Love this event. Easily my fave since game release. However, almost ever time I do it, there are probably 15 or 20 people just standing either at a gate or in a hidden corner. It’s pretty apparent they run in, then shrink the game to do something else, while receiving bags for doing absolutely nothing. If anything, they are keeping out players who want to actively participate.

This is a good shot of those who just get in then just stand there – and this is NOT the most I’ve seen standing there the WHOLE instance.

Please fix this!!!

I know that probably has been a post like that previously but dont get me wrong, downed state is very useful in Dungeon and generally PvE and in many occasions in WvW, but is completely annoying and useless in PvP. For example something that happened to everyone, you were dueling someone and you beat him while he`s on downed state you are trying to finish him and someone else takes advantage of your low health and defeats you and you neither got a kill or had the time to escape because you were busy FINISHING THE PREVIOUS PLAYER!!! i mean what??? and thats just one example of why downed state doesnt have place to an intense game feature such as PvP! Anet if you want your game to have at least a chance in Esports little things like that, have to change!

After over a minute (a VERY long time in pvp) of getting a player down, finally, and just about to “fishish” him, and another player stops me as I am ALREADY into the finishing move.

I don’t understand and it doesn’t seem logical that I am in the position of killing, already past up, on my way down and I am stopped by a player who doesn’t do a darned thing but hit me once?

WHAT THE HECK!?!

I agree!!! Get RID of the downed state in PVP, the mechanic doesn’t belong.

Don’t be ridiculous. We are literally getting a patch coming in that is full of things asked for. Including differing colored commander tags.

Not one of us made a single suggestion to make this a moneywall rather than a quality of life change that was desperately needed.

Levels? No.

Colors? Yes.

Taking an idea given to the devs by the WvW community and doing this to our idea is a horrid slap in the face of all those who pour heart and soul into WvW.

Now the guilds will be even more reclusive and not community minded.

You aren’t getting how horrid this will be – nothing short of the megaserver will do as much damage to WvW as demoralizing costs that most can’t hope to get reasonably in casual play must now wait months to accomplish ; I am NOT a casual player and I know that some are great at playing the market but most are gatherers and are holding their own buying superior siege.

Anet, you are going to make the next MMO that has three sided warfare (with capture the flag, capture the island and other diversions that help keep the game fresh) look amazingly tantilizing with this bad choice of 300 gold per level for a commander’s tag.

300 gold… those who have money will just buy one.

We already can’t play “like we want” in many ways…

Those who are poor in real life will have to grind and you promised there would be no grinding in this game – you promised.

Badges for Tomes of Knowledge?

sPvP players don’t get experience by playing in it. In WvW, players gain experience from events and killing things.

I’m not saying it’s a bad idea, just pointing out that the two don’t really compare.

Maybe some of us are confused.

Not long ago it was said that the scrolls were being removed from PvP – I don’t mind the PVP time but not being able to get them any other way (as we did in the last even, which was awesome) is going to hurt some players who just don’t like to PvP.

Allie, if I had known about WvW at the inception of the game – understood what it was, strategy, ego (by the truckload!) trust, hard work and a darn way to make gold when done correctly… I’d not have spent my first 8 months in PvP almost exclusively and been far more knowledgeable about WvW…

I think the problem isn’t that ANet missed the point. The Guild Mag video quite clearly shows they understand the purpose of having different colours.

No no no. The devs understand the point, but ANet as a whole does not. Like always, the pricetag came likely directly from their economy/monetization department, but due to kitten poor in-company communication and them blatantly ignoring the wishes of the (WvW) playerbase the particularly anti-player nature of this pricetag is particularly magnified. They are forgetting this isn’t some purely cosmetic legendary weapon or armor skin, this is a oft requested QoL feature.

For those of us who learn by doing and not by videos, not by the game “showing” us, this is devastating.

For all those with literal brain damage – this game was hard enough – with the new changes you add a level of confusion and more that we did not need at all.

Wow, a whole one more elite that I have to choose over another.

