I played all the races to level 30 (racial story achieves) and Charr was my fav storyline. As far as favorite race though, Sylvari wins hands down for their racials and skin colors. Charr is a close second only because I hate the forced all fours running. It reminds me too much of WoW’s Worgens and looks ugly to me.
My list in order of most to least fav:
Sylvari
Charr
Asura
Human
Norn

Nope, I can’t find the note, but I just tried it. Your Guild Bank (even when Guesting) is your home server’s Guild Bank. It was stated in one of the updates, but I can’t find the note at the moment.
Here’s the bit from the Jan 28th patch notes:
While guesting, all guild influence earned will be applied to your home world, and you will only have access to your home world guild benefits, including the guild vault.
But does that mean your guild can have multiple banks on different servers? And maybe access those when guesting in one of those servers?
Yes, your guild can have multiple banks across servers.
No, you cannot access their banks when guesting.

Also, invite The Dreamer wielders to fire off happiness across the sky. xD
I read this and suddenly I understood exactly why legendaries have such “odd” effects. They expected player marriages…
On-topic, I agree with The Grove comment for the wedding host. There are far too few “pretty” places. Reception should be held in Hoelbrak’s Great Hall as this is the main meeting area for most large-scale parties (that I’ve been to anyway).
Honeymoon…I’d say Caledon Forest – Caer Verdant POI, top of the tree tower. It has a great view of the overlooking area and there are no mobs to get aggro’ed and the NPCs are too far down to spy.

I assume by “mats,” you mean materials? Like resources for crafting (Side question: is building up crafting abilities worth it?)
Yes, the various gathering materials. You can also generally sell the “bags” that drop from bandits and other mobs for a decent price on the Trading Post. These would be the “moldy pouch”, “moldy bag” and other items that you open to gain more crafting materials.
Invest in blue/masterwork MF armor/jewels…4 major/2 minor runes are more cost-effective than a full superior set.
Do you think you could expand on this option a bit? How would I profit from this?
Magic Find helps in the open world farming to get better quality items (does not apply to dragon/dungeon chests). The actual effectiveness is heavily debated on the forums but I tend to lean more towards “anything that gets me a chance at better rewards is worthwhile” train of thought.
Talk with your guild leaders about dropping banners for MF, karma and other boosters.
Convert excess karma into 68+ armor/weapons, dump into mystic toilet, sell results on TP.And maybe this one, too? I’m not too familiar with this method.
Thanks for the great advice!
Guilds can drop Magic Find and Karma boosting banners. I think there is a Gold boost banner too…but I don’t remember now.
You can buy L68+ blue or green armor/weapons from the karma vendors in those zones, throw 4 of them into the Mystic Forge in Lion’s Arch and get a chance at a higher quality item and/or one that can be sold for some silver on the Trading Post.

It was stated somewhere earlier by someone from ANet staff…that race changes were either not going to be implemented (at all) or there was a meager chance of it but it was so low on the priority list that it sounded almost like it’d be 2020 before we got it.
I want to say it was a Community Manager or one of the Devs…there was a big thread about it a few weeks ago.

Thanks draakdorei, I’ve looked at the DeathAdder but wrote it off as not having enough buttons. But mapping things the way you’re describing might work. I’m exclusively a PvE player, mostly solo so I wouldn’t have to worry about dragging other players down with my clumsy 2-toon weight.
I’ve never played a warrior before, would a full-signet warrior function similarly to a tank? That would work out well to have it autoattack while my Ranger or Elementalist picks off mobs from a distance.
Here’s a signet build (more survival/tank than normal) for your 2nd box.
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fIAQJAnejkO5u9OGPMxCAkCruyooogOFgSVotUByA
It’s built around axe/shield for the Axe’s 3-hit combo finisher, shield’s defense boost and making the most of your critical hits with the auto-attacks.

-If you don’t have a decent job, or are morally against paying money to a “free to play” game, grind out some gold and buy enough gems for a spare bank slot and perhaps a spare bag slot. You’ll be glad you did, as it’ll open up how much junk you can store up until it’s time to sell it or throw it away.
Adding onto this part…
If you have the spare gold to pay the Guild Rep vendor (2g for 1,000 Rep, 20g for 10,000 rep guy), then I suggest setting up a personal guild for the Vault. It’s cheaper than another bank slot (comes out to something like 1g50s vs the 5-8g in gems for a bank slot)
Drake Rovan – L80 Human Ranger AoE Ranger/Spirit Buffer
Gather at every node you see….sell mats once you go over 250 (this is a personal choice as I like to have mats on-hand for crafting items as they go up in value and for stuff like the crafting Monthly)
Don’t waypoint around a zone to attend to events after level 50. The WP cost starts getting too expensive for a 3m walk to the next area and you could be gathering mats along the way, killing mobs for random drops or finding other events that suit your purposes better.
Invest in blue/masterwork MF armor/jewels…4 major/2 minor runes are more cost-effective than a full superior set.
Talk with your guild leaders about dropping banners for MF, karma and other boosters.
Convert excess karma into 68+ armor/weapons, dump into mystic toilet, sell results on TP.
Some of the above is just personal stuff I do. Effectiveness varies.
Side note: I’m not a dragon event farmer nor do I have a legendary, precursor or the gold needed to even get close to buying one.

