I cannot really comment on that. Personally I wouldn’t agree this is a good suggestion. Sounds like just an attempt to make player feel good but actually not advising something constructive.
I would be way less work for them to have a real option to declare hack, instead of having to figure out if the botting claim is real botting or some hacking report…

I don’t have a problem opening support site and providing proper amount of details if I want hacker to be busted. Whether in-game UI should have this level of sophistication is another issue, I don’t think it should as you will need to attach screenshots/videos by browsing your local disk, and that’s probably not something you want to be in game UI. My point is, there is a way to report hacking properly and if you want the guy to actually get caught, make a little effort will you.

My understanding is that your wexp pool will be simply combined across all toons, then account-wide rank will be calculated based on this combined wxep pool.
If my math is correct and assuming that:
- your toons are at the start of mentioned ranks
- wexp progression and ranking will not be changed
you will end up with following:
Thief R213: (213-4)x5000 + 3×1000 + 2000 = 1050000 wexp
Mesmer (lvl66, crafting alt) R2: 2×1000 = 2000 wexp
Engineer (lvl 24) R1: 1000 wexp
Guardian (lvl44) R1: 1000 wexp
Necromancer (lvl 56, crafting alt) R1: 1000 wexp
Warrior (lvl 29) R5: 3×1000 +2000 + 5000 = 10000 wexp
Total: 1050000+2000+3x1000+10000= 1065000 wexp
Account-wide rank: 4+(1065000-5000)/5000 = 216 – Bronze Raider

How they are “very similar”? Botting has clear patterns to test against and is ongoing process so it is [relatively] easy to catch offender red-handed. Hacking? What do you do as a support if the only information you get is “he’s hacking!”? Do you even understand the scope of such investigation in absence of any information except user tag and time stamp?
Take a look at options available in reporting UI. All of them have specific patterns and ways to check validity of the claim. Well, I can’t really comment about LFG abuse, but few types of it I know fall into same category. Hacking otoh is too broad of a topic to have such simplistic way of reporting. It would be horribly ineffective, resource hog and prone to abuse.

Requires a bit more effort, sure. Like collecting actual evidence. But you don’t want everybody and their dog spamming support with hacking requests on a whim. Many of them are either perception bias or ignorance regarding game mechanics.
Nothing inane about this tactic. What’s wrong is the mechanic of contested itself.
A person knocking on the door shouldn’t make the whole keep “unsafe” for owners. Contested should mean “it is not under your control anymore” and should be triggered by something that represents real danger to ownership. Outer perimeter (gates of walls) being breached for example. Or orange swords inside. Something like that. But not the simple “Hello? Is anybody home?”.
In the new mastery dead players will be sent back to Waypoint after they have been downed.
Are you sure? I thought it’s “after they have been killed”. Sending downed players to spawn is rather radical change to death mechanics.
BTW I’m not sure if this is a good thing to have this mastery. I mean, often in long battles people would lie on the ground for ages hoping to be revived (so they can pick up precious bags scattered around), and therefore being useless. For you as opponent it is a good thing. Because if you was to send them to spawn, you would have chance of them running back and rejoining the fight. One of most frustrating things is having to fight against conveyor of opponents running constantly from spawn.
Being able to clearly and quickly tell dead from alive otoh is a nice thing to have.
I’m really bad at sPvP too. I can’t imagine how sharpening up your 1v1 skills would benefit you in WvW unless your running roaming around looking for 1v1 fights. Which in case, why not go for sPvP instead? Doing that in WvW is usually followed by getting run over by a larger group.
When Phelps is pulling rubber bands 100s of times in a row during workouts he doesn’t ask “why do I need to do this? This is completely different from actually competing in swimming at Olympics!”.
Intensity and your personal skill exposure in sPvP trains your “muscules”. Different game modes may require you to use these “muscles” differently, but being in shape helps regardless of tactical landscape.
You should have made it a poll. And the answer is yes.
sPvP has much more fights/min, is much more personal and you don’t have a fat shield of stat creep/food/bloodlust to carry you around. So the key words are ‘personal practice’. General situation awareness, getting rid of tunnel vision, timing your actions, fight pace based on your CDs, countering opponent actions, thinking constantly about your and opponent’s builds and tactics, predicting their next move – all this plays into you getting better in any other game mode.
Who cares? I think everyone from VII and ST enjoyed the fights and intensity, no matter who won.