Wow, a traiting system that is more than confusing, it’s harder to get through and harder to change from if you go down the wrong one??

Wow, “mats” for “tomes” and “skill points” that we sweated our hearts and souls out to get and keep for future use????

Wow, not making impossible mats available (*ahem ask anyone making a legendary how to get lodestones – any lodestones! and several other mats that are just about impossible – grind, grind, grind, grind, grind.)

Wow, not listening to players when you ask for our opinions and then throwing the lot of us under a literal bus.

And I’m not the only one, those of use who knew this would blew up sat there and watched that stream and confirmed it first hand how much it ruins diversity.

Like 2% of the whole overhaul for each profession was justified while the other 98% was a complete funeral service to a vast majority of builds mine and many others just got buried in an unwanted grave.

Example they are over forcing theirs to focus on dodging a ton and or stealing for an unwanted amount of extra stealth while mesmers are being shoehorned into being ranged damage dealers who HAVE TO SHATTER regardless of preference unless they roll a hard phantasm build and took away another vital trait from a vast majority of mesmer builds AGAIN

engis already had a blast problem for might stack and invis but now they gonna unload gatling style with it while guards are gonna become heavy mobile tanks more so then usual.

I could go on but I’m not going to, by the time they got past mesmer I felt like I was gonna puke at how bad this was and even worse its gonna hit us before hot does.

So yes big fat I told you so’s all around because a countless many of us knew this 3 line lock was a bad idea.

KILLED WvW Guilds

You guys have killed WvW Guilds
What we have upgraded previously, specifically the +5 Supply Capacity, that can be easily gotten by Lvl2 Art of War upgrade, now requires us to have a Rank 37 guild to do that.
Where is the logic in this?
Something easily obtained in the previous version is now going to be a grindwars2 to get to.
Not to mention that this +5 Supply is as essential now than it has ever been, because of the EXTREMELY LARGE Desert Borderland Maps that now, a 5-man group (in lower tiers) you have to run out and back again, at least 4 times to get the supply you need to actually make something happen on a keep/tower that auto-upgrades to fortify without anyone pushing a button to make it happen.

IT IS JUST A NIGHTMARE!

Also – the upgrades are CRAZY! Needs too much exp grinding farming etc!

Please bear in mind that there are people that play this game only for WvW Purpose and not the PVE aspect. And so, having been brought out of my preferred gameplay, to farm for materials for these upgrades to get sheeeeeet that we need in WvW… is just… i would say, tasteless, not so well thought out, and quite frankly STUPID.

The issue with Random Invasions

After spending two days only needing Mount Maelstrom, the issue with the randomness – spesifically why it’s such a pain – has become obvious to me.

I cannot commit to anything else except for Guild Wars.

For example, I want to go out somewhere. I did that on day one, and missed Mael.
I want to watch a movie – Have to keep checking the clock so I can log in every hour to check.
I want to play Dota – Can’t, matches are too long and I might miss the event.

Even though it only takes a few minutes to check, the fact that the game has taken over my entire day without me actually playing it has really become a burden.

If there was a rotation, it would totally solve this – I’d just go on when i knew it was that event, and could happily spend my day doing things.
So far, Maelstorm has appeared just before I got up twice, and just after I went to sleep once. Considering there are 13 maps, having these on rotation for a week puts all of them in a 2hr slot. It’s impossible to be unlucky and miss out due to only being during the night.

Plus, we’ve had nothing but dupes of the last 10 hours for the last 5, it’s getting dumb.

I have the same issue – can’t possibly get the maps done, they are repeating close together for ones we already have (three times in four hours, come on!) and not knowing which maps are done is part of this mess and problem.

You aren’t the only one saying it and this is about the fourth thread about this same subject.

The whole event was slapped together without much thought as to how people were going to live their lives and get 13 maps too.

Anet isn’t reading the forums at all from what I can see.

Badges for Tomes of Knowledge?

Definetely, the old Maps need to get a Buff on Badges..
Remove im the badges from the Jumping Puzzle Chests, improve theirfore the rewards you can get fro mthese chests and then definetely raise the badge rates from killing Camp Guards and add to the Loot from killing Keep/Castle/Tower Champs the Badles.

