I managed to get 2 done last night by sheer luck but what burns me is there was NO notification about this event that I could find? Nothing on the front log in page-no mail. Someone said “patch notes” I come here and check patch notes-I don’t see this event mentioned.The only reason I found out about it was because a Guildy found it on dulfy… Are we supposed to keep trawling gaming sites to find out our game is having an event?

I bought gems last week-no tax. This week I bought another $20-$1.25 in tax. I should thank them-gonna save me a ton of money because I’m not buying gems anymore. I refuse to pay sales tax on a non tangible item that didn’t have to be shipped anywhere, that’s just bs. I guess I better make my 3k gems last but at least that stops my ridiculous key addiction. I’m on the East Coast of USA by the way. I must have spent over $500 in the gem store minimum. Thanks for the tax update Anet-you just lost a good gem store customer.

I JUST did shatterer on an organized map-got the Smash the Dragon achieve AND No Fly Zone achieve and got NO chest. The chest icon was there but no chest physically for me and if that branded backpiece was the reward then I’ve been cheated out of it-my achievement panel shows achieve done so I have no chance of getting that backpiece now.

My auto loot settings vanish every log in- Guild Bounty is also bugged. Brekabrekk couldn’t be talked to, and was in a different position on every guild members screen. Its a complete cluster with these stupid festivals and its not like any new content was added-its the same coding from last year so why is it breaking everything?

Ty all for your great responses! @ behellagh-honestly I don’t want to unlock everything yesterday. The grinding nightmare comes in if I want to have the satisfaction of FINISHING Tyria mastery. The only way to get the points to put on the mastery is to either grind story over and over doing all the achieves or grind drytop (I had forgotten that one!) to make a bunch of weapons I don’t want-all for one mastery point. This is what I’m disappointed with-being FORCED to grind if I want to complete the Tyria Mastery. Surely there could have been a more fun way to get these last points needed for last tier. I have enjoyed playing HoT slowly as we waited so long for this expansion, I’m not one of the ones that had 123 mastery points by day 2 lol. I’m hoping Anet listens and adds new content that will give mastery points in addition to rewards-I have no problem getting the last tier of points over the next year, but what I’m not going to do is make myself miserable with endless grinding of story achieves or the despicable dry top.

@ Roundabout-and by default Joshua :O) -ty for your reply! I have completely done each chapter of the story on one of my main toons and loved it. However, any mastery points I can get now mean I have to do the 9 achieves for EACH chapter, grinding each chapter over and over-I just can’t face it. I tried with the lum armor and got half the pieces but it got so aggravating I lost my will to live and quit the achieves. The idea of doing another 10 chapters with 9 achieves a piece is depressing…
When you say “different stories” do you mean doing each complete story with a different class (race) each time? And If so-do I get mastery points if say, I do the story all over again with an Asuran? I completed the story with a Sylvari so far.

Let me be the first to say I love HoT mastery! It’s fun and totally not grindy. I wish I could say the same for Tyria. I have 9 level 80’s and am on the last tier of Tyria mastery and have run out of points. The only way I can get any more is to grind every story achieve which means doing each chapter more than 9 times over, spend 100’s of gold on cultural I don’t want or be forced into fractals, which only give a few points anyways.
Even though I have 100% map complete on 2 out of 9 level 80 toons , I wouldn’t mind mapping with toons that need it for points, or redoing jps or dungeons or at least something a bit more fun than endlessly redoing story chapters or spending a ton of gold on armor I don’t want. I thought anet wanted to take the grind OUT of the game-not put it back in with spades.
Disappointing and the end of my Tyria Mastery for now :O(

Same here. Completed VB yesterday no reward. I have 100% complete mapping in Tyria.

My guild has 52 active members and yet its still next to impossible to get more than 10 to show up for any type of event we try. We couldn’t manage a full Bounty with only 7 of us. I’m hoping we don’t get crushed by this Guild Hall thing.
@Colinjohanson. So as a smaller Guild with 10 players or less online at any one time-you’re saying I may have to BEG on mapchat for another Guild to drop everything and help mine? Or rely on the kindness of strangers in LA to give up THEIR time to help my Guild? That’s….awesome….. I hope you guys at LEAST make it a 5 person minimum-please!

On a 4 gold plus 50 ecto pick be very aware that you are paying 24 gold each time kitten ecto is about 20 gold on the tp

I’m hoping Anet takes some of this on board-the RNG system for outliers like me on the 1 end just sucks royally-and its not changing after 2 years, in fact I’d say its getting worse.
Are there ANY plans to address this at all does anyone know? From what I’ve read on other threads it seems OTHER games have some counter measures in place.

