I agree, we could use some more free banks space, on the other hand, hoarding all of that stuff is pretty pointless, why would anyone need all of those useless gathering tools?
maybe you could even sell them, same with the stones and redundant items, If something isnt worth much or I have several repeats, I just destroy them to make space, I know some like collecting stuff, but all of said stuff needs to be collected, gathering cyber dust.
To each its own!
cheers!
cool! thanks, hopefully I can make it, as I have some issues with said JP…
No you are not wrong my friend, diversity is the way of life, if everyone thought the same, where would we be?
I completely agree with you, the more we can customize the better, but for the time being, this is what we have got, I believe there could be more important matters to add or fix before more control options are available, like the targeting issues we now have.
Anyhow , hopefully your friend takes the time to learn and find out all the stuff this game has to offer!
cheers!
OP, what you are saying sound like this:
I have a friend that has only driven cars, the other day I showed him my bicycle, he tried the bicycle but found the controls strange, he told me how difficult (and or) strange was to pedal instead of hitting the gas pedal.
If bicycle manufacturers wanted more business why dont they make the controls easier?
Yeah its true many people that come to games like this, or pc games in general find the controls hard or strange, but in learning and adapting comes our human ingenuity, some people have trouble moving around with the wasd keys, others have trouble moving around with the mouse, GW2 allows you to bind and map your keys to whatever you like, your friend Op, will just have to cope and learn new skillsets, or bind them to a gamepad or something.
the problem with mouselook is that in games like this you need to have a cursor active, there are just too many things to click and move and drag, having a modifier active to do that would be a solution but then again that just makes another keypress added to the complexity, holding M2 to move the camera isnt that hard to learn or adapt.
the controls are fine, they need to be complex, this is a complex game, this is a complex genre, not all games are for everyone.
hey, welcome to the best gaming experience out there, Esplen covered the basics, but regarding movement it isnt that difficult, just visualize the keyboard like a controller with tons of keys, it wont take you more than a couple of days to get the hangs of it, but I suggest you change the keybinds for movement from WASD to the arrow keys, that’s how I got the hang of it many many years back, once you get confy moving around with your three middle fingers you can always switch to the default keys, and just use the mouse to click the skill bar
or you can use a game pad to play the game, lemme do a quick search and find some links for you, its just a matter of practice!
edit:
Ok here are some links, if u have an Xbox controller give it a go
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/players/How-do-I-use-a-controller-to-play/first#post1829022
and the software

I would just recommend to keep practicing and hone your keyboard skillz instead but hey , whatever makes your experience more friendly!

@tolunart
Thats the thing that gets me the most, some act like children while being adults, so it just seems like they are 11…
Humanity grows but does not mature in many ways.
breaking habits is hard, but aren’t we rational beings that can discern the gold from the hay? yeah I know its a rhetorical question
Sometimes I think that the perceived added value of these kinds of entertainment are to blame, if you put money into it, its deemed much more “valuable” thus the obsessive compulsion comes forth, and as it has been said some take it as a job rather than a form of entertainment, its a scary thought that our modern lives value so much our “free time”, when did we stop “just having fun” playing games?
strange times on planet earth!
hey CrossedHorse, feeling old at 26? just wait until you break the 30s barrier, sometimes I just don’t feel old, but ancient, thing is that I´m from the future, conceived in outer space, but built with vintage parts…
(edited by TheProphetOmega.3596)
Op, those are exactly my feelings, I mean whats wrong with people these days?
That´s my main argument as well, If you don’t enjoy it or feel it so lackluster then why keep doing it, why keep on “enduring” the pain and suffering?
Sure as it has been said, criticism is the only way to develop new strategies, for what gets me the most is not only the lack of human education, but also the lack of available wording in some peoples language repertoire, I mean sometimes its like trying to communicate with people from the dawn of time, when only grunts and farts were at our disposal to express unhappiness.
Sometimes I feel like this internet thing has devolved our most basic human attributes, what do they teach kids these days at school? everyone is on the defensive, everyone feels offended by the most banal and irrelevant issues, gaming forums are vanguard outposts, one can get a pretty good idea about the way things are in the macrocosms by analyzing what goes on in here…
In a way its scary that people care so much, in another its sad, that we having so much to our favor, care for so little…
So far I´m enjoying GW2 like no other game in years!
so keep it coming!
cheers!
