I don’t understand these forums anymore. Most OP’s are like this all the time now…they are either new players or they aren’t putting any effort into explaining what they are referring to.
You have always been able to whisper until they block you. You have always been able to negate whispers by going offline.

Someone do some digging and remind me what the point of this beta wvsw thing really was. Let’s just assume everything started with the pairing system 2-3 months ago.
I’m from Ehmry bay (so tier 4 i guess), and I woulda thought that the point was to:
-standardize the wvsw experience across all worlds
-reset the glicko/ratings/tiers of all worlds….everyone starts on the same level
-standardize/balance populations across all tiers
-balance the guild upgrades
-deeblobify the meta and k-training
-create ‘avenues’ for meaningful gameplay experiences for all players.
-do things, collect data then use it to improve upon those things before repeating them
Looking at the mode now…..this is complete bulloney! None of this has been accomplished in T4. None of this was accomplished for the first pairing period (forgivable as a starting point)! None of this was accomplished in the second pairing period (WTF IS WITH CD!?!?!? SERIOUSly!)!
You made it easier to k-train, easier to blob, easier to win by pressing 1 button. You made it easier for winning teams to steamroll. Harder for the losers to get back up. There is no changing in the matchups…..people losing will keep losing, people winning will keep winning. You haven’t learned anything from the first pairing period, u need only look at the second pairings for evidence.
I mean by that logic, can you really say that the mode has been balanced in any sense of the word since this ‘beta’ period began? I cannot.
It is worse now than it was before the pairing period started. We here on Ebay had different matchups all the time…we always had the chance to win and the chance to lose. And the result at the end of the week would lead ‘somewhere’ almost immediately into the next week. Leading to harder enemies if we won….or weaker enemies if we lost.
So what server and tier are you on and has ur experience been any different? Are you happy with the beta wvsw? Do you feel anet is getting data and applying what they learnt? Do you think they need more time to look like they are “getting data and applying what they learnt”?
If this was report card time. Out of the ABCDF ratings I would give you, anet, a….

The point though is that small interval buffs to the ‘gameplay’ as described in the OP have been rampant ever since HOT released. They will continue to stack ontop of eachother and the meta will continue on a specific trend if devs fail to recognize this.
Thus far the the devs seem to either fail to recognize it, or they embrace the overall trend. I think were at the point where its worth discussing and bringing to the attention of the community given how clear the trend seems to be at this point.

This guy stands next to me and activates and de-activates the kodan tonic in rapid succession causing all manner of fps and performance drops.
The screen just lights up and everything goes to kitten. I mean forget trying to play……the game literally spazzed out on me, I had to port to get away and when i did the game was still in shellshock mode for quite a bit.
How….why…..HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN!??!!? How can have something that can cause alll this evil in the game!?!?! Why is there no cooldown on the tonic like all the other tonics!?!?? Just what the kitten are you thinking anet?!?!?!
FIX THIS IMMEDIATELY! The tonic should be outright removed immediately if people are gonna abuse an issue like this.

And the eotm community was developed by these people into a mode superior to wvsw.

Out of all the maps (if we exclude the modes they are allocated to) I think its fair to say that eotm’s map is the one where gliding makes the most sense and would be the most beneficial. Besides it would have been the PERFECT beta to test gliding out first.
But once again the dev team finds the illogical in the logical. You ever gone hiking? Ur like that guy who goes offpath everytime there’s a somewhat flat ‘path’ branching to the side, only to find the brush getting thicker and thicker. At that time you realize its not a real path forward, its a path that leads you in the wrong direction that leads you to have to backtrack.
Please enlighten me to an ‘update’ during this “beta” where this DIDN’T happen.

Too bad. Maybe if siege would get a “Repair” skill instead, so you can either shoot with them OR repair, maybe that idea would get more positive votes.
It wouldn’t. People who WvW are so opposed to anything involving siege its beyond ridiculous. A lot of people saw no impact from these hammers as shown in this thread, and yet people are still complaining about the “impact” that they had.
Why do you need to repair your siege? Move on and fight. And if your tower siege get’s downed that is life, deal with it. Nobody wants to stand around and repair your walmart siege!
Ur argument is based on personal playstyle. You want to move from 1 fight to another in a fluid fashion, basic zerg behaviour. Other people want to manage the objectives and upgrades. They want to fire siege and use other static things to help the team. There isn’t a right or wrong way to play….both play styles are just as effective at ppt.

