If only I can bind my mouse wheel I will come back, I know this may sound silly to most but I wont play a game that wont let me bind my mouse wheel to abilities.
It should not be that hard to make this simple change, this might not be important to most but to players like me it is.
Remove all enemy nameplates.
It sounds like you don’t actually want GW2 at all, but rather some other game to be honest.
That’s not it, I just want this game to be the best it can be, add major ground sweeping content that will grow the game, this is what’s missing from MMO’s today IMO.
We have wayyyy to many MMO’s nowdays so game Dev are to afraid to do crazy stuff like they use back in the day, they fear of failure and the loss of money and that is understandable, but what MMO need to understand because we have way to many MMO’ today they need to stay ahead of the game if not they will bleed players.
In todays MMO world MMO pretty much have a 50/50 chance of making it, GW2 has made it and established themselves as a good game with a good amount of people playing, theyhave the love and i’m pretty sure the have the money by now, but in business it takes money to make money, you got to keep feeding the beast of it will die.
GW2 is safe for the most part but they need to keep the people they have and bring new people in and the only way to do that is with game changing content, take the best of other games and add it to GW2 with there own flavor.
You got to keep it new for players of they will leave, it’s as simple as that, to date there are only 2 MMO that grew strady for 10 years, one WoW and the other is EvE Online, the reason is simple, you add more you bring more, granted EvE online pretty much had and has a monoply when it comes to Space MMO’s but WoW did not, out of the hundreds of fantasy MMO’s that came out over the last 10 year, WoW stayed ontop because they keept things new and fresh, GW2 can take that throne if they play there cards right, GW2 has a solid game engine (unlike Swtor, and that why they failed), the lore, the fans(like WoW) and a timeless artsyle that will still look good 8 years from now, all they have to do is take it.

Almost forgot, I would be very happy with a new weapon type in the game for all classes, unarmed fist weapon, crossbow, 2 handed axe, also add a new layer to adventuring add grappling hooks for climbling mountains.
Also lets open up the waters for ships, yes ships, large guild battle ships, small underwater subs to make way for a new WvW and SPvP play type, naval warfare like in Darkfall Unholy Wars.
Player housing would be great too, or how about ground mounts that you can gear up and use in battle, like a new combat set when mounted, picture progressing not only your character but your mount with armor, better stats for speed , skills, this should be simple to balance if all classes have the ability to gear there own mounts with the same skill combos.

I can’t speak for everyone but as far as I go what keeps me playing the same MMO for years is change, big changes like new land masses, new classes and such.
I am content so long as I have something big to look forward to, I am happy that at least you are adding some type of progression even though the stats on new gear is small, I am also happy to see more perma content, however I need something game changing.
With all the new MMO’s coming out, EQNL,TESO & Wildstar (yes I beta tested all) to name the major ones off the top of my head I fear you have might have to bring on one of those big changes I was talking about.
I know a few people have been pondering a new class and I know that’s a lot of work and money, so I was thining what about a advance layer of character progression to all classes, okay hear me out.

Upon max level let players advance there class in secondary training from other professions, okay picture this, I am a level 80 Warrior, via a quest or what ever the case may be I have the option to train in (example) the art of becoming a novice Necro, meaning that my Warrior can learn lower level Nerco skills that modify my Warriors weapon attacks with that secondary training or maybe the abilty to unlock the secondary classes utilty skills, I know this would be a pain in the kitten to balance so just make so secondary training can only be used in WvW and PvE, keep those secondary training skill away from SPvP.
I need something to look forward to and the same old classes no matter what content will get old fast, I am already showing signs of this as I rearly log on now, but the thing is I love this game, I love the lore the setting the way the game feels but I’m bored, I need to having something big to look forward too.
I played WoW for 7 years because WoW always keept things fresh, new land masses, classes, races, even major class revamps ever other year or so, before WoW I played EQ1 for 3 years and they did the same, new land masses, even a expac that updated the GFX on all classes, I really hate to see this game take a hit because of players getting bored, and with Wildstar, Elders Scroll Online and EQ-Next, this is going to happen unless you take a page out of WoW’s book, and drop some major game sweeping chages that keep players hooked, I mean players all ready have the time invested in GW2 and would love to stay but it’s like the new job opportunity scenario, you love you current job, love the co-workers, even the love boss (I know rare lol), but this other job is willing to pay alot more money and the only thing that would keep you from leaving is a raise, hell the raise dont’ even have to be as a large as what the other job is offering because your ties and connection with your current job more then makes up for it, but that small raise will by your current job will show you how much they don’t want you to leave.
So Anet give me that small raise and I will turn down that big job offer.

