Would be nice to see this going more. A nice change from Frostgorge.
We found all the Champs were also too hard to solo or do with below 5 people. This made the train hard to interrupt.
I don’t know about you, but I can solo at least 6 of the champions on that route, and used to do so on a fairly regular basis. I could probably solo the champion giant too if I had enough AoE to consistently kill the grubs.
You’re a master of the Universe. Congrats.
^ And yet, there will always be players who go to a new area and think, “How can I squeeze the most money out of this?”
I suggested this back in the day when the “Suggestion” forum wasn’t in “Archive” along with many, many others.
There is more than enough room for it on the “Roster” page. Something like:
Last Online: 1-day ago.
I really can’t understand why this hasn’t been put in already, for these 2 monumental reasons:
1. Timers already exist in the Trading post under “Item’s I’m Selling” it tells you when you added the item to the TP.
2. It was in GW1.
So we KNOW it is do-able! Why are we now over a year down the line and it still has not been added in?
I’m sure all Guild leaders will agree that it is a complete nightmare keeping track of active vs inactive members and currently I am being forced to “Purge” pretty much every other month as the guild quickly fills up and I have no idea who is active and who is not… With 500-members you’re almost asking guild leaders to give up their lives to monitor activity within a guild. Which ultimately can be fixed with a simple adding of code which you already have in both GW1 and GW2… Granted they may not be 100% accurate. But even a rough outline of inactivity time is better than nothing and if ANET were to do it and specify that it is in BETA then they would have no problems from players as they will understand it isn’t perfect.
All I want to see is members who have been offline for more than 2-weeks and if that was the case I would assume they were inactive and kick them from the guild so that I could invite more people.
Without the hassle of creating a “Purge” rank and then having to put near on 300-members into the rank and then monitor the Guild, almost around the clock to remove them when they get online.
Each purge takes me roughly about 2-3 weeks to complete… ANET PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, sort this out. It’s kinda ruining my time in-game and it’s not exactly a big ask!
dervish has been absorbed into guardian.
actually few GW1 classes has been absorbed into GW2 classes.
i think guardian = dervish + paragon
Incorrect, not a single dervish skill correlates directly to guardians in anyway, Guardians are more Mo/P than any other combination. Ultimately more monk than anything.
I dunno what the point is can someone tell me?
The point is that they have skins which some people enjoy looking at. If you think a Legendary is pretty enough to be worth all the trouble of getting one, go get one. If you don’t like how they look, don’t get one.
treadmill, of being in that obvious pattern of every time I catch up you are going to
put another carrot in front of me” – Mike O’Brien right before Ascended weapons
Really? 30 days to craft a set of armor. I’m a pretty active player, but, seriously, 30 days to craft a set of armor. It takes longer to craft a set of celestial armor than it does to craft all the legendary weapons in the game.
If you didn’t know, you need 5 charged crystals per piece of armor.
Celestial armor is dead to me. Sorry, but it is. It is a sad day.
If it makes you feel any better, Celestial armor was dead long before today. It is only marginally useful for two classes, and even for them there are better options. Overall it is the worst armor set in the game, so you aren’t missing anything by skipping it.
I actually agree, I have even stopped opening the “unidentified” dyes, because of this. It’s just too annoying to have a dye for one character but not for others.
I dont know if it’s even possible now with their core code. :/
Okay, firstly, I know this has come up before, but I haven’t seen it in a while and I’m revisiting it. Secondly, and more importantly, I think this would make ANet money. Thirdly, WXP is supposed to be made account bound soon, so this isn’t unprecedented.
I like collecting things, as do many players. If dyes were account bound, then I would collect them, it would have been a goal from the start (it actually WAS a goal from the start, including only using unidentified dyes to do so, until I realised they were character bound). If I was collecting dyes, then I would also invest money in gem store dyes (I’d even enjoy the luck factor, to a degree). In short, while I represent one player, by making dyes character bound, you have stopped me spending money in the gem store.
My solution:
1) Make unlocked dyes account bound.
2) Where an account has more than one of that any specific dye unlocked, mail one (or more if necessary) unused dye to their account. If the mail system can’t cope, introduce an NPC to do the job.
3) If (2) is impossible, then implement (1) anyway, and deal with cases where people owned many of the same expensive dyes individually via tickets, as was done with Flamekissed Armour. I believe a lot more players would be happy with the change than upset, and those that were upset could be appeased relatively easily in most cases.
Results:
1) People start collecting dyes, people buy more dyes with gems.
2) Specific dyes become more sought after, raising prices.
3) People only need one of each, balancing out (2).
4) A new type of activity has been introduced to the game for players with alts (dye collecting), making the game more fun for them.
I am fairly sure around 99% of the player base thinks the dredge fractal is stupid and needs to be changed (speculation here)
I am also fairly sure that we will never see a live stream of the devs playing a 40+ dredge fractal, its because they can’t do it, they would end up spending several hours failing the first console part then probably end the stream, thus, they wont do it.
It’ll probably cost gems and be a consumable. Permanent one extremely rare drop in bl chests.
It would be nice if the ability to save and store various trait and utility templates easily in game so you can quickly switch between them.
Sort of how you could save the skill combinations in GW 1
To “grind” is to play with very little fun or amusement.