This is an excellent thread and one that needs more attention. Being on the super unlucky ALWAYS end of this RNG bellcurve I’m almost, after 2 years, at the point of seriously thinking about trying another game. I grind my backside off-4000 hours and I get no good drops-not even the mini at Teq after over 700 attempts (lets not even discuss the ascended weapons chests) and virtually no exotics. Some of us are sick and tired of sucking up ALL the bad RNG while others are pulling 2 precursors at SW in a week and 3 ascended chests in 20 days at Teq. And YES-I know these people personally…..

Aidan-its real easy for you to say “Further, outliers signify a working RNG system. If there werent outliers, there’d be something wrong.” when you AREN’T one of those that gets shafted by this system on a daily basis. This system NEEDS a serious revisit-it’s arbitrary and unfair in its present format.

Ty for that link cara-very good thread! I too am in the unfortunately cursed end of the spectrum and after two years its getting so I don’t even WANT to go to Teq any more. This bad end of the spectrum is denting me to the point where if I wasn’t a Guild leader I would go off and find another game to play. I certainly don’t have ANy hope of ever getting a precursor let alone the Teq mini. To the poster that said “just buy it on the TP” thats not the point……
Amazing how you can be subject to “diminished returns” yet that doesn’t seem to apply to “increased chance of a reward” after 2 solid years of grinding. VERY disappointed in this system.

Yes Anyandrell-I also feel that the more MF I have the less I get. I’m just tired of some players pulling ascended chest after chest from Teq-2 Zaps in a week from SW while others of us who put in MORE time get absolutely zero.

This RNG systems totally blows for some of us. I have over 4k hours, 195% mf base rate and have done Teq for 2 years daily-never so much as a mini. Thats over 750 Teqs….Yet I have guild mates that are getting 3 ascended chests in 23 days with MF under 100 that play less than a handful of hours a week. Now I KNOW that MF does NOT affect chests but it seems that RNG is totally out of whack all across the board. I put in over 6 hours a day at SW and I could count the exotic drops I get in a 2 week period on less than one hand. Others get 3 or 4 per run. Carapace coat box? Took me 24 SUCCESSFUL VW’s and others were getting it EVERY vine and were convinced it was an automatic for a VW win. Anet-do SOMETHING to level out this system please!!!!

Couldn’t find a suggestions link so I am posting this here. In LOTRO there was a Guild Mail option when you send a mail. You could check a box at the bottom of the mail screen and a copy would be sent to every Guild member. As a lot of Guild members don’t look at the roster screen on log in, this means sometimes important announcements fall by the wayside. A mail cannot be sent to more than 5 or 6 members before the chat suppression software kicks in. A great point to note was the work around bug fix for this last update concerning Guild chat. Despite posting it on the message of the day, I still had to whisper almost every member on log in, reassure them that they were indeed still in a Guild and type out the work around fix to each individually. I could have cc’d a single mail to every Guild member if we had this option.

I have found it happens with guild chat-you get the message “You are not in a Guild”. As a Guild Leader this is problematic however, mapchat informed me of a temporary fix. Go to your contacts panel. mark yourself INVISIBLE and close panel. Re open panel-mark yourself ONLINE and close out panel. This fixes the issue for the toon you are logged in on. If you switch toons, rinse and repeat for each swap.

We should be able to buy a digital download no? Or will we have to buy a physical disc copy?

I’m with all of those that despise any form of PVP. However I managed to get 2 map completes. I did this by popping over frequently and getting what I could on my own. Ask around to find out which of your friends knows any WvW beasts. I called on my friends in PAIN to escort me to get the last ones which it seems, WvWers are always happy to have an excuse to juggernaut through some enemies. Getting WvW complete was despicable-but if I can do it…I have faith YOU can-keep at it!

I would think adding a “complete a dungeon run” would also be encouraging members to try an aspect of the game they might not have-no? And we USED to have a crafting daily, no one is being encouraged to try crafting anymore. I’m not asking for completely different options, just maybe rotate some of the old options that are still appropriate for the aim anet wants to achieve.

I understand what you all are saying but here’s the thing. I have NEVER liked player killing in any form and when I bought this game it was marketed as a PVE game. Some of us only care to PVE and for players like me, the dailies have been whittled away till we get to this-4 lame choices and often a double up with the Fractals. I really don’t want to be herded into WvW or PVP because it makes me miserable, which negates the reason I bought this game-to have fun doing what I like to do, which is PVE.
They took away monthlies and we’re left with…4 events in metrica, go hit 4 ore rocks in Diessa and 2 Fractals.