I think pretty much all physical skills (but not the berserker ones obviously) need ‘something’ else, something small yet useful obviously, tacked onto them. Maybe they grant 3-4 sec vigor or some other boon on use or something….idk. Just needs ‘something’ else to make them worth that skill slot…shorter cd doesn’t necessarily make the abilities viable.
Still think our ‘invulnerabilities’ need to be changed so we can use them more often but for less spouts of time.
Worst thing with the class atm, for me, is that revenant does everything and still mitigates damage….is faster…..lands more damages…..blocks…dodges…..adds to group fights…and most importantly: has more moves to make in a fight, than warrior does.
IN a nutshell my primary wish: Give warriors more moves and options in a fight so they have the potential to fight multiple enemies for longer periods of time.

Cause everyone is getting more now.
More people are hitting the weekly cap. People who get 1 pip are making 3x as much lol. If someon1 who usually made 1 pip makes 3x as many pips, and twice as many tickets in their reward track each week….they are going 6x as fast as before the update.
All rewards are now attainable by any player regardless of their wvsw rank. You expected wvsw vets to complain about this? If we were pve players we would, but we aren’t. Were used to zero reward track, zero pip system, zero tip assist.
All the people complaining about people cheating the pip system and “afking” and using “multi-accounts” and all that kitten were pve players. They are players who think everyone has to grind spamming 1 as much as they do for a skin, or its UNFAIR!!!
I’d give them all the skins in the game if I could, then they would leave the game out of boredom. They are off playing their own little game, i don’t mind so long as they STOP forcing it on the real game.
Regardless they fill a void most players think is necessary i.e. population…..so throw them some hats now and then I guess.
Where is mending even viable atm? I mean healing signet rly does everything mending does but better.
Even if I wanna stack alll the condition counter abilities in the game…..id still go healing signet.
I want more dynamic wildlife, otherwise the maps get stale. Maybe thats one of the reasons I get so bored of EBG…..there is no wildlife except for the outer regions of the map.
Game needs less guards and stuff though around objectives….raise their damage but decrease their numbers.
I mean some stuff doesn’t really make sense to me though and looks totally out of place. Take the villagers in NN alpine camp for example….just ‘why’ do these exist….? They just stand around in 1 spot looking stupidly at you….most die in 3 hits, most don’t attack you, some do attack you but they are so laughable in damage (the big norn dude does) that it just doesn’t make any sense why they are there. And when you cap and recap a camp they automatically respawn/reset……its so cheesy and artificial looking for a supposed village.
DBl had some truly interesting pve in it. There wasn’t really any reward for doing it though…..they really should have given a reward. Take the Wyvern dragon in far NE DBL. There is literally no strategic reason to go all the way out to that spot….nobody was bothered by it and those that wanted it were happy it was there, thats a win-win. And the silver wyvern was a very very cool miniboss event with special animations and all that…the gold wyvern were weaker which made no sense….but the silver one was very very fun to fight. Again though, no real reward for doing it and it just respawns in 5 minutes after u kill it :/

One thing I had thought of, and have seen suggested on these forums, is to have EB be the central hub, then have the borderlands connect to it. What I’m thinking, though, is a series of areas. Ok, there’s be 3 asura gates in EB. Each one connected to a unique pass area, that then connects to the corresponding borderlandkinda like a hallway connects rooms. So if you were in EB, you’d have to take the gate to the pass, and then go through the pass to get to another gate that would take you to near the spawn area in that borderland. If you wanted to jump from one borderland to another, you’d have to go through a pass to get to EB, then travel across EB to get to the pass to that borderland, travel the pass and then get to the borderland.
It would have a similar effect, in delaying response times, to limit map hopping, but it wouldn’t result in people just kinda…. sitting there looking at their screen for x amount of time. They’d still be mobile, so they wouldn’t get too bored by it. Hopefully people would realize that they’d be better off breaking up their 80 man map queue blob, into 2-4 smaller groups and spread those out for better response times.

