It is a good idea. However in some servers this is already adressed when colors first introduced. Maybe it can be done in your server as well. You don’t need whole www community to implement it.
I thought the current www population algorithm is not based on inactive server population. So I don’t understand what is so important about purging inactives.

I think this change affected PvE oriented players more. If I had several toons parked at node farming places or at the end of LA jumping puzzles to collect silver doublons it would bother me for sure. All I will say, crafting stations at WWW maps were not intended for that use.
Currently there are a lot of complaints about server populations not being balanced. After seeing so many threads about this crafting stations , I started to wonder how much impact this had on www population calculations.
Just the interest in this thread is proof of how actively those crafting stations used. I wonder how much it was affecting the population count. Good job on removing them. Please remove the gathering nodes from towers/keeps as well.

We can talk all we want. We will find out if this poll results were healty and reflecting WwW community’s view when the Desert Borderlands are back. I only wish if the population starts to diminish again, Anet takes fast action instead of waiting for months.
I for one will not set foot to Desert Bl , if it comes back exactly the same way. If they make some real improvements before, then yes I will give it a quick try.
Anyway as for the Deso link – we have low numbers but high activity, play WvW with the same people most days and I suppose it gives the illusion we are over populated. Look at the last 2 weeks, we lost some pug commanders, people got bored of PvD and abit of focus – our PPT nosedives.

Because you desperately want to continue blobing, you choose to ignore the fact that there are currently 3 servers marked full in EU and they all are linked while there are other servers that marked Very High and not linked. It is only reasonable for players to ask the logic behind it and you call them salty. I think it is a legit question.
As for the excuse with few numbers and high activity, the algorithm supposed to include both the numbers and player activity. So get your facts straight.
WwW is not about only you and your blobing friends to have fun. We are all supposed to have fun.
Just remove resources from structures, so we will have a better idea about www population as well. I see some players just gathering nodes from keeps with WP and leave.
The issues you brought up cannot be adressed here. It needs to be discussed at FSP forums and TS.
This behavior even goes as far as to where a guild leadership council decides on the outcome of World vs World matchups and manipulate results with their level of play for Far Shiverpeaks to not gain too much rank or drop too low.
A strong rank would mean more players would select Far Shiverpeaks as their home world, causing blobs and queues where these perceived hardcore players struggle to get onto borders with their guilds for raids.
A weak rank would mean an easy matchup and zero fighting action for these hardcore guilds.
Anyone who voices their dissatisfaction against these few members and hardcore guilds are victimized and threatened with community communication platform banning.
This happens at all servers that have strong guild presence, not just in FSP. I suggest you find people that thinks like you, make a guild and don’t follow their rules
For me, I understand the guilds deceisions. I wodn’t want queues and I don’t care about rank as long as there are enemies to fight.
It would be nice to have match-up threads back in forum though

It is good that they are gone. They should also be removed on PvE maps.
This! Yes. If there is not a title for this maybe there should be one so they can share their achievement if they want. But I am happy that they are removed from WvW , because those badges were really disturbing my eyes.
Now more people will run in wvw maps without being built for, or care for, doing WvW in an organized way. That would actually ruin my WvW experience. I don’t see why a WvW-er would be happy about it.
I was thinking the same, I prefer to play with people who enjoy the game mode and know what they are doing. However if someone is making a legendary they should experience all game modes imo. Reward track is a good idea, maybe bring the vendor 1 more week for the people that already has badges.
I tried the assetsrv thing, it doesn’t work for me. Maybe because I’m not in US?

I’m not from Australia and can’t download the client. As OP says it stops at different percentages and does not continue.
I have the same problem and now I have two chest like that.
I love it
1. it shows most of the wvw players love to ktrain just like the Eotm players.
2. it shows most of the wvw players got no clue how to play without the orange sword, they been playing the easy mode for too long.
1. They are Eotm players for easier karma train.

There are a lot of discussions going on seperate thread which are actually somewhat related.
- If the map caps reduced, will ANET consider reducing Server population cap as well?
- If I remember right they said one of the reasons for recent lag was WWW was pulling resources assigned to PVE and it is decoupled now. How about WWW vs EOTM. Are the using the same resources?
- How is the resources in this map calculated, like normal WWW? Because there are hardly any fights happeneing there, so if there some initial allocations done, may be they can be reduced.
Since there is no server identity at EOTM, why not break the relation to real WWW servers. Just randomly assign colors to players to balance that overflow. Sure you may not be able to play in the same team with your friends, but it might be fun to kill them as well
Well, if map cap is permanently lowered, Anet should consider reducing server population cap as well. WWW is part of calculations I hope.
When as a caster you are at a perfect spot, free casting , full health, and you hear your raid lead calling banner for you.
Why remove a game mode that people enjoy playing? Having said that, current EOTM is not WWW. There you learn almost nothing about WWW, so as some poster suggested it is not a learning place.. It turn into another game mode, much like Cursed shore or FGS champ trains. So there should be no WWW related rewards (www rank gain, badges etc in that map), those rewards should be removed from EOTM imo.
The server resource discussion has a valid point. Maybe ANET can reconsider server assingments.
I don’t play at EOTM much, is there a lag there?
I run a glass cannon power necro at www. We raid with ~25 usually. Before the stability patch I used to trait DP and FitG. Mostly DP , when we were heavily outnumbered or about to make hard push i( for example to well deffended garrison) I switched FitG. I completely stoped using FitG few days after patch because my I stack of stability instantly removed. Having also stun break is not good enough for me to start using it tbh.
It might be different for roaming and pvp ofc.
Leaving a few of my old guilds seemed to fix the problem for me. Not just one, though; I had to leave two. How strange.
I was helping a new recruit to see guild chat and this solved our problem as well. He was trying to type out guild chat and got whisper from one of his other guildies. Looks like his messages were going one of the other guild chats.
Anyways, he had 3 guilds, we were the forth.. I asked him to leave one of his existing guilds and then join ours and it solved problem. However this is not a random issue as someone say above. It needs to be fixed asap imo.

Why would ebg activity be useless?
There are 3 more maps in www and your questions being specific to EB brings into mind that you only play at that map. Players stacking at EB is one of the problems in www.
As for the owning all of EB idea, I simply say LOL.

I personally do not want any Pve related achievements in WWW. The last event introduced daily achievement that requires finding firecrackers at Citadel.. Seriously!
