amulet – wvw vendors 20 laurels
rings – do fractals, never buy them. do daily fractals for 10 days to obtain whichever ring you want + random ring drops depending on the difficulty
accessories – no choice but to pay the 40 laurels + 50 ectoplasm
back item – craft whichever is the cheapest, depends on materials as people like to play the stock market with the trading post

OR do the achievements for the unique trinkets but be aware its a painful process

in one month you should be able to obtain 45 laurels from daily logins.
so thats 1 accessory,
2 rings (20 days from doing daily fractals)
hopefully have the funds to craft the back item
2nd month – the other accessory
2.5 months later you should be able to obtain the amulet.
done. 1 full set of ascended trinkets

from there just save all your laurels for future purchases

they nerf most places. i remember i used to farm bosses hopping from map to map, doing dungeons, events and so on but anet has a thing for nerfing all kinds of content.

i think its fine. most of the time im doing 3k-4k damage, only think that i dont like about is that it can reveal if you interrupt and a few seconds later you go into stealth.

why? lol do you have 3 monitors connected or are you actually playing gw2 with all 3 monitors?

i was actually playing gw2 on a sli gtx 680 configuration @ 3440×1440 before the gtx 1080 came out and i didnt have any problems.
most common problems with fps are zergs in wvw, over populated cities or some events in HoT due to high population.

Shadowstep
Shadowstep to target area and clear two conditions. Becomes Shadow Return, which returns you to your starting area and clear a condition.

i bet every thief would love this change. doesnt hurt to quote me and up vote

change the “Frame Limiter” to unlimited and check the sync refresh rate/monitor its the last box.

the frame limiter does a poor job at lowering the fps and drops a lot of frames. while the sync refresh rate will not let you pass 60 fps or depending on your monitor (most are 60hz)
at the end of the day, its “almost” the same thing but sync works a lot better.

is simple, i actually discover this on one of my fights and i even played in slow motion.

target blocks, you shadowstep, and when you stab, the stab is blocked.
to answer your question the blind shot can not be reflected and therefore if your target is blocking he/she will still get blind.

i also think vault is too good, but i just been quiet about it.

the skill cost 5 initiative, is multi-target up to 5, evades, does high damage and to top it off with, its a leap.
compared to all the over #5 skills, vault is really something else or more like unbalance

i dont think they should nerf the damage but rebalance the skill. reduce it to 3 targets, increase the init to 6 or take out the evade. having 2 skills with evades in staff is insane, plus it has another skill with blind. im not asking to nerf those but yes, i do get that is the specialization weapon as the trade of and its a 2-handed.

why they should rebalance vault or buff the other #5 skills

• infiltrator’s arrow – it really has no use but to travel or escape. the radius of this skill is so poor. why not increase the radius and make it give a smoke screen when it lands for 1s.
• cloak & dagger – vault, hands down! this skill is a joke, why do you think you dont see anymore d/d, the damage is outstanding, the cost for stealth is too expensive for 3s, and thats it! no, wait. dont forget about the 3% vulnerability, what would we have done without that.. im sure many of us have asked anet to implement “cloaked in shadows” with c&d over the 3% vul but no…
• black powder – so simple but super effective. 2 whole different skills compared to vault. no chance needed here

i wouldn’t worry about it, unless if they super buff healing shouts, and then, and only then they will still have to give up one of their traitline (tactics) for it.

its one of those useless buffs to satisfy them since for a while they got nerf to the ground, like thief.

The waypoints were changed on the 1st June 2016. If you duelled as often as you said you did, or cared about GvG as much as you make out, why has it taken 4 months to see a post like this?

I agree that kill trading shouldn’t happen as having to waypoint and run back is part of the dying punishment throughout the game, along with still having to repair, even though it’s free, you got to find that anvil. That’s the punishment. The old wp’s in OS were way too close together.

i just got back into gw2 when nvidia’s gtx 1080 was released. i was testing out my new card with gw2 when i notice the alphine maps were back. (i stopped playing a couple of months after HoT.) i was lacking information of the removal

i have gone solo (im not in a guild) to OS in the past multiple times but i never see anyone. yesterday, i decided to cry about it in the forums

itll be awesome if the map look more like a war zone battle field.
3 larger plane field in between keeps so when people actually intercept with some of the following.

• small half destroy buildings (for cover)
• quarter health random siege pop up
• small quantities of random supplies found in the battle field
• small oil spills in the battlefield that can slow people down (also, can catch on fire for 5s, respawn in 1min)
• some dead yaks that you can pick up a rotten piece of meat and be thrown at your target inflicting poison and weakness

other features:

• enable golems repair (someone must be on it to enable it and than, they can start a repair for 30 seconds with a CD of 30mins)
• a new type of siege, such as a hot air balloon that can only be use to track allies and foes players within a certain range. can not be attack by players but can only stay in the air for 10mins. must be rebuild at a waypoint with a 30min cd, limited to 3 per server, per map. for 1 player

perhaps a small battle field one in the center for those players who like to dual. must be a cross route or else it wont be use just like the center ruins in the alphine maps because theres all kind of crap there.

simple, you know or just enhance some things (example: golems, havent seen one in forever)

they should just disable all achievements, loot and xp in OS.
make it a official easy accessible place for people to rather around.

Watched half of both videos because I thought you were going to suggest/commentary something else besides staff but I guess not.
This might sound rude even when I’m not trying to be, but you should edit your description. Some people simply don’t care about staff or bouncing dodger. I suck at staff, shortbow and s/d. I always panic and freeze.