Ya, its rather hypocritical of Anet but this is likely the reason they will choose to not remove it.
Taking time to craft ur food/weapons/armour is increasing que times, but taking time to craft ur superior siege is fine…..cause reasons. Everyone knows how ridiculously long it takes to craft enough superior siege.
Anyways they’ll be decreasing the idle time next….to something even more ridiculous, at which point why would you even want to use the forge for anything more than a couple craftings.
They could free up a ton of que space by getting rid of all npc interaction. no bank no anvil no merchants no forge nothing…it would free up space! IT WOULD!!!!!! To those complaining about que lengths….that would be an easy fix. Rejoining the maps would present shorter que times as welll…..so some might suffer in needing to change their gear….but the d/c complainers would be happier.

….why not just remove armour damage completely? They already made it a pointless gimmick when they removed the repair cost. It serves no real purpose at this point other than to make everyone do more busy work.

-Takes wayyyy too many yaks to ‘secure’ towers/keeps (basic cannon and oil).
-reinforced and fortify need changes as well to make the wait/effort more worthwhile
-differential between DL bl and EBG in terms of upgrade times needs works.
-Quickness not working on flag planting. Very unfair for classes lacking in stealth/heavey aoe when dealing with 1v2/1v3 etc.
I’d comment on classes but that’s not WvsW related enough (hail your necro overlords).
Heck I am dragging and dropping, but I can not get it to move. My setup is like Chrysotile and no matter how many times I try to swap the chat box and party box it ain’t moving. Driving me insane at the moment.
try to pull from the top of the chat box (close to the right corner) and drag it up to the top of screen. Squad stuff now at top of screen……do ur options and what not, then drag chat box back up. if its locked still try in options, something there might be locking it (although i doubt it). More likely ur mouse or someehting ingame causing the problem.
Won’t rule out its a glitch though….I mean I get my minimap screwed up when im commanding so i can’t pan it and instead it beacons everywhere which is infuriating.

Actually, though GS is alright,I think it is rather boring to play. I like Axe/Axe better. It seems to work pretty darn well.
How exactly? You shouldn’t need fury and the other stuff from axe 4. Axe 3 is only useful for when you arent in cleave range. axe 2 is quite awkward for anything other than pve, its main use is that its a 360 degree attack that hits multiple times in fast succession (criting air or fire or whatever abilities on thiefs for example)…otherwise it can be used for setting up an eviscerate….but that leads to another problem I have with axe. THe primal axe2 ability is HORRRID. I HATEEEEE it so much. Its a crappy eviscerate, thats all it is….and people accept that cause it can be used multiple times in a row like every other primal. But no enemy is gonna sit there and let you land it multiple times in a row and god darnnnn its such kittentty damage and that shockwave makes no sense for such an ability and it does kittentty damage. I HATE IT SO MUCHHHH.
Axe 5 is the selling point really, and it leaves you open to attack AND cc the entire channel…easily knock some1 out of it if they dont stability before getting hit. And all it does is 100bs worth of damage….is a projectile thing so it activated combo fields which is cool but you arent running condi lol so it does kitten damage making most field not useful at all. The speed thing is coolish.
Just i’d take gs5 over it anyday. If I could pick and choose the best of axe and gs it would be replacing 100lb with axe 5…..thats pretty much it lol.

They used to be located in open field. I don’t know why they got put in the structures. But that was before they became synthesized too.
They were put in the structures because the dbl was an unfinished mess when it was introduced. It went live without any resource nodes at all so they patched in the synthesized ones later on.
Why they decided to stick with that half kitten patchwork and convert the other maps to follow suit is beyond me.
At the very least they should move the nodes to the edge of the capture ring so you can gather while capping.
Sorry its just rather amusing how some1’s hate for DBL literally changes all their memories to be things that validate said hate.
I’ll try and jog ur memory a bit though: Synthesizer Nodes were in ebg long before DBL was a thing…..

