I’m making an assumption that the armor works like the precursors, where there is tiers. What would be neat is, if you go from say, experimental, to the next tier, to the final precursor, for charr, each tier up adds a 2nd set of cups. That way by the precursor you have 6 cups, for the 6 nipples charr have.

I’ve shown up several times at night to the graveyard in ascalon settlement, and yet there is no raven. Anyone else experience this?
A lot of what is datamined does not come with the patch it is found in. In fact, a lot of what is datamined never makes it into the game.
They can add as many raids as they like. Doesn’t bother me at all. It would be nice though if they’d add something I like some day soon.
^this. Where is the content for everyone else? There has been nothing new to do since HoT, that was 5 month’s ago. I don’t count a revamp and festivals(which didn’t really add anything new)
This seems a bit myopic. Anet spent over 3 years releasing content for nonraiders. They’ve spent far less time releasing content for raiders. Anet seems to bounce around releases, instead of content for everyone simultaneously. Your time will come again. Mike O’Brien’s AMA (I think it came from his AMA) even commented that the raid team is far smaller than the other PvE oriented teams.
We interacted with their avatars. Prophecies takes place 1072 AE (after exodus). Timeline for reference:
did we get rekt?
Depends on what you mean. Did the build’s DPS get cut down by a very noticeable chunk? Yeah. Is the build no longer viable? Nah.
I had made my condi warrior my main and I can now barely break 4k burning damage. This is disgusting. The only thing im happy about is rifle is legit good now for pve, but holy lord condi warrior is dead
I would check your rotation/gear/something. I was able to get to 6-7k burning damage with just banners. Previously was around 9k under same scenario. 22-33% burn DPS nerf (not total DPS nerf, this would be less of a loss) does sound harsh, but it was also out DPSing classes by this much in some scenarios too. The build was not gutted by any means. Still one of the better condi builds. Condi engi may be better, but only under in the hands of a player who can get down the rotation well, which is uncommon. This build was extremely lazy and easy to use. It shouldn’t be top.
Screenshot attached to show burning damage.

I’ll concede that it might help a person understand their build better. However, I still maintain that it will only be meaningful or useful to those who care about such things (i.e. those who value efficiency and numbers over just enjoying the game and having fun).
I don’t understand these kind of comments. Why suggest what someone should get out of the game? You seem to be under the impression “those who value efficiency” and “enjoying the game and having fun” are somehow mutually exclusive. For plenty of us, they are not. In fact, they are intertwined.
I opened 13 and got 0. RNG is RNG.
This was really constructive feedback.
Had same problem. Switched to patching 32 bit. Patched in about 4 seconds. 32 bit it is for now.
Condi Engis are the bomb, and come in 2 distinct very good varieties, full condi (full kit build) and Burn (less kits, specifically focused on burning).
I personally prefer the burn one, problem with full condi engi is that by the time your conditions applied via rotating all the kits actually do some decent damage, many small targets are already dead. Whereas burn engis are more to the point and while may do a bit less on paper and in theorycrafting, they actually do far more in practical application due to not wasting so much time kit swapping.
By default they are also more flexible then the general condi engis and have more space for things other then kits.
How does the burn engi gear/build differ from full condi engr? I find myself struggling with getting actual DPS anywhere near the theoretical for full condi because of all the switching. I’d be very interested in a simpler burn version.
Assuming you are trying to use Trailblazer, which does not work. It is unclear whether this is something that will be fixed or this is the intended behavior and the other expertise/concentration sets are not intended to work.
I’ve been able to convert to viper’s, so at least some of the 4 stats work. I have not tried to convert from any of the 4 stat combinations, so I can’t comment on that.
Could you provide a screenshot of what you are trying to put in the forge? Just so we can make sure you aren’t accidentally doing something erroneous. Also, try entering the 4 items in a different order. This has worked for me in the past.
Yay…or not…everybody decides for himself.
Most GW1 Vets and GW2 since Beta players i know, are more like…no yayyy!
that’s because communities are often more comprised of like minded indviduals. Most GW1 vets and GW2 since beta players I know are more like…yayyy!
