Elephant Ambush is currently recruiting active WvW players to fill the pirate ship. We are a knowledgeable guild, dedicated to having fun in a casual WvW focused environment. Our core emphasis is team work via open field WvW; however, we do occasionally spice things up with GvGs or scrims here & there. We want players looking for a good time (EA is always d2f).

T1 and T2 has never been more balanced, both matchups were within 10k of each other, want to know why? because the guilds on T1 and T2 move to balance out the servers as much as they can.
DB people complaining that you win to much, quit being spastic and MOVE
SBI/SOR, merge your guilds and get some from lower tiers
Use your brain, DB can’t beat anybody in T2 why would you want them to move up that just means either FA or Mag will drop back down and will kitten all over you harder
Personally I would love nothing more than to have DB push Mag or FA down to silver, simply for the lols, it would be really funny.
An even better idea, Mag should transfer some of their player base to SBI and stop trying to be T1, you have no place there and would just get destroyed all over the place.
cant blame DB for this system, we have been pretty much the same since our 1st and 2nd exodus. Maybe if ANET decided to drop some of the lower tier servers combine the populations.. maybe.. just maybe we could all have coverage wars.

Im just one guy and my son, and we transfered to YB to be with spanish talking people like us.
We figth many nigths for Dragonbrand even vs YB, and some people even call us spies, we just transfered to play WVW with our own people. I dont feel bad about it, I feel bad about those who claim be so loyal to a server and allow this kind of kitten happens :P

basically group a set of servers with different coverage strengths into a Warband/ War group.. whatever you want to call it. With the servers grouped and balanced by coverage strength you eliminate the whole stacked server issues. Ok maybe not eliminate but it would sure beat the current system. Please post your thoughts and suggestions.
So do 4 leagues in NA. This eliminates the enormous population difference from server 1 to server 12 and 13 to 24.
If you really think the server that is ranked 12th at the start of this stands any chance against the top servers you are delusional.
I never said they did. However, I’d argue that they do in fact stand a chance against the 6th ranked server and the 5th ranked server. We are not trying to only ever match you up against your closest comparable server. That was what was happening with the system before and it was bad. If you are saying you don’t ever even want the chance to try and show your skill against a higher ranked server, then I don’t know what to say.
We will continue to look into ways to change scoring to try and even out some of the population based imbalances, but that is not an easy task and it won’t happen during the season.
One way to fix the whole “coverage wins WvW” is to group servers into something like a war group. basically group a set of severs with different coverage strength into said war group. bam a more equal WvW system…
Achievements are intended to be eared. Not handed out. 90% of the game is easy mode in PvE when it comes to content, don’t do the same for WvW. Allot of people enjoy things the way they are, the current system gives goals and activities for long-time WvW focused players. If players are dedicated, and involved in the WvW community, allot of the rewards come quite easily.
no, the time and dedication it takes for some of these WvW achievements is ridiculous. adjustments and progression points are needed.

already a cap, I think its 20. not 100% sure it’s 20 but there is a cap and its right around there. I think it’s just fine the way it is. your server could have wiped the golems before they got to your keep; they are pretty slow even with an army of mesmers porting them.

And you are right, siege is not required when it’s 20 against 2, but your server still likes to do that. But if someone is making fun of you because of it you people react like your server’s honour was tarnished.

In the last hour on DBBL I have intentionally solo fought a group of four mags taking camps twice. I lost but I fought. I have also while solo fought and beat two other mag solo roamers.
I think the problem here is that those mags who are active on the forums never solo roam, and they are upset that they cannot kill solo roamers in their 4-man groups because the solo roamers don’t engage. In fact the general sentiment seems to be anger due to not ever having a fight in which they do not have overwhelming odds. What’s up with that?

I roam most of the time when I’m not doing GvG with my guild [NS], and I know a lot of good players from Db that roam and love to 1v1 just as much as I do. The other day I was dueling some people from Mag behind the mills (Swag guild I believe?) and there was this shatter Mesmer who beat 2 people in front of me, so I decided to duel him after. I won (didn’t finish him) and next thing I know, I had like 5 people jumping me and the whole thing turned into a zerg fight a couple of minutes later. Was pretty ridiculous.
But aside from all that, I just wanted to say thank you [PYRO] for the GvG! We had a lot of fun, and I hope to see you guys in the field again! Wish ya luck in your future GvG’s.

I don’t know the reason behind your bashing, nor really care, but it seems you have a lot of anger towards Db. And to answer your question, no, we don’t feel that way at all. Db is a very competitive server, and very organized when it comes to WvW. We have good Commanders, and players that listen and follow their lead.

In that video we [NS] go balls deep against bigger numbers than us, and yet managed to win. We managed to hold bay for a few hours, despite the differences in our numbers (we were only like 20 of us, plus a few pugs).
To me it seems you are very confused about the concept of WvW. The aim of WvW is to achieve a higher war score than the opposing worlds by the end of a week of battle. It is not based on individual player skills (roamers), or such, but score between servers. As I previously mentioned, this match-up was very unfair for you guys due to our differences in coverage, but even so, is very disrespectful and childish to say things such as “Db is crap, full cowards, etc”. We went against Blackgate and Jade Quarry last month, and BG got a huge lead in scores for obvious reasons between our numbers. In the end, it was a really fun match-up for us despite ending in 3rd place. We learn a lot from them (t1), and it was very competitive. We didn’t bash them, we didn’t call them cowards because they had bigger zergs than us.
Anyways, I wish you all luck on your next match-up, and hope you guys get an even fight after reset tonight. If you fight a larger server than yours, learn from them, don’t be discouraged and never give up. Remember, the point of a game is to have fun.