Also give the Street Guards a small chance to reward you with a small amount of badges, so that Roamers also have a better way of gettign badges.

Rewards for WvW in general need to be improved:

  • add Tomes of Experience for Badges to gain +1 Level/Skill Points for like 125 Badges per Tome.
    That would make for a Level 80 Character from scrath = 10000 Badges of Honor.
    I think thats an appropriate amount, when you see, that there are players with like nearly 25000 Badges that don’t know, what to do all with them and which would like to make quickly a new Alt, thats instantly ready to WvW with Max Level for example.
    And I thin, someone who plays WvW so much, to have gained so many Badges of Honor, relly deserves it to have a quicker way to level up quickly a new Alt Character with them
  • Ya we know, soon we will get those awesome Hero and Mistforged Weapons that will cost also Badges, but I think thats not enough.
    We get Mistforged Weapon,s then there should be also fitting Armor Sets of the same style, like these Weapons
  • Add the Option to by Traps also with badges of Honor, add alot more new Trap Types..seriously, do you think just 2 Traps is enough?? I think you can be more creative, than to give us only 2 Trap Types to play with …
  • Add unique Finishers that can’t be bought from TP, that you can earn only via playing WvW (the Tourny ones from last time are a joke, if they aren’t permanent!!)
  • Add more Skins of existing Weapon/Armor Sets to the rewards for Badges of Honor
  • Add unique Tonic/ Minipets as rewards for Badges of Honor.
  • Add special WvW specific only Healing/Utility/Elite Skills that you have to unlock with Badges of Honor and having reached certain WvW Ranks
  • Add Options to convert Badges of Honor into Karma or into WvW Exp-Boosters
  • Add as unique reward a new Rune Set that can be bought with Badges of Honor only, which has the unique effect of making your Equipment undestructable
  • Add far more WvW Infusions into the Game (if a Rune Set for undestructable Equipment is no good idea, then instead an Infusion for that!)
  • Let us earn with Badges of Honor some new unique for WvW Town Clothes/Costumes, which can be used also in Combat/ for Costume Brawls

So many options to reward players better in WvW and so less potential gets used so far … so less, that you must start to believe, its on purpose, so that ANet always keeps all options open for later Expansions to ensure, that not all trump cards get played out too quickly …

Roamers access to badges is sadly nil.

Being alone on a map should not stop game progression but it does.

Lions Arch needs more...personality

Everyone hears them.

Most are tired of the same old lines from the NPCs in Lion’s Arch.

How about doing something pretty darn simple;

Every single NPC that DOES talk could be talked to but only a chance of having them be willing to trade.

Yes , trade.

Take for example the poor merchant in the Black Lion’s Trading Post – everyday he asks for Charr Iron so he can fulfill orders from pretty darn desperate customers, but yet day after day, month after month and now year after year, this poor merchant whom we have all heard (unless we have turned off dialog in our sound options – sadly) and all have either gotten tired of hearing it OR like ME you are wanting to help so much it really hurts.

Anet – time to give Lion’s Arch life – I believe that ALL NPCs that DO and CAN talk be willing to, once in a while, trade or talk to us or even gamble with us – so many little mini activities can be added and they can be chance driven.

It would add a fun twist to a what can become a very static experience in Lion’s Arch.

Commander’s Color should be based on experience. There should be a leveling system in place for Commanders..maybe based on Points captured, time commanding, kills accrued.

I have absolutely no problem with this, buy the tag it has a base color to show you are a new commander (say white), as you progress through ranks/leveling as a commander other colors are unlocked, it would give players at a glance an idea of the level of a commanders experience, of course it might penalize new commanders in some ways but we have times when no commander is present on the map that a new commander can get his feet wet and gain exp but we’d have to separate it somehow from EotM.

Unlocking by level (WvW level) would have made FAR more sense.

Unlocking isn’t a paywall – and it’s fair to those who have the “Platinum” tag – they EARNED IT.