Mechanically, legendary gear is no better than ascended gear. You may consider legendary gear to be more convenient, but gameplay wise, it offers 0 advantage to already available items. If you feel that changing stats on the go is advantageous, I suggest you make multiple armor sets.
You are in the kitchen making a cup of coffee with your character standing idle in a safe spot. You start to hear combat noises from your PC and come back to observe that guy dragging a mob next to your character so it starts killing you. You faceplam, kill the mob and watch the scoundrel move on as if he was totally innocent.
I hate that guy.
“That guy” is doing so because he thinks you’re AFK and therefore scaling stuff or an event leecher.
Still a violation of the tos…
In what way?
i’m not sure if there was a question in your posting OP so i have a question for you .
what if they delayed all updates for an extra week ?
ya know , so each department has a couple days to get all their changes documented . then , hand them off to a proof reader / editor , that can take a couple days to make some of the technical stuff easier to swallow . who can then hand it of the the webmaster for web page updating .
would that be better for ya ?
I’ve read some interesting hyperboles on this forum, but this is a new one. It should not take them a week. Look at all the stuff in the patch notes. Were talking about a dozen or two lines added, maybe. If it takes a week to add that, those patch notes took months to put together (not the patch, the notes themselves).

People aren’t understanding the point I’m trying to make… I’m not entitled, I’m more than willing to work hard for the new legendary, but old legendaries didn’t have these ridiculous time-gates… (there should be no waiting game for making legendaries)
Uuuurgh nevermind. No one gets it. Forget it. Jeez. Won’t be returning to this thread because I feel like I’m banging my head against a brick wall trying to get the point across about time-gates.
I get you. You don’t have a problem with it taking 2 months, or however many. The problem is that it isn’t really “2 months of effort”. Anet’s design has it that it forces you to stop working on it for periods at a time because you can’t do anything. You simply have to wait until reset. I agree with you. This is poor design. The 2 months of making it isn’t a measure of effort. Its a measure of waiting.
I hate the timer and if they must have one I see no reason for it to be so low. The mechanics of the fight are great and tough enough that you wipe without worrying about time. If there must be one then 12mins would be a good spot imo.
Oh, I’m not talking about the Vale Guardians timer. Oh no, Gerovage? … Gorvoge? … the boss after him is hands down reaches 0 = GG.
Three of our party members can confirm running Soldiers, Rabids or Cavalier’s will most likely prevent you from beating the second boss.
For the DPS role raids you HAVE to run zerkers, vipers or sinisters. Anything else will hinder yourself and your entire team.
When you say zerker, vipers or sinisters does this mean zerker armor, weapons AND trinkets? or just armor and maybe weapon?
Full glass, right now the biggest challenge is battling the timer. Unless ArenaNet stops kitten ing around and realizes how stupid the enrage timer is, you are punished for playing defensively.
Read: bringing more defensive gear adds some challenge in terms of beating the timer, while taking away some challenge associated with staying alive. In some circles, we call this balance.
Read: Groseval punishes teams that don’t have enough DPS without a timer (even though he has a stupid timer) A full nomad team can never beat Groseval in a million years because of the enraged and charged spirits.
In other words, it’s not more challenge.
There are many more ways to reward DPS outside a timer. Apparently you fail to understand that.
I don’t fail to understand that. What I do fail to understand is how people are having trouble beating it within the first 24 hours of release is any indication of what the norm is going to be a few weeks from now. DnT has shown that a month of testing made the content relatively easy for em. Why don’t you give it some time before jumping to these conclusions?

I’d take this instability over the boon instability any day
Go to the ascalon fractal with the fractal journal. There’s an NPC that spawns where the boss comes out of the building. Talk to him.
More like the Anti Fun Club, amirite?
Depends on your definition of fun and I think it’s fairly obvious that most people in this thread aren’t characterizing JPs as fun.
So, no.
Sounds like someone wants to join the Anti Fun Club.
Is the track repeatable?
Maybe you get next piece, if you finish it again.
No I believe it is not.