Its hilarious, if this place had a complaints box, like some restaurants do, it would fill up every 2 hours, on the other hand, its amusing beyond belief how many people are complaining about the most minuscule stuff, particles on weapons, unfairness of the devs to our collective intelligence, hairstyles, asuran racism, the lack of footsteps that makes us loose the immersion, names of places, etc etc…
Now dont get me wrong, criticism is by far the most reasonable way to improve something, but one thing is constructive criticism, and another thing is constant whining, It must be hard for some to live in a world that does not cater to their most minuscule whims, but I ask the question: What game does?
The game must be getting better when folks no longer argue as much about balance or difficulty, or maybe they just moved on seeing that their complaints went nowhere…
So have any one of you seen or read some funny rants from people around here?
I love the ones about the breasts on female toons, some say they are “unrealistically” big, while other say they need bigger…
Although the Op makes some fair statements regarding certain issues that permeate certain aspects of everyday life, its this comment that made my day:
“I know its a game and we shouldn’t be bothered by it … but are we sure we shouldn’t?”
Nope we are not sure, we are not sure about anything in life, so please leave all fears and despair at the door, once you come in here, to the luminous world of the internet, things will be better, peace love and understanding take precedence, laughter and joy the front row seat, relax my friend this is after all, just another doorway to the internets, there is nothing to fear, humanity will mature into pure information and…
relax take a deep breath, this is what it is…
I think that the kind of nostalgia you feel is due to one key factor, age.
You are talking about a game that came out almost 10 years ago, we aren’t now the person we were back then, we grew up, some of us see things for what they really are, just a game.
Back then in GW1, I was in college and had tons of free time to put into it, I have lots of memories from guild mates, but now, from that initial group only a handful ever play it, most are married, or full of debt to really care about playing the game.
most of our good memories come from the fact that our lives weren’t as complex then as they are now.
people grow up, things pass.
Right now if I barely even have time to play
so yeah, GW1 rocked cause I had all the time in the world to play it…
For it to be open source it would have to be free, but no worries man, design a game engine and a server infrastructure, release the code and watch the magic happen!
you can call it “war guilds open source”, dreaming is free, but as long as there are commercial investments, nope they wont release it anytime soon, open source is the future, but not guild wars 2 future…
@TooBz
I understand your gripe man, dont get me wrong, the grind gets to all of us eventually, after running the same content for the 9th time things will get stale, but this thing was designed that way, people bash this game about being too casual, imagine what would they say if you could actually level to 80 in minutes…
Crafting being as boring as it is, is still a great alternative to leveling without running around doing the same stuff over and over again.
“leveling” you mean err…playing the game? I enjoyed getting to 80 on my first char. I’d never do it again, which is why I’ll just craft my alts to 80.
No “leveling” is not playing the game. level 80 in WvW is playing the game. Running dungeons at 80 is playing the game. Leveling your 6th character is a dull boring romp though desolate zones.
and that is just an opinion, I enjoy leveling my toons, WvW and dungeons are just something else to do in the game, so far this game has proven to have something for every taste, even tho, this game cant have everything for everyone.
some things that are considered boring for some, are fun for others, this is the spice of life, this is humanity right here folks, arguing about the fact that the free ice cream is only vanilla.
This thread got me excited, thinking it referenced the extinction of all the bookahs
they will eventually in time.
Asuras have front row seats to the feast of evolution, useless pieces of the eternal alchemy get replaced all the time, one day it will only Asuras and Dragons will be left, then we can take out the really big guns, and see who wins, evolution always wins.
I love threads like these.Similar complaints popped up in the D3 forums, people where like: why cant levels be shared amongst toons? , why do I have to play the game in order to progress?, why isnt there a win button?, why cant the game play itself?
I mean cmon OP, PvE is a different game than Pvp, they might share elements but have different mechanics, leveling IS the GAME, anyway I suppose you can pay some chinese kid to level your toon for around 20 bucks like you could in D3.