I’ve been a computer geek and professional for a very long time with gaming being my hobby and source of social interaction (military families, orphans and others who have little to no connections in real life will be able to relate…), it’s unkind in the extreme for any company to take a very good idea, one that was needed but not thought of, and make it into their idea of a golden goose.

Gamers are ever looking for a better MMO – and we are all looking Anet.

You are good – very, very good, but you have ignored our pleas over so many issues and even tech support that isn’t tech support who tells us “start over”, “we don’t have access to the database” and “prove you lost xxxx” even though the database is on the server side not the client side.

It’s time for you to stand by your word Anet… you promised we could play like we want to – ergo we gave you a brilliant and simple idea – and you broke our trust – again.

Tomes of knowledge

Please please please stop giving tomes of knowledge in WvW. Please give us something more useful from the reward tracks and dailies. Siege maybe? Yes I know you can make siege from spirit shards and get spirit shards from tones, but that is extra work I’d like to pass on.

What we can get is useless for most of us. Tomes, Spirit Shards, even a plethora of Obsidian Shards BUT…

What we can not get – LAURELS – almost impossible to get how about a way to convert such an imbalance of false loot to things that are useful like Laurels?

No, that’s not an issue at all. That Level3 is a router is simply ignoring ICMP traffic. As long as the packet makes it to the final destination with a reasonable latency (64.25.40.114 in this case), you’re almost certainly fine (*see asymmetric paths below).

ICMP is very low priority (and usually rate-limited) for most routers and handled by a rather slow CPU, rather than the ASICs that handle your bog standard network traffic. Don’t expect a low latency or reliable ping to any specific network device. Again, as long as your final destination is reliable with acceptable latency, you’re good to go.

Look at pages 33 through 36. It’s also important to note page 38, but there’s nothing you can do about the return path — it would be up to NCSoft to traceroute to you.

That said, if you contact ANet support, they’ll have you run WinMTR. They’ll base conclusions about latency and “packet loss” on unrelated network devices, e.g. Level3 equipment, but this is just a misunderstanding of the results traceroute/WinMTR is showing us. Again, as long as the final destination packet loss/latency is fine, you’re golden (again as long as that asymmetric path is a non-issue).

Anet as a whole needs to understand that having Level 3 in their networking path is a death knell for all gamers.

We just have to remember that WvWxp consolidation just isn’t as important or easy to do as simply doing away with Glory entirely and implementing a whole new system in it’s place.

Please post your reports of issues with HoT in this thread. That will allow our teams to review your reports and deal with them as promptly at possible.

Four crashes in three hours. Three out of four were taking a tower in EB in WvW.

The other really bad glitch was the Supervisor of a camp – we killed it but strangely it also allowed us to rez it.. thereafter the camp could not be flipped and the Supervisor was killing his own guards.

Anet?

What really upsets me after spending $100 for the expansion is the fact that we were lied to.

Not that we “gained” a map, you just replaced a map – that’s not adding to WvW, that’s just making it ugly without leaving the really eye-soothing snow-covered areas.

The supply menu isn’t available to anyone outside large guilds?

The guards and NPCs have been buffed yet again – buffed since we no longer have “stacks” to help us mitigate their 81-82 levels (same strength as any in the Silverwastes who are rated 82 – ridiculous we aren’t as powerful).

It would have made far more sense to add life to WvW compared to the other modes since we aren’t going against “dumb” npcs who can’t path, these are humans and ergo skill versus numbers – we don’t get a chance to exhibit ANY skill.

Crash, Crash, Crash and yet more crashes and confusing changes that aren’t making much sense.

Wondering if the beta we all thought was being tested was ever tested past the weekend events at all.

Why No Real Answers?

I am being asked for test after test for several different issues – I have at least two open tickets.

I am MISSING at least one dye (Silver).

Please figure out what is wrong with some of our accounts/database, please!

I was forced into putting in trouble tickets after trying to get answers in the forums – and now I am being forced into “tests” for my computer (two so far) that don’t do a thing with the issues I have raised in my tickets.