Those are going to have to be quite the rewards to encourage someone to leave an organized HoT map.
I would have watched this but I’m not spending an hour watching a renowned heart reward jiggle.
More like the Anti Fun Club, amirite?

You guys!! This is so sweet. Happy Anniversary, Gaile!!
3500 bags and i got 3 mini devil dogs two hammers and a huge load of crap. but meh, its just a game in the end
A game, where it’s likely the only reason the OP is playing is to enjoy it, which he did not, which is the reason for this thread. So what is your point in saying that it’s “just a game in the end”?
This actually didn’t help at all and you basically said nothing at all to contribute.
S/he was polite and gave reasonable answers or explanations to your complaints. Don’t be rude just because you don’t like the answers.
This happens in at least 95% of the time in every single PUG I join, the worst is ARAH.
Something tells me that if any 1 of us were to join you with 3 other pugs, that night somehow this “at least 95%” would magically go to pretty much 0%. Extreme hyperboles like this sentence make your entire post’s legitimacy come into question.
OR we can just remove hearts entirely….
I mean that is what the game was supposed to be designed around to begin with, hence why after you get to Orr there are no more hearts.
It was my understanding hearts were not originally planned. During pre-launch feedback, many players felt lost on what they were supposed to do without the more traditional “quests”, so hearts were added.
So can anyone explain to me the logic behind anets decision with an actual reason that makes sense? Other than they cant work out how to split 10 man buffing from the rest of the game (probably the real reason).
Anet’s reasoning was kind of odd to me. The impression I got from Crystal was that if buffs went 10 person, then the optimal setup would eclipse partially optimal groups due to the buffs being multiplicative. So it became an issue of, if they balance around this optimal group, average groups are going to fall far, far behind. And if they balance around an average group, the optimal group is going to absolutely steam roll the content. I kind of get the point, but I also thought raids weren’t going to allow just the “average” group to come in, so it feels kind of like a moot point?
Which leads me to be a little confused as to what level of difficulty the raids will actually be. On one hand, they keep talking about how “it’s so hard!”, but on the other hand, they won’t do a buff change so that groups don’t have to have a ranger (example). They definitely want to allow diversity (diversity as in what completes content, not what is the best group, which seems to be the focus of this thread) in groups, but I think sadly the more diverse the group is allowed to be, the more trivial the content is because of some of the lacking classes (which maybe could have been remedied by those lower classes having unique, 10 party wide buffs, but then we’re back to the power creep Crystal mentioned). And I don’t have a ton of faith that anet is going to choose the right balance between diversity and difficulty, or that they even should have a balance between the two.
That’s my take on it at least. Pretty disappointing, regardless.

Corner stackers got rekt.
Corner stackers have been getting “rekt” for over a year. There’s been no point to standing in a corner since the FGS nerf. The argument for LoSing trash mobs is also pointless considering how easy it is to permablind and ball them.
you shouldn’t have zerker gear from beginning.
if you decided to abuse a system you have to pay for it later. this is how life works
Seriously, what are you even talking about? Like are you trolling? They chose an armor stat and now they are abusing the game? You cannot be serious.
Pretty much, dungeons still clear too fast for a druid to be effective with heals.
I would say it’s the opposite.
Finally you have the chance to play the dungeons as intended.
Weren’t the intent of dungeons to be played how people wanted? I’d say they’ve been played as intended for 3 years (ignoring exploits – all dungeon content can be done in full zerker no exploits). Everyone may not be played how you want, but they are being played as intended.
Arenanet is going to be (partially) wrong. It may not work for the number of people who run it now, but there’s going to be people who will be able to run it.
It may not work for everyone actually. It is possible that they will go lazy mode and just add tanking/healing checks.
I think these are going to be in it, and people are still going to find ways to run zerker. Just like people found ways to push into high FoTM. Players are far more creative with content than Anet is.
According to ArenaNet, the Berserker meta will NOT work. Druid will be amazing because of this. Druid has the possibility to be the most used specialization… At least the most needed
Arenanet is going to be (partially) wrong. It may not work for the number of people who run it now, but there’s going to be people who will be able to run it.
