I’ll be direct. Previous changes to Rev made me stop playing. I play a Ventari based rev and I could usually still make it work up until that patch. And from what I’ve seen you guys are pretty much killing any rev build that’s based on power (not sure if condi rev can work with these changes).
Even for the meta shiro/glint these changes seem harsh.
I hope you guys have some major improvements to Ventari/x builds sustain.

Fair number tweaks. Nothing you wouldn’t expect. Thanks god they haven’t put more cooldowns in and bumped energy cost up instead.
Not like it changes anything for Revenants – Shiro is still the best PvP legend due to stunbreak and you don’t have real alternatives. Not appealing.
Let’s be honest at that energy cost they should remove the cooldown…

With the amount of boon corruption necromancer will have access to no revenant will be able to survive.
Because:
1. All revenant builds possible rely on boons to cover their main weakness (either CC or condition damage)
2. Since revenants are incredibly weak to conditions having your boons corrupted will hurt even more.
3. Necromancers/Reapers will almost certainly have a place in the next meta.
Boon corrupt on AA is too strong instead boon removal as an extra for the scepter trait would be better.

Well as a Ventari/Glint main with over 400h on it I’d say that Ryms feedback mostly applies.
Overview:
Some hate it, some like it. Over Beta Weeked Event 2 I’ve spent most of my time with Ventari Legend in all three game modes and I think that I’m capable of providing some good feedback on it.
Ventari certainly feels like a Legend that takes the most skill, certainly the most skill out of all supports in the entire game. The Tablet mechanic is interesting, but often not intuitive. Before I start with particular skills, here’s my list of Tablet changes:
- When using Ventari’s Will, there should be an UI line for the caster between the Tablet current location and Ground-targeted area. This way, caster can see the line Tablet will pass through and adjust it with better idea. (Similar line to ones created by Shovel #2 in Silverwastes when searching for chests). EDIT: After Revenant commands the Tablet, the line should appear for allies, too.
- EDIT: Healing should’ve been more visible. Give Fragments some bonus visual like green “+” above them, and let both Revenant and his allies see the radius in which Tablet healing is effective.
- Ventari’s Will should have 1500 range. Period. Having to click two times just to get your Tablet back is horrible.
- Both Ventari’s Will and Project Tranquility have to be instant cast. Cast time on those is the main reason why Tablet feels clunky to use in my opinion.
- Tablet’s travel speed should be increased. By the time it travels 900 units, you might be dead already.
- Radius of Tablet has to be increased to 300. Healing anyone who’s more mobile than Necromancer or Guardian is terrible experience. The radius is simply not large enough. I often miss the heal by couple units, swearing, because my ally moves too quickly.
- As mentioned, remove the cast times from Tablet management, but add cast times to Natural Harmony and Purifiying Essence. The counterplay is currently in wrong place – you can counter Tablet positioning, but not healing cast.
Now, the skills
6. Project Tranquility - Increase Healing Power scalling on this one. It’s barely noticeable even with full Cleric’s gear. Rest was mentioned above.
For open-world events it’s useful to keep other alive a special note goes to the Triple Trouble event where Ventari excels.
On raiding it’s possible to complete the encouters it’s just that druid and tempest are a lot better.

How about ditching the tablet as something you have to move? I’ve seen someone suggest that perhaps the player could hold the tablet and become the center of its abilities.
Or make the Tablet act as a follower and follow you around automatically?
Both are terrible and boring suggestions. They come from older posts when the tablet was indeed clunky to use and from players that want to play a tempest but don’t feel like changing professions.
The tablet mechanic is a major characteristic that distinguishes Ventari support from other supports. It promotes a more active play style based around positioning , predicting and micromanaging which is fun to most that stuck with it. Removing the tablet and creating another carbon copy of a PBAoE healer, in practice the only kind available, is boring and alienates those that want something different.
For those that want a PBAoE healer you guys already have guardians, tempests and druids please stop trying to fit a round peg in a square hole.

Problem with banning profession stacking is that professions with multiple builds that perform a different role wouldn’t be able to be used simultaneously.

LOL, you obviously don’t get outside of PvP much, class balance wise across all 3 game modes this game has always been a joke and this patch is no different.
As I have said..thx god anet stopped listening to forum rants…the problem is not class balance for like 90% of the cases…the game can carry you just this much…you need actual practice after that
Well you are hypocrite. When elementalist got forced into a single build you complained to no ends. Now that primarily Off-meta revenant got nerfed, forcing us all into invocation shiro/glint, you are praising them as great changes….

Staff 5 was over the top. Honestly it shouldn’t even be an evade. Staff 2 can daze (if used right), Staff 4 condi clears+heals, Staff 3 blocks, and Staff 5 is a cc, evades, and deals damage… Staff is fine
They nerfed the CC capability quite a bit with the stab change… I didn`t care about the damage too much but honestly they are overnerfing it.

