Hi all, I ‘m an experienced player with a few Level 80 characters (Warrior, Necro, Ranger and Mesmer). I’m looking for a small to medium sized guild that is very social, friendly and consist of mainly mature players. I am from Australia so looking for an Australian based guild preferably.

I am not fussed if you don’t have a fancy website, voice chat or if you run guild missions, I just want a small and friendly guild where I can get to know everyone and build a great relationship with everyone.

I am a PvE player and I am based on the Ehmry Bay server.

I’m lonely running around the place by myself. I miss the chatter of guild members and making new friends. Like today, I was running around Queensdale killing the champions etc by myself, watching with longing at the groups of players in guilds also on the Queensdale train. Yet I stood, aloof and alone. The silent warrior, or, you could call me Nigel no friends… but that would be… cruel…true.. but cruel….

Surely, someone out there has a guild for me?

If it is that I need to change server, I can consider that. Nothing is really holding me to Ehmry Bay… my guild is gone, some people have moved to different servers, others, don’t log on or have deleted me… sigh

I feel like that lonely lil pet at the pet store that no one wants I have a lot to offer I promise!

As above, I am looking for a PvE guild that also has an active interest in dungeons, world events and fractals.

I am from Adelaide, Australia (+9.30 GMT) so an Australian based guild would be best but any guild active in my time is fine.

I cannot play as much as I used to (I have a little bundle in my arms and am typing one handed right now lol), so looking for an understanding guild that will still be welcoming and include me when I am online. I do not want to be in a guild and feel like I am an outsider.

I have some fractal experience and dungeon experience but am rusty after being away from the game for 6 months. I’ve completed the maps once and have a few dungeon ready alts. I used to run a small guild but of course that fell apart when I stopped playing. A group of us got quite good at dungeons and fractals and I hope to find that again.

For now, you will find me running around the maps and chasing world events and after joining a guild hopefully I can get back to working on dungeon master title and running fractals with a friendly group of people

Unfortunately I’ve been not playing so much lately due to illness but I am back now!

Our guild is still alive and we are still looking for some great down to earth players to join us!

I possibly would of completed all the achievements until I came across this WvW experience and now I won’t be doing them all. I play this game for enjoyment, not to be frustrated so if something frustrates me I won’t do it anymore.

Too bad for me that I will not be completing all the achievements now.

My point is, if I DO want to complete all the achievements, I shouldn’t be subjected to player v player content to complete it, if I am not inclined to liking the player v player content.

I just spent a good deal of time trying to do the Obsidian Sanctum jumping puzzle for one of the caches. It was going well, enemies helping enemies.

Suddenly after negotiating the pitch black and jumping amongst the enemy someone started attacking me. I was in a most vulnerable position, jumping on stones jutting from a wall and they were on a platform above me at first I had no clue where the attack was coming from as I couldn’t see the platform.

I am a PvE player, I only enter WvW for world map completion and to gain a few badges of honour towards my goal of making a Legendary. I would not enter WvW unless I really had to because I don’t like player v player fighting. I am not experienced with WvW and I don’t care to be either, my interest lays with PvE.

I am not at all happy that the living story took me to WvW to complete an achievement. Why must I spend a good chunk of my playing time completing a jumping puzzle only to get near the end and be killed by the enemy?

Some may say it is part of the challenge and yes it is a challenge, but when I find a challenge becomes a chore it is not enjoyable anymore.

If I want to play WvW then I choose to go there willingly but when I am faced with a list of achievements which I would like to complete and one of the achievements FORCES me to go into WvW to complete, THAT is not an acceptable challenge to me. I am not fond (and I am sure no one else is either) of being killed by other players while trying to complete a jumping puzzle.

I would rather fight NPCs any day. NPCs are not vindictive, mean or opportunistic.

Don’t make players go to WvW for the living story again please. There are always going to be players who will take the opportunity to kill others and they have no respect or consideration of how long it took the player to get to where they were before killing them. They don’t care how much time and effort it takes, they only care about laughing at the unwary and taking whatever reward they can get from that extra kill.