Fighting and wars happens inside the game, and there’s in-game narrative that gives reasons to fight (defend what’s ours, conquer what’s theirs).
Abstracting from in-game narrative and talking about people, not characters, it is just a competition, pure and simple. Competition has intrinsic value. Of course it can be boosted by additional incentives, but there’s core self-sufficient value to it that lies in human nature. As long as the process itself is fun and engaging, it will survive without additional boosts. Those who complain should realize that it is the process that stopped to be fun for them.
Good example is GW2 unofficial GvG scene that is surviving and feeling good in absence of ANY extra incentive apart from being able to say “We won against that guild and that was intense as hell”.
So, which one are you talking about? Weakness of in-game narrative or your lack of competition spirit?

i dont play wvw anymore for months now and even i have 1300 badges just from AP Chests – and i always use the 25 when its daily and i buy amulets for twinks with laurel + badges
something like 2500-5000 would be ok when only can wear it in wvw
but when its the normal ascendent gear than just now – it is so much more worth than some badges^^
1000 is nothing. 2500 is too cheap either compared to the effort needed and timegate bumps you have to hop to get asc in PvE.
10k is probably more in the ballpark. But still, you cannot make direct comparisons of efforts between PvE and WvW.
1k badges are a lot. farming 6k for a set is 3-4 months with an intensive (not 24/7 farm) gameplay. and this is just one set for one character.
Problem is, most of dedicated WvWers (those who really need availability of asc on WvW) have humongous amounts of badges already.

What do you mean “not safe”? See that blue icon in boons section on your screenshot? It is called “Determined”. Look it up.
It helps a bit with wiping anything, “I might add”.

Still dont really see that kind of damage being pumped out. Even assuming 250% crit damage (which would be 200% in the stats), that’s 10K non-crit damage in a single attack. I dont know any kind of weapon that can do that even on zero toughness targets.
If my math is correct, in ideal conditions (25might, 25vuln etc) and 250% crit dmg SoW can do even more than 25k against targets with 3200 armor.
Did you actually check the combat log?
Scepter doing 25K damage seems quite extreme, especially in WvW
It was probably focus AoE rather than scepter one, boosted by dmg modifiers (~25-30%), vulnerability stacking and dps gear. 25k tick from scepter 2 is not believable.
Hard to tell anyway without any screens/video. One of best ways to deconstruct a fight is having it recorded. Use ShadowPlay people, it is no-brainer to setup pre-recording if you use nVIDIA GPU.

When Mesmer uses stealth all illusions should also stealth and stop attacking. Every damage done from stealth (either mesmer or illusions) should trigger revealed.
Same changes should apply to Thief + Thiefs Guild and Engineers + Turrets.
Following this logic, all conditions also should stop ticking while the source is in stealth. Because illusions are no more than killable conditions. Unlike pets where owner has control over their actions and can change their target.
Unless they are back on an NA server, they aren’t really ‘back’ for the purposes of this forum. EU is EU.

Jumped down from the top so I’m now at the end of lvl one but the exit is blocked by event I obviously have no chance to complete since I’m on the other side.
UPD: Managed to climb over vines but the second block in the middle of lvl 1 seem to be impenetrable.
I don’t have much air left… x_x

So I was disconnected while I was in Central chamber moments after killing hybrid. When I loaded game again after patch downloaded and installed, I was in chamber again and there was an additional dialog available with NPC but nothing seemingly more to do there, so I got out and now I cannot WP to the entrance (see attached).
How do I get out except walking all the path back to the entrance?
I hobbled together a video of some of yesterday evenings battles. Why do I always think “Hm, I should have recorded that” a minute after a 5 minute battle? Curse these tiny SSDs!