Cleric: Healing, Power, and Toughness.
Minstrel: Toughness, Healing, Boon Duration, and Vitality.
Cleric. You can without any effort get perma protection and regen without Ministrels.

I am sorry to disappoint you, but you cant deny that Druids are a bit over tuned,
From the time I have spent playing Ranked, I have never been so frustrated when playing against Druid than other classes.
Every single Ranger uses Bristleback or Smokescale,
You talk about ‘’kill his pet’’, but as far as I remember their pets on average has ~26k HP, and are pretty much as tanky as any other player, and deals meowton on damage.On top of that they can swap it from one broken pet to other, and you have to start your ‘’Kill quest’’ all over again.
And this isnt even a tip of cancer made by Druids.
But I guess I should reroll back to Necro when first ’’balance’’ patch kicks in.
Funny enough, they buffed Druids.Gotta wonder where does Anet Balance Team get that feedback.
They might be able to swap but if you kill the pet it’s a 45~60 sec cooldown.

I agree with many here: I find the design of the map to be very bland. I love capricorn, this is by far my favorite map in terms of design. Coliseum might be my least favorite. It is straight daylight, and mostly wooden props. Very little variety and contrast.
Then, the secondary mechanics feels useful but plain too. I had a game where we consistently won the team fights without the buffs, and consistently lost them when they had the buffs. However, it feels just like one more conquest map with secondary summons.
I think the future maps should aim at having a secondary mechanics which feels like a totally different phase of the game. For example, I would have changed spirit orb so that when the orb spawns, the capture point deactivate and everyone has to move towards the orb. Conquest is a very linear game mode, the secondary mechanics need to mess things up.
So overall, this map feels to me like “yet another standard conquest, but with below average visuals”.
I agree with this feedback. While not ideal for every map the solution presented might work on spirit watch.
On Coliseum
- Paths feel too linear needs some jump shortcuts between nodes and to ramps.
- Channel time on secondary objectives is too short, it’s hard to catch up because of that and it’s hard to interrupt the channel do to LoS from the ramp.

I would gladly use 10 initiative for an infiltrator’s arrow with 1200 range and teleported me through walls and gave me unblockable attacks. Oh, but then I would only be able to use it every 10 seconds instead of every 5 like revs.
Good nerfs. Energy is supposed to be a limiting factor for revs like initiative is for thieves. Learn to manage.
Thieves don’t spend initiative on heal/utility/elite learn the mechanics before commenting. Also PT requires a target and bugs out depending on terrain while spending energy.

Overall changes are good except balance changes:
Shouts are now a utility worth slotting
But in particular Revenants sustain was overnerfed only shiro/glint has a chance on surviving now. Ventari needs now massive improvements to self-sustain and summoning/moving tablet has to be instant cast.
My suggestion for ventari
While not amazing (and heavily outclassed by tempests) Ventari was viable pre patch.
Nerfs to overall revenant sustain and defenses and the removal of runes of durability combined with overall higher pressure made it unviable.
These changes are aimed at keeping the playstyle while increasing the reliability and returning the sustain to more manageable levels.
- Project Tranquility
Make it instant cast and reduce the energy cost to 5
- Ventari’s will
Make it instant cast and increase the modifier to 0.5 (from 0.4).
- Natural Harmony
Give it a 1 sec cast time, decrease cooldown to 1 sec, remove the delay and increase the modifier to 1 (from .6)
- Purifying Essence
Decrease energy cost to 25
- Hardened Foundations
Change it to Healing Power -> Vitality

My personal evaluation of ventari.
On traits I agree with you on hardened foundations.
All ventari utilities except need protective solace need a 40 radius buff (more than that would make the tablet movement useless.).
Ventari’s Will
Increase the movement speed (the reason we cannot make it instant cast is for us to be able to be CC’ed I guess).
Natural Harmony
Increase scaling from 0.6 to 1 reduce base heal by 20%. This skill scales horribly with HP specially compared to the elite (2.5)
Protective Solace
-8 upkeep is a bit to high for the cooldown. Reducing it to -7 would solve.
Purifying Essence
Except for the radius this skill is good.
Energy Expulsion
Increasing the duration of the orbs to 8 second would help with self sustain.
Overall my evaluation is the same as after BWE3.
Dont see why ,its not reflect projectiles like ele magnatic aura or engi hammer #2 skill which is only on 6s CD.
Mesmer traited has 4 sec reflect on 15sec Cd heal and focus also generates light field with reflect much more than what im suggesting for centaur.
I re-read your comment and agree that it might not be OP but would certainly make energy management useless, with those high cooldowns and low energy cost, effectively removing the profession mechanic from the equation.

It’s fun to me that when they were discussing reveal of Ventari they said they didn’t want to make it another bunker who heals, but more of a selfless healer and went with that outgoing healing increases….
Just to introduce Druid a while after which is a bunker healer.