I was going to post about my guild but since Visear has already posted about his guild and we are friends, I’d rather not step on my friend’s chance to find a new guild friend.

Hey there Booler. We have an oceanic guild called Blood Raven Nightingales.

Our guild is small, about 40 ppl on the roster, perhaps about 10ish players on weeknights my time (GMT +9.30) and many more on the weekends. We are not a hard core dungeon/fractals guild but we do like running dungeons/fractals.

We are a mix of new and experienced PvE orientated players. A lot of players are interested in dungeons/fractals but have yet to experience them, we have some who are not as keen to run them and then there are also those of us who love dungeons and want to run them every night, we sometimes have to find others outside the guild to run with us if we can’t inspire enough interest within the guild.

If you are not looking for a hard core or completely dungeon centred guild, you may find our guild is a good balance between the two. I would like to see more experienced dungeon runners join our ranks but I also want those experienced people to be patient and kind to those who don’t have as much experience as them.

I have just logged out of the game for the evening, so I hope posting to you here will be ok.

We have a small and friendly guild on Ehmry Bay called Blood Raven Nightingales [BRNG]. We are an oceanic based guild, I am one of the leaders and my time zone is GMT +9.30 so we are pretty close in times and in my evenings and weekends, the most players in the guild are on but we also have some members from the US so they log in at other times.

Our guild is not huge, approx. 40 ppl on the roster with about three quarters of those active most nights/weekends. Our vision was not never be a huge guild, we wanted it small, relaxed, fun and a good place to be while playing the game.

We are a PvE based guild, we run dungeons and fractals as often as we can.

It is very difficult to create a guild and keep it going when the game has so many guilds for people to choose from. I have a small guild, started it from scratch and it is humming along nicely at around 40 players, which is where we wanted it to be.

We didn’t want to set rules about mandatory representing, so we just ask that when a member joins they let me know if they are not intending to rep a lot of the time. If someone joins and then never reps, I give them a few weeks and then I kick them as I don’t want that person in our lists if they don’t even want to spend time getting to know us. That is really want it comes down to, why join a guild and never represent it?

My advice would be to search for new members, look at the recruitment forums on this site, talk to people in the game and invite them, whatever you need to do to invite new players and be specific with them, tell them you would prefer they represent your guild being that you are small all influence you get will help. When you have a consistent group, then you can remove some of the people who never represent. Perhaps email them and tell them you are removing them for inactivity and that they are welcome to re-join but you want them to represent and be an active part of the guild.

It won’t be easy and it will be a slow process but it is worth it, you will find the kind of players you want to be in your guild and you will also slowly remove all those who are not representing and eventually you will have a nice group of players and all the dead wood will be gone.

That is sad what has happened to your guild and group of friends, there is nothing worse than really loving a game and then eventually you feel lost because everyone you knew stopped playing. I know that feeling well, maybe not from this game, but from a different game I played for 9 years. Perhaps our guild might give you a new place to call home?

We have a small guild in Ehmry Bay called Blood Raven Nighingales. My husband and I created it with a friend of mine. My friend stopped playing but we continued, so we decided to expand the guild and invite some players who enjoy PvE as much as we do.

Our vision was to create a group of friends to game with, people we can do some dungeons with or explore the area maps with etc. We have no big plans to expand into a massive guild. We prefer it smaller, we get to know all our members and it is more like a bunch of friends enjoying the game. A lot of the guild members introduce themselves by first name or a game nickname and we like that kind of familiarity.

We are oceanic based, I am from Australia and we have many Australian members, but we also have some members from the US, Singapore and Hong Kong as well. We don’t do dungeon runs every night, we don’t do fractals all the time but most of us do love dungeons and when not levelling alts we like to run them. (I personally would do them every day if I could get enough interest! lol)

We have vent for dungeons but no voice for general guild chat. We also have a forums website, bloodravennighingales.enjjin.com. We use the website to announce events, game discussion and off topic talk as well.

