BTW, Crystal, would it be possible to make those ghostly infusions +7AR +5 other stat? It doesn’t make sense to use +5 when we can equip +7 now.
But it doesn’t look like it somehow spoilt her…. so i guess it is something else…
forget it…. it won’t happen. I already started to save gold and plan to buy Dusk in a year or so….
Exactly, it’s not like some boss in PVE tells you “ha! noob, you killed me in 10 seconds, not in 9,7 like yesterday.”
Hi Gaile,
I love the new shatterer, the launching pads, gliding and changing fractal level inside of the instance.
Bug I found: LFG tool doesn’t work well. There is some bug which prevents the advert coming up on the list. It happened in fractals. Plus annoying clicking on buying fractal keys and confirming it.
What I think devs should work on:
PvE balance is now needed. There must be a distinction between pve and PvP skill power.
Raids are something where every profession should be a nice addition to the party, but guardian is not that case, he is just a “meh” profession for now. His low damage, weaker party buff, and lack of some special functionality (like mesmer’s party wide alacrity and distortion) makes him unviable there.
Furthermore, my newly crafted tanking gear is collecting dust. I would like raid devs to think about how unfriendly their design is to main-only players. Let’s assume somebody will take me to the party out of pity and let me tank VG: we kill it (yaaaay!) and then they ask me to switch to some full dps profession…that is reality, and the worst part of it is that it seems to be by design.
I don’t know about other professions because I play only guardian since 2012, but I do honestly know that guardian in raid needs a huge buff in functionality (not just DPS). And it would be nice to have it not only in new wings, but also in the first one: so basically if we are supposed to tank VG we need to get something extra for the party, and if Gorseval and Sabetha are not in need of tank, we need to have a pure single target DPS build that is as good as warrior/revenant. But, do it only in PVE. PVE traps now lost their important functionality, as half a second of daze doesn’t help much with mobs.

So I watched developer livestream. They downed him only to 50% even though they were doing quite fine…. what do you think? I think arenanet overdone this.
Champions – Chance for exotic loot + meterial
Dynamic events – Few silver, few karma, counting into some achievements
Logic- None
I sometimes feel like ordinary players have much better ideas than developers with years of experience… don’t know why.
I don’t envy you… GZ…. I just feel like a total noob in terms of economics…. I had so much gold so many times… if only I invested it wisely at the right moment
This is achievable only by playing TP
Reason why he is unkillable
it’s not the mechanic… it’s the players
btw. arena net: why do you think that open world noob zerks which do not even speak english can organize some meaningful tactics when they don’t even know they need to revive at waypoint? You should have done this instanced fight for big guilds.
Omg, Anet, please stop it.
You have to limit the number of players for each zone.
Only Tequatl and Wurm need 150 ppl. The rest of the zones are fine with ~70
So the sylvari who doesnt have pale tree are new enemy…. there will be xenophobic rebels who will be attacking good sylvari… that is interesting
WHAT IS NOT SO COOL is that Treharne used really really complex tactic – he put all his assests on one place without scouting it out first and shouted: FIRE! ………how unexpted that everyone was doomed.
Anet, You either made him totally stupid, or you just don’t see how thoughtless this attack was.
On the other hand, other parts of the this story part were great (aside from boring long killing of ghastly weapons)
I don’t want to live in a world where 65g item is cheap.
It’s good I stopped caring for achievements from living story. Now I can just completely ignore pavilion
But Bazaaar is good, I like the new spots of collectable crystals.
I know it is a known issue, but I want to add my issue too: Explored 100% Auric Basin and didn’t recieve the reward. So when you will be rolling out fixes, don’t forget about me please xD
If you want to get somewhere in this game, to experience the higher end of content, you cannot play just 1 class (unless you have close guildies to carry you). Make sure to have a few classes at 80 and geared, thats how you get around, becuase the meta and class usefulness shifts as the wind every few months.
I dont see why someone would take a DH for DPS, healing or tanking (other than first boss), but that’s just cuz I like to min-max, but there are so many out there who are the same, and that’s okay, because people have several classes for each situation.
Thank you dear elitist for your input. I will quit my RL and start equipping all 9 characters so I can finally play. …your kind is what made this game so horrible…or the game became this horrible and attracted your kind? Hmmm
So after I don’t know how many weeks, I decided to run Season 2 LS with my girlfriend. Even though there were several patches between then and now, we still can’t hear every other dialogue from the personal story instances. This is SOOOOO embarrassing for the company, and for the everyone who brought someone into the game. How can you open F2P and expect people to buy the game eventually, when all the players experience, from the early beginning, this audio bug.
This should be NUMBER ONE priority. Not your HoT. – Even that will suffer from this bug.
Focus on maintaining the quality of the game, please. I doubt this kind of things happen in other audio-narrated MMOs.
PS> Pop-up window asking about leaving the instance which shows up with every reached checkpoint is also something that should had been gone for a very long time.