so built this new PC a few weeks ago and with GW2 specifically, im not really getting the performance I would expect from my build
im currently running on an amd fx 6300 3.5 ghx (overclocked at 3.9)
ga 970 – D3SP (I know motherboard sucks, for overclocking i will get a new one sometime later)

8 gigs RAMim happy with performance of other games just not gw2 for some reason. Anyone care to explain whats going wrong? Roaming around freely I get around 45 FPS avg

I dont know, I wonder the same thing, I get 10 FPS when im in WvW with alot of people zerging, but no other game this bad.
I also play Planetside 2 in high settings and let me tell you, you dont know real WvW PVP untill you play that game on a weekends, anyways in Planetside 2 I have been in combat with more them 300+ people on the screen, planes flying over head bombing, shooting you name it and never drop below 40 FPS, and Planetside 2 has wayyy better GFX then Guild Wars 2.
I think it’s the GW2’s engine, it has to be because the Lightforge engine from Planetside 2 runs smooth on my PC with more people on the screen, and getter GFX.
I am willing to bet if they remove name plates over players heads you would see a nice 30 FPS jump, this could be the reason I get no lag in Planetside 2, there are no CHEAP name plates over anyones head, only a small marker can be placed that last 10 seconds if you hit mark target, other then that all enemies and Alli are mark free.

Spec for condition removal..? If dodges would remove one condition, Anet would need to change a lot of utility skills, skills and traits in terms of balance. Some classes with plenty of access to vigor would have the option not to be threatened by condition builds anymore and thereby you have created several professions that can render condition builds useless, diminishing build diversity which is horrible.
Yeah im sure they would have to tweak other skills but the result is what we see now,, vigor would need to be adrressed for some classes for sure.
Removing 1 condition might negate a lot more than 1k direct dmg.
Same as dodging a crit from a power attack, its far to easy to apply condi vs power attacks, this I feel is what wrong with pvp balance.
This should help balance out the OP condi spamming.
Lets think about it for a sec, a power attack has to land to do it’s damage, it’s also reduced by toughness, condi is not, a power attack hits for around 400-1200 non crit depending the weapon skill and class, condi damage can tic over 1k with enough stacks.
Power attacks have a cast time like condi attacks but the difference is power attacks are not consistent like condi attacks are, so pretty much you apply a condi on a target and the target is screwed unless the target has a condi removal, condi damage can’t be dodged once its on, it can’t be blocked once its on, it can’t be wiped with line of sight once its on, it cant be reduced by toughness and it has a unlimited range, meaning once you apply the condi the target can run across the map and still take damage unlike power attacks, now add a pet to the mix, pretty much another condi attack that never fades that deals power attacks, this is whats wrong with Gw2’s spvp.
You can not have real balance when one attack type is better then the other in every single way, so in turn this leaves 3/4 of all the builds in the game under par and pretty much useless.
To fix spvp or help it a bit have dodge remove one condi, also have condi damage be suppressed during blocks, this would not effect pve at all, this only helps balance out the major differences between condi and power damage in pvp.
This should help level the playing field between power builds and condi builds in spvp.

I’m going to tell you different. A skilled engineer can beat any build if they build correctly. They might lose the point and it might take a bit of time for some builds, but there’s always a way.
Yes but how much harder did you have to try in order to win as compared to any other class? I know first hand because I play many classes and the Eng is by far the hardest to play to achieve the same results, I have to try 10 times harder on my Eng to gain the same results is my point.

