White text on a black background is bad for the eyesight — that is a scientific fact.
I was about too challenge this claim until I found this.
Apparently, there has been extensive research in this area, but there’s no singular color combination that works in all cases for all people.

Full berserker staff elementalist/tempest is my main for PvE. It’s glassy, but you’ll obliterate most things in the PvE world before they can kill you. AoE aplenty, water attunement for healing yourself and others, conjured weapons and elementals… What’s not to love?
Dragon’s Stand already uses an instanced approach
As it stands now, DS is a map like any other on the megaserver, so it is not instanced in the way that a raid or dungeon is instanced.
and it’s annoying to even get into the same map as your friends sometimes.
A problem that would be eliminated if the HoT metas were raids, which was my original point.
HoT metas could have been awesome instanced raids. They just are not appealing/approachable as open world maps.
tl;dr The reason there was a massive drop in revenue was the lack of content, not the gem store or that they didn’t follow the expansion model.
100% agree. The long content drought really hurt this game in the long run. I left for a time, too. I would not have come back at all, but I have an unusual and ‘special’ connection with this game – I actually met my wife here!
I can only hope that the recent influx of content (and perhaps another expansion?) is sustainable. Otherwise, people will loose interest yet again. GW2 might be able to come back from a bad year, but two? According to the analysis presented in this thread, ANET really needs to continue their current course of content updates for the foreseeable future.
Imagine how WvW and PvP players must feel if they want the skin but are forced to play PvE.
PvP shouldn’t even be in the game at all, to be honest. It will never compete as a bona fide Esport they way other MMOs have. Sorry guys, but the real pros don’t play GW2 PvP. It has created balance issues since day 1 and I would love to see it removed from GW2 entirely.
More on topic, yes I agree with you, OP. I have Bolt and I am not in any hurry to chase another legendary with the current PvP requirements.
Do we really need to have the world completion part of making a Legendary face role easy?
Because of the HUGE mat/gold expenditure involved, unlocking all the waypoints account wide would hardly put a dent in bringing someone closer to acquiring their legendary. It would be purely a QOL upgrade and more than welcomed for the veterans who have their legendary(s) and are ‘retired’ from the chase.
I would love to see this implemented! Hell, I would pay cash money to unlock all the waypoints account wide. It would certainly encourage me to dust off my alts a lot more often.
Toughness means nothing in endgame content, but it should. Dodge or die mechanics are so pervasive in this game that every encounter boils down to killing things as quickly as possible before you’re dead.
Teleport to Friend
Oh yes! I was overjoyed when this mechanic was introduced into the game. My fiance is a jumping puzzle master (kinda scary, actually) and she’s helped me out too many times to count. I’m horrible at them…
I start getting antsy past 2 hours with most sedentary activities anyway, gaming included. Just naturally hyper, I guess…
My fiancé and I met in GW2! We’ve been together for 3 years now, and although it has been rough for us in so many ways, we are now both in graduate school getting our PhDs. For us, this game opened a door to a life (and love) we’ve only dreamed about.
Now we’re living the dream…
From my heart, bountiful thanks to you, ANET!

I’m not a computer scientist, but I’m just curious about something. Do you have to be physically present at the servers to do the rollback, or can a lot of this work be done remotely (from home, for example). I suppose it would depend on the specific problem. I’m just picturing people running about feverishly in the server room(s), trying to get things in order. Anyone wish to comment?
it is the worst thing that happened to me in weeks
Wish I had your life then, bro…
I wish we could trade, life is very boring as a millionaire
While I appreciate the offer, I wouldn’t wish my life on anyone… Trust me on this…

HoT is not only missing dungeons, but about 20 additional maps, more armor sets, etc. We did pay $50-$60, which is the price of the base game, and we all know the wealth of content that exists in vanilla GW2. I’m all for more dungeons and a AAA title’s worth of content…
Every video game expansion offers only one main zone and supplementary areas for the same price as the base game has been that way for years.
Really?
This is a standard ANET expansion.
It’s easy to see for yourself that the amount of content in HoT is laughable compared to Eye Of The North, dungeons notwithstanding…

I think playing through the personal stories of all the races is an essential feature of the game. That being said, Charr are impossible to clothe. They are large, hunched and have a substantial tail. Anything I put on them looks awful, which is disappointing for a game so heavily rooted in chasing skins.
The same can be said for the Asura. Their compact, little bodies don’t carry most skins and armors well at all.
This is a big reason why I main human characters exclusively…
We each have our theories about why ANET had a bad quarterly report recently. For me, this game started down the wrong path with the introduction of Fractals and the Ascended gear grind. The philosophy of tiered progression and all of its trappings went against the flavor of the original game that was marketed to everyone before launch.
Blame HoT all you want. This game has been circling the drain long before that, believe me.