Trouble ticketing is not a friendly process in this game – and the people who answer them are not very good at reading the base issue and they never answer questions. Ever.

Apparently those who do the email support aren’t able to do a thing or even see the problem – they are going off secondhand or thirdhand information – been there, done that, computer professional who has done this type of trouble ticketing for over a decade.

If the people who are doing the “trouble tickets” aren’t close to the datebase and there are several more “layers” to get any real database issues solved, something is very wrong.

I don’t see any Anet players any longer – haven’t in over six months. And it’s showing in the game – if those "customer service " persons played on the servers that their problems were on, they’d be able to do more.

I am a computer professional who has always found better processes make for a more secure workplace and a happier clientele.

Losing dyes that many might not even notice is happening and no one is helping.

The “cut and pasted” answers are redundant or don’t even address the problem the person put the trouble ticket in for.

I think a solution to this would be to port to scarlet’s lair entrance as it is just out of range of her gun.

I think a 10 second invulnerability when teleporting in would be a solid solution as well since she very well may have fired at someone standing by that door.

Most of the players are downed when they enter into the Scarlet part of the quest…

That negates skill and builds in failure – I am sure that was not the intention of going into the instance…

In reality, we would use shields, armor and mitigation going into that area but not one of our skills or armor help?

Something is very wrong if we are supposed to be the heroes of Tyria… Pretty weak “hero”.

I wouldn’t even complain about grinding the hero points if they were at least
soloable and don’t need a group .. and also don’t give any reward to players that
already made them, so nobody is interested helping you.

The game isn’t “solo-able” at all.

Many know that big rewards and baddest bosses are only for large groups – all small groups are out of luck as are small guilds of one, two or ten.

Tracker - Living World/Game Update Bugs

Neither this thread or its successor are maintained any longer.

And they say the game is being cared for properly.

WvW hasn’t had any of its bugs fixed and new glitches are showing up all the time now.

The database in Guild Wars 2 is becoming corrupted and they know it.

If they don’t start going back to the beginning of the game when things actually worked in beta it’s going to become much worse.

This and other bug lists are going without any comment when we can clearly see that earlier in the game there were more responses and those are apparently too much for the game to handle now?

Not a good “state of the game” when bugs are completely ignored.

One user had to video the darn error before anyone here would even bother to respond.

So I’m a newbie and looking for some advice of things to consider before having a bash at world v world

Thanks!

Be willing to block those who disparage others and who don’t add to the teamwork at hand.

You will find that some of the most maligned people in the game are the ones who do a lot of the work.

Be willing to break from the zerg when appropriate if you find others willing to take a camp or tower away from the main force; getting two properties at once rather than one will benefit your server.

Be willing to use synergistic builds in groups – example: As a Ranger I have a shared water field and healing finisher that benefits a group around me – I also add fury and might – and in turn the boons I receive give me the power and conditions I need to stay up with heavies and even help them up when they fall in a field battle.

Most of all WvW is a community – a living breathing community – find those who are like yourself, who support you, play at the same time you do, and who find the fun in being the “wreckers” of the enemy and taking away their candyland camps/towers/keeps ftw.

Mouse Cursor Color Change Option

As a person who LOSES the CURSOR half of the game – really, I can’t see where it is – it impacts my gameplay enormously.

Half the time I am wiggling my mouse to FIND it.

Yes, I’ve asked before, may we PLEASE have options to find the mouse cursor easier and make it custom colors – some colors are easier seen than other for DIFFERENT people.

My heart is already broken and I never even played GW1. It must really suck for you guys that loved GW1. I hear many good things about it that I am very close to buying the whole thing on steam….and switching to it….even on solo…at least maybe I get a bit of story out of it….because 2k hours of GW2 and I still have no clue what is going on….

I am with you. The continuity of the game, the lag at these megaevents in the beginning, the falloff when everyone gets their achievements and then the utter disregard for the lore of the game that drew everyone to it is just getting old.