Maybe some console games are more up your alley? I hear you dont have to do much in those game, no leveling, or farming or anything, just load up the disc and mash some buttons, earn achievements and win in about 4 or 5 hours, that sounds like a perfect system for the short attention span crowd that gets bored quickly…
I, for one, can’t imagine someone enjoying having to spend 30 minutes (or 1 hour and 15 minutes in case of Jormag respectivelly)
Hence, your comment should actually have been “It would be easier to grind without the dragon spawn window, so please ArenaNet, remove it and let us grind in peace”. Meanwhile, I think ArenaNet has already listened to the grinders more than they should.
You summed it up nicely!, just my feelings exactly.
Anet should make an empty room and fill it with dragons that spawn one right after one dies, hell, make it even better, just make an empty hallway and put some chests with guaranteed rares, no wait, make it even better just send me the items in the mail just so we dont even bother to move, but make it so we dont even have to click on them and make them auto equip pliz…
no better yet make a win button that makes me win just by thinking about it…
no wait…
It seems to me that the only thing needed to group up is wanting to do so, I always say hi, and start chatting, most of the times people answer back and group up, its easy, just a right click away, sometimes just saying Hi! can go a long way!
Just yesterday I finished 2 maps with random people I found running around…
Compared to say, the Diablo 3 forums, this is a slice of heaven with constructive intelligent discussion, but I agree, many players after 3000+ hours would see the inherent flaws in this and any other game, its also true that for some rushers out there no amount of content can satisfy them in any way, and then some are looking for things in videogames that just arent there, things like happiness or a permanent cure for the boredom in our lives.
Still, trolling isnt as widespread, as it could.
Could things be different and with better attitudes overall?, sure, but that is asking too much of the Internet.
Still there are some good people in here, whose opinions and views broaden my perspectives about this creature called GW2…
C´mon OP, your arguments are sound and well expressed, however, 3.5 silver per change is not a big deal, in fact you can earn as much just coin just by fooling around ingame bashing stuff without giving a second thought, if it cost much more I would be in the same boat as you, but for that price…
And going to the skill trainer, they are in every mayor city, the one in LA is next to the crafting area, is getting there really an issue?
Anyway Im not sure there are that many viable builds for some classes to even play around with, I would worry more about some skill and trait combos being useless than a mere 3, 50 silver…
I would be more disappointing not scared if they went the route most other online games go, releasing weapons and armor with higher stats and or more power, but since they are only cosmetic, and almost impossible to get without spending ca$h, then I dont worry at all.
I´d rather make them available in the gem store tho…
You do realize that NC soft is actually South Korean? it has been since the beginning, not all player feel they must “own” the latest skin to be kewl, or In, yeah its human nature, but some adults have left the anal stage , this is just a game, nothing more, you decide how much you want in.
I do not like RNG either, but to me is rather simple, if it does not give anyone a “real” advantage and its just cosmetic, then why bother with it?
Dont go into the extremes my friend, make your vote count and do not give them your money, voice your opinion as well, but remember this and any other game is just out there to GET YOUR MONEY, this is after all a BUSINESS, they already got your money anyway if you buy the game, the rest is just a “skin”
If anyone wants to give them their money, then who cares? as long as it isnt mine.
and yes I have bought gems, money well spent on a hobby I enjoy, would I give them more?, probably, if it suits my needs.
In the end GW2 or any other game will fade away, and be forgotten, I feel your pain man, but this is how things are… maybe its time to move on?
Relax Op, put things into perspective, because it sounds that you are torn between playing this and RL stuff that gets in the way, so what if you missed it?
It was only a hat, nothing more, you can still get the shatterer wings if you so desire it, I also have stuff to do and miss some of the activities in GW2, and I´m still here, sure we want it all, but sometimes that is not an option!
I understand you position, but its maybe a bit too extreme, no one kittened you over anything man!
They did say in the main page that it was going to be for a short time, I wanted the octopus backpack thing a LOT, but could play as much in south sun as I wanted, but hey, no big deal.
Timed stuff is the nature of this game, its a love hate relationship I´m afraid..
good luck on the next activity hopefully you get everything there, I would give u my hats if I could, honestly.
Yes I am just like you V. I take it easy while being focused, right now this is the only game I currently play that keeps me interested, I am in no hurry to rush content, and enjoy the game for what it is , a game, entertainment and nothing more, I just cannot understand some of the mentality of the “hardkore” players that constantly whine about the game, sure it has issues, but is in no way the wreck they claim, on the contrary.