In reference to “druids healers in dungeons”. Please don’t. We already don’t need healers in dungeons, and since that content isn’t changing, we won’t need them once HoT is released.
An interesting idea, But I think enough of the community is still ignorant about how combo fields currently work, that this wouldn’t be well utilized by a lot of players. Id rather see some kind of content helping players learn more about combo fields.
Still would like a link were they said we would get chef and jeweler 500 tho
they didn’t
also this would not make much sense anyway – what one would want to craft with chef 500?
and ascended trinckets have already 3 ways of getting them so I doubt they will ever add that 4th (which probably would be easiest of them all)
I could see 500 jewelcrafting necessary for legendary backpieces. And 500 cooking could give buffs specific to raids that might be extremely useful. It’s really not that hard to imagine anet could find use for both of these professions going to 500.
In its current design, there are two likely outcomes. 1) People will continue to run Jack-of-all-trades Runes because they simply cannot afford multiple sets, leading to players with more money having a boost on others. At the very least a pre-requisite for raiding will be a f tonne of gold farming. 2) Players who simply cannot afford multiple Rune sets will have less fun, take more time, see less of the rest of the game, feel less satisfied and more likely to burn-out faster.
I doubt Anet is trying to fully eliminate DPS builds. Some of the top guilds are probably going to still be able to run full zerker + whatever needs to be swapped in (like sinister) for specific cases. My guess however is that pugging zerker groups will be mostly disastrous, unlike dungeons where you can mostly be carried by 1 or 2 or so zerkers even if the rest are constantly downed.
I don’t understand this thread at all. The system you are asking for is literally what dungeons are. It allows people to play how they want, to stay in the role, traits, and gear they choose, and still complete content. This is the entire design problem. You cannot have difficult content and “play the build I want” because of the huge disparity between builds. You either have to force people into roles (raids) or allow whatever to work (dungeons).
While ideally it would be nice to never encounter this, I would say that, for online gaming, you having 1 bad experience over 2 years is quite an incredible feat. I think that worrying about the change in community after 1 thing happening seems a bit premature. Perhaps you’re worried about the F2P players? But if it was in CoF and the F2P people just started, it probably was a paying costumer. I’m unsure of why the community will become “raging, and angry people” suddenly. A lot of the limits to the F2P players will help limit the abusive people, and anet has probably other things they are monitoring to keep it in check, but won’t tell us what so that it’s not easier for people to circumvent those checks.
Anet refuses to add the proper tools to see if people are geared and built correctly so even though AP is a terrible indicator people use what they have because it is still better than nothing at all.
Congratulations for proving the OP correct…
This just in. Someone wanting more proper tools to form a party of their choosing and likeness while admitting the current method is terrible is elitist. GW2 community sure does amaze me.
I’ve been pugging multiple times a day since the LFG came out, in both zerker and nonzerker groups, and I can honestly say I don’t remember a single time any of this happened. Someone who has this happen “all the time” should bring me along so I can see what’s going on.
stat enhancements are not optional.
skins are optional.
ascended gear is the same stats as legendaries, and those can be gained from WvW.
I really like this concept, although I’m not 100% sure how i would do it from a technical stand point.
You know how with the legendary greatswords, you leave special footsteps? If you transmute them to another skin you’d still get the footsteps. It shouldn’t be difficult.
That scenario is very different. For it, the shape of the greatsword has no bearing on the animation being added after reskinning. We have no idea what animations, if any, the legendary armor will have. As an example, say they create a hue right around the edge of the armor. If you were to transmute the skin, it’s going to have a different shape. The way they set up the hue may not be as simple as “right off wherever the armor is” for many reasons. I think it’s reasonable to assume some of the animation is going to be depedent on the armor layout, unlike the footprints being independent of the skin.
That’s not what OP is asking. They want to know what items can be bought/sold on the TP, and what cannot. I’m curious myself, but considering how well done the other limitations are for everything else, I’m optimistic about this as well.
Edit: Ninja’d. Whomp.
