To be fair, it isn’t that big of a deal. At least we won’t be having our arguably most infamous trait nerfed because of it. I’m honestly glad for this change, dodgespam was boring.

I’m glad there’ll be more counterplay to Stealth. Especially when PU will have twice the stealth now as well! Also will be funny to use on Rangers who picked camouflage, unless they removed that trait.

The name ranger have nothing to do with long range on weapons.

I have a feeling Blood Magic will be great in any sort of team pvp setting due to the no bleed outs, might be great in WvW. Then again, we didn’t really need help in WvW.. But it’s nice nonetheless!

I love his Combat Medic, seen him doing it in Hotjoins a few time even as a zerk Teef. So heroic! But yes, it’ll be great fun to use now with the 25% damage reduction as well.

1v1 Thief vs Mesmer was not a hard counter. Only in team play when thief focuses mesmer was it a counter.

The actual counter was never as hard as guardian vs thief or now engi vs thief.

Hahaha, you serious? Teef has always been the Mesmer hard counter provided they’re not condi, and even then it’s nothing major.

While I agree it didn’t need change, Spectral makes no sense for Consume Conditions. There’s nothing spectral about it, it’s obvious it should be a corruption since you’re literally eating the conditions. Imo they should just make it corruption but not add any of this vuln to it. It was already balanced, leave it as it is. Nobody will be master of corruption anyways when it’s up to 2 much better traits.

Anyone else going to try and use it? I myself think Mass Invis will still be the most used choice in pvp, but that signet passive should not be underestimated imo. 20% is nothing to sneeze at, especially when we have the other CC reductions on our Chronomancy minor, food, runes ect to help with the other CC along with more stun reduction.

I don’t see why burning would be bad, it gives us easier access to the most powerful condition in the game and more variety. Also I like the image of a phantasm blasting the enemy causing them to burn

I love they way they’re bringing back fast casting in a way to fit GW2.

I might actually use that poly signet.. and I love how they changed Mimic a second time. Most changed ability in the game xD

I don’t know, but Mesmers, Eles and Engis definitely got the best treatment. Praise Robert!

Guardians have akways been the perfect lovechild of ANet in terms of balancing.

Meanwhile Necromancers, in theme pretty much the polar opposite of Guardians are the redheaded-stepchild.

Robert, the hero Mesmers deserve.

I can already imagine everyone using Twilight in one hand and Sunrise in the other, to be fair, that is kitten as hell.

I don’t think you realize how slow Mesmers are out of combat. Mesmer has been the slowest profession since launch, I think it’s due time they get some movement speed without having to do some gimmick like using bad runes ( Centaur ect ) to get similar speed as other professions.

D/D Ele is your Battlemage/Spellsword. However Mesmer would fit better for Bard.

In general I see Mesmer more as a Mentalist/Trickster/Psionicist though than a Bard.

While I agree that it needs a rework. Don’t compare skills from 2 different Professions. Balance don’t work like that, those professions have a reason to have their shield working that way.

Boon Corruption on auto attack, lol? Boon rip maybe if they make it longer. But corruption is way too powerful.

I thought everyone knew by now. People make these threads just so they have something to complain about, that’s how sad humanity has become.
In general, we complain about everything even if we don’t need to.
Go ahead and nerf an already nerfed skill so it becomes like it was before they buffed it, you guys will just complain afterwards about Signet of Restoration, then Healing Turret and on and on, it’s an endless cycle.

I forgot people don’t know professions are different for a reason, like having higher hp because of no protection, or having stealth because of squishyness.

Guardian. It has been top tier since launch, still is. There’s no better profession to main if you want to do everything than a Guardian.

Even as someone who plays Teef more than Guard.. this is just funny.
You want your 3rd auto attack to have no counter play and then make meditations completely useless. Sure, Guard needs nerfs. But this is not the right way.

Do the guardian have escape skills – NO
Warrior -YES

Do the guardian have hi health pool with a signet that heals better than a virtue (pasive, note the warrior doesn’t use the signet that often) -NO

And here we have a perfect example of someone who doesn’t understand “Balance”
You just compared a virtue to a healing skill.
Guardians have different traits, abilities and damage/healing than a Warrior. You can’t just say “ogm war heal sig dus moar dan muh virtoo”, you should compare what the Guardian have in return for having low hp.

Aka, you should compare the Healing Signet to Signet of Resolve or Shelter, not your profession mechanic, kthxbai.

Yeah it’s pretty obvious they went Mesmer this tournament when Helseth and his team won last one, above poster is right.

Another thing is that Mesmer only works in spvp on high level if they team is adjusted to protecting their mesmer, much like how Necros also need baby sitting.

It’s as they say, Mesmers gets “bug” fixes that cripples the class even more than the already bugged skills before, like what happened to iLeap. Yes, let’s do the same here.
If they removed all bugs on mesmer, all of you would see how bad they actually are atm. Since amusingly most of the bugs are actually positive for the mesmer.

Most of these changes just seem to be stuff that newer players cry about in Hotjoin, I just don’t see even ArenaNet nerfing that for no reason.