The balance is not there, for one you can’t have a esport when countering an attack depends on animations and no cast bar when you have character models that are so tiny that you can’t see them with the naked eye, Anet would need to add enemy cast bars.
Another thing Anet would need to do is fix overpowered class builds, nerf conditions by a lot as of right now to many classes have it far to easy with conditions, this will result in every player just playing the same classes in a esport setting.
Another thing is classes with loads of pets, meaning condition Mesmers with 15 clones, Necros with there 72 demons and spirit Rangers playing the game for them, those classes have a unfair advantage over other classes and builds, the skill floor is super low and the effective result is super high, pretty much facerolling to victory.
Anet would also have to fix the skill caps and floors for each class, you cant have a esport when some classes can do the same as another class with half the effort.
Anet should just forget about the idea and focus on doing the best they can in making the game fun, adding content and so on, to make this game an esport game would be a waste of time by now, you want esport, you’ll have to go with FPS combat or moba games, MMO games are just to tricky to pull.
I say give our turrets legs, make them little robots like the Eng class in Wildstar, make it a trait that mobile’s them.
Really looking to find a build that is viable in sPvP without focusing on nades/bombs. Can’t seem to find one though, so just feels like I’m forced into playing something I don’t enjoy on the profession I enjoy the most. :/
That’s how I feel. I love the concept but hate that they want us to use the kits, I hate the way the kits they look and handle, (and this being a looks game I say it matters).
I however made the best of a rifle build no kits and I do pretty well, but I know I am playing 10 times harder then everyone else in the game just to hold true to what I enjoy.
I really hope that one day the Eng class would make it out of Beta and Anet can refine this class (fingers are crossed) Oh well if not Ill just make the best of it until something else comes along that brings me better version of an Engineer class. until then I’ll be for Everquesting the Next day Lol.

Fun concept. You’ll likely want to change several things as you play with it and gain experience in the game.
A couple of purely mathematical observations—+5% damage is always better than +5% crit chance when under +50% crit damage. Also, healing turret is always better than elixir H without traits.

Hi everyone I wanted to share my none kit rifle build for spvp, I have been testing this build out for the last week and found this build to be crazy fun, good damage, and take take a crap load of damage while stunned, you welcome stuns, (yes you heard me you welcome stuns lol)
I went 20 into Firearms, Hair Trigger (VI), Rifle Mod (IX) for the extra damage and lower cooldown.
I then went 30 into Inventions with Stabilized Armor (IV), Cloaking Device (VI), Power Shoes (VIII), this will give you the speed you need to move around and some great anti stun damage and a cloak to get out of a jam or as a passive form of damage mitigation.
Last I went 20 into Alchemy using Acidic Coating (III) & Protection Injection (VI) for your 33% damage reduction vis protection, the key here is how this seems to stack with Stablized Armor giving me a massive 53% damage reduction when stunned, which is pretty much all day in spvp, and with a clock for roots.
As I said no kits, I hate them I think they are look like crap IMO so that being said I use Rocket Boots for my get out of jail free card along with Elixir C (our only condition removal with Elixir X.
Gear I use +5% crit on my rifle giving me a standard 21% crit (not to bad) along with soldier Amulet & Divinity Runes.
What do you think, also any advice on a non kit Rifle Eng would be welcome.
My only grip is fighting heavy condition builds and the lack of good personal healing like every other class in the game.
P.S. I love the Idea of A.E.D but this skill is lacking, Anet why not make this healing skill passively heal when not used like the new Mesmer heal in some way, maybe have it the Engineer for a percentage of the damage taken, something like 5%?

Lmao because people cant excel at both(sarcasm). So what you are saying here is that you think engi sucks because it has a higher skill level. For a lot of people challenges are fun and when hard work turns to great output you feel successful in real life or game. Some of the greatest things are the most difficult to achieve.

Engineer was announced last and came very late in development in regards to bugfixes and QA. At launch, we were a strange mix of grossly overpowered and non-functional.
The dev team worked really hard and things have been pretty good now for a while. A few of the old lower-priority (read: not gamebreaking) problems remain.
I’m curious as to which area of the game you feel engineer doesn’t work well in? I can’t speak much to PvE, but as far as I can tell we’re doing just fine in PvP and WvW. If you want, hop on one of the “better” professions and come duel me sometime, I’d love to change your opinion about this amazing profession
It’s hard to put my finger on it, but the class just feels like it suffers from lack of direction like we have with the other classes, don’t get me wrong the class is fun but it lacks in may areas to me, mainly the feel of the class, the skills seem not practical in use compared to other classes, mostly gimick-y at best, the class needs to be more streamline and not so much kit heavy to be effective, to tell you the truth I really don’t know as i’m not a game dev. but something just feels off to me, but maybe its me who knows.