Hi there, Welcome to the recruitment thread of Blood Raven Nightingales [BRNG]

To make this an easier read, I have made this into more of a Questions and Answers type format with questions that I know I would ask if I were joining a guild.

So, here we go…

Do you have any requirements to join?

There are no major requirements, we only ask that you get to know your guild members and represent us when attending guild events. We don’t ask for a certain amount of representation but it is assumed when you join that you want to make an active commitment of getting to know us.

What server do you play on?

The Ehmry Bay server is our home base, we are a North American server.

Do you accept players from other servers?

Yes, of course. For those who do not want to move to our server, we will happily accept you. There are some negatives in being a cross server member, but I am happy to go through this with you while you are considering us, before you join.

What time zones does your guild play in?

We have a few time zones. The leaders are based in Australia so we are run on GMT +9.30 but we have members who play in Pacific and Eastern time zones as well.

Are you a PvP, PvE or WvW guild?

We are mainly PvE based. We have some players who are avid WvW players, but we do not have many guild events in WvW.

How many guild members do you have?

We have 40+ members on the roster at the moment.

How many guild members are active?

On any given night (Australian time) we have 10 or so active members with many more on the weekends. We also have a handful of active members in pacific and eastern times, and obviously we would like to expand that time zone a bit more as well as adding more Australians.

Do you have voice chat?

We have a small Ventrilo server that was created for dungeon runs. We don’t use voice chat on a daily basis and we probably never will. Our guild doesn’t need daily voice chat to stay active and keep chat alive. We enjoy our guild chat banter the way it currently is.

Do you have a website?

Sure do, we pay a modest fee to keep our website which the leaders are happy to accommodate with. It is quite an active website which we encourage all members to join. We announce events via our website, post screenshots, have all kinds of gaming discussions and out of game discussions there. It is quite a fun place to visit actually.

Do you have a ranking system?

Yes we do. We don’t really focus on the ranking system but it is definitely there. When you join our guild you become a Raven. This is a temporary title you are given for a month. After that time you become a Nightingale and from there, depending on how long you have been with us, how active you have been and how much you have participated there is definite chances to be promoted to higher ranks.

Do you allow multi guild memberships?

Of course we love the influence, but influence is not as important as friendship. If you want to be in other guilds, of course that is fine. We only ask that you get to know us and represent us when you can. It is polite to let your guild leaders know if you are with other guilds, we do feel it is at least polite to keep us informed of your intentions when you join us.

What is the average age of your members?

I would say that 98% of our members are adults, well over +18. We have a few students among us and we don’t mind that at all. Regardless if we were all adults we do not encourage bad language or socially unacceptable conversation topics in our guild chat. It would be safe enough for underage players to join us and their parents can relax in knowing they would be well cared for in our guild. The leaders are mature adults.

Will I be kicked from the guild if I don’t play often?

No. The leaders are adults with fulltime jobs and we understand life requires us to be away from the game for all kinds of reasons.

Gear: Full exotic armour (beserker) and weapons – mace, axe, GS and prefer long bow over rifle.
Time: Anytime I am online (week night Australian times 7 – 11 and weekends vary day/night depending on what I am up to) (+9.30GST)
Other:
- team player, polite and respectful, flexible with advice on changing traits, skills and armour stats if what I have isn’t quite suitable
- experienced with other dungeons – TA, CoF and AC mostly
- have access to Ventrilo (although prefer without but will use if it helps to take instruction that way)
- don’t mind skipping mobs or killing all – just ensure you tell me what to expect when skipping while I am learning

Actually there is a bit of a history behind it in as much as my husband and I started playing GW2 and I found out that a real life friend of mine had also started playing. So I thought since we all played, I could create a little guild just for us. I mixed our names into the title, Blood was from my friend’s name – Mistress Blood; Raven came from the fact that both my husband and I chose to have Raven in our player names (coincidental); and Nightingales was because just before playing GW2 I was playing Skyrim and I really had enjoyed the Nightingale quests in that game!