Razer has a left-handed mouse
http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-mice/razer-deathadder-left-hand-edition/
With the 5 programmable buttons, I suppose you could have the 1-5 skills mapped to it. Then you would use scroll to autorun, middle mouse to stop. Maybe run it as a full signet warrior so you don’t need to click on 6+ except for healing or make your main hand the healer for both characters.
Maybe put the 2nd keyboard to the left of your left-handed mouse and use the numpad for wasd/qe movement.
It’d be pretty ugly for WvWvW and dungeons…but simple PVE (capture/defend events, heart quests, etc) would be doable.

Relax everybody. It was no flash sale, OP is misinformed. There was no twitter only sale. It is the March sale that is going on this whole month, as advertised on the front page of this site.

Ah my mistake then and apologizes. I just assumed they were talking about the March sale going on every day of this month. I don’t visit their twitter or any social sites, so I didn’t know.
In that case then, I definitely agree that it was wrong of them to do that.
That was my first instinct…just ran a Google search to find the twitter posting.
I agree that Flash sales setup [i]internationally[/s] are a potentially bad idea.
This may have been better received (by both American side and European side who missed it) if there were individual flash sales for both server populations. (American vs European timezones)
I look forward to new sales though, if only for the chance to get something I want.

The daily reset is worldwide (iirc).
It resets at midnight/1am for the GMT European population and mid-evening for PST. If you are planning your days around it, then complete it right after it reset?
I won’t go into the optional/required bit as I see it as a required goal personally, even though I don’t run FotM.

