Yes I modified armors right after opening satchel so it was my noobish mistake. Still I think there should be information about satchels if they are usable to character so new players like me could avoid mistake. And i don’t understand why armors becomes soulbound if character do not wear them eventhough they modify them. Thanks for replies.
It has nothing to do with the fact that the armor pieces came from a satchel so there is no need to make any other mentions about them.
Also when you tried to modify it there was a warning. You just ignored the warning and clicked yes to make the modifications. So there is the answer to “why does armor becomes soulbound”. When the game gives you a warning you should not assume it is joking with you.
“Just missed” is probably less annoying than “permanently stalled” but obscuring all events in range. Some events are also simply too long winded like a 5 minute defense event.
Or if they bug out. That’s always fun. :\
Really though, hauling kitten to get to an event circle just to have it close because 80 people ate a tiny boss is just frustrating. I don’t do zone events and will pop into PvP before I even consider it.
I actually find the zone event dailies to be very easy most of the time and wonder why people are complaining on map chat. :P
Oh and jumping puzzle completion also counts as an event.
Considering the fact that there are people who buy those satchels/boxes and then open them to sell the contents this sounds like you are only telling half the story.
Any attempt to modify a piece of bindable gear will cause it to become soulbound.
1G Mystic coins are NOT a problem for Anet, and they arnt a problem for most of the player base.
They are only a problem for players who need mystic coins NOW, and who have no patience.
You can refine Mithril with Scribe.
What the OP seems to be doing is clicking Craft on the SuperRock Platform without the Mithril ingots, if you click the Magnifying glass next to the Mithril Ingot ingredient for the Super Rock, it’ll take you to Mithril Refinement automatically, if you are the relevant level in Scribe, of course.
Make sure to report people so that there is a record. Not aimed at anyone, just going into PSA mode.
The chest drops are based on the appearance of the treasure chest, rather than a specific location. Chest appearances do tend to vary based on location, but this is inexact. The Asura chest, for example, can appear in Maguuma zones where Asura live, but it also appears in some Asura labs in other places like Fireheart Rise. So a place like Drydock Scratch might have several different chest graphics as you go through the JP, and thus provide you with more than one ornament.
As for the actual question, yes, you can get the Orrian-style chest later outside of Wintersday, as long as you’ve progressed to the point where you’re starting to get those drops from chests.
I own nothing just a humble messenger, the original post is on reddit. As someone who never played S1 and watched through videos, its amazing seeing a coherent and well made video of the unplayable season. Enjoy!
It’s almost as if words evolve to gain new meanings or are used in different ways.
So you’re saying that the term “Damage per second” has evolved to mean something else than damage per second?
To think about how ridiculous this is, imagine you’re talking about km/h, as in kilometers per hour. Any car dealer would ridicule you for saying “how km/h is this car”. Go around flagging it under “words evolve” and the scientific community would also laugh at you.
DPS is what it is, it’s damage per second. It’s a calculation of how much damage an attack is dishing out on average per second based on its raw damage and cooldown. Saying “DPS means to do high damage”, is as silly as saying “km/h means to go very fast”.
Some words evolve, yes, because they’re used very subjectively, abstractively or loosely. But words that stand for scientific measures don’t evolve, because a second will always be a second and a meter will always be a meter.
Jesus you just refuse to accept the fact that you can be wrong, can’t you? Words evolve all the time. Xerox evolved into a verb even though it started off as a Company name. Google is almost a verb. The word “literally” was used incorrectly by so many people that all dictionaries caved and ended up adding the “wrong” definition since no one was ever using it correctly (and now, that definition is technically one of the correct uses of the word). You’re getting upset because people don’t have perfect grammar in a game? My bad. I didn’t realize that was a requirement to playing GW2. Because when the bar is broken, everyone wants to wait for you to type out, in correct grammar mind you, that we can “now attack it and do maximum damage in the 5 seconds you have before the exposed debuff wears off”. Oh wait, no one wants to kittening do that.
Everyone, literally everyone, knows what “DPS this boss” means. You are the only one who has a problem with it, so maybe the problem isn’t with the phrase at all. Maybe it lies elsewhere. Hmm?
This started out, a month ago, as one person’s opinion based on speculation that was founded on incomplete information. It’s now become little more than an argument, with appropriate and practical questions dismissed or refuted with yet more speculation or opinions stated as fact. It’s time to close the topic.

It seriously allow you to list 900 thousand stuff? I was thinking there was going to be some kind of restriction after 1 thousand stacks or something. There is absolutely nothing preventing someone to speculate in this manner? I don’t understand how supply of some items are so low if that’s possible.
plenty of times, this kind of speculation actually helps in times of demand spikes. Taking the sigil of mischief for example, if some speculators wouldnt have put in buy orders in copper value during its first year of existance, alot more sigils would have been sold to vendor and ultimatively be destroyed. All those sigils that were bought during that time are probably the reason that the sigils are still way cheaper on the tp than their forging value.