Lol great video, that’s my point, a Guardian can NEVER do what we saw here in that video, I feel it’s because they really can’t make use of healing gear at all with 13k health.
I have been hit for more then 10k on my Warrior and just lol if off when I have healing gear on because I still have over 20k health and my health regen is on overload, no class can out dps my regen with shouts, no no matter what build or class, it just cant be done, the only time I die is if im being zerged by like 4 or more.
Anyways this is really about the Guardian and I feel they are lacking big time for a class with no escapes, lets look at the other classes with low base health, Ele and Thief, those class are fine because they can escape any fight but a Guardian can’t they have to soak up the damage with no escapes at all, a Warrior is like the Guardian in that they are meant to soak up damage but the only real difference is the Warrior has escapes via GS,Banner,Sword.
My point is I feel that base health is to low to make any good use of Clerics jewls on a Guardian lockdowned with heavy burst like you could on a Warrior, I feel that all class health should be normalized and then balance skills around that, Anet failed to realize lockdowns with heavy burst when they made the choice to give classes different health pools, the Warrior for example can gain 900+ healing a sec with 2.7K burst healing from shouts using clerics (more then any Guardian) all while sitting at a comfortable 20k+ health meanwhile a Guardian trying to do the same will have 13k health with a Shield proc on a 40 sec cooldown, it’s not balanced as of now, maybe when this game first came out but with all the tweaks to how healing scales and works this left a large gap in balance when it comes to base health pools for some classes.

Make a Warrior if you don’t have one already, go to the mist, trait the warrior with shout healing, rune the warrior in soldiers runes along with clerics jewls, now fight any of the enemies in the mist without dodging , just got toe to toe, then log onto to any other class, better yet a Guardian, trait him full bunker and do the same as you did with the Warrior (no dodging just toe to toe), then come back and tell me your findings.

There should be a trait that turns turrets into little tanks with wheels that follow the engineer around.
Rif/GS for with a 0/0/30/30/10 build in WVW, and i never ever, ever die 1v1 ,1v2 or 1v3, the reason is the GS escapes with the Rif control, my fav thing to do and play scared by having a small group chase me up top a high cliff, run to the edge, stop swap from my GS to Rif then BAM, watch 3 or more fall to there death lol.

Works for me, i have no problem killing anyone, well bunker builds are a pain and no one wins, for me this build and setup is perfect for solo play, i never played pur dps builds in any mmo, i always played tanky classes and builds, also with this build no on can run from me at all, or kite me, i can and will go toe to toe with a pure range class and win because they cant put a dent on my health but i can whittle them down. I also forgot to say i use pure claircs gear and soilder runes to remove conditions, so im stacking 4condition removals via shouts that also heal me for over 2k, so over 8k triggered healing ontop of passive every 30 seconds, my effective health is over 70k

I’m am completely tired of having to run MASS CONDI REMOVAL and CRAPTASTIC DPS, just to survive the typicall encounter: Mesmer, Mesmer, Thief, Thief, Thief, Perplexity Engi, Perplexity Engi, Warrior Warrior Warrior…..

I feel your pain, every MMO that I have played ends up doing the same stupid mistake, It’s like they haven’t learned at all, they are all to busy following WoW.
The problem is to much CC and the “set it and for get it damage” or (damage over time effects) in GW2’s case they are called conditions.
The problem is both those effects end up making PvP auto pilot by just spamming CC to win or applying conditions and just riding it out till the enemies die, it really takes no skill to just land 3 hits to kill an enemy and that’s what CC and conditions do, it takes away the movement, positioning from a PvP game and ends up becoming a who can CC and condition first.
Signet of Malice: Heals for 33% of critical damage.
This would open up more builds that rely less on stealth to stay alive for some builds I think.

Mouse Wheel Back = Heal (Razer Naga Program)
All skills on my 12 mouse buttons, leaving my keyboard movement for my left hand, more control because I don’t ever have to move my left hand from movement keys.
Remove all nameplates from WvW, only show a small commander type arrow over the enemies head of the server color, only show health bar on enemy targeted, also make it so colored enemy arrows only show within 900 range to match that of all classes average range.
This would reduce lag, also helps small groups go off on there own recon missions without being spotted from a mile away.
This would promote scout play to spy on enemies, solo players to hide and seek if they please, overall it would make WvW feel more like a real war then a zerg video game.
Maybe something like this icon over enemies heads when near http://ec.l.thumbs.canstockphoto.com/canstock0658067.jpg and only show health bar and server name & guild tab when targeted?