Dear Anet, if I again won’t get this limited ticket, I swear, I will change mmo until you get to listen to your community.
This is a serious issue. Core party profession like guardian cannot be refused in raids!
1. Why only one out of 3 bosses needs a tank? Isn’t it ridiculous to change the whole toon for the next bosses? The answer is: Yes. It breaks the immersion with your character and and it is also very annoying because not everybody enjoys playing with alts.
2. Why don’t we have some skills infused in raid maps to have a shorter cooldown or better effects. We need to have some role in raids, but everything we do, other professions do better. Either use your balancing tech and apply it in raids too, or buff the whole PVE side of guardians, but do something. We need bigger sustained DPS/better support.
3. Why aren’t we on par with revenants who stole our role of a party support, or burn warriors who stole our burning which was the core charasteristics of guardians?
It is ridiculous the revenant can keep boons up 100% of time while having crazy DPS and guardians cannot do even one of these things. We are freaking GUARDIANS, we should be the best at supporting the party! I get your revenant was a big selling point of this expansion, but that doesn’t give you right to completely nullify a core profession. And I get it, you made a condition warrior. But why did you make him a better burner than guardian? Guardian, if specialised in burning, should had always been the best burner in the game.
I don’t care if you make us DPS+support or create raids bosses that require tanks, but you definitely need to do something with us. Raid party that needs just warriors, revenants, tempest and chronomancers is not how raid content is supposed to be designed.
And yes, I get it, you can finish raid with much bigger variety of professions, but why would somebody want to do it, if it meant the fight would get much harder.
10K beverages for someone who loves playing GW2 but also loves not to spend his/her life in front of PC is just undoable. I started selling them after first 50 I so blindly consumed…. didn’t expect it will recquire as much as 10K. But then again, this is not the first or last time ArenaNet released content that they didn’t think about at all.
The person who came with 10K should feel ashamed. He/she would fly away from company in the speed of light.

From Guild Leader to Guild Beggar in HoT flat
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Mortifer.2946
Removal, nerf, and rollback of all the boosts associated with guild upgrades was really dumb decision…. I thought these things will be grand-fathered, but apparently they got scrapped….they are not even worth to get for all that material costs
I’ll tell you a secret. Anet decided to stop writing preview pages prior the release because of numerous reasons (in-game economic-wise, spoiler-wise, etc). We only get teasers like this one.
Next point: This is freaking Season 2! It’s Anet way of distributing a true datadisk. It was confirmed that new updates will be permanent. They need to attract back their players and there is no better way of doing it, than by Grand introduction of 2 new regions (by opening the first zone in Maguuma Wastes region). The patch need to be big and beyond players’ expectations to create OMG I LOVE ANET effect.
Story wise: The story concentrates around our new group of NPC heroes who are mainly investigators and thus, there must be some new secret villain and unexpected twists (taking down of Zephirites).
All in all, this first S2 update is created to blow our minds. However, we will have to see if Anet manages to pull this off without any major bugs, errors, instabilities, and other issues we’ve experienced in the former big patches.
fingers crossed

The Darkest Saddest Most Cruel Day in L.A.
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath
Posted by: Mortifer.2946
Yesterday, I died on Golem Mark II. I then transformed into quaggan and started saying:
“Chooo chooo, poor quaggan died. Will someone revive quaggan?”
And bang, I got ressed right away
Before that, everyone was ignoring me.
Liadri was awesome… I always imagined GW2 bosses to be like this before the launch. Instead, we got dummies with millions HP and stacking damage tactics.
Masteries are rewards for mastering the game. You can’t master some content? You won’t get mastery for it. It is a simple endgame progress system.
OP, sorry for that trinket mistake, you were right.
It is however laughable what you think about guild wars 2 business model.
millions people bought this game because it is B2P. If ArenaNet changes their model to subscription or micro transaction for content, I would just leave, and with me millions of people. You don’t understand that there are people buying so many gems, that they are a tally making this model possible.
The trick is to walk into them, not to try to jump into them and repeatedly pressing space.
Just walk in, it will blow you up. Then activate glider and I suggest pressing dodge immediately, as the falling rocks can kill you instantly.
they would be beautiful on armours!
I agree. When precursors through collections cost several hundred gold more than from TP, it kills the need for the collection. I sold all my T7 mats and bought it straight away. Saved myself a full month of farming for more mats and things like that coral thingy.
The worst decision ArenaNet made was using T7 on legendaries and tying the quantities through pre-hot prices of T7 and precursors. ….I don’t get how can someone think this is a good idea and he/she is actually paid for such a rubbish thinking
It will be like in any other series for sure. We will kill Scarlet, but even bigger enemy threat will be suggested or maybe shown.
I just hope it is dragon. I bought this game because I wanted to fight elder dragons, not crazy plants (I am playing a plant myself, though. lol).
My third and the last plea. Please bring it back.
I have a feeling that many people here on the forums didn’t quite get the concept of specializations. I will explain it without many words on one example:
You are a ranger, you have ranger traits and skills. After level 80 you gain some specialization points from doing the Xpack.
There is a new specialization tree for each class (even thought there will be probably just one branch in this Xpack and next one in the Xpack2). You have the first point – you spend it (click) – congratulations! You now have a choice to use new class special F1/2/3/4 ability
2nd point – you can use staff and you automatically unlocks 5 weapon skills for staff druid.
You gain more specialization points – click- congratulations! You have unlocked a new healing spell for your druid.
More points >> utility skills
Final specialization point – click – and now you have the access for a new elite skill!
that’s it… You are still a ranger, but you can use new F-skills, a new weapon and a bunch of new skills from the right half of the action bar.
X-PACK2————
You gain more points from Xpack 2 content, you unlock new skills like mentioned above. You click on a “switch” and congratz! you have Tomb Raider specialization (or whatever the name will be) and now you cannot use the Druid ones, but you still have RANGER ones.
//EDIT:

So I was right the whole time.
;) never argue with me
(edited by Mortifer.2946)
No, it is not that. You have exotic champion loot box, you get the same one some time later in some other map. Both exotic, both share the same name, the same description, the same icon, and yet, they don’t stack. It is really annoying but I was always lazy to make a topic about it. Thank you, OP.
If there is someone who can draw nicely, I suggest making a meme picture:
Guardian with a big freaking shield and mace and hammer on his back is standing in front of Spirit Vale and looking at his pocket watch while other figure comes. Tiny little barbie girl in piece of soft clothing that reveals more than hides with broken wall clock in her right hand an tiny rapier in left hand. And she is looking at the tank with a smirk and says: “Heavily armoured guy who was trained to protect comrades and deflect damage? Pffff, go home, we don’t need you. See? I have a shield too.”
Sad reality of Guild Wars 2.
After trying VG for several hours 2 moths ago, I decided to craft full ascended equip to be the best prepared possible. I spent hundreds of gold on an ascended hammer, mace and shield that I would never normally have use for (because everything is DPS oriented and because exotic quality was more than enough until now), I reforged my beloved armor into knight/marauder, and spent a lot of badges of honor for those +5 power WvW infusions.
Then I started looking into how people are managing raids now, hoping that they finally learnt little gimmicks and positioning and finished their gearing up too so I could finally beat that glowy geezer without hearing it is my fault if I fail 1 attempt out of 10 while the rest of them are failed by DPS.
So yeah, I hear people got better, but on my horror, I found out some crappy mesmer took my only role in that freaking raid. I knew I wouldn’t be much welcomed on the second or the third boss, but VG was my domain. I’m the freaking tank. I was waiting for this opportunity since GW2 beta where they presented guardian with a big shield and mace and said he is a vital part of any party. If I look back, I can see the sad irony.