Just because it will take “effrort” and “time” to achieve the needed WXP to level to what you desire, in no way, is that a “grind” to do so.
I love WvW. This new system is just another layer of WvW loveliness!
Good job Dev’s!
50% bonus to supplies is awesome, no matter how hard to achieve. What did you expect?
A 30 man zerg with +2 supplies can built e.g. 2 more arrowcarts with it. IMO this is great without being overpowered.
I thought it was 300 WXP levels.
Weapon drop rates weren’t lowered from what I understood of the patch notes. Drop rates were increased, with armor rates increased even more than weapon rates.
Dunno how anyone can claim ANet isn’t giving fractals attention when they released a massive update to it just a couple of months back.
All the more reason never to grind for that garbage
Maybe I will buy a legendary on the tp one day.
“Otherwise, your MMO becomes all about grinding to get the best gear. We don’t make grindy games.”

Legendary weapons don’t even feel legendary.
You wanna wield a legendary weapon, you have to do more than gather mats, walk around the map and do a couple dungeon runs.
I for one think making a WvW rank 30 minimum is a great idea.
you are aware that the triple wurm event is what is called an open world RAID right ?
as such it is designed with meta builds in mind and made as hard as possible to beat using mentioned meta builds, now imagine trying to beat that kind of content with your idea of fun build? from that perspective I say if you wanna run your cookie have fun build don’t go trying to join a RAID !
Not that it means much, considering GW2’s rigid skill system means that “playing your way” means playing your way out of a very small selection of options.
IT WORKS AS IT WAS INTENDED TO STIMULATE GEM PURCHASES. Which is fair by me. But yes it still works and it will always work.
I recently started playing GW2 over the last week from a break of over a year, and I do admit I was surprised when I saw that there were still no mounts in this game.
I know that some people will argue that there is no need for mounts when you can port from place to place.
But I think the developers are missing out big time, on a huge potential for profits for themselves. Great new content for the players, and overall a great new incentive that will increase the sales of the game.
I am certain that selling unique mounts for gems would be the #1 best seller in the gem store.
The ideas below are just a few off the top of my head that would make mounts fun & useful for both the player and developer.
-Pay gems to buy the rarest.
-When you ride them for a few seconds have them buff you.
-Make some of them fly. That’s right, make them fly.
-Customize your mounts with Dye, Armor, and a New craft Breeding.
-New Mount related Craftsmanship.
-End Game Achievements to earn them. (Dungeons, Raids or Crafting)
-More incentives for players to keep playing.
-Aesthetically more pleasing to the eye than just running on two legs.
There are a lot more reasons for mounts to be implemented, but those were just a few.
Now hear me out on this, because I haven’t seen this next part done in an MMO before.
Breeding for Mounts
What if having two of one species of mount could unlock a Breeding craft that anyone could take up in addition to their current crafts.
Then with enough time and skill, breeders could create unique mini’s and unique colored mounts they could keep for themselves or sell to other players.
They would use dye and food crafted in cooking to influence the color of their mounts in the breeding craft. Being able to customize mounts with armor, and breeding would would add a unique feature to Guild Wars 2 that would pull in more players.
There are really so many ideas that can be implemented to a system that uses mounts.
I think it’s about time for ArenaNet to consider it.
Hi ArenaNet,
I love the new Cute Quaggan Finisher but I just stomped some people with it and it didnt give me any Watchwork Sprockets.
Is that working as intended?
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
It is rather unlikely that the devs are part of the group that high level Fractals are aimed at, and thus this is a rather silly request.
Is it unreasonable, though, to expect developers to be able to win their own game?
Can you guys do it and record so we can learn how to do it after all the fixes?
Gift of Battle. (Battle not required.)
Sounds like a punch-line waiting to happen.
You don’t say!! <3
So I guess the message is . . . get it while you can?
I would prefer to see legendaries broken into mode specific variations. No, not to tick anyone off, but because there simply are people that only play a single mode, and that is their right.
PvPers don’t even have access to legendaries in their chosen mode unless they leave it to play WvW and PvE, and they really shouldn’t have to.
WvWers that don’t enjoy the pve aspect of the game should not have to pve to get their ledendary. It should be completely obtainable via their chosen mode.
The same goes for pve players. Some, for any number of reasons, choose not to play wvw or pvp and should not have to.
Now, I understand that it is desirable to encourage cross mode play. Legendaries could still be used for this, by means of allowing cross mode players to obtain the mode specific legendary and then combine them to make something more visually ‘stunning’, similar to how sunrise and twilight are combined to create eternity. Perhaps the combination of any 2 modes would give one look, and the combination of all 3 would give another, while each individual mode should have its own distinct look as well. This would still encourage the cross mode play (since that’s the only way you could get the other look), but does not lock people away from the ‘top’ long term goal simply because they do not necessarily enjoy the other game modes. We all bought the game for different reasons.
Perhaps such a change can not be made to the current legendaries, without causing an uproar, but maybe it could be considered for future ones.
Could you also please remove the Tier 6 Mat requirements for Gift of Magic and Gift of Might, and the Dungeon Token requirements for Gift of Color etc. and let us buy Precursors off a vendor for karma while you’re at it.
Because I realize in taking this step you want to ensure that achieving a Legendary is easy and not needlessly difficult.