There’s a very good chance this is the ONLY discount you’ll see on character slots until the anniversary sale in August, and then it’s likely to only be 20% again.
Annoyingly it’s also likely to be the only discount on bank tabs until August and I’m not home to buy them until tomorrow. Hopefully they’ll still be on sale then.

In your screenshot, one window shows what the Achievement is worth when completing the task at hand (if you mouse over, you can see all possible tiers and points). The other window shows what you have achieved so far. The window with 0 will eventually show 10, then 20, then 30…up to 100 (max).
It would be odd if they showed the same amount.
I don’t run that rune myself, but I was always under the impression that it increased the condition damage output instead of the condition damage stat.
I.e. You actually need to compare each tick of burn/bleed/etc to see if the rune is working, not the value shown in your hero panel.
I have a problem with it permanently adding to the work load of the game with no added gameplay.
I’m not sure I understand what the point of this post is. You’re posing it like it’s a real question—*if not afk farmers, what is going on?—then treating it like it’s an argument with a rhetorical question and the answer is obviously that there are afk farmers and that THIS ARE EVILLLLLLL.
But to what end do you need to convince any of us of this? If people are afk-ing their way to high cash flow on a hundred different accounts…what are we supposed to do about it? Get outraged? Complain to ANet so that they get rid of the autoloot function?
Insist that a potential influx of goods into the marketplace that drives down prices for the vast majority of people (who just want to be able to afford to outfit some characters) ought to be a good reason to abolish a mechanic that is convenient, assures that most players make more money because they don’t miss their drops, and makes people happy?
This is…never gonna happen. People are never going to want what you want.
I’ve been around a long time too—since prior to launch, and I play the market. And the thing you haven’t considered is that there are traders who actually make money faster when there is a higher volume of goods in the marketplace, even when that window between buy and sell prices narrows. (If you haven’t figured out how, I’m not going to tell you.)
The point is, you’ve assumed that whatever is going on—whether it’s caused by afk farmers or something else—is a negative generally because it’s a negative for you, and thus needs to be “fixed.” This isn’t true for all of us. For some of us, what’s going on is a positive and makes us money, and the last thing we want to see is for it to get “fixed.” For probably the majority of people, any increase in supply is only helpful. And that’s even aside from the fact that most players like autoloot. It’s generally good for the game.
You shouldn’t assume that because something is disadvantageous to you, it’s disadvantageous to everyone, or even to most people. You’re never going to sell this issue as a problem because for probably most people, it’s got positive effects, not negative ones.
Hey,
I brought up this issue before but it seemed that commenters were more keen about being the smartest guy in the thread (and show it to everyone who comes around) rather than looking at the facts. But just before I start I have to mention that I may be biased as well, but for other reasons.
It all starts and ends with this paragraph. The answer to your topic is that for the most part, we honestly don’t think it’s AFK farmers. We aren’t getting reports of seeing them widespread in the game, and so we’re a bit confused why you’re so dead set that the market is the way it is because of them when we aren’t seeing them. You came off as rude and your replied to people that way.
So here’s some proof for you since we can’t just say it’s ridiculous to say an entire market is being affected by a speculated group that may not exist. https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Rugged_Leather_Section
The Unstable Hide is what’s dropping like hot cakes from the new map, gives a chance at any leather. The new wvw nodes, the new guild nodes, the home instance leather node, just everything on the wiki. Also the game became f2p and they pretty much have to sell raw materials when they get full or they will no longer have inventory space. I’m positive I’m missing some other new sources.
So once again give us an example of what kind of AFK farmer you’re seeing. I don’t know of a farm that can beat multi map auric basin, the new maps, or silverwastes so how are these AFKers getting the majority of leather into the market?
Speaking of silverwastes, back when it was huge the best thing to do was to open bags on a lvl 55 or so character. I didn’t have a slot for that so I never did it, but that can still be done with any bags today. Instant tons of tier boopity shnoodle leather in an instant.
All im saying is that “I FEEL” that they are far too expensive and that they keep putting them in all the recipes without any way of people earning them in a normal fashion. If Anet had a actual gambling system fine but we have a RNG system.
I understand emotional arguments, but they come from your perspective, and that’s something you’re in control of, no one else.
I’m part of a three-person guild which we’ve managed to get to level 44. You can call yours a guild toilet, but I’m proud of what we’ve done with ours. I don’t see my lack of materials as something to bemoan, but instead as proof that I’ve contributed to the best of my abilities. My perspective makes me happy.