Unfortunately my friend stopped playing and we decided to expand the guild and make some new friends. My friend still has a place in the guild but it is just a shadow of her now, I don’t think she is coming back.

On our guild website, just for fun I created a thread with the intention of having a continuous and living story that our members could contribute to about their adventures in Tyria. So far it hasn’t really taken off (sad for me!), but the short story I wrote is still there. If you are at all interested, I have linked that thread here and have given it public viewing access. Hiya Britz, I have a small guild on Ehmry Bay called the Blood Raven Nightingales. There is still so much you can do, see and learn once you hit level 80 you don’t ever have to be bored in this game! I am from a small and down-to-earth guild named the Blood Raven Nightingales. We are small, our guild count is at 31 but we are very active and a social guild. We love PvE and running dungeons and grouping up for map completion, events and sometimes WvW. A lot of members including myself are from Australia and US with one or two from Singapore and Hong-Kong.

We have a really friendly dynamic and a lot of very motivated and inspiring players. I am so very happy with the guild my husband and I created, we couldn’t have asked for better players to join with us and every day that we play there is a smile on my face. What I seek are a few more genuine down-to-earth players to join in the fun and laughs we have and share some knowledge and gain some knowledge and keep being inspired by this game we enjoy so much.

Oh the guild is nicely humming along. We have some great new members from both sides of the globe! We do not want to expand too much more, so if you are looking for a genuine group of down to earth people who are very active in guild chat and always grouping up for all kinds of adventures you should consider us.

Currently our guild roster sits at 31, a handful at most probably shouldn’t be on the list and will unfortunately go soon but once we hit 50 I think we will be closing our doors. Hi Tharjax. We are a smallish, down to earth group of adults who enjoy PvE. We are situated on the Ehmry Bay server and have no problems with cross server members. The only sad part is that cross server members cannot participate in any WvW events we may hold. However, we have only just started exploring WvW and mainly because a fair few of us want map completion and have a curiosity about how it all works. So you won’t feel left out as if I do post a WvW event I will always post an alternative option as well so we can all participate in other adventures together.

We have what I would call ‘clean’ guild chat. I’ve never really had to lay down a language rule ever, everyone one who joins with us just seems to fit so nicely into the guild that I’ve never really had to list one rule about respecting each other and about bad language in chat. However, just as an official gesture my officers and I are working on some guild guidelines which will be posted soon on our forum website, for as we grow, so too will the need to enforce such guidelines but for now, we are stable and the need to moderate the chat is non existent and we are proud of that (however I do have a good number of moderators in guild chat should an incident arise).

We are very social and guild chat is quite alive and full of chat, anything from the dilemma of what colour dye to choose for our armour to more serious discussions of crafting, map completion, character builds and dungeons. When there are people online, there is usually some kind of friendly banter in the guild chat!

We often group up for unplanned dungeons and spur of the moment world events or map completion activities. We have a small Ventrilo server which we use when in a dungeon. I am looking at perhaps expanding our server to support more people, but for now it serves us well enough.

We are a mix of Australians and US players and not to forget our Singapore member as well! My husband and I run the guild from Australia. We both work fulltime and most of our members work too so we understand about commitments in the real world.

Hi there, our guild is Blood Raven Nightingales situated on the Ehmry Bay server. We are small, friendly and family orientated guild. We are a mix of Australians and US players and currently looking to expand our US members.

We are definitely PvE orientated, a lot of us are concentrating on map completion or levelling other alts at the moment. We often help each other out with difficult sections of maps, personal story quests and events. We group up often for dungeons and we take our time in dungeons and enjoy the experience for what it is rather than rush through them. Always happy to take people through dungeons in story mode, I’ve done Twilight Arbor in story mode countless times with guild members who haven’t been there and there are plenty of others in our guild who are willing to do the same (for all dungeons of course).