And another note on RNG and cursed players. 18 months doing TEQ daily and never so much as a mini. Knee deep in runes of the useless and spoons ofc. Yet I take a guildy who just hit level 80 with very low MF and they get the ascended drop. Another guildy turns up for her 4th teq 8 mins into the fight and gets the ascended. Totally sick of this RNG nonsense. See above-applies to some players like me on EVERYTHING that requires RNG

Rng is bs….took me 24 successful Vinewraith’s to get the last coat box while others were telling me it was automatic on a win as they were getting them every time. I have 148% MF at a base rate so it’s not like my MF is super low. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!!

Personally I’m not sure if what you’re experiencing (and me too lately) isn’t a combination of indeed, a lack of need to be there as most have the lum armor by now AND the fact that it WAS School vacation over much of the Country. I may be wrong but in my experience mapchat in general gets a lot more nasty with the influx of less mature players during school breaks. That’s NOT to say we don’t have some immature adult players of course, it just feels like it’s exacerbated during these times.

While well intentioned the change in dailies is a complete mess. First point of contention-events daily on low level maps.
While I understand that we, as level 80’s get scaled back-our exotics and legendary’s do not. Add to that a level 1-15 map full of level 80’s wanting to get dailys done fast. The net result is a horde of level 80’s just completely demolishing an event in mere seconds, one and 2 shotting every NPC from range with legendary longbows. Not content with TAGGING an event to get credit, they destroy it so fast that others don’t have time to get there and tag. Oftentimes, doing an event daily on a low level map can take up to a very long and frustrating hour.
2nd bone of contention-Fractals as a daily and oftentimes a double dose of it. Like today-fractals are HALF of the daily. Now some of us HATE fractals and do NOT want to spend 2 hours in a Fractal. Dungeon runs as a daily are completely ignored, so are kill X amount of champs or veterans. With the higher health of these larger bosses, it makes it easier for more people to tag yet these options, along with crafting as a daily, are completely ignored. I have gone from doing dailies every day to sighing in frustration when dailies like todays include 4 events on a low level map and TWO fractal choices.
Please either add a bigger choice for dailies or at least re evaluate the very limited choices available now.

I am also having huge problems and getting ganked out of the 4th chest. I do all 3 battery phases and get gold, gold and silver if not 3 golds. I also get in the zerg for burn phase-Yet 8 times out of 10 I only get 3 chests. I WAS doing on my Mesmer-took my condition ranger and same thing-tired of getting ripped off at Teq. Seems to be that only warriors should do teq-most unfair to med and light armor wearers.

I am a leader of a 70 member Guild. We manage to get about 12 to 15 players on at any one time. There is NO way that we can not only find but kill TWO Bounty’s in 15 mins! Our guild is based on a bonded community-NOT a huge roster full of bodies that amount to nothing more than a number. I feel our guild embodies the true spirit of GW2 and as such we are in effect punished by not being able to do the FUN stuff like Guild treks as we cannot possibly earn merits through Bounties. Not only that but having to re party on the Bounty map to taxi each other in due to the meta server wastes precious minutes we already don’t have. The Bounties should be scaled to roster size. We shouldn’t HAVE to ally with another guild, making our roster bloated with non repping ally’s. Very disappointed in having to miss out on Guild bonding experiences :O(

@darksilklips I actually JUST got the Razer Blade Pro and this started happening but with all the other reports of this I don’t think its a razer synapse issue.

disconnected 12 times in 2 hours last night with disconnect error code 7:11:3:191:101. Logged on just now and didn’t even get to load in without being booted for the same code. I got a new router LAST time it was this bad which was about 8 months ago. This is a brand new razer blade laptop with virtually NOTHING loaded on it yet except gw2 so its NOT interfering software and its NOT my router. If there is packet loss there seems to be an awful lot of people posting the same so I don’t buy that answer. Sent in a ticket last night have yet to hear back.

AVOID THE GROVE! This happens across ALL of your characters once one of them visits the Grove. I would also avoid (for now) for good measure the other starter home Cities that are within the meta server sphere. This is a HUGE problem! I can only mail people-very frustrating!

Its been pinned down to happening when you visit the Grove. There’s another thread going about it now titled CHAT. It seems once you visit the Grove you cannot chat in any medium. Players you try to whisper show as offline. You CAN send in game mail but thats it.

Same-none of my toons can now communicate. as I am a guild leader this is a problem

I bought it with gems because I loved the look-I think it’s outrageous if I don’t get to keep what I paid for. If Anet released it for purchase why should I get less than what I legitimately paid for? They should honor any purchases and redesign for the store. Its not like hundreds of thousands of these outfits are out there-I don’t see anyone else in LA wearing it.