We run all our zergs with a kill on sight rule of thumb for duelers.
You mean: We waste time running our zerg around the whole of outer SM to run over any would be duelers in the area, cause unless we send a force 10x larger our zerg quality dueling haters will come back in body bags.
I mean seriously…..lay off on this. Most of us don’t have a home anymore for 3 months. The wins probably don’t mean anything when it comes to settings rankings during this beta period either. I highly highly doubt a bl winning all matches during these 3 months will mean it will be placed against a borderland with a similar win rate afterwards…lol. How would they even do that? Its 2 bl per team. Would both bl share the win rate at the end when they are split? Then they could be fighting against eachother as equals….only one is 3x larger than the other and will eat it whole.
The point of kicking duelers is to allow people who want to join ur zerg into the server faster right? The point of letting people into the zerg faster is to let them have fun…right? Then the point of the game is for each person in the game to enjoy it and have fun. So then why should a zergling’s fun be greater than a dueler’s fun? That’s like saying a player not getting enough kills or not being in the zerg or who is new and isn’t contributing enough should be kicked from the server so someone more desirable can join. It’s a very flawed mindset.

I still think that warrior adrenal health in combination with the healing power of healing signet…..needs to be nerfed to some degree. Or just adrenal health itself needs more nerfs. Headbutt too is stupidly useful and dumbs the whole class down alot when you combine it with the insane healing. toss in rousing resilience and its almost as ridiculous as druid heals. was hoping for a nerf to the defense traitline. Seriously the amount of survivability we get from this single traitline (defense traitline) is just plain dumb. I get its the only thing keeping melee users viable….but its just dumb the way its setup.
Other than that, rather happy with the changes to warriors this build. Everything i saw in the notes made sense. Decrease the cd of wildblow and bullrush for example….they’ve been decreasing and decreasing them and now bullrush is literally half the cd it used to be (its about time). It honestly won’t make them viable for most people to try…but for funner and more specific/specialized types of builds they give people more viable ways to include them.
Signet of fury is now 16s cd when traited…..same as healing signet. This is absolutely awesome for gunflamers. The main problem was being unable to immediately engage the next target after finishing the last one. You would need to wait a few seconds for most of ur cd’s to go out…..now this shouldn’t be a problem since the cd of fury is so much closer to the activation time of berserker mode.
Also I’m Tired of revenant complainers…….
-everyone had the option of taking and learning this new class (its just 1 year old now).
-it was op beyond belief when it was shipped
-its been nerfed bit by bit ever since then and the complaints are the same as they are now
It was still viable and in the meta last build…..and the build before that and the build before that….it will still be viable and meta THIS build. Anet just spoiled the class when it shipped it, now you must learn to look at things more objectively.
Just go back to what you played before revenant…..get rekt, and then maybe you’ll see how good you got it with rev.

I want as many options as possible put into the squad system. More colours for tags would be welcome as well. A colour code for tag purpose would be even MORE welcome! Yellow: guild runs; Blue: Public groups; Red: Fight group; Pink: whatever
I’m tired of being spied on. Whenever I’m tagged or part of the commander’s squad I seem to get spotted immediately when I go off to solo towers/keeps/sm. If I do it in secret with just 1-2 trustworthy others NOBODY ever finds us.
Sm was fortified and had been under siege with a busted wall for 20 minutes. I Went in and built a ram and took down the inner solo with nobody spotting me. Inside were 4- 5 omega golemns. Countless other examples like this occur. If you tell people in teamchat that you are gonna hit an enemy keep, the enemy is usuallly waiting on the cannons for you regardless of whether you do it in stealth or not (without being seen). It’s painfully obvious the enemy relies on what shows up on ‘our borderland’s’ public map.
Anet instead of limiting us to try and maintain your ‘almighty vision’ of WvsW, you should try to just give players what they want with no strings attached! You couldn’t make things any worse at this point.
We’ve avoided adding this feature because we don’t believe it would be healthy for WvW. While we can appreciate why some players would want a feature like this, lots of other players only engage in WvW when, upon entering a WvW map, immediately see a commander icon to follow. We try and avoid adding features that can be used to intentionally exclude other players.
Players are already excluded by their community for alot of content in wvsw. This is the indiviual communities decisions obviously, but these communities and decisions thrive because of the system you ALREADY have implemented. It’s hypocritical to just revoke certain features and their benefits thinking it will ruin the amazing exclusion free system u already don’t have.
I don’t get why you change to these new maps. They look bad, they smell bad, they taste bad, and nobody is playing anymore since you added them.
Everyone just spawn camps their home bls preventing roamers from doing any real damage. When zergs go to fight there they just slosh back and forth in the same spots over and over without gain. And bloodlust is the stupidest thing I’ve seen in wvsw to date. 75% of the land on these new maps aren’t even used for combat! Or has anything to do with wvsw!
When they don’t delete the DBL, you’ll know that this was all talk, as usual.
Contrary to narcissistic opinions, not everyone hates these bl nor wants them removed. If they don’t delete them it means they did listen. If they do, it also means they did listen. Forums are mostly used by disgruntled playerbase, the people who do like the bl likely won’t be taking to the forums…that is why it seems skewed towards people hating them and anet just not listening. There’s enough people who like them that it isn’t so one-sided as to just automatically plan to switch back.
Hello! I had a quick question, and can’t seem to find much info online about this.
I have been gone for a while and am currently updating my client to join back into the fray! When I last played the game, WvW was not considered “PvP” by Arenanet. The PvP class tweaks did not affect it, the gear was not normalized so PvE gear disparities were present, and whatever gear/stats you brought with you from the PvE side of the game was all you had for WvW.
Is this still the case, or did it ever get upgraded to PvP status? I always thought this was a bit… strange, and then I heard that some WvW patches were in the works, so I wanted to see what the news was on this front.