I think the below screen caps you gave earlier…they’re gates into objectives.

These aren’t jumping puzzles though…they’re short cut routes in the new map.

For those with one eye, eye problems, dizziness issues and more, the addition of a jumping anything in WvW is the biggest mistake and seemingly patterned after such things as the holes in the ground that no one can really see no matter what camera angle you’re in – ahem Skyhammer.

Where did they put the fun in WvW?

Dunno, think they decided it was better to stress all players out and have massive blob mentality rule all.

Forget skill, it never was about skill.

Forget about multiple avenues of strategy.

Skill and strategy are about to be yesterday’s news, whatever there was of it in WvW will now be terminally ended.

Does anybody here see the logic in this?
I don’t see how this improves WvW at all. How, for example, does this tweak make weaker sides more competitive (in PPT terms, ofc)?

Nothing we say that should go straight to the Devs is getting through to anyone who cares about WvW.

Read the Wind is excellent for longbow. I tried it and am really enjoying it. “dodge this”

I am however of opinion that either Read the Wind, Eagle Eye or Piercing Arrows should be default behavior. The competition is rather high on Marksmanship and rather non-existing on Skirmishing.

Oh no, the horrors… you need to choose between traits, the kittening horrors…

@ everyone complaining about our Grand Master Traits, you’ve clearly haven’t used them yet, they’re all awesome, RTW makes our arrows impossible to side step and it’s absolutely glorious, it’s like using a gun!

Not to mention Poison Master, Survival of the Fittest and Invigorating Bound may be the greatest things since sliced bread, I mean sure we’ve got scum bag striders defense over there in the skirmishing tree being “meh” but as for all the others they’re all amazing.

Poison master also affect pet abilities. Tested it earlier.

Just sayin.

Both of you need to get with the program. Don’t you read these forums? Apparently you don’t since everyone says this patch was a massive nerf to the Ranger class….and a major boost to every other class.

This forums only reasonings to why we got shafted is “I want read the wind base line!” And “poison master isn’t a damage boost because poison increasing in damage isn’t as good as if bleed increased in damage.” Aka very bad, arguments, from likely bad rangers.

If anything we got buffed THE MOST out of every single other profession because our pets now work.

You tie in the grand master traits (which are all amazing with the exception of Striders defense) and there’s no way anyone got as big of improvements as us. Not to mention we benefit from the sigil and rune changes greatly and because of how they work and our inherent versatility got a surge of roles opening up from a change not even targeting us specifically.

And before some idiot says, “but Durz warriors got those too!” Warriors don’t have easy access to every condi minus confusion, blind, and torment, warriors don’t have 100% uptime with 3 (arguably 4 with sword/dagger as an option) of their weapons due to being ranged, warriors don’t have nearly as much SUSTAINED damage as us, etc.

A ranger going for damage went from pretty scary, to absolutely horrifying in one patch, a GOOD ranger is capable of just out controlling, and out damaging people now due to these pet changes.

You mean your pet works…

Needing to hit the F2 key six times to make it proc isn’t fixed. Sorry.

I’ve been running zerk bearbow for a while and I really like it,but I want to try something new with which I can tag more people in the zerg,because with my build I can get like 25-30 kills max in a blob fight.Looking for good tanky build with good condi dmg for blob fights.Thank you in advance.

You aren’t the only one looking for a build like this.

My Ranger does 1800 condi damage while doing about 2850 armor, decent toughness but I am still getting downed in a fights 1v1 with mesmers (insane damage), thieves (heartseeker – is there NO counter???) and the occasional necro…

Rangers are wonderful, but they take some dedication to learn their skills and I am still learning and trying to find others who are willing to impart…

One thing I have noticed is that sometimes people (including me) will adjust their graphics settings and not realize they have made permanent changes This is because the game continues to draw existing characters at the old setting and only new characters get the new higher (and potentially slower) setting. Then they map travel and suddenly the game is slower because all of the characters (players and NPCs) have been loaded at the new, higher graphics level setting. But it’s not obvious that the earlier setting change caused things to run slower later. We could “fix” this by doing a big graphics refresh every time you change a setting. That might annoy players but eliminate this problem. -prefereset will also ‘fix’ this problem by resetting your graphics settings which might be what you experienced.