Hello Inkie. I’d like to introduce you to our guild called Blood Raven Nightingales, based on the Ehmry Bay server. We are a small group of like minded players who enjoy PvE, dungeons, events and group adventures. We consist of mostly adults and as such we juggle everyday life with our love of gaming.

The guild is run by myself and my husband. We are Australian and most of the guild is oceanic based BUT we do have a couple of members from the US and we see them often and we group up on weekends for events etc. We would love to expand our guild both here and your side of the world.

We have no dreams of grandeur, we want to stay small, preferring to become more of a group of friends rather than a large guild, yet big enough to ensure that the guild is active and living every day.

We have Vent set up for dungeons and also our own forum website. We don’t use voice chat all the time at this stage it is mainly for when we are doing dungeons or small party explorations of the maps.

Hi Winter, before I even begin let me say I love your name choice

We have an oceanic based PvE guild called Blood Raven Nightingales on Ehmry Bay. It is run by me and my husband who live in South Australia. We have some Aussies from NSW plus a small contingent from our Australasian neighbours and also a couple of people from the US.

I will warn you that we are small but, we are active and we are a growing, living guild. We have no interest in becoming big, we prefer the close knit community feel we have already developed but we would like to welcome in more players.

We are looking for down to earth people who are not soully interested in the best gear, the biggest amount of gold/mats and the fastest dungeon runs but people who are enjoying the game in its entirety.

We have Vent for dungeon runs and a guild forum website which my husband and I pay for so it isn’t some annoying add ridden, free website because we believe in giving our members an enjoyable place to share their achievements, interests and anything else they want to post about plus a communication hub to keep us all in contact with up coming events etc.

I know you are on a different server to us but it doesn’t bother us if it doesn’t bother you. If you join with us and stay a while you might even want to change servers but we won’t pressure anyone to do that, it is a personal choice and not enforced. We are people orientated and yes of course the influence would be nice, but friendships gained can be much more rewarding.

Hello Sinphul. We have a small guild on Ehmry Bay called the Blood Raven Nightingales. We are a casual guild made up of oceanic zoned people with a few US folks mixed in. Most members are on Ehmry Bay but we do have a few on other servers and this has not been a problem.

In short we are PvE based but we like dungeon runs and basically helping each other out in game. We have Vent for events/dungeons and we have a separate guild forum website which is quite active and we encourge all members to join to keep in touch for announcements, events and getting to know other members etc.

It seems you already have alot of choice here, but I would really like you to still seriously consider joining us. We are a small guild and we don’t have big dreams of growing huge, but we do want to encourage down to earth, helpful and friendly members to join us and you sound like a perfect fit.

Yes I agree Deathtrap and we want to continue that close knit community feeling even when we grow.

We welcome new members with open arms, you will not find one person in our guild who will ignore you or make you feel unwelcome.

I’ve been in ‘clans’ in other games where they say they are more like a family but when I join, I realise that yes, the current members are like family, but new comers feel left out and with a social awkwardness of feeling new and not included, I would end up leaving.

I do not want anyone who joins us to feel that way and without having to encourage any of our current members, everyone automatically makes new members feel welcome and at ease.

Oh so happy, computer problems are fixed! All thanks to two of our guild members!

Firstly congratulations on hitting level 80!

We have a small guild on the Ehmry Bay server with a mainly oceanic timezone. Our guild name is Blood Raven Nightingales. We have a couple of people from a similar time zone to you plus the Aussie contingent is also in a similar time so you won’t be playing alone on week nights if you join with us.

We share a love for PvE and have started to explore dungeons. We have Ventrilo for dungeon runs and also a forum website for communication with all guild members.

We have a few players on different servers. I would hope to see more people on the Ehmry Bay server but we prefer to create friendships, share events and dungeons and maybe one day have others move over to our server but we will never pressure anyone to do so.

We are quite small, the guild roster says 14 members but there are a couple of alt accounts from current members and a couple of inactive members in the mix at the moment. However, we have about seven of us that are quite active and play weekends and week nights.