This has to be the laziest excuse for a posting I’ve seen in a while. You are speaking ur mind for the sake of speaking ur mind. You already know the answer to ur question, and if you don’t you know nothing about the mode so why don’t you actually play it and then start making threads.
I know right? It’s kind of like posting the mini: zuzu cat of darkness for halloween for 20 candy corn cobblers. its really nice of them to add quality of life changes like this. I mean we could just buy it off the TP for 1 gold and save 25 gold….but anet is improving quality of life so its great.
TL:DR: its cheaper to buy superior siege off the Tp than it is to create them. Also factor in that you are wasting time. Also factor in you are wasting spirit shards that could instead be used to create a ton of lodestones and sell at a huge profit on the TP.
I mean i guess we should thank them for still allowing us to buy basic siege for so few laurels while were at it….
everything wonderful they do is flying under the radar! its so unjust and unfair!
There, i ruined everything.
This is a learn to play issue.
So I will give you some advice to help you learn to play through this issue:
1. Choose your class wisely, necro is just a large hp pool….it is exactly the problem you describe here. Whereas something like warrior offers you this “IMMUNITY” you seem to think doesn’t exist….it can be 50 vs 1 and the warrior has access to 2x endure pains (9s ttl when traited), berserker stance for 9s resistance distributed as 3s pulses 3x, you also get defiant stance which is a heal on hit….so this offers even a set immunity for even the worst condi boonstrip bombings.
2. use food. I shouldn’t even have to say it at this point. If you are angry at something related to fighting in wvsw and you don’t use food…..just what are you doing?
Dmg reduction food is the most blatantly powerful food ingame stat-wise, and anet gives it nothing but love and support while nerfing everything else.
3. dodge. use sigil of energy. dodge. it offers full immunity from dmg 2×....you won’t find something like this just blatantly provided to all classses by default in many games.
4. be map aware. there’s no way a zerg of 50 will just appear out of nowhere ontop of you if you are paying attention to where you are and whats around you.
5. you have downed state, learn to take advantage of this.
6. be aware of how the game works….anything goes in a fight, and numbers determine most outcomes. So choose a build that allows you to pick where and when the fight will be in your favour, and allows you to withdraw otherwise.
7. Be VERY aware that the reason you are able to mow through a group of 20, regardless of how well they are playing, with a group of 50, without even trying, is because of target caps. Infact its kinda hilarious your whole post is about getting ‘1shotted’ by any number of players, and your solution is to increase something like your hp. I mean what if you could 1 shot 50 people who were trying to 1 shot you? How would that change things do you think? Instead you just want to be able to kite/survive longer without sacrificing your damage/utility. You ever kinda wonder what you propose would do to the gameplay of wvsw? What would increasing everyone’s health pools DO to the game do you think….can you honestly say there is more positive than negative to be had if its implemented into the current gamemode (cause i definitely can’t….)?
8. you even got invulnerability when you get put into downed state…..I mean cmon.
9. Numbers…..bring more to a fight, you will tank exponentially higher just by having more people around you due to how downed state functions.
If you want more, just ask. I can give you my trailblazer warrior build….and you will never die to anything less than 4+ medium skilled fighers, or 2+ highly skilled fighters. Why do I not run my trailbalzer warrior build you ask? Cause it is the most boring thing ever to play, you can’t get anyhting done cause you kill so slowly. And the longer you sit there fighting the more likely more enemies will come and you just get swarmed. You can 1vs1 a pro burst thief indefinitely without either of you dying……its just ridiculous.