As has been stated, no game will ever fulfill the emptiness in some peoples lives, that unending longing for something indeterminate will never be sated in videogames or in entertainment, for me its a sign of the times we live in, sad reflections of human beings, angry and bickering about nothing important just waiting for the next fix, addicts to everything, codependent on their imagined crutches, life looses meaning, so they need to consume everything, as everything is the same thing.
But I suppose part of growing up is looking at things from different perspectives, a game is just a game, leisure time is something one earns after hard work, entertainment is just a pastime, one chooses to make it worthwhile.
This game has allowed me to actually play, and have fun, running around, socializing, making like minded friends, and I mean dont get me wrong, Im focused, I want a legendary and map completion and all the cake and ice cream, but it will come in time, I don’t need it now, to feel I have accomplished something or am being rewarded, playing the game is my reward after stressing out in RL, my objective is to have fun, and in those aspects, GW2 has given me that, like few games have, imagine I feel this game has enormous amounts of content while some say it needs more…
Everything is a matter of perspective, back in the day games weren’t like this, this is a revolution, and we are all invited.
So to all like minded players, congratulations, we have been rewarded and some of us have gotten more than our initial 60 dollar investment, to those that cant have enough, let me tell you , you will never have enough, no amount of content will ever suffice, no game will ever fill your needs…
Cheers!
I think its just what it sounds like, larger group dungeons, probably with set objectives, some defend while other take points or something like that, and I believe it will as always leave someone disappointed while other rave for it, but considering current mechanics and gameplay dynamics, nothing much will change, it is ok by me tho..
First of all I agree, this game could of course be perfected, areas tweaked, classes reworked, skill hunting brought back, sure the game has issues, but are they game breaking? for some the answer is yes, for others no.
Now, the way some players have put some unrealistic expectations on this makes me wonder on the actual state of human maturity, I mean, how much of an emotional investment are some hanging on this?
Really are some so upset to make them over zealous of “features” real or imagined from videogames?
No game will ever cater to all demographics and tastes, as has been commented, this is a business first and foremost before anything else, it is also entertainment with a fixed value of “content” they added most of the grind and features similar to other MMOs because the MAJORITY wanted that in order to keep playing it, and thus generating revenue for Anet.
Im sorry to all of those that felt that this was something else, hopefully it will never be a WoW clone, and hopefully it keeps its essence, but above all, hopefully people realize that this is a game with limited content, people get burnt out of limited content, the devs are not bots, this things take time.
So take a break my disgruntled fellows, maybe one day an infinite MMo will forever change the way we play or live our imaginary lives, in the meantime, this is as good as it gets in my opinion, the grinding as the fun are optional.
@eisberg i´m on the same page as you! I would never buy one RNG box, for the same reasons I don’t gamble in casinos, the hose wins almost every time, the game is rigged…
but some don’t mind, and even enjoy the risks, and there is nothing wrong with that, the issue here is that completionists need their fix, and the only way to get some stuff here is either real money or gambling…
I see nothing wrong with that, its up to everyone to kitten the risks and the rewards for some awesome pixels…
I do plan on getting the wings, and since those can be achieved in time spending time, then bring them on!
BTW, I have spent thousands of karma units in orrian jewel boxes for the orrian priest mini, and haven’t gotten a single one, the other day a guild mate leveling a toon comes with me to the vendor and gets the mini on his first box EVER…
probability is an ungrateful mistress, sometimes…
Things are just the way they are for a reason, in your title you clearly expressed it, pay to skin, and nothing more, I understand your reasons, everything should be obtainable without paying more, and in a way it is, you can convert gold gems, and in paper with enough work get whatever you want.
Its not much of a problem for me, if you want stuff you either work or pay for it, and that’s it, many have wisely said, its the same thing, you don’t actually need to get them to be better at the game, sure they look awesome!
If you have issues with RNG boxes then the only real solution is, don’t buy them.
You want awesome new skins, work for it.
The way of the world is just like that, you have the choice my friend!
As previous posters have said, its a matter of preference, my main is a hammer warrior, great for AoE and CC, u stun them while guildies finish them off, so far I find it satisfying to deal 1k upwards per swing.
