is easier to do with exotics/food buffs.

elementalist can lay down and proc combo fields better than any other class. At least fire ones for sure (which imo are the most useful, because 3 stacks of might is gooood)

Necro is pretty amazing with the ability to have 15 sec uptime of dark combo field and 10 sec uptime of light combo field, area blindness/lifesteal, and area retaliation/romove condition. Plague form 20 secs of constant blind = amazing. Add to that i spec for healing/toughness and mobs have a grudge and choose to beat on me constantly even when the entire group is pummeling them and I just use well of suffering once, I become an amazing tank.

If your friend is a necro and you plan on running with him constantly, get him to use wells, any of the classes you listed you want to play will synergize sith the constant upkeep of combo fields/enemy debuffing a necro can apply.

PS. I have no respect for anyone wearing CoF armor. You know why, nubs. :P

I intend to get that set but i haven’t even run story mode of CoF yet. It is one of the few sets where I can actually make my necromancer have gear that doesn’t make me look like a priest. I was enjoying doing the dungeons, was farming story mode on Ascalon just to help other players out, finally got into a group run for Explo AC and it bugs out on the final boss, it kind of put me off from running dungeons and the only 2 I ran after that was story mode for TA, SE, once each, and Arah story for well, personal story completion.

On note of the topic, I wouldn’t really know what to say about the whole gear situation. Sure after one partial run of explo mode pre nerf to drops and stuff I got some tokens, but when looking at the vendors in comparison with the numbers, at a glance it seems like it would end up being a farm fest just to get a set of gear. I’m sure if I actually crunched the numbers it wouldn’t seem so bad, but only running the same content gets stale relatively fast if you are running it for grind purposes (I used to raid in WoW and it felt more like a chore to play than an enjoyable experience).

But I regularly hear people whine on “tanks” about how they need to learn to hold aggro and whatnot in this game aswell. My suggestion is that they should all go back to a trinity based MMO if they want defined classroles.

I hold aggro on my necromancer really easy, all I have to do is be there and press 1 button on any of my skill bars that isn’t auto attack. I mean seriously i think every mob in this game has a grudge on me cause an entire group can be fighting a group of mobs and I walk up to that group cast one spell and all the mobs are like OMFG get him!!!

On another note, a damage meter isn’t going to tell you how/when someone was dodging, if they were using their heal and using it affectively and not just oh god, about to die use heal now moments. It’s not going to tell you who was stacking up conditions that hamper the enemy or constantly keeping buffs up to the rest of the group. It’s only, like previous posters before me have said, encourage the “I play for myself and my higher numbers” as opposed to the, I do everything I can to make sure the group is as successful as possible attitude the game is trying to achieve.

highest bleed necromancer build?

epidemic sucks. and i have played gw2 for 260 hours. i saw epidemic only 1 ~ 2 times.(but those guys who used epidemic died more easily than anyone. it is why i dont select epidemic. and when i use it, i see i don’t kill many enemies. epidemic is just childish noob skill.). and epidemic is just weak with low chance killing enemies. i can replace CPC for pure bleed build. but all other skills seem just weak. i select those 3 skills because only those 3 skills have high damage. and i don’t see any skill that is higher damage than signet of spite. just look at necromancer traits. 20% signet recharge faster increases speed. it means more higher damage. there is no more skill or trait you can do more damage. and i see i use signet of spite very often in game. why would you replace it? i will challenge the highest damage for the last attempt because everything was lame with bugs. i don’t care enemy gets many boons. if i do highest damage, i can kill everyone. i realized boons are not strong at all. i see many people who get as many boons as possible. but i see they just die like noobs.

I say if you are using epidemic and not getting many kills, your using it at horrible times with low stacks of conditions on enemies. Epidemic is not some skill to be used when soloing, it is a skill to be used when a target is being focused by multiple people, and has stacks of multiple conditions on them. Epidemic also gets its cooldown reduced when you trait into the 20% reduced cooldown on corruption skils (don’t remember the trait name). Imagine that same target already having stacks from being focused, you use the skill to turn all there boons into conditions, your signet that applies all conditions on them, and then epidemic it to all the nearby enemies. Epidemic is not weak, only the user of it at times when it should not be used makes it seem weak.

Add Duels/Inspect People

And as for inspect, we should have the option to hide our gear.

Maybe not hide the gear, but hide what rune/type of gear it is, so players can see the name of the gear to find it without having the whole, oh you have the wrongs gems crap attitude. I play a necro and there are plenty of builds that lots of people say aren’t viable, and yet skilled players make them work. So yeah if you come geared and ready to go but get denied because you play a certain way and are gear for that way, being denied because your not “playing the class the way everyone else does” should not be punished.