I get lag with an ssd drive, an extremely fast internet connection and graphics settings set all the way to low.

The excuses keep rolling.

It’s not us.

It’s the pipe that is being given to us that isn’t wide enough to allow for spikes at all.

The current evade system of dodging for 100% damage reduction in PvE makes DPS the only stat that matters. Support, defensive, etc stats are meaningless since the damage caused by NPC attacks is death regardless if you have 3000 more hit points, heal 25% more, etc. The only option is to kill the NPC faster with more DPS which is the current PvE berserker meta for all classes.

Giving players token abilities such as bonus vitality/hit points, 25% more healing, etc is not addressing the primary issue. The only way to make defensive and support stats mean anything is if they are required to complete PvE content. The most straight forward way to achieve this would be to make successful dodges reduce direct damage by half instead of the current full damage reduction.

Um….no.

This makes no sense at all. Dodging either works or it doesn’t.

there should be no tier in the first place. even if there is, should not have been made public . match up should be random since the beginning.

but, alas, damage has been done. people flocked to winning servers. wvw is screwed forever.

If tiers were “random” then your server CD would have a chance of facing a current top tier server, that would be incredibly boring for everyone involved. Tiers allow for competitive play, your server will eventually stabilize in its correct tier. “Removing tiers” is not an option xD

Top tier is just coverage not competitive. would love to trash some garbage t1 guilds.

They will just throw numbers on you. That’s what T1 guilds are about. That when they aren’t 3-4 guild groups walking holding hands.

Just as an aside, YB misses its best link partner so far.

Meta Shift - Deadeye zerg

I did some research and discovered an upcoming meta for WvW. With the Deadeye skills, a full zerg can pin snipe effectively, and wipe out enemies from a distance. What you have is 30 Berzerker Deadeyes and some boon strippers/stun lockers on voice comms. After your Commander marks the target, you boon strip and stun lock first, then everyone kneels and fires. The target enemy dies instantly. Between shots, your stealth squad will cast Shadow Refuge and hide your entire zerg. 10 players can hide up to 50! While in stealth, you move to prepare for the next spike.

This spike strategy was very popular in GW1 PvP. And thanks to Deadeye, it will make a come back.

Hi guys!

Because there is an Ex Pack on the horizon , i thought " Lets make some money for it"

Everybody is talking about the Afk Farms ( Doric turret farm and Bittefrost Nec Farm) but nobody could really tell me how much g/h you make there.

So i gave it a try and this are the results. (see pic below)
I also took a pic from a normal silverwaste run to compare.

Note: I did not kill anything myself at the Doric Farm. Only Turret kills.

So basically you upscale the events without participation and reap benefits from cheating.

This is a bad idea. WvW doesn’t need more PvE achievement farmers. WvW is rewarding in many other ways and loot and achievement points are not one of those….

You’re not seeing new WvW players as such, you are seeing them as PvE’ers again.

We’re talking about getting more people in WvW permanently and making it far more appealing to those who DO pve far more now than they WvW…

i demand an answer for the questions below, because am thinking of quitting the game for good because the game is getting really stale. and you are 100% turned a deaf ear for all thousands of players who played the game.

Absolutely one of the most constructive postings in months.

I started a mesmer (yep, my main is….you guessed it a Ranger) and we don’t have enough points (as players) in spvp no where NEAR enough points as players – it’s over too fast and the lockouts are incorrect for “pvp”.

We need serious changes before a mass exit such as has been seen in many MMOs when the devs refuse to listen, or in this case, tell us one thing and deliver another , over and over – month after month.

End game is why most of us are here – and the “end game” on a simple $20 game is pulling players left and right – and it’s not even an MMO, but it does have end game content that is as good as its previous iterations.