Longsword is also very nice, you have mobility and damage, and with good trait combos can make group events easy
Rife I sometimes keep one handy, the burst damage is awesome and sometimes can finish mobs with it, its also a must have to deal damage to mega bosses, I have also tried the bow, and its ability to create combo fields makes it also worthwhile.
Axes deal tons of damage, coupled with a warhorn you will be bleeding and making criticals left and right.
right now since Im grouping with small teams, I have found that using 2 swords can be lots of fun, you can easily with the right combination of skills and traits bleed foes to death, and put mobs to bleed like crazy, getting to 25 stacks of bleeding can be easily achieved, on the downside if you run in large groups all that bleeding can go to waste, I haven’t tried maces as much as I would have liked to, so cant comment much on them.
As you can see, warriors can be very versatile, and cater to different play stiles, so experiment with what you like and have fun!
and remember ranged weapons are mostly for back up, you have to specialize to make them very effective as main weapons , still, it can be done…
Great post Op, that is my “end game”
Just running around exploring and hanging out with my guild makes up for any thing I could consider to be missing from GW2 gameplay mechanics wise, There is still room to improve, but GW2 is still just in its infancy, great games take lotsa tweaking and expanding to make them legendary!
@Kasama , what could be the pragmatical “larger value” of gaming, regardless of its growing tendencies?
could it be that some like actually doing stuff rather than just watching others do stuff? or find that more entertaining?
I think that dragon coffers will have a minuscule probability to drop the good stuff as usual, this is after all a business venture.
On the brighter side, those cool looking holo wings can be obtained by completing the meta and that will be enough for me, although those awesome weapon skins could be very tempting once you see some folks running around in LA with them..
Time will tell, hopefully we can discuss how “fair” RNG chests are in a few days, and not the opposite
@killcannon you say
“Customer feedback is important, one of the big three. Feedback, metrics, and listening (or communication). These three things are the key to improving any service. And an MMO is not a point of sale thing, but a service.”
but this game is both, its not an MMORPG in the traditional sense, it has a buy once model of distribution, and the added content could be considered a plus in the bundle, since the game does not have a monthly payment component any extra features are nothing more than nice extras, they are not bound to give us anything else, they already have our money anyway, besides reading the ToS, we don’t even “own” the software, and even if we did “own” it, it would be sold AS IS, and again, by accepting the ToS they could not be held liable under any means, even if using the software somehow affected you negatively in any way, so…
oh and about that comment on entropy, well its not that some people “just like entropy” and if we define entropy as the wearing down of the component parts of a CLOSED system because of heat, then everything is in a way moving towards entropy, change is the way the universe moves forward, that change means things will eventually wear down and pass away, nothing is eternal, we all die in the end, so moving on is actually the most efficient way of change, attrition can and has won wars, but its not as efficient as say, nuking or just letting things go.
(edited by TheProphetOmega.3596)
@killcannon – If said restaurant served what you perceive as kitten waste, and you simply don’t like kitten waste to eat, and if said restaurant ONLY served kitten waste, and you tell them that kitten waste is only poo for you and demanded that they change it because you don’t like their menu, after accepting a ToS agreement before entering the restaurant, then I feel that something wrong is going on…
No one is saying that complaining isn’t constructive, its the structure of the words used to complain and the manner in which they are sentenced what is worrying!
now don’t get me wrong everything in this life is an avenue for improvement in equal measure as everything being prone to fail, now I personally dont like abuse or “wasting” my time, and if something is upsetting then I move on.
There are ways of getting points across, and I believe we cannot be on different pages regarding the way some posts aren’t that well constructed in a manner that is coherent and thoughtful regarding perceived improvement for the game we either choose to love or hate!
cheers!
@Vayne – just my thoughts exactly! we share similar views!
(edited by TheProphetOmega.3596)
Cant stress this enough: dont grind, and grinding meaning staying in one place killing the same mob until it respawns again, this will not only dry up your soul but also leave you bored to the ground, doing hearts and specially events will level you up very efficiently.
Some people actually feel this game has very little content but by leveling alts you will find out that this game is HUGE! leveling up is a huge component of the game itself, hitting 80 isnt that meaningful in itself based on experience…
Take it easy my friend this isn’t a race, those minions, believe me will come.
bring it on! Those wings look awesome!