Hi there, we are an oceanic based small guild. We are not on your server though, we are based in Ehmry Bay but we have members from other servers and it is not a problem if it doesn’t bother you it doesn’t bother us.

Hiya, we have a small guild on the Ehmry Bay server which we are slowly building up. We have a few couples in our guild, including my husband and myself but of course we have others with us as well. We all share an interest in PvE and have started branching out to dungeons as well.

We have voice chat for dungeons and a website to keep in contact with everyone. Most of us are levelling up various alts and we are at all different levels. Some of our members are on different servers and some from different countries. The main body of our guild are from an oceanic time zone but we still manage to see guild mates online where ever they are from and keep in regular contact.

Our main focus is gathering a small group of down to earth players and creating a friendship with all. We will still be building towards guild challenges etc, it just may take us a little longer than a large guild to get there!

Based on the beautiful panoramic shores of Ehmry Bay, you can find us smashing the Maw or bringing down the Claw of Jormagg, delving into depths of Tyria’s dangerous dungeons, battling through the nightmare land of Orr or even frolicking on the beach as baby quaggans!

Whatever we do, we do as a team with the main goal being to have fun!

We are a small guild of active members who enjoy PvE, dungeons, events etc. We are mostly adult players and we all share a mature and respectful outlook. Our goal is to create a friendly and helpful guild with down to earth members who share a common goal to just relax and enjoy what the game has to offer.

We welcome any level, profession and race. Whether you are new to the game or have been playing since the beginning, we are accepting of all. We just ask that you remain respectful of your guild mates and be patient and understanding to anyone who is new to the game, no mocking or bullying will be accepted by us.

We are based in Ehmry Bay but we currently have members on different servers and this is just fine with us. We are mainly made up of people from an oceanic timezone but are not limited to it. Some understanding that there will be some quiet times while playing may be required until we have a good, balanced mix of active players but we do hope we find some patient people who are willing to work through that with us. The leaders play almost every week night (Australian time) and weekends depending upon social commitments of course.

We have vent for dungeons and a website for guild communication of which the details will be made available upon joining.

The leaders are adults with full time jobs and we fully understand about life committments. We will be happy that when you are online, say hello and if you want to join in any activities we may be organisng at the time then of course you are most welcome to join in but it won’t be a requirement. We are also understanding that people may be in other guilds that are joining us. We are only a small guild, all member influence does make a difference to us but we also understand that you may not want to represent us 100% of the time. All we ask is that you communicate this to us when you join so we understand the circumstances.

We want to create a comfortable, friendly atmosphere for all our guild members, free from retribution from any question you might ask or for any assistance you might need. We are not here to judge you we are here to make friends and help fellow players.

Before the post is done, I just want to quote to you something that was posted on our guild forum very recently and it really does ring true to who we are……

“See, this epitomises what I’m after in a guild in one sense.
I’m after a group of people who can hang out together, help one another with the odd bit of supply, or crafted item, or maybe help getting past a tough encounter for either personal story or map completion, and just enjoy themselves.
So, if we’re having a bad day or we’re not up for working together on any given day – we don’t have to . . . it’s not like you need to show up at certain times and make a certain effort to get guild influence . . . it’s not like we will schedule a dungeon run and expect people to show up, and potentially exclude people for not taking part.
I’m happy for people to represent when they want to, ask for help when/if they need it and hopefully we can all help one another as GW2 changes and develops, through the inevitable expansions.

We have a small guild I thought I would introduce you to. We are a casual guild where no regular events are enforced. We are about friendship and helping each other out, learning about the game together and leaning on guild members when we need help. We have run a few dungeons together but have plenty more yet to explore together as well.

We are mostly adult players, some younger but all of us mature and polite. We would welcome you into our guild if you would like to join us We are always looking for down to earth players who share a common goal of having fun and exploring the world and we think you would fit right in.

We are however on a different server to you, we are situated on Ehmry Bay. We have a couple of members also on different servers and so far this has proven not to be a problem.