As for duels, Keep them in the mists somewhere, the PvE world is hectic enough without having people run up to you and typing /duel all the time.

Just my 2 cents on the matter, take it or leave it.

Camera in close quarters is just bad on any char in the game not just the charr. IMO trolls end it was ridiculous, took me about 2 hours for it to stop just freezing in a horrible spot to get anywhere lol.

Yep and it’s only for military charr that it is frowned upon, aside from the ash legion spies, (spying in general you don’t want to be a group project lol). The only other ones that aren’t frowned upon for being solo are the ones that are part of the 3 orders ,vigil, priory, and whispers.

That specific graphic is known as the “Dry Bones” skin, it can be obtained from karma vendors or made with tailoring. Due to PvPing and not farming up my profession level or dungeons for tokens, I am a level 80 charr running around in level 30 gear, because it’s what looks cool.

That’s his personality in a nut shell.

That’s mines personailty as well, only, hes not a warrior but a necromancer. There really is no good trait for a necromancer, dealings with the dead aren’t really charismatic, or noble, or brute force types of things, but out of the three I picked the one that at least to some point made sense for a necromancer to have.

Ash on the necro because the way the do things seems “unsoldierlike” to the other legions and it’s kind of frowned upon, being necromancer and wielding the powers of the undead is also frowned upon, so it makes perfect sense.

There are plenty of charr in the game who are not members of the legions and they don’t seem to be so suffering.

It may be true that there are charr that are not members of legions, but most of them are frowned upon by other charr. The ones that aren’t are usually the ones that aren’t involved in military things, the farmers and oridinary citizens and such. There is a part of the charr home city that is considered the “slums” because of military charr that lost there warband and such are shamed because their warband is dead and they are alive.

In PvP though most points are the same size as the well drop, so they either stay in the well or get off the point. It is highly effective when you can keep wells down for 15 secs, 5 secs longer than it takes to neutralize a point or 3 secs shorter than a full capping of a point. If the enemy stays out of the wells to avoid the damage/conditions/effects of them, you pretty much have free reign on a point whenever they are up.

Not sure about PvE stats as my necro isn’t properly geared for + healing and everything yet, however in PvP gear with + healing at a little over 1200 in total with the siphoning trait it gives about 400 health per tick

Dagger MH for the life siphoning, it may not be much but it does gain benefit from the + healing, so does the regen from focus Oh. As for the 1 second chill when applying blind, it turns into a 20 sec chill from constant blind spam when in plague form, allows kiting and not being hit at the same time, while constantly punishing abilities of mobs and players alike. When I pvp though I usually swap it out for fear does damage, all in all for my build nothing really gains a major benefit from that trait slot so it is usually more or less just whatever I feel like picking between those two, however, I have to have that trait slot to get to my precise placement of wells trait so it’s kind of just like a minor bonus slot for me.

If I like and have gotten good with a certain playstyle I don’t want to have to switch because I don’t like the look of the 1 weapon that fits my playstyle. The option to change the skin while keeping it a legendary item shouldn’t be a problem. I don’t have any legendary weapons or items yet myself, but if I work towards one it would be nice to be able to get one and keep it a legendary item with the skin I prefer on an item.

I am a little confused you are working towards an item which only benefit is the skin and effects but you don’t like them? Why would you choose that legendary to go for.

Because some playstyles require a certain weapon to go for, for example, as a necromancer I can’t use marks with a scepter and if I didn’t like that staff I would apply the stats to a non legendary with a skin I liked, therefore, taking away the point of making a legendary to begin with.

He is using a stolen item for the 2nd spin and getting it took a few steals given the randomness of that mechanic.

Actually that randomness isn’t random when stealing from players.

necro = aoe 3 sec fear item
engi = aoe ground that applys random conditions to people that stand in it item
warrior = axe spin item
guardian = bomb item
thief = stealth/blind item
mesmer = all boons for short duration item
elementalist = ice shard item(forgot exactly what it does haven’t played my thief for some time)
ranger = tree with regeneration stacking duration

Haters will always hate. There’s no point. It’s ok. Go play your FoTM classes and be happy. No point in wasting any word here, really. Yes, the necro has issues. Everyone knows it and by god it has been posted fairly often enough. But please, can you stop bashing. Enough is enough, seriously. Some guys are so close-minded it’s freaking annyoing. But this was to be expected. GW1 was full of egomaniacs and elitism, why not GW2, too.