I’m having trouble understanding this. How does it affect the trait in practical terms
If you have protection, RotGD and close quarters you would get before 91% damage reduction (1-50%-(1-33%) * (1-10%) now you get 71% (1-(1-33%) * (1-10%) * (1-50%)).

In my case it is because whenever I make a male character I try to identify myself with it but it seems to be impossible to make a male character that I identify myself with in most MMOs. Female characters do not feel like me at all therefore I do not need to identify myself with them.
TLDR : Male characters are in the uncanny valley for me.

Also what u ppl dont understand is that all these nerfs are crippling it in pve.
thats what anet doesnt understand. rev needs slight dps buffs in pve, not nerfs. and shiro should be reworked. as soon as you have quickness in pve its completely useless. impossible odds should give like 10-15% dmg increase instead of quickness.
Well if they fix the PS bug and balance it to produce the same damage in PvP that will be at least a buff they can do without problems. IMO quickness has more utility for everything else so I would rather keep it.

Which traits could they merge within Salvation?
Outside of Nourishing Roots with Tranquil Benediction,there isn’t much which looks merge able.Any of the outgoing healing traits van be merged with serene rejuvenation.
Outside of merging Tranquil Balance and Serene Rejuvenation….nothing can be merged in a way that is both easy to understand and simple to explain and implement – and this is coming from a guy who’s main language ain’t english.
Tranquil Balance is also IMO the best candidate for it. Not because of how it is interpreted but because of how it interacts with everything else.

I just managed to repeat it again. 1 precision strike hit 6 times for a total of ~8k damage.
The opponent was a mesmer, in the down state, on clock tower right next to the wall (the little edge next to the capture point, not the one wall of the tower itself).
That is almost certainly a bug introduced when they tried to fix the “Not targeting downed players” bug.

IMO, I think Revenant is getting closer to a good spot in terms of balance. It just needs a lot number tweaks/QoL adjustments.

This patch is actually amazing. I mean the patch content is ok, but the real deal is implementing balance changes that isn’t tied to a 6 month huge game overhaul patch! The last balance patch was April 19. Today is May 3. That’s less than a month! This is a huge breakthrough for Arenanet!
I agree. Doing small “shaves/nerfs/buffs” more regularly is WAAAAAYYY better than swinging the nerf bat every 3 months and destroying classes or over buffing some.
Doing this on a monthly or bi-weekly basis would do wonders towards balancing the game. A 2sec cd increase here, a 10% damage nerf there. Small stuff like that and see how it goes.

The time and energy tax when you swap to Ventari is immensely frustrating. That’s what I’ve noticed. I don’t have Herald yet, but I’m running around with Ventari/Shiro. I almost never actually enter Ventari.
“Inefficient” is the word I would use to describe Ventari. It could be good with minor tweaks, such as an auto-tablet summon when you swap to Ventari (especially since it summons right on you anyway), and removal of cast time on moving the tablet. Other possibilitiesfor tweaks exist.
I agree on removing the cast time on Ventar’s Will but it’s better to have the tablet summon at skill usage instead (if not summoned).

Dejavu I agree that if these are the mats that are required it really is to high.
I would recommend about the amount needed in legendaries from what I could see you can easily fit 20 bolts in this amount…

Hey guys, did you really actually look into OP’s report before blaming everything on MMR hell?
Please note the few things on OP’s report:
1. Matchup systems from both season 1 and season2 have problems. But season 2 matchup is better in terms of reflecting true player skills(even with MMR hell existing)2. MMR hell is mostly due to login randomness. I interpret this as at certain times the system can’t find good meaningful games with limited amount of player in a certain pip region.
3. Uneven matches are bad but they shouldn’t affect MMR by that much. When you are in a losing streak against vast superior teams. It really shouldn’t punish your MMR ratings that badly.
so is there a safeguard in place for MMR in matchups against superior opponents then that means that the MMR does not drop
MMR in uneven matches does drop but far less than in a even matchup.

I get shield was nerfed, but isn’t still filling a good roll or is it just not good compared with the others?
It has a niche role for healing power builds shield 5 has a 2 modifier (.5 per pulse) healing still quite well.
The role it currently performs sword OH can do better (having more frequent blocks) for DPS builds or you can take Axe for mobility.
Considering that almost anyone is using a DPS build there isn’t any reason to take shield.
And the reason they don’t change is because open-world isn’t hard enough to require it.

Was wondering what people used for getting condi clear on their rev, i know we have traits for this but tbh they are useless, dodge roll is only 1 and i dont want 2 swap legend just to clear a single condi. ive tried using mallyx for the resistance but if that gets corrupted, which atm it dose all the dam time, it pointless. any thoughts? (i should said im playing power with 100% crit chance and am using a generosity in my off hand)
For power rev there is staff… And staff. Avoid fighting reapers and avoid having condis applied to you in the first place. There is nothing else you can do. If you aren’t using retribution start using it and take versed in stone.