I will give you something to ponder..
Everything is a challenge if you are terrible at the game.
:D
You just blew my mind… It’s time to take my armour off and play in HARDCORE MODE!
Other things to try
1. Use Level 1 gear from 1-80
2. Delete your character if you die and restart it.
3. Sneak your way into the enemy spawn point in WvWvW without using stealth
Drake Rovan – L80 Human Ranger AoE Ranger/Spirit Buffer
And now the new guild missions have arrived. Unfortunately, only the large guilds with tons of members to generate enough income (in influence) can afford to do the unlocks.
Not true at all anymore. The guild missions were tweaked down to 30k influence (from 50k) to make them more accessible to all guilds.
It takes 36k just to unlock Tier 5 anyway so if your guild can’t get to that point, then you would be unlikely to clear the content; especially since some of the content is in the 50+ areas.
And I’m in a small group, only 4 of us generally available for content at the same time (due to time zones/work) and we’re still able to push through to Tier 3 on Poli, Eco and Archi within a reasonable amount of time. We have L1 AoW because guild missions aren’t a priority yet and it’ll be easier, for us, to get everything else to level 5 first.
Drake Rovan – L80 Human Ranger AoE Ranger/Spirit Buffer
@OP, I agree that locking content out based on time constraints (daily, monthly, guild missions) is a poor implementation for new items. However, your situation is in the severe minority (IMO, not based on fact) and while it may take you longer to get the same items, you aren’t locked out of the content entirely.
Work like that is appreciated but in the same extent, I could swing it to the further extreme and say that soldiers deployed overseas who may get 3 hours a month to game (who played prior to deployment) should have the full month’s laurels available for their 3 hours.
There is always going to be some content that someone cannot get to, whether it is by constraints on their own person (your internet limits) or constraints placed on them by others (blocked access to WvWvW POIs/Vistas/JP), as easily as another player. In the case of the former, the dev team may cater to that population but in no way should they ever be expected to cater to that population of players. They have their own limitations too.
TLDR: Your time limitations are of your own making. The dev team might be inclined to work on it but if it fits into their own time limitations; and unless you can prove the majority of players fit this model, it is unlikely to be a high priority.
Drake Rovan – L80 Human Ranger AoE Ranger/Spirit Buffer
on any server.
1.) what made you choose and stay on the server you’re on?(guilds and friends aren’t a valid reason since transfers were free for four months)
2.) what will it take for the wvw players to get you into wvw?
3.) wvw benefits your dungeon runs, do you not agree that helping us get the buffs you benefit from is the right thing to do?
4.)is it the repair bill that scares you out?(i know pve players with upwards of 200g, so the fact that they’re scared of a 10s repair bill is confusing)
5.) why would a risen priestess of milandru be impressed with your Sunrise?
6.) to my GOM bros specifically, some of the PvE guilds on our server are upwards of 300+(and active), can you grasp how much of a difference just 1/10 of your guild members would make if they were active in wvw daily?
k, gripe over.
1. I never partook in any of the server transfers before they became paid (or after) so there was no reason not to stay on FC.
2. Go cap everything from SF and ET
3. Nope, I go into dungeons for the monthly and the occasional guild run
4. Nope, I have gold to spare and my armor is kitten anyway
5. She wouldn’t but then I have no desire to get a goofy Legendary, stats boost or not
6. Not applicable
7. I play Xbox CoD for my PvP desires, I play GW2 for the whack-a-mole mob deaths
Drake Rovan – L80 Human Ranger AoE Ranger/Spirit Buffer
With the addition of guild missions, only doable by guildees representing the specific guilc, without alliances that allow non representing members to get the boons from guild missions,
smallbad guilds WILL die. no matter what. Anet should realize this and hold themselves responsible for killingsmallbad guilds in one fell swoop
Fixed that for you.
Small guilds have already proven they can run the guild missions. There are 6-man guilds running T1s already on my server. They had to put in more effort than a larger guild to unlock bounties, but that’s the con to being in a smaller guild.
Drake Rovan – L80 Human Ranger AoE Ranger/Spirit Buffer
One obvious solution would be to limit the chest reward only to your own servers if that is technically easy to implement.
^This. ANet…just do this.
Alternatively:
1) Scale the dragons up to the amount of players there by HP and Damage. – 100 players = guaranteed wipes for not dodging or 75% minimums
2) Randomly have the dragon spray its spawn area with a high-level AoE (up to 10m before event starts) that forces players to leave or die and WP out
3) Increase level of spawned minions to Veteran or Champion class if X players are in the event. (Normal → Veteran, Veteran → Champion class). Turn off the loot drops for spawns.
Drake Rovan – L80 Human Ranger AoE Ranger/Spirit Buffer
Well, those 500 mb are hard to take. I really hope next time you put some fun content for us, solo players, too.
Everything short of dungeons (and some champions, depending on your build) and sPVP (I guess) can be done solo, without a guild or party… >.>
Drake Rovan – L80 Human Ranger AoE Ranger/Spirit Buffer
I saw it stated elsewhere (and it may be speculation only) but the starting Bounty Hunt missions are on 15 minute timers.
The rest, presumably, would be no longer than 30 minutes. (for those with timers)

“Remember that you can receive that reward once per Mission-type per week, but that’s still nothing to sniff at.”

- You let me re-customize my character, name included, and preferably, history too.
I would love to at least have an add-on (unsupported by Anet directly but recognized as allowed) for RP support.

You can usually just say on map that there is a group event starting and people will flock in from every corner.
This is especially true in Queensdale where the champ troll, champ spider, wasp queen, champ boar and champion treant (forget its name) are short cooldowns.

Yep…
@Blude and others, if you have Ironridge Marches (50-60) setup, teleport to the Sleekfur Encampment Waypoint.
The Charr gunners over there are dead 90% of the time and they may as well be L5 for how well they last against the elementals.
Drake Rovan – L80 Human Ranger AoE Ranger/Spirit Buffer
Warrior (44), Engineer (80) and Ranger (80) were great for me.
Warrior for easy-AoE melee damage and heavy armor.
Engineer for support/healing in dungeons.
Ranger for ranged AoE, distracting champs/bosses with pet and spirits.
I’m still trying the other classes out too but none of my other alts are above Level 8 yet.
Drake Rovan – L80 Human Ranger AoE Ranger/Spirit Buffer
Also to add on, there is a bug when buying new character slots (for Deluxe editions) where the Mistfire Wolf is disabled and Golem banker isn’t mailed. (this happened to me already, got it resolved yesterday)
Support has to manually re-enable and send it.
Drake Rovan – L80 Human Ranger AoE Ranger/Spirit Buffer
Why are HoM animals weaker than normal ones? We worked so hard for our points and the rewards just aren’t rewarding.
Look here:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Black_Widow
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Juvenile_Jungle_Spider
over a 1000 less vitality
and
all the other animalsare weaker too
so i wanna know why and if they’ll change it because i really like the white raven
Black Moa and the Rainbow Jellyfish have the same base attributes as their equivalent forms.
White Raven and the BW Spider are the HoM pets with a lower vitality.
To me, it looks like someone got lazy and just copy-pasted all the attributes (or typoed vitality) down the line for the lower two (Raven/Spider) since they are at the end of the HoM rewards.