… onto the compost heap.
Are we going to get SAB returning shortly after?
Because lets be honest. This is the only living world update the majority of people enjoyed.
Actually, we have metrics on every LW release. While SAB was indeed successful in terms of participation, so were the other releases (Scarlet ones included). I understand that forum feedback can color perception on which releases were the most popular/best received/most enjoyed but opinions on this are largely anecdotal. Please keep that in mind.
Now to your question: will we see a return of SAB? That’s not for me to say, but if it were to come back, what would people like to see from it? Harder/easier content? New world? More/no Moto story?
Or would you like future LW releases to cover other topics? Share your thoughts, but please keep it constructive. Thanks.
Hi Bobby,
I find SAB one of the best things about GW2. However, this is not a platform game, so if you release next SAB chapter it shouldn’t be solely about SAB, but also about events impacting the game world.
Of course, you should continue Moto story, it was interesting. And I think that difficulty of World 2 was the point which you shouldn’t cross in next releases (maybe in hard mode.)
I have 2 requests for you:
1. Divide Zones into shorter areas, so people won’t have to play 2,5 hour to finish the W2Z3…
2. After finishing all four worlds of SAB, make it permanent content on your third anniversary or something.
everyone who crafted more than 1 shiny fractal capacitor wasted 250 ecto with each crafted piece…. kind of sad
I don’t like these changes either… and seeing legendaries everywhere isn’t that much great as I thought
Be discriminated by class and gear for this poorly designed raid
….or do better things with my game time? hmmm choices.
Anet doesn’t know gw2 anymore. Dungeons were never like that, neither were world bosses.Anet needs to remember GW2 has been more about employing mechanics. Hitting switches, carrying bombs, doing a combination of acts to perform a thing.
Not having the right crew to fill a meta should not even be a thing.
That is the biggest mistake and resembles WoW ideas behind raiding.
Exactly this @ArenaNet – this guy got it right!
Guys you are pretty cranky if somebody touches your stuff….sorry for being a poor guardian wanting to have fun with you.
Agree. Not very wise decision. When your design frustrates players because of something what is not their fault, not even fault of their friends in group, it is a bad decision you made.
This is how I was stuck in the final tier of Sapphire for several days. That match-making is completely broken…. After several litres of tears I finally managed to get to Ruby, since then, I lose every match in record time. The team I am in never even tries to make some kind of strategy or react on chat/map during the match. They just run straight to the point and die in less than a minute.
I tried everything and I always failed. I don’t know what to do anymore, so I guess I just consider Ruby being my final goal and say bye-bye to PVP until next league. It is just so frustrating that there is no fun in trying anymore.
Omg! They did not fix it yet?
You need to find some friendly guild. There are lots of people who are bored with GW2 and just try to help newbies.
I would really like to help you with dungeons, but I’m from EU server, so at least I will suggest you to look on wiki, read articles, learn more about the game. You can find the answer for everything there.
Knowledge crystals, walkthroughs…. anything in the game
I had the same problem…. then I realised I don’t care for some achievement points
. They are mostly grindy-like… what is not an achievement but only a to-do-list
My suggestion: stop caring too.
Are you fed up with random PUG people ruining the raids for you by not listening or leaving after one wipe?
Are you willing to learn and improve yourself?
Or maybe you have some friends for raids but not enough?
Are you playing on EU servers and can you speak English? (if you are reading this, you probably do xD)
Are you willing to adjust your build for the team?
Do you have full ascended jewelry or tokens to buy new ones if needed?
Do you have ascended weapon for your build?
If you have ascended armor and the squad needs you to fill a certain role, are you willing to reforge your armor? (Alternatively, you can just use proper full exotic armor but ascended trinkets are easy to get so these are compulsory)
Are you willing to turn on Team Speak if we find out it is too difficult to organise without it? (You don’t need to talk much)
If you can say yes to these questions and you are interested, put your ingame name here and I will invite you to the guild
When there will be enough of us there, we can decide on some time and date when we will meet in game and start progressing Spirit Vale.
Note:
1. You don’t need to represent the guild! It will be created so we can just see who is there.
2. I am willing to lead the group, but if you are keen on doing so too, then please do. I am not trying to give out orders. The more active approach each member brings, the better for the whole team.
One thing to discuss:
- Do you want to suggest a name for the guild?
- My suggestions:
[PP] Professional Puggers
[RJ] Raiders of the Jungle
[RE] Raids for Everyone
P.S. If you recognize me from some posts on this forum where I behaved impolitely, please ignore this fact. I had put this behind me, and from now on I will do my best to be 100% helpful, polite, and patient. I want to create a friendly environment in this guild, so if you are also a hothead like me, join this guild only if you are willing to behave.
))
(edited by Mortifer.2946)
LoL, OP, you must be a really bad PVPer. Have you even tried DH? Compated to some other professions he is hard AF. Any half-decent pvper will dodge the traps. Characters like scrappers can just faceroll you. Which brings me to question: have you tried playing scrapper? I did, and compared to my experience with playing DH, revenant, warrior and necro, scrapper is a total noob class. You just spam CC after CC, jump around, do ridiculous amount of damage with your homing hammer, break out of stun with a million of abilities and when you get low, you turn immortal, invisible and charge your health back to full. Rinse and repeat. DH is by far much harder character to play, and you can’t just rush into a teamfight and faceroll everyone.
Sorry I was so sceptic. I have just created the F2P account and it looks like everything will be fine. No bot spamming, no gold selling, no changes to major things in trading post. I really like it. The restriction for free players are not restricting them from enjoying all the aspects of the game…. and if they want to join the community, they can either level up their ranks and levels, or buy the game.
Bravo ArenaNet.
I don’t know if it encourages anyone to buy a little bit of gold for a large sum of real life money, but the only thing it encourages ME to do, is to stop playing. Or at least caring about raids at all… I wanted to get legendary armor so I don’t need to care about changing armors anymore. Now I have to pay several thousands of gold to get all the armors needed for raids, thus legendary armor would be good just for its skin. Not worth the effort IMO.

Thank you arenanet, after 12 months you finally lessened my gaming ego. :’( First time ever, I am not able to beat some achievement. 8 orbs are just too much.

If only people weren’t such stubborn funkilling elitists. I bet 10 thieves can achieve the same thing.