What guilds would you say even come close to NS in terms of organization or personal skill on DB? Because I don’t think they exist.
And it’s not just one person from one server who thinks DB is lacking in terms of skill. It’s a number of people from both servers.
YB players at least can stand their own with semi-even numbers, and obviously don’t rely on siege as much since their land is constantly being reset by 80 man DB zergs. The siege spamming DB has done this week is absurd.
Sup ballistas in fully upgraded camps to defend against groups of 2-3? Really? Do skilled players need superior ballista support in addition to fully upgraded guards just to defend against inferior numbers?

I’m an Ele, and I wont lie, I vape form back through portals every chance i get. I agree that they should probably change it so you can’t go through portals.
That said, never has my vaping back into the tower really been a game changing move. It may deny someone a kill, and it may keep you alive a little longer, but if you’re getting dropped in front of your tower chances are that you vaping back in isn’t going to stop the door from going down.
Is vaper forming back into portals annoying? Yes
…is it game changing? No, not really.
Well, try to solo defend a tower as an engineer by killing the flame ram a small 3-4 man group puts down to break the gate. It is game changing.
ele can do that safely behind the gate with scepter fire skill 2… easy mode!
It’s pretty ridiculous that an ele can just up and simply get downed, then walk into a portal ensuring their safety and revive themselves. I’m pretty sure they are the only class with downed movement skills that can do that. Regardless, the mechanic should not even exist, as it removes any penalty of actually going down by acting as a permanent safety net that makes eles impossible to kill near/around towers/keeps.
I know you might say that immobilizing them is how you counter it but it’s rediculous that doing that even needs to be done to kill someone who has already LOST.
To be clear here I’m not saying we should remove vapor form, just it’s ability to allow players to walk through portals.

As an ele I love to troll noob groups that don’t know how to cc or lure away from the portal. if u know its an ele don’t fight in range of the portal. When I’m out d|erpin around roaming my favorite troll is to lure ppl like u to a portal and tie u up time and time again! know this as fact, when we vapor form into the portal all eles laugh at the kitten kitten kitten!! fun times!!!

Not really, most players do not care about animations/skins. MMOs are a different play style than FPS and that is why most players play… not because of lame little dragon wings on your back.
You’re deluding yourself, friend. I’ve been playing MMOs for over 10 years, and I guarantee that visual elements are a huge reason for the majority playing, especially in this game.
by drop I means downing a person in sPvP or WvW (pve is a different story). Staff is just fine for support, I won’t endorse using it for the sole purpose of dps, that’s just a terrible idea, most of the skills for staff are support focused (combo fields, blast finishers) go solo with a staff and ur putting yourself at a disadvantage. no one is stupid enough to stand in your red circles for long enough to do any damage. with that said you seem bent on disagreeing with fact so go enjoy the pretty animations and be some awesome rally fodder. : )
Edit: I think it should be known that i do, in fact, run a staff build in WvW. in a group as support. why? because that’s what the team needs, think about what the team needs most. a staff ele comes in handy it’s just not the dps part the team is really going to need, as stated before other classes have damage covered. I prefer 0/20/0/20/30 static field up every 31 seconds. cc is so important to a successful team.

That’s funny, because staff seems designed to do a lot of damage, especially attuned to fire… scepter I find to be lacklustre at best, and the animations are horrible.

I think it comes down to the question: how can I use my class to help my group be successful? is it going to be AoE dps or are we all going to benefit from support? (cc, condition removal, AoE heals ect.) usually the choice is clear as other classes usually have the dps down and the group as a whole benefits more from a support ele than a dps ele. this is purely group size dependent, in a smaller group I prefer to run dd or sd, leaving support staff for groups of 10+

According to the OP (read the op) he is saying that Trade = How you dps, how you bunker.
Warrior going DPS – Thief going DPS = Role/Job/Trade the fact that a Warrior does DPS different than a Thief does DPS is irrelevant. They both are there for DPS.
If someone asks you what your professional trade is you don’t tell them what tools you use and leave the rest blank. You tell them what your job is.
Example so you can understand:
Mark just met John and asks him what he does for a living.
(John is a Police officer)
Mark “Hey buddy what is your Trade Profession?”
John “Oh I use a Glock, a Car, Handcuffs, Reports, C.B. Radio”
Mark “Oh cool bro, well I use a truck, axe, ladders, fire resistant gear”
Trade in this case would be the class, if your a thief you don’t run around saying herpa der|p ima dps, ima dps.. no you say you’re a thief. However I do get your point, just disagree because all classes can dps, bunker and heal to some point and if thats the case then all classes are the “Jack of all Trades”.
Anet has stated they want the Ele to be the “Jack of all Trades”, essentially means we can do everything other classes can do just not as good. So here is how we are not what Anet states they want us to be:
Thief can stealth – Anet must give the ele a stealth not as good as a thief but none the less we should have stealth
Ranger can trap and perma pet – Anet must give the ele traps, and perma pets
Mesmers can clone and portal – Anet must give the ele clones and portals
Guardians can create light fields – Anet must give the ele the ability to create light fields
So Anet if you stand by your word and want the ele to be the “jack of all trades” give us the ability to do everything other classes can do.. just not as good.
Anyone else have additions to the list?

I would not say Elementalists are garbage since we do have it better than some classes. Sadly, our build diversity is down the toilet with fire/earth just not being as powerful as air/water and arcana just being too good respective to the others in spvp/tpvp.

no don’t waste any time on the Ele, Anet has made it clear the ele is not intended to be good at anything so don’t even bother.. lowest health pool, lowest damage, lightest armor. jack of all trades… master of none.