All we are asking is that you pay attention to the end game – spvp and WvW have sadly been given a shove into the back seat and we see the ‘events’ month after month as our hopes are shattered each and every month – that does damage to the psyche of game players – game fatigue follows then we find another MMO that WILL do what is promised.

We aren’t asking for that much – it’s in the interest of the game and the players that we are asking for these necessary and long awaited changes.

Oh and tonight – in spvp my default keybinds 1-0 kept going “away” and I couldn’t hit a single one…

The game is losing its integrity – please bring it back to us as it was promised, not as it is now.

We all adore the game, but the end game and the state of the pvp at all is just not as good as GW1 from every single player whom I’ve talked to – and they bemoan the change all the time.

Pets have too little HP in PvP

Since the smoke scale change today, I have swapped out the Smokescale (22k hp) for the Tiger. (15k hp) What I have noticed is that my tiger dies extremely fast to random AoE. SS wasn’t great, but that extra HP made a difference.

15k hp for dogs and cats was fine pre HoT, but the new elite specializations combined with the condi changes make for an extreme amount of AoE damage in the current meta. 15k hp literally disappears in a couple of seconds without the pet ever being targeted by anything.

IMO all pets should have their base HP buffed by 20 or 30% in PvP. This would put their survivability on par with pre HoT.

Try WvW where 50% of the life is gone before you enter EB or the Borderlands.

Anet isn’t thinking clearly at all on many mechanics, but this one , along with the venerable f2 that almost never works;

AND the new one where staff only hits one foe rather than the three it says it does in the tool tip

All proof we are not getting what we paid for at all.

Anet needs to fix the game in respect to Rangers – really fix, not ignore for three years.

Hi,

I rarely post on the forums, i’m much more of a reader. However, just minutes ago something happened to me that made me really frustrated.

I’ll keep it short.
I got into a CoE party and all went fine. Soon i got into some disagreement with another player about how to do the dungeon, i backed down because i had no intention in discussions and just went with his plan of action.

Soon this escalated when 3 of our party (myself included) wanted to skip the Champion troll, since that’s possible. The other two insisted we did this. I told them to go ahead but we we’re gonna skip it. They replied with “little kitten”.
After that, they intentionally lured the troll upon us and votekicked us out.

tl;dr

I’m kitten ed because i spend 25 minutes in a dungeon being called names and being provoked, and i end up getting kicked for staying polite and mature about the whole thing, even after being called names.

How am i as a generally kind, mature and serious player supposed to do anything about this? I do realize that this is rare. But this is seriously something that i would like to have resolved, and i think this is a worth a multiple report. For verbal abuse, trolling and in some sense, scamming.

I am griefed every time I say I am a Ranger – 99% will ask me if I ‘have another character’.

The sheer meanness of some people who want to control others is just getting awful.

I caught a few hackers on video, and reported them using the in-game tool. They just came back the next match, nothing happened to them, so I posted a video too, identifying them; I thought it might help find and punish them. The post was deleted and I got an infraction.

That’s when I realised that it all must have been a big misunderstanding. There are no hackers in this game. Why waste time on negativity and harboring black thoughts when we could be checking out the latest great promotions at the gem store? There’s a new Mini Beetle that you can have follow you around for just 500 gems.

These snipers one shot my mesmer every time i come across them, they need a bit of toning down imo. It’s especially bad when there’s more than one of them, it’s insta death, not fun.

Darn. A skill that can finally kill the Mesmer who can kill three or five if left to their old builds and devices.

Now you will have to dodge just like the rest of us and maybe lose – again, darn.

Too bad that doesn’t happen in WvW…

The “new” WvW map isn’t new and it is disorenting, nausea producing and WvW world destroying just as much as the “megaserver” destroyed smaller servers and helped the larger ones.

Geeze louise, will no one listen – this isn’t a map, it’s a rehash of EOTM with other elements thrown in from other existing maps.

If it were new and not tilted and not what Wv W community as a whole begged not to be in WvW, that would be cause for great rejoicing, but this?

This isn’t what we begged for. This isn’t WvW. It will harm WvW, not boost it.