Massive counter offensive with nothing to lose.
Stopped playing after Dragon Bash again for the 3rd time now.
-No permanent content = bad I feel alienated and left out because I can’t see all the content or have any idea what’s been happening
-Gear is still a real issue in this game for me. I’ve been stuck with rares for a while and getting a group to go farm exotics is a hassle for me for when I play. Spamming LFG XXX dungeon all night brings me nothing which brings me to another issue
-No LFG tool still? I might consider playing again if more convienence was added to this game. Like I said it still feels like a hassle to have or feel like you are on level with everyone else if you only play casually like I do.
I also stopped playing because of all of the above, I dislike temp content unless it’s seasonal also lack of LFG tool big mistake, if they want to target casual players then a LFG tool is a MUST not temp content of what ever bull they are telling us.
1. I will tell you this, for me to come back and play everyday I need a LFG tool, I am a causal solo player 90% of the time, I only enjoy talking to people if I have to, like if I group or I am doing tpvp, other then that I do not want to spam in chat nor use a web site.
2. Temp content is a JOKE unless it’s some seasonal event, I want to progress at my own pace not A-Nets pace, (I have a real life you know)

Fear dura went up 30% from what I heard, correct me if I’m wrong.
It’s funny though, for the last year I have never been hit by so many back to back fears by a single Necro until this patch, I swear no lie I went from 100-0 in a fear spam and I have 29k health on my Warrior, this happen to me more then once on all my characters.

Yeah that’s how I feel, me personally I really have no main characters, I only have 1 level 80 Ranger just for pve but I pvp mainly with a Warrior and Eng and also play a Guardian and Mesmer so I know all to well about pro and cons of those classes, however I never played a Necro, I just know from my exp with the classes I do play something is very, very off with Necros right now, the balance is not there and I dare to even call them overpowered at this stage in the game.

Are you ppl even read patch notes ? we got +0.5 sec fear from doom and Spectral Wall fear 1s. So +1.5 sec of fear is overbuff ?!xD Even if we use staff fear +1.1/4sec its not perma fear.

Well it’s funny that overnight necros went from strong to overpowered and I am not the only one seeing this, I’m not sure what happen as I don’t play one but I know something is off, also Stability I agree it is key but again the balance is off, after a curtain point Stability is useless vs chain CCing along with the “set it and forget it” passive damage (dots & pet).
The balance is way off, everything needs to be balanced from damage to CC ratio, Ranged to Melee ratio & Health to Toughness ratio, this is why, example, Guardians have low base health, the ratio calls for it so the class can be balanced

stability
No use when you get chain feared , the problem is not CC alone it’s the balance with passive damage to CC ratio, lets take any other class, the can CC but they have to face and apply damage, the nerco at this point does not, they apply damage via dots & pets then chain CC from 100-0 unlike no other class

Nercos are beyond overpowered now, they are way to strong, way to many ways to keeps a player perma feared from 100-0.
What you guys need to understand is a class that has passive damage, like dots/pets (Damage over time) should not in any way have the control they have now, the reason is players will just end up playing like cowards and dot & run or dot and chain CC, a necro is one of those classes, classes that should have strong CC are the ones that need to stay on the target to do damage, the difference is a nercro justs needs to apply dots then CC not even having to face the target due to damage just rolling off the enemy. you guys over buffed Nercos big time, and I think you guys may know it by now.
I like the changes overall, sword revamp is what I’m looking forward to the most, I can’t wait to test out some weapon combos with that, sword/shield with warrior’s sprint seems like it might be a good control build.

I don’t understand this should be TOP PRIORITY, this is a core game mechanic bug.
I started up Gw2 saw a small patch, I thought, “SWEET” this is the dodge roll fix, loged in and NOPE, it’s still broken, log back out and made this post.
Same here on all my classes, it seems to cancel when I roll moving sideways using a keybind, roll only works right with double tap.
This needs to get fixed soon, I haven’t played because of this, I log in to check if it is fixed , if not I log out.