You raised an analogy earlier about having your car get changed without your consent by the manufacturer. From that perspective, yeah, that sounds like a terrible affront! But your analogy doesn’t fit. You don’t own your account. You paid for the privilege to play Anet’s game; they own your account. They can do to your account whatever they wish, and you agreed to that from the beginning.
You can choose to see the current price of mystic coins as an obstacle which needs to be fixed because it’s holding you back. I choose to see it as a necessary step in draining the massive supply of mystic coins from the game. Only once those are gone can new sources of mystic coins be addressed. This need for a sink is likely why so many mystic coins are required for items like the guild hall upgrades. Maybe once the supply is gone, rather than adding new sources Anet can reduce the sinks.
I know it’s hard to change perspectives, but if you’re holding on to ones which don’t match reality, then of course you’re going to feel frustration. I have sent off a few harsh emails directly to an Anet dev about some changes in HoT. From my perspective at the time, Anet was giving a middle-finger to a friend of mine. Only when I took a step back and chose to see all sides of the situation did I realize my emotions were in the wrong.

for an option purely in game that you can grind all day any time, gathering is 15-20g/h iirc
You do not make 20g/h gathering plz.
You can quite easily make 20g/hr gathering. Just because you personally have not made that much doesn’t mean others haven’t—you may not be familiar with the specific routes other players take or the shortcuts they take advantage of.
Farming strictly rich iron veins on a per character basis can give you around 5-6g every twenty minutes or so (takes around 2 minutes to hit each rich vein provided you know where they are and have the waypoints unlocked, and there are 10-11 that are easily reachable every day, each giving about 20 iron per harvest). So farming rich iron veins alone will give you around 10-15g per hour depending on how quickly you move from vein to vein. If you were to introduce even a single good waypoint for hard wood (one with 5-6 nodes immediately near the WP) into your farm, you could easily stretch that to 20g or more.
Node farming is not glamorous, but it is certainly profitable. Repeatable, steady income, provided you have the time and patience.
When there is no way to get them except from dailies and mystic forge and a event no one really does anymore.
And that Anet and many are saying ohhh such and such are hoarding them, who cares?
I dont care if there 20 players with 500,000 gold and 100,000 gems. If im one of the 1,000 players trying to get gold and gems with no other way of getting them. I look at it as a slight problem.
Yes there are ways to get gold in Gw2 im just trying to address a potential situation.
But that’s the beauty of the mystic coins. It’s a currency which is handed out to everyone equally. No account can receive more than other accounts because the supply is based on you logging in (yes, the events are negligible). If you PvE, PvP, WvW, or any combination of those, you’ll get the same amount as everyone else.
There’s another currency which acts in this manner: Laurels. You know what’s bad about laurels? They’re account bound. If you have too many, you can’t give them away. If you don’t have enough, you’re SoL. Mystic Coins can be bought and sold between players at an agreed upon price, and it’s happening now at a tremendous rate of volume.
Are there some people who think the price is too high? Are there some that think the price is too low? Of course, it’s called a bell curve. Given that supply is still easily matching demand, it seems that the current price is satisfactory for a very large number of buyers and sellers. Only when that large number of players becomes dissatisfied with the price will it move.
It’s those players that you can try to talk to about “a potential situation.” You’ll have to convince all of those buyers and sellers that the price which they just agreed upon for mystic coins was somehow wrong. Frankly though, I don’t think it’s anyone’s place to tell someone else what they can or cannot spend their money on, nor what price they should be paying. If they come to a mutual agreement, they shouldn’t be stopped. They’re content, but you’re not. I’m sorry you feel that way, but welcome to my side of the bell curve; I can’t afford them either.
What you want just isn’t profitable and adds to the work load of everything new that will be put in the game if it’s there.
Why would you need squads in those maps? Maybe people aren’t listing them because nothing there needs any more organization than call outs in Map or ad-hoc joining tags that happen to be in place. Certainly there’s no great need to taxi more people in just now that I can think of.
I’ve been playing a lot of Bell Choir lately. (Love it!) I have worked around the problems you mention by leaving the instance and rejoining if I get the error message. (I get it quite rarely, actually.) I think the situation where you are joining during the free-play is coincidental — I don’t think that is an issue. Free play, after all, runs longer than any particular song phrase, right? If that is true — and it seems true to me — then it would be sort of mathematically probable that you might hit that longer session more often.
Please also remember that if you get a message about the world being full when you try to enter the instance, you should try again right away. I’ve never had to try more than twice to get into the Bell Choir in that manner. (Sometimes I go through the gate, sometimes I accept through the NPC — either will work.)
We’re sorry for the occasional issues that arise, but I hope that the suggestions above will be helpful to you. See you on that magical, musical circle!