Honestly the time for caring about auto-leveling has passed in this game. We already had tomes and all this other stuff and resources and ways to get to 80 without having to do the story or ‘anything’ at all. People took pride in getting a character to 80 when the game was first launched and it continued that way till these items got introduced. Why? Cause it took time and effort and investment!
Honestly I think the game is only hurting itself by continuing to add ways to auto level 80. Why? It just makes a HUGE part of the game irrelevant straight off the bat. Any gear not exotic or higher and not lvl 80 is now irrelevant for the purposes of equipping/using. Doing the story or knowing what it is at all is largely irrelevant. Knowing anything about Gw2 is largely irrelevant. Knowing the zones or anything outside of key areas is irrelevant. Exploring the maps…has been irrelevant for a while with the handholding “go this way and explore here next” kitten ui tooltips. The game hurts itself into a shallow experience as an easy way to draw in new players with short attention spans. That’s pretty much all this boils down too. It is disconcerting but its been going on for so long and its already been in the core game for so long that its hard to get all of a sudden really angry about. It doesn’t surprise me at all this new thign exists. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if rare gear was handed out freely….or exotic gear…..or if all ur characters were automatically allowed to be lvl 80 with a press of a button at any point in ur playtime. It punishes the players that want to go through the gw2 experience….for sure. Especially since they know they could just click a button and activate god mode and just run through everything faster and more efficiently with 0 effort.
The community in this game is something else… Now we cry when we’re given free kitten.

It would be like darksouls devs listening to people say the game needs to be made easy. And then people coming and complaining that the game is now too easy! Obviously they are not gonna be the same people who wanted it to be made easy in the first place.
I don’t get why the white skinned asura isn’t available for players yet. All we have access to are grey…..brown…..black….and greeen. All those colours are ugly! Srsly ugly!
There are plenty of white skinned asura in the game. particularly the double ponie tail female asura in la and her identical 2 twins at the starting area in ember bay.
Would like a white skin colour option. My greeeney grey skin colour is killing my costumers….literallly. I can change to grey but it does little to change it.

Not happy you are saying WvsW updates (aka bug fixes) will be delayed even further. I get the need for more pve content stories for all players to grind through…but when so much of your endgame content is broken, 2 hour grindware shouldn’t be your top priority.
Sorry but from my limited perspective this is getting ridiculous. There has been next to no balance between professions since HoT launched. And you keep running these professional pvp seasons for long periods of time and naturally refuse to make any impactful profession changes during these periods!
This is ridiculous! Some classes have needed complete overhauls since the insanity that was HoT arrived.
You made us wait MONTHS for a revenant nerf because of the last pvp season. That was pretty insane I think we can all agree on that much. I’d like to think that this allows you to spend time fixing other things like WvsW…such hopeful thinking just ends up making me look stupid though.
So many broken things in this game that just don’t look like they are going to get fixed. I just feel like the new emphasis on pvp and cash prizes has created a delay that will force HoT to stay in a beta state for at least a year if not 2…that isn’t cool, anyone who thinks that is acceptable needs to do some research on how industry decisions like this have led consumers to so much grief over the years. I feel like we need a giant ‘BETA’ sticker on the gw2 launcher at this point.
The primary draw of this game is the combat. Balancing the professions should be the top priority right now! Not pvp seasons…that doesn’t make sense, you just alienate ur existing community in the hopes of getting new blood in. Do you really hate us that much? Are we such a bad community of people?