I will even try to get them unlike the flower and the tentacles…
be seeing you all to bash some dragons!
I would like to add to this discussion that opinions are not facts, no one has the monopoly on truth, second, that things only seem to be one way to some while the complete opposite might appear to others, in every modern gaming forum people take, in my opinion, things way to seriously, as if their lives depended on having certain assets supplied to some, or denied to others.
Relax people its just a game, is it perfect? for some it is for some it isn’t, rationality cannot be put on hold under any circumstance, and no I´m not a fanboy for GW2, i´m a fanboy of rationality, for me the game is just fine as it is, videogames are just pastimes, not the pinnacle of my life on earth.
So please stop flinging poo everywhere, some would like to think we are amongst equal members of the human race, not a kindergarten for mentally challenged amoebas.
I dont get it, if GW2 is so irritating and lacks so many things, then why are some even here? what keeps the disgruntled, well disgruntled doing engaging activities?
Now more than ever we have thousands of games to choose from besides this , for some wreck.
This is a call for sanity, whatever that means to some of you.
Back in the day, computer games came bundled with 50+ manuals explaining everything that could be done ingame, times have changed, the internet made manuals obsolete, youtube, wikis, dulfy, etc, can be searched with Google and all of your problems have a large chance of going away.
Some mechanics are different in this game, but if you have played videogames before you will find that the basics remain the same, so dont fret , you will get the hong of it, and if its up your alley, you will have one of the most engrossing gamings experiences ever!
so take it easy and have fun! there really is no need for tutorials or manuals!
There is something for everyone, I believe the devs managed to produce something extraordinary, I have been playing videogames since I can remember, and this is the first time that I feel that games are moving forward, sometimes it feels more like a toy, sometimes it feels like a blast from the past!
there is so much going on! hopefully, this continues the way it is, and creates an audience all for itself, of gamers that can take the time to enjoy the scenery, and then ready their swords and spells to bring the monster down, each akittens own pace.
I specially like the rhythm it has, for someone my age, its just what I like, not too slow, not too fast, just the right amount of grind for my needs, hopefully this game can grow and bloom as something different and not take shortcuts or easy roads to please the masses that just want more iterations of the same things.
great post Op!
Esya.3427 great site you shared! thanks! reminds me of the principles of impeccability proposed by the Castaneda´s entourage, which BTW I try to exercise in most of my waking hours.
Dahkeus.8243 Why so grumpy and judgmental my friend? the greatest logical flaw is pretending to understand all the subtle subtext in an all encompassing forum post!
In no way did I meant to judge or point finger at anyone, all opinions are valid, however flawed they are, if and only if, the transmitter can at least articulate properly whatever she, he or it was ranting about!
If something at least is gained by our collective efforts, is discussing in a meaningful way the sense and meaning of our goals and our pleasures derived from our GW2 experiences, we are discussing meaning and sense, the game becomes part of our lives, after all we spend valuable time in it, there is no proper way to do things, just efficient and inefficient paths to the same places, its up to us to decide where or when and most importantly how!
Lets keep this community sane, friendly and helpful, most of you know how most gaming forums are like, and how anonymity distorts our behavior, so far so good!
Thanks everyone!
some low level areas are empty most of the time, I guess some moved on, some have high level chars and dont want to look back, I see most folks running around in Queensdale, a few in Metrica and the other starting areas, but I rarely see more than 5 or 7 folks in the middle level areas.
I think they should look at the accounts of people that havent logged in months and put them all on a server, and either merge low pop servers or adjust the pops of some to make them even.
Many didn’t adjust to the freeform style of the game, tho!
cheers!
Lolz!
No!, don’t move on if you don’t want to, but you wont find solace here…
hows that?
Hint: Not all follow rules, some like reading
I also had a laugh at my uber long TL;DR
:)
@killcannon.2576 no, that over simplification was not the intended message of the Op, I´ll give you a TL;DR version:
If you do not balance out the components that make up your life, whatever these components may be, then GW2 or any other game or activity for that matter cannot give you solace or serve as a form of fulfilling escapism, so its ok to move on, although its even better to stay and have fun in any of the possible ways this game can offer.
sure we can all whine and cry about disliking stuff, but most of the times the things that makes us uncomfortable are really undetermined and hard to put into words, and when we manage to put them into words most arguments come out as trivial or egotistical, in the way that we are angry because things do not adapt to us instead of us adapting to them, like forcing a wrong jigsaw piece into place, completing a jigsaw puzzle like that is not only inefficient or silly but serves no purpose than annoying ourselves and others!
cheers!