Other than that, that was some fine dh butt kicking. Pretty close call but you got it!

they should definitively do a poll of like 20 questions beforehand. thats the only way their going to find out what the majority of players want. i, myself, dont even know what i want.

i haven’t been up-to-dated of when the 10xx series of the mobile gpus will come out but have you look in that? sometimes its worth waiting a couple of months for a fresh gpu.

other than that, $500 is not a bad deal. however, on the long run it might not be a good investment. the lifespan of that gpu could be over in a year or so, depending on your usage, compared to a laptop that might cost $200-300 more but will keep you satisfy for a couple of year in the long run.

hmm HP… i have a negative experience with that brand. they overprice everything.
however, i did look up the laptop and i hope youre not going for it because of the exterior look.

have you ran into the dell 7559 model? if not, check it out.

I’m sure lots of the expert guys, here, will help you. Let’s start with your build, it might just be dusty.

I had this happen to me before. It was a rather simple fix, well at least for me.

1.) Restart your computer. Do not open any programs, let whatever programs you have on startup run.
2.) Use the Disk cleanup, check all boxes, delete everything.
3.) press CTRL + R, enter – % temp % (no space all together) , delete all files in that folder. You will get a prompt to confirm, click yes. Don’t worry it’s safe, some files won’t be deleted because they’re being used by other programs. That’s okay.
4.) go to C:\Windows\Temp and delete all files in that folder. Same thing as above.
5.) restart your computer and see if it fixes it

If that doesn’t fix it then the gpu driver must be crashing at some point. Try rolling back to the previous version of the driver you’re using.

Just to clear the air, it’s not the games fault. If gw2 starts and is running fine but without any warning or error popping up going to the black screen is because the gpu has failed to display the game running. They game itself still thinks is running fine and you can confirm that by opening the Task Manager when the screen goes black.

dude, we all understand your frustration. i even felt the same back before HoT when i was mainly warrior and teefs would run away. if not, they would stealth forever and slowly but surely they would take me out.

since of this summer ive been playing thief because if you cant beat them, you might as well join them. and, let me tell you. boy, oh boy! at first it was a nightmare, i was horrible at it. i would hop back onto my warrior and they would still shut me down. i didnt get it! but with practice ive gotten the hang of it.

however, i dont think stealth is poor nor is one of the worse implementation into the MMO market. i find it unique, well the whole entire game is nothing like the other mmos.

I burst hopping in and out of Stealth so I can reposition, and repeat.

I don’t use Backstab as much since it is a huge liability now, I normally shadowshot from stealth which gives me more pressure relief for when my stealth ends, I enjoy the fast gameplay that D/p allows me.

I will try to get some gameplay footage and upload it this weekend.

for the last 3 weeks I haven’t been playing too much my mouse broke and was using an older back up mouse while I got my naga back from warranty, which I should get in the mail today.

i feel your pain about the mouse. a while back i did had to send back my mamba for a warranty repair, it took about 3-4 weeks

last week, i crafted my first legend and im glad i bought the precursor. i was all excited to know i was going to craft my own precursor until i found out about the things and gold i was still going to spend on it. what a disappointment! well at least for me since i dont have much play time for gw2.

also, how long have you played gw2?
i been playing since released and i didnt know had over 2mil karma, bunch of dungeon tokens, over 1k spirit shards, master 3 or 4 to lvl 500 professions of crafting and etc. so went it came down to it, i just needed the tear 6 materials, other materials and thats pretty much where all the value of the legend comes to.

• Try keeping black powder underneath them and auto attacking them to death when p/w isnt active.
• You can also just interrupt pistol whip, it as a pretty long pre evade window where you can shut it down.
• One other thing is if your going to go in for backstab, and hes casting p/w or you think hes going to… attack from the sides, not directly behind him, as P/W hit area is like a triangle: think of the one of the points of the trangle behind him and the two other points out in front of him. If you end up in that triangle you get cleaved.

before this, i forgot when was the last time i saw the description for piston whip. i didnt know it stunned and instead i always thought it evaded or maybe that was a long time ago. one of the major things i kept doing wrong was getting in front of him and he randomly doing pistol whip. if i would have notice he was running defender runes i would have taken a different approach. I’ll also try to zoom in more because i could hardly tell the animations on asuras. oh well, maybe next time I’ll get him >=D

Maybe I worded my OP badly. My builds are focused more on multi hits for burst. I’ve run staff, p/d, s/d+fist flurry as well; all with great success. I just prefer s/p. I’m very aggressive, until I have to disengage.

anyways, i ran into this s/p thief earlier. it was my first counter vs s/p so i was kind of surprised. im not sure how good he was or what do you guys think about his build. i didnt ask him for his build but i did put most of the pieces together after i review the videos. tbh i feel kind of cheated and annoyed about the build, especially since i wasnt expecting him to be using runes of the defender. ill let you guys be the judge.

so i notice most of the builds here have very high crits. like above the average high lol
not saying its bad but i personality would never go above 80% with fury included. instead, i would invest in power, ferocity or even vitality, less vitality the more fun it is

i modified my build to the armor, weapons and trinkets i have access to. it still has the life steal signature because i feel like it gives it sustains. well at least for me since i still feel kind of new to thief and i do make mistakes. plus it by passes armor and its still consider damage.