I would have 3 friends trying this game tomorrow and hooked next week if there was a trial.
Why would there not be one by default?
Q:Why would there not be one by default?
A: RMT RMT RMT RMT
This could be heavily limited by applying some of the (previous, it’s now F2P instead of P2P) free trial restrictions as Tera to a GW2 trial.
Example:
Free Trial Restrictions
Max level 30
20g limit
Max crafting skill of 100
2 characters per serverChat restrictions:
Map chat (may see but cannot talk)
Whispers (excluding Friends list)Limits to:
Banker. You cannot deposit gold into your bank.
Mail. You may not send parcel messages, but you may receive them.
Friends List. You may not add people to your friends list, but other may add you to their friends list. If someone adds you to their friends list they will show up on your friends list.
Guild. You may not apply to or create a guild, but if invited, you may accept a guild invite.
Trading Post. You may not post items for sale, but you may purchase items.Other restrictions:
No WvWvW or Paid Tournament SPvP.
Free Tournament SPvP available once per day.
No trading.
You may not transfer to another server.

You could also take a look in the Warrior’s forum on here, especially the weapons thread
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/warrior/Warrior-weapons-guide
For PVE: My friend runs a variation on the signet build (full signets, +Prec trait with full exotics +Power/Prec gear) that works well on everything except Champions due to their high health/def. On those mobs though, we usually duo them as I can keep his swiftness/HP up and perform ranged revives as necessary (as an L80 Engineer).
For PVP: I couldn’t really say, we’re both on different servers (started gaming together post-pay transfers) so I don’t know how well his build does in WvWvW.
Drake Rovan – L80 Human Ranger AoE Ranger/Spirit Buffer
You can max out every skill and still have points left over. There is no respec*, so try to tag the skills you want first, then worry about checking out the others later/never.
Once you hit Level 80, you can keep “leveling” (receiving a new skill point but not a new Trait point) forever.
The Legendary class of weapons (as I understand it) requires 200 Skill Points at a minimum to get the materials required to craft it.
Edit: *Sorry, I should’ve specified; there is no skill point respec. The others are correct in that you can respec traits.

What’s the deal with making threads for something that barely happens in GW2?
They can’t ALL be about loot drops… :P
Besides, beggars will inspire more to beg. It’s small now, but it will likely grow.
It’s quite obvious that they are the dragons’ new recruits.
(Story Spoiler Alert/Reference)
Undead beggars will start crawling out of the waters in Claw Island and overwhelming the defending players trying to keep them out of Lion’s Arch. Right now, it’s just the scouting parties hiding in plain sight.

If you’re still suppressed, I’d say go out to gw2lfg.com or use their app to find a group. You can sort by server, dungeon and story/exploration modes.
Otherwise, it’s mostly just standing next to the dungeon entrance and asking anyone next to you in /say if they want to do story mode.
Drake Rovan – L80 Human Ranger AoE Ranger/Spirit Buffer
There are a number of things GW2 could take from GW in terms of this:
- Skill Capturing – Instead of just giving us the skills, make us hunt for them.
Please no.
Elite skill hunting in GW1 was one of the worst features, to me, because you had to sacrifice a skill slot for Capture Signet and sometimes the Elite skill you cap, in normal/non-hunting gameplay, is borderline useless because you didn’t put any points into it (i.e. getting an Elite Prot Prayers skill when you have 0 points in it).
Drake Rovan – L80 Human Ranger AoE Ranger/Spirit Buffer
This is working properly on Champion event mobs…that was the only way I got it done in PvE anyway. As long as everyone hit the mob, it didn’t really matter how it died, everyone was getting credit anyway.
Drake Rovan – L80 Human Ranger AoE Ranger/Spirit Buffer
Receiving the same error as referenced in OP since about Mon/Tues of this week. I had been playing for hours consistently without any errors previously.
I have already tried changing DNS, /port 80 switch, winsock reset and DNS flush.
Rebooting/removing the router, rebooting the modem and changing PCs has made no difference.
Lag spikes up and enemies either die, respawn on top of me or everything fast forwards all at once and then disconnects.
I can deal with the deaths caused by the D/Cs…but resetting the story instances is really becoming an issue when the story instances are battle-heavy and disconnect minutes or seconds before the end.
Further…GW1 does not have this issue…I can play through it without any issues.
