The problem isn’t that the update has been pushed back to March, just that there isn’t any useful updates to fix the core problems like lag, culling, and fps/cpu optimizations. Hopefully ESO gets it right…

What a disappointment…

Beta testers have said Elder scrolls online (ESO) is not bad. A little like DAoC(Dark age of camelot). GW2 took some artists from Mythic that helped in DAoC and GW2 was meant to be the DAoC killer which now seems not so likely if they dont focus on WvW. This will mean the crowd looking for WvWvW or RvRvR type of pvp will be forced to shift to ESO.

So this gives Anet about 1 year to get their act on WvW or lose a huge number of players to ESO

They want GW2 to be an esports better than Dota.

But they are sitting on a gem called WvWvW.

However, they really need to add an objective like a massive relic raid(orb raid) to create desires to play more wvwvw.

Seasons just does not cut it when the prize is a bunch of tickets.

We are seeing declines across all Tiers in NA.

It took 1 year to change the BL colors. At this rate it will take 987,123,987,127 years before you see decent environmental effects in WvW.

as far as dnd, u could make a kitten condi ele. The fact remains that the ele(as said by the balance team many times) is meant to be a mix. SO as an ele ,when u go very glassy, u die alot faster than when a tank goes glassy spec, when u go condi u are half the condi beast of a condi spec necro/ranger,etc. This is why playing a versatile ele is more important.

Folks duel in WvW all the time because wvwvw is an uncontrolled setting. Many more variables to consider. Things are boring when everything is constant.

Consolidate 8 tiers into 3 tiers made of alliances for WvW.

Most of us have learnt how to play the ele well. I feel sad for the newcomers that will curse the class even more. Anet, u didnt balance the class, if anything, its a downward movement

The founder of Mythic – Mark Jacobs is in the process of developing Camelot Unchained AKA DAoC 2.

A dev i spoke to said they were fixing old bugs of the wvw maps and that we should wait for the mid-late of next year.

I hope that means we will get back orbs

I have played DAoC for nearly 10 years.

GW2 will need a radical departure from its current state of WvWvW to be similar to RvRvR. It will be like trying to convert wood into metal.

For those that are wondering, RvRvR was DAoC golden child. It was very important. Whereas in GW2 , PvE and t/sPvP are more of a priority over WvWvW.

• Anet could first add ingame GMs like DAoC had.
• Anet could add community chosen class representatives to provide extra feedback to the class balance team.
• Anet should increase the max group size in WvWvW to 8 , just like DAoC RvRvR. But have it for wvwvw only. Not for pve or anything else.
• Fix commander pins, add password to a commander chat channel so that spies can be removed
• Bring back Orbs like how DAoC had relics. But Orbs have to be as hard to take as DAoC relics. Make it so that it would require absolute cohesion on a server wide basis.
• DAoc could handle 500 players at a go, Anet should refine their code to increase the cap
• Add subtle variations to each BL, just like DAoC. Make it interesting and not routine.
• Modify EB to make it more roaming friendly.
• Increase the difficulty of the standard guard.

Do not leave TC. They need as much quality roamers as possible.

For merging server

how do we determine who gets merged?

• Based on WvWvW population, not PvE (Stats which are available to you only)

Where would we merge them to?

• Create Clusters, give them names and do what DAOC did

How do we maintain any sort of world pride or identity they have?

• Clusters create new identity. After all, the movement by guilds from server X to Y is not uncommon

How do we handle potentially merging with your mortal enemies?

• You cant. They will learn to get along. Offcourse you cant merge BG with JQ. Thats of the table.

For population caps, how do we deal with the longer queues on the worlds that can field enough people?

• Clusters will solve the problem

If it is dynamic, would players be able to manipulate it? For example, our world is ahead so we all agree to not play WvW so the other worlds are capped down and can’t counter us.

The relationship between BG and JQ is very complicated.

When SoR overstacked a few months ago, BG and JQ buddied up to buckle down SoR.

When BG overstacked and took everyone in , JQ buddied with SoR. The relationship between SoR and JQ was sour during SEA time but good during NA. While during that SEA time, BG was in good terms with JQ.

In the end, JQ chooses who to bed while BG and SoR have old history dating back to the dinosaurs.

to OP : Folks dont realise u have to forgo many traits to attain that trait. Majority of eles are NOT built that way now. It was a FOTM for a few weeks but not anymore.

Stop making diamond skin sound like eles are walking immortal beings. Have u tried hitting a regen warrior? Or fighting a PU mesmer?

Tornado has been nerfed twice. To the extent that no reasonable sane ele would use it.

Elementals are a huge joke as well. Heal what? It is completly broken in WvW.

This leaves us with one real option, the almighty craptastic fiery greatsword.

Anet as been very sneaky since beta with numerous Ninja style stealth patches from
class changes to wvw coding. Anet should be upfront about their patch changes, no matter how minute. imho

HzH is an excellent guild. I have grouped with them on numerous occasions and they are very well coordinated. They also apply many modern strategies and use TS3. The work in conjunction with others guilds in JQ and are also very friendly and reliable.