This was a bug? What? Rip Defenders. I thought it was there to give defenders ‘something’ to contend with attackers ability to resurrect any of their killed members. But apparently defense is a case of a tower defense game where you don’t get more resources or members after each wave. You get less and less and the only way to defend is to drive the enemy off with superior numbers or keep going until they get bored and giveup or they killed you all….cap something else and then come back after the defenders have dispersed for an easy knab.
Does anyone defend anymore? I stopped. Whenever something is under attack I take a group and start attacking something else. The payoff in terms of points for our BL and rewards for my party members is wayyyyy better that way. I suggest everyone start playing this way. We can all be happier if all fighting takes place out in the open, and towers/keeps/castles are just static objects that we take and give to eachother without resistance . The game plays better this way too. Just stop defending! Fighting should be reserved for open land combat. If your ontop of a wall or behind a wall, you are playing wrong. I mean why not even prevent people from defending completely? Make the structures closed so if you own it, you can’t enter it to defend. Make attacking structures a PVE type gamemode. We can even make them separate load screen barred instanced zones. SO if u take down a gate….you port to an instanced zone where its just a flat open enclosed space with a lord at the other end of it. Then attackers and defenders can enter this instanced zone and go at it. I mean this would make battles less laggy and fix server limitations with population and player limits. Literally u bring down a gate….walk through it…get a load screen….port into a separate zone! Why not? We can even make maps larger/smaller by doing this since the zone inside of SM for example isn’t even on the map…it’s just a flat rendered image.
Not surprised they did it. They’ve already done it to many things in the game since the “BETAAAAA” started. The only things really still allowed are kites from the gemstore (not normal kites cause those can’t be bought with gems)…..hypocritical much? Soon even medpacks will be disabled for transformed players. And soon tonics completely will be removed if things keep on this track.
I miss using banners while transformed…i miss when banners were useful tactics……i miss many things but best to look to the future and see how many more things you ‘can’ start to miss.
Take all the fun and individuality out of the game…and justify it by claiming: IT WAS TOO CONFUSING TO THE NEW PLAYERS AND ITS BETTER WE STREAMLINE THE EXPERIENCE.

Most of us are tired and old as far as this mode goes.
The new blood….maybe the future belongs to them. Maybe anet is right and the whole experience should fall to new players rather than the old. It should all be streamlined into a drop in and out edge of the mists format.

:/ Standard gs+axe/shield build. Was expecting something more “axe” related with the build name….offhand….double axe….axe mastery….axe as ur main dps…..ETCCCC. Standard build, not gonna critique its been done.
I found it really dumb and confusing so i switched it off to normal. Like why would the enemies be green dots…..so confusing. It made my tagetting all wonky too….idk if its just the change or the fact targetting has always been wonky but it was better when i turned it off. Now my targetting is back to horrid, but at least its not wonky.
I’m coming from mesmer as main and after the buffs from the patch I wanted to dust off my warrior and see how I fair with the class. I have elite spec unlocked.
I’m really at a loss on where to begin on the build and hoping some of you that main warrior can point me in the right direction. I’ve taken a stab in the dark putting something together:
With the patch changes there may be better options. Just unsure what would be best. I haven’t played warrior with any regularity in 2 years so please excuse my noobness.

Definitely lose the tactics trait line if you are solo roaming. Take defense instead.
In terms of vanilla warrior builds I didn’t really like any of the ones people suggested above. So I’ll give you mine
Here is my wvsw roamer build using Gs/Sword+shield. I would highly recommend it for solo roam, you can do/take everything on Desert bl using this build as well as ebg (cept solo sm lord probably…although I’m working on that). It’s a very friendly solid build that anyone can really get into and start doing well with. Tons of damage, and alot of defense at very little cost to damage.

The food can be changed to lifesteal/health regen/ or whatever. Should keep the maintenance oil though for extra precision. Sigil of night can be changed to sigil of energy for extra survivability during the day anyways (decreases ur damage by alot though)….during the night I sometimes still recommend sigil of night especially for pve since the damage is so high. Infact I suggest you have a night Gs you can swap in just for sigil of night, 10% damage increase is HUGE.
Alternatively I’ve been playing around with new builds since the recent patch. And I’ve very much been enjoying axe/shield for the first time ever. I used to be a HUGE sword/shield fan and would always hate axe (really reallly hate axe passionately)…..but this newest patch has changed things and I’m really enjoying axe for once!

I kid you not, 4 signets = win. When dealing with large zerg forces swap in an endure pain over the signet of stamina….or go the other route and choose frenzy if you are able to jump in and out.
Oh and you might want to change heightened focus for burst mastery in the discipline trait line (last column) for both these builds just cause adrenaline is now an insanely important part of sustain due to adrenal health changes. Personally I still love the quickness more though…..something for you to decide on ur own.