I already use Shadowplay, but turned it to full manual. Writing and rewriting 10+ hours of video in the same area on the SSD, day in and day out? Uhm… No thanks.
I have second hard drive for that. It is also to store tons of useless stuff that is piling up naturally on your computer over time. Games I play actively get moved to SSD ofc.
Also most modern SSDs have logic built-in that prevents heavy reuse of same cells.

I stand corrected then. It just seemed wholly odd to me because I’ve never seen such a disparity in the time that I’ve been playing this week.
If this is a natural anomaly then I guess that’s fine. It’s obvious that somehow the tables have turned since I got back from work and we now hold a lead in ppt (not in total points) as well. Hope the best wins in any case.
And even if it was true, it is perfectly fine within the frame of game mode. Just imagine you’d have three-way boxing matches. Would you complain that one boxer took advantage of two other going at it, or you’d be like “WTH why 3-way in the first place???”
The point is, 3-way assumes 2v1. Either coincidental, natural, opportunistic or deliberate.
If you are against 2v1, you should be against not how people are playing 3-way matchups, but setup itself.

Whats the thing against french servers here? We are suppose to play with each other because they are french and should still be in alliance even when many of the posts here from SFR are full of hatred, demeaning and meant to insult others. Look at that statement and please tell me exactly what you mean by “handed victory to the 2 french servers?”. What is the basis here for working against those 2 servers? Being french? I do not understand that and hope none of Piken will ever understand what it means. We are suppose to be above them because we are international or maybe we are not french is the best reason you have to explain this statement. You have to show a better side of yourselves to be not focused by 2 servers rather than being all powerful and throwing crap at other servers whenever you win in terms of PPT which is just coverage wars.

Aww stop it. There’s nothing complicated in explaining your view on double-teaming being wrong. You don’t need a week of whole server showcasing that while thinking to themselves “We are doing really wrong thing but that’s only to bring the point across so we are good, we are OK”. I have to disagree. I still get horrendous skill lag. It’s not AS BAD as it was a few weeks ago, but where before I was gettin 2-3 FPS, I’m now getting 4-5. If this is the “fix” to lag, I’m unimpressed.
So you basically have your fps doubled by patch and still complain? Jeez those people…

My view is that time should be put into getting better and that getting better should be what wins you fights. Not stat bonuses where the “time” put in could realistically be a bot following a blob.
That’s one view, but why exactly in this computer game time put into it should be inferior to innate skill? What’s the goal of WvW in your view? To be some kind of esports that clearly favors skill over determination? We have sPvP that covers that. WvW is a different beast. It is like large society that has place for everyone and every play style. The idea is to have an environment suited for massive amounts of players so it should be attractive to massive variations of play styles. Least effort route is probably preferable so why it shouldn’t favor that?
From what I see, the people defending these stupid mechanics are the same people roaming with cheap builds, trying to gank people and then running to avoid losing their valuable stacks whenever the fight begins to swing in the other direction. Honorable. Esports
Esports honorable? Really? The higher competition gets the more prevalent is idea of using anything that is [barely] not against the rules set for competition. Every highly competitive activity is antagonistic to the “honor” idea where you set some social rules and do not cross them no matter what. That’s just two different and conflicting models. Honorable person in highly-competitive activity is by definition a scrub.

Didn’t read the whole thread, but to answer OP – it indeed is insane advantage and game changer for solo/small scale. New players however will most probably be joining trains/zergs/raids where on a personal level it is much less of a problem. Eventually they will get there with one buff. And if they will stick for long enough – with second one. But as part of a zerg it is not even noticeable. You are riding the wave, if it dies it dies, if it rocks – the only thing you need to do is not to fall behind. Which is just a natter of discipline, not some wvw buffs.
So are there significant improvements in the skill lag after last release? I’ve distanced myself from the game lately so that’s the honest question, not a troll bait. Don’t keep up really with how things are on WvW atm.