This thread makes no sense. I just checked spidy and ecto prices have been pretty stable overall for more than a year.
You know, guys… If you have to ask whether or not magic find is “useful”, then is probably isn’t… Can we close this thread now? You’re welcome…
Cya in eso till then
I think that says a lot more than you realize, OP… Have fun…
My issue with HoT comes down to its price. When I drop $50US on a video game, I expect a full game’s worth of content. 4 meta-based maps and 1 new profession is not an expansion… Certainly not one that’s worth the current sticker price…
How about a way to turn off everyone else’s effects and only display your own and your party members? Problem solved and no visual nerfs needed…
For PvE, go with a staff elementalist and you won’t regret it…
Yep… The Grove is done busted for me, too…
Same code here… Getting DCed after world bosses.
GIVE US HARD MODE!!!
A magical staff can certainly be used in melee. It’s good enough for Gandalf:
Furthermore, there are ample historical accounts of lightweight pole weapons wielded with one hand. I just wish the game mechanics allowed for it. How awesome that would be!
100‰ yes to making story modes in all dungeons party-optional.
Short answer:
Stale content is the problem, not that we’ve figured out how to do it without passive defenses after doing the exact same fights for going-on 3 years.
An excellent point that I have not yet encountered during these zerker meta discussions. This game is sorely overdue for new content and unique encounters.
I would love to see an armor set or outfit that replicates the look of The Branded!
Just keep reporting the problem as a bug ingame… The excessive messaging thing really needs to be reworked…
“Dungeons” or not, I would like more instanced small group content LIKE dungeons.
The entirety of the game should have been instanced like GW1. The “persistent world” concept promotes the zerging and exacerbates the terrible framerate issues that are getting worse with each content update.
Same situation here, OP. My fiance got the beta key while we were both online this past weekend. I plan to watch her play and enjoy the experience from a non-player perspective. I just love to see her happy and she was thrilled when the key dropped!
5017090If we guess 3k, that’s about 200 a day for each of the two maps across all the shards. If its 1k that’s about 70 a day for each map with all its shards. I can’t see them inviting less than 1000 people so they have to be dropping at least that many.
This assumes that the population of the next beta event will only be players who picked up a key in the Silverwastes/Drytop. Inferring from the extremely low drop rate, an overwhelming majority of playtesters will be drawn from the HoT newsletter with sprinkling of players with magumma beta keys.

This thread and the 100+ like it are hilarious. We currently have 0 to 1 decent PvE builds for each profession. The new trait system cannot possibly be any worse…
This is just another, often repeated, QQ thread. “RNG isn’t fair!” — Yeah well life isn’t fair either. Yet somehow we manage to truck on…. with varying degrees of disgruntlement.
But do we want a game that’s like real life? Do we not play games as a diversion from the travails of our workaday existence?
This thread and others like it regarding the “berserker meta” are really tiresome. What did everyone expect? The dominance of zerkers is no grand revelation. In GW2, the trinity is homogenized into a mixture of self-sufficiency for every class. Given: small player life pools, mediocre heals on long cooldowns, toughness not mitigating heavy damage, and 2 dodges in a very AoE-heavy game. End result: kill things quickly and efficiently before they kill you, i.e. full-time berserker stats on everything 24/7.
Unless ANet plans on a massive rewrite of the game, damage-centric builds will continue to dominate in a non-trinity game.
Please see the thread here:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/RNG-as-a-concept-Discuss/first
The entire RNG system needs a second look. Forget about the precursor scavenger hunt. This game needs a system that tracks the number of failure on loot tables that contain precursors and increases your probabilities with each failure. This same idea can be applied to other rare items like skins, etc.
I would be happy with a reworking of the damage formula with respect to toughness; include damage mitigation multipliers. Critical damage is multiplicative, so why not damage mitigation? I propose a new stat that confers “critical toughness” based on a percent chance to proc upon being struck.
Instantaneous casting of sword skills 2 & 3 PLEASE… Even warrior 100B, one of the heaviest DPS skills in the game, is interrupt-able. Why can’t sword skill 1 for ranger, a much lower dps skill, also be self-interrupted?

Just upscale all the zones to level 80+ by placing “hard mode” in slices of the megaserver. Players can join the hard mode server while in the zone of their choice. Scale the rewards appropriately and problem solved…
This would give the veterans a reason to return to these neglected zones. As it stands now, I only engage in PvE in sub-80 zones for dailies, world bosses, dungeons and literally nothing more. Such a shame that the beauty of these zones cannot be fully appreciated and enjoyed by the vets.
Go flamethrower full-time with the juggernaut trait, assassin’s gear and a strength sigil.
Others may disagree, but MMOs don’t belong on consoles.
Buy going full damage, you are supporting your group. Things die quickly before the group is wiped out.
But there was costumes like that in gw1.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Agent_of_Balthazar
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Grenth_Costume
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/DragonguardI for one am happy my Guardian Norn can wear a cloth based outfit.
Or my Mesmer Charr can wear an Armor Imperial armor set.
Absolutely… This is the beauty of outfits. I love that my Norn guardian can take on the look of a martial artist/monk with the cloth Ancestral outfit. Or that my ele can appear as a fireball-throwing battlemage with the balth outfit.
ANet, you go on and keep making these outfits because I will certainly continue to buy them! They are gorgeous and often look better than armor sets IMHO…
Is it even possible, given the changes that came about in the world?
as (instanced) raid content perhaps? as some people asked for similar content when it comes to large group coordination.
Oh how I wish for this…
I’m really not seeing a problem that needs fixing here…