Interesting OP post. I basically feel the opposite of what you feel. I think the game is too casual and too RNG based now. And that this RNG has destroyed the heart and reasons for repeating content over and over. I agree on a common point though that in the end you are grinding for something that isn’t worth the time spent and is a boring and tedious process to grind.
100 presents = about 15 gold in bootlegging. Personally, I’m not complaining since I need the money. If you already have all that though….

Ummm………..ya how about you bring ur nose out of the textbooks and actually watch others play them in those modes. They are still ridiculously powerful due in main part to their ridiculous utility and abilities. They don’t do things THEBEST…..but they do THEMOST things and they do them ALL well….utility keeps them viable, it always has.
You are looking at some of these things from the wrong perspective IMO. You aren’t properly quantifying affinity or dodges or other utility options. You are just looking at nerfed stat values and saying that because its even lower than it was before, they were borderline before, that now we are below the threshold they are no longer viable for anything. And this is the wrong way to look at it.
i want less kittens in my inventory. too many chests that explode into a ton of items i have to salvage and sell and delete. ridiculous. I mean what is considered good exactly mr OP in terms of RNG? yellows and exotics that don’t have rare skins? Those are just like any other salvage/sell item u get in a daily chest…..nohting special.
I hardly ever get anything outside of that from RNG. And when i do on those rare occasions its worth 10=20g generally on the tp. I mean thats fine for me i guess….its ‘just’ enough and its not worth anything really but is something that gets me excited enough for the prospect of finding a legendary precursor or whatever some day.

I disagree.
One of the few things propping up core warrior right now is the ability to run strength and the discipline line along with defense.
Beserkers are forced to choose: do they want more damage output (strength), or utility (discipline). Making that hard choice is good for the game and levels out fights between core and elite specs. Having to make that choice IS the trade off for gaining so much from your elite spec.
You dont need to get even more stuff for free, and god forbid a core warrior should actually have an advantage over you in a fight.
Just another attempt to push the elites even further ahead. Core warrior gains choice for the huge losses by not taking the elite spec, that seems like a fair trade-off to me.

I think though that what the others are saying is that classes, like the warrior, feel alot more immersive and less tank controlled when you have fasthands. And I fully agree with this.
Oh I thought this would be an intellectual discussion on what constitutes a puzzle and what is should be named…..not another /cry emote. The prize is terrible anyways….you are better off ignoring it and turning 10k drinks into gold.
Problem is ghost thiefs are strong against any glass cannon build, can run circles around them, ooc abuse them, and just stalk them till they die. It lowers the skill floor of all players by making them feel stupid for not tanking up. And its a case where there is no counterplay for many of these classes, and whenever you outplay the thief it can just stealth or jump away then ooc then stalk you again.
I mean they can’t kill me in a 1vs1 with my condi build (which is tank by default since condi allows this crap), I find it annoying they just run away and ooc all the time though and come back but they can’t hurt me unless there are 2+ of them. That doesn’t really make it okay though, its pretty dumb to know where they are but be unable to hit them with ur damage abilities cause they can’t be targetted.
I’m fine with the build existing. But the fact the thief has all this movement speed/ability. Has the ability to ooc abuse. And can just waypoint back and forth across the map like any other classes. Has 3 dodges and all these evade spamming abilities and heals….its ridiculous to kill the stupid thief and have it reappear within 1 minute fully refreshed and ready to kill you. And overall presents to little risk to the thief itself…
Alll that kitten makes it not okay imo. Low risk High reward isn’t good for the game. High risk High reward IS good for the game…..so fix this kitten alrdy.
Only reliable reveal are the DH traps and maybe thennew warrior shout. and thats it
warrior shout is 4 second of reveal on a 1200 range with a 30s cd. And you have to have the enemy targetted to do it…lulz.
And if ur a warrior of any substance, you have to ooc to spec it into ur build since its active ability is a single target 10 vulnerability stack….for 10 seconds…which is the crappiest thing you could bring to a wvw fight.
But hey I’m sure getting the thief revealed for 4 second will be more than enough time to deal with its 3 dodges, blocks, and attacks with built-in evade, and their heal…..and kill it before it stealth again and ooc’s and comes back full hp to hunt a warrior with -1 utility skills meaning the warrior will lack a stability an endure pain or a berserker stance.