No wonder we are screwed, there are way too many different people trying to mold this game right now.
@Aeonblade.8709 I dont think we are screwed, I believe this game is at a crossroads, either it caters to one demographic or it chooses to take the proverbial “leap of faith” and advances the genre forward or settles in with whats easily accepted.
I have also been in several gaming forums, but the feedback in here is much more meaningful than in other places, that speaks a lot about the players that choose this as their pastime, we can find all sorts of people and interests , if we could manage to keep it civil, we could as a community achieve so much more, maybe even helping the devs find that elusive middle line that could, if not make us all happy, at least help steer this awesome time waster into more adventurous waters!
after all as has been said before a game is just a game unless its not a game, and no the answer is 1313! or 5 because of the rule of fives…
:)
I also believe it to be an illusion, the queen must give out a glamorous image above all, besieged by all sides, the last beacon of humanity stands on her shoulders, those shoulders must be as strong and as silky as possible, kings and queens rely on glamor as well as on power to rule.
Although Lanfears answer seems legit as well!
Besides I wouldn’t want the queen dressed in any other way!
@Sad Swordfish.9743 thanks for the video link, very insightful, we tend to make things invisible because they are always there!
Thank you all for your comments!
In game terms, its the experience not the gear!
@Mujen.5287 I think the problem was the declining of quality over quantity, we as consumers opted the wrappers for the candies inside.
Developers saw this and they opted for the easy way out, once in a while something “different” comes and it takes a while for us to realize for what it really is, a jewel in the rough!
@Calae.1738 thats an awesome way to see it, games are also tools, games are also educational tools, games can also be art and so much more!
I will buy the XP as soon as they release it, more of the same quality cannot be a bad things, besides if they add stuff the core gameplay could change as well without needing to buy the xp for those inclined in avoiding it!
I suppose a new race, some skills and new areas will be added, maybe 2 extra character slots as well just like what happened in GW1!
How unromantic some folks are!
If everyone chose only vanilla ice cream then what a sad place this would be, some like to find cherries, almonds and ribbons of chocolate in our ice cream as well!
(notice how I didnt mention nuts)
:)
Its just a love letter to GW2, one does not just say “I like yo bewbs” and expect fireworks that easy!
@Sad Swordfish.9743 U got it! 10/10 for you! glad to see comments like that!
I agree with you, this is one AMAZING game, with so much detail and potential possibilities that a few years back I wouldn’t have thought possible!
Unfortunately some folks just want more of the same!
so devs stop taking chances and steer away from the uncharted waters!
@cesmode.4257 U are right things get stale after a while, dont get me wrong I like to make “progress” as well, I specially enjoy bashing stuff with my pimped hammer and flawless skillset specially in WvsW, I played Diablo 3 consistently and even “played” the AH there until I got bogged down by the sheer madness of doing the same stuff over and over again for minuscule gains, GW2 makes tiny cracks in the progression mold, so I decided to take a different approach into this whole ordeal and as a result I enjoy this game so much more, again sometimes I try to race through stuff and have to remind myself to take it easy, I dont want to burn myself yet!
@LanfearShadowflame.3189 that’s the whole idea!
Sure I chose to liven stuff a little by changing the wording format of the Op, just to shake stuff a bit, but also to reach out to those that care! thanks for your input!

Forever broken, I suppose.
I dont think so, I just feel that our content consuming ways are making us forget what some thing were meant to be, we approach every thing the same way, we reiterate the same structures over and over again, and feel uncomfortable when some things dont adjust to certain expectations we might have, we like to make everything a grind, and grinds start to drag, drags begin to wear us down.
I have never been to church BTW, any church, dunno if school counts !
I was just trying to express some feelings on the matter, in no way trying to diss or uphold one view in particular, just some concerns regarding the nature of our entertainment consuming habits.
Thanks everyone for your valuable inputs!
glad to bring a bit of Mindkitten so “early” lolz!