Go on guys, go on. In the end you’re the ones ruining a game. And when everyone iskitten of and the game is dead thanks to your elitism you simple move on to the next game. Just like locusts.

I run the same build I run for PvP for soloing and for dungeons. I build for + healing, toughness, vitality, and power. I run the well of blood, power, suffering, and corruption, plague form elite.

You will hold most mobs aggro easily can keep up dark combo field for 15 seconds, light combo field for 10 seconds, and keep enemies weakened / blinded to tank the hits that come in.

Staff + dagger/focus for weapons.

[edit for example] Was tanking in arah in sub par gear not even focused on the proper stats taking hits from 5-6 undead at a time and surviving while the rest of the group pulled one mob and focused it leaving me to deal with the rest, I took the hits and lived after they were deciding to rejoin the fight from focusing the 1 mob down and realized that I had no plans of dragging the other mobs out of my wells.

I love my wells, 15 secs uptime of dark combo field, followed by 10 secs of light combo field = wonderful. Oh, and trolling with plague form #2 ability

and remove well skills. those are just lame.

Yep I find it lame to run into a pack of any number of mobs drop 2 wells stand there and heal from them, drop down a 2-3-4 combo from staff and have that entire pack of mobs be dead while I suffer minimal damage for doing so.

Thoughts about the state of necromancers

I have already stated my thoughts on DS. I don’t mind that it only allows to have a 4 skill set up or is a transformed mode to be in. It just seems that with the lack of an ability to customize each slot between a choice of abilities, each spec of necro currently only gains 1 real ability that benefits from their build. Doom is the only one that affects all the builds but other than an interrupt it really serves no purpose because of it’s short duration. I said it before in a thread I created that got no attention and is now off the first page, DS abilities should have some customization ability like the utility bar, so that every necro build can gain some benefit from it.

Yeah some pal. I get get him out of his boring office to be out killing ghosts which he so much enjoys doing and in return he goes out of his way to come across the room to stand 3 feet from me when i’m downed, aggro a warrior to be on top of me and not even rez me. Seems more to me like he was taking advantage of NPC vs PC aggro. I must say though out of most the runs I did he did rather seem to stick by me the most from what I could tell.

Hrm my healing/toughnes focused necro, through a combination of plague form and use of dodges/wells ate 44 thief pistol whip hits, 44. Those 44 hits did a total of drumroll 10k damage, and he was rocking quickness, to bad it didn’t do much for him when I’m in plague form with 5k + toughnes and 40k + health and spamming blind.

Also WTF Bloodlust and Corruption don’t stack? Doesn’t say that anywhere. Fix it!

That kind of attitude gets you nowhere. Have you tested it to see if it doesn’t stack? Have you asked other players to test it to make sure it doesn’t stack? Have you looked at the bug forums to see if it is a known bug already?

That attitude up here just leads to whiners and trolls. If you want to be of use to the community act in a manner deserving of attention. As for the taunt, use a couple of AoE abilities, works on my necro really well. I use one AoE and the mobs persintently wish to pound my head off even though I am doing the least damage in my group.

Healing actually scales really well on my necro when stacked enough. Take well of blood for instance (my personal choice of heal fro necro). Without +heal it has about a 6.2k base heal and 200 per tick every second. With the healing factored in, it has a base heal of almost 9k, with every tick healing 700. Math factored in no heal stat = about 8k, with heal stat = about 15k almost double and all from like 1233 to heal stat. Healing has a place, it is just underused because very few classes have multiple skills to utilize it. On my necro it scales with regen from the staff 2, the MH dagger 2 life drain, as well as the regen from 4 on the offhand focus.

MOBA is a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena, defined heavily by the above listed games. It consists of a few seperate lanes for differnet players to utilize in or to destroy towers, creeps or semi useless npc minions that are just there to take a few turret hits for you, creeps that reside in between lanes that either grant a buff to the player that last hits it or, if it is a group encounter mob the team that last hits it, in order to destroy and enemy main base sort of structure. Think Legacy of Foefire – the capture points, 2 more sets of gates and the team boss being harder to get to/harder to kill.

Add Longer Duration "Stealth" PvE-Only Skill

I am playing a thief and honestly, I like not having a permanent stealth in PvE or PvP. With the way stealth works and the way player stories are sometimes, having that stealth in PvE means skipping all the mobs to get through the personal story, or at least attempt to, and if you die on the boss, wait to come out of combat to use the perma stealth and attempt again, or fight your way back through every mob in the instance. Don’t even need to go into why this would be bad in PvP, not to mention it would make getting the world completion stuff entirely to easy as you could just bypass anything that isn’t a fight without ever going noticed.
