It’s really difficult to understand what you’re trying to get across because you’ve presented a wall of text. You need to insert some line breaks in there, and either number or bullet point your suggestions so it’s clearer what they are. I’m curious about your suggestions but it’s very difficult to read the way it’s structured.

According to the wiki you should get them from the recommended dailies but pay attention: NOT from the tier 1-4 daily chests:
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Fractal_Research_Page

All in all you can get 5 per day:
- 1 from the Daily Recommended Fractals, scales 1-19
- 1 from the Daily Recommended Fractals, scales 21-40.
- 1 from the Daily Recommended Fractals, scales 51-75.
- 1 from Daily completion of Nightmare Fractal Challenge Mote (once per day)
- 1 from Daily completion of Shattered Observatory Challenge Mote (once per day)

They are guaranteed so if you don’t get them on your journey today/tomorrow maybe it’s bugged and you should contact the support.

Took me 3 runs of the dungeon to get the bug.

Are the new weapon skins seriously 2 tickets?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Behellagh.1468

Behellagh.1468

First, TP prices are subject to the same supply and demand laws as anything else on the TP. That is less popular skins or skins in high supply will have a lower price. Also supply for these skins are also based on how long they have been available for purchase, if they still are available in the Vault, if they had returned recently to the Vault, if they are part of the BLC rare and ultra-rare pool, etc.

For instance Aetherized Weapon Skins are one the oldest BLT skins in the game, introduced during LWS1 in 2013. They range in sell price on the TP from 139 to 18 gold depending on the skin. However before HoT the prices were considerably higher simply because nobody was offering to sell any that they had coupled with not being able to buy them anymore, until new Lion’s Arch opened with the Vaults.

And yes, players selling them will initially take into account the ticket cost when pricing them. But BL Weapon Skins were always a suckers game IF you had to buy your keys. It’s always been roughly 25 keys per “ticket” and 2100 gems for a 25 keys can be exchanged for, at the time of writing this, around 418 gold. That’s for one ticket. So a two ticket skin for under 200 gold is a flippin steal.

We are heroes. This is what we do!

Precision Blade/Hold the line

in Living World

Posted by: Healix.5819

Healix.5819

For Hold the Line, simply let the NPCs die and stand in the back. When not in combat, the enemies will walk around the room in a circle, taking a brief break in the back. When they’re at that back, use the revive skill at the front, which causes Kiera (Anise) to pause rather than stick to you. The enemies will circle back around and engage the NPCs. Let Kiera solo them, she’s immortal, and do not interfere, as you will immediately attract them to yourself. Repeat for as long as you need and however many kills you want.

Because it’s true? I mean, they have demonstrated their ability to create, develop and run a game better than any single player in this forum … so why shouldn’t I believe they don’t know better than you or anyone else posting here? If Anet isn’t doing it right, that’s not any indication that players would do it better, so that asusmption is just crap right from the outset.

Now maybe if you claimed that another game dev could do better, you would have a point … but players? That’s a ridiculous claim. You are being very audacious.

You haven’t shown your understanding in almost any post you make that this is a for-profit business and the restrictions that imposes on the concept, design and delivery of the game. Just based on that fundamental lack of understanding, I will put my money on Anet doing better than you or any other player any day.

Wait What? A new Expansion? But But But...

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Donari.5237

Donari.5237

We’ve known for weeks if not months that they would be getting this expansion to us in the near future. We’ve known far longer than that, pretty much back to early HoT, that they had 70 people working on the expansion.

We also found out a little bit ago that while the remaining legendaries might not come out until after the expansion, per direct statement of ANet we will not need the expansion to craft them.

This has all been discussed quite a bit on these forums over the past year or so, plus there was a humongous spoiler filled leak of the expansion’s content that spilled over Reddit and was referenced in forum threads here (mostly decrying the leak). I’m sorry if you missed it and a little envious of you for your being able to be surprised by the fact of the expansion and by where it will be set.

Never fear, however. You won’t be fooled. You don’t have to buy the expansion and you most especially don’t have to pre-order it. You can wait to see what’s in it and what it costs (rumors are the price point will be rather lower than HoT was) and decide then.

It seems odd to me to call it “immoral” to release an expansion when some players are dissatisfied with the first one. I don’t see morality or ethics at issue here. Not even corrupt business practices. It might perhaps in your view be a bad business decision — certainly they could face some PR nightmares similar to what HoT brought them if things are handled poorly — but it hardly seems something someone would need to bring to confession to receive absolution over.

Enjoy the thread now, because it won’t be long before we get dozens of posts saying “I figured it out in 3 minutes because I’m amazing!” Followed by chastising remarks about hand holding.

Generally, though, this games community is helpful and it’s awesome.

Look at the hyperbole and whining some of the responses are in this thread and then ask yourself why there are any sort of ‘chastising remarks about hand holding’…

Dont’ see the connection.

Some few, vocal people want to act like this fight (which isn’t hard if you engage your brain ever so slightly… hard for some people, I know…) is the end of the world, ruining their lives and making them want to contemplate suicide… when its just a dang game. And not even that hard of a game either.
When you come off as /that/ whiny and over-entitled over something this trivial (and it is trivial…) then yes… people are going to respond with sarcasm.

But hey! If people just want all these fights to become ultra-boring ‘Press-the-big-butten-here-to-win’ kind of snooze-fests, then all the more power to them, I suppose…
I’ll laugh when the forums become full of ’I’m bored! This game sucks!’ kind of posts… likely from the very same people.

The fight is already like that if you speak with the NPC and use the new ability.

What a lot of people are complaining about is going for the other achievement that requires you not to speak to the NPC. This makes the fight much more difficult because of the very long cooldowns and need to endure through the enemy’s attacks. Currently the only way people have found to do this is either with minions/turrets/clones doing the damage or setting yourself up with very high sustain (e.g. warriors healing signet) and just whittle away at the health bar.

The problem with the above is that it excludes some classes. Now, if there was a reliable way to avoid the debuff, as dodging doesn’t appear to be working, then there wouldn’t be an issue.

I just did it with a condi necro.

Break -> apply condi
Run around until the bar is breakable a gain
repeat

I made the mistake of using the shout heal as well which was probably not the best choice but it was successful anyway so I guess it didn’t matter that much.

Edit: also had Epidemic so that is two wrong skills … >_>

Do you think you may be overwhelming yourself with having such a big list of, “Want to Do’s”, that it may be causing you to become anxious and flabbergasted with where or what to start with?

If I was you, I would take your Ranger, find a build that entices you, from either www.metabattle.com or www.qtfy.eu, work towards getting that flesh out and finished.

For content, do your personal story, along with the HoT story. (Maybe the Living Stories if you have those unlocked.)

Going through that content, should give you a understanding of how your character’s build works and a big enough platform to stand on to move onto something like Fractals, since Dungeons nowadays are done for skins mostly.

I would passively work towards your legendary, don’t over focus on it or you’ll get overwhelmed, ect. It takes a while to complete so, you have plenty of time to work on it.

As for crafting, www.gw2crafts.net is a good website to help you plan out how much you need to save in order to max out crafts, since you are a ranger, you will need, Leatherworking/Weaponsmith/Huntsman to cover your needs (For ascended crafting, and you can have more than two crafts on a toon, you just need to pay each time you want to swap to one, since only two can be, “Used” at a time. and you don’t lose progress when you swap.)

Google popular GW2 farms, there are plenty of guides on how to do it, I personally farm Silverwastes, and enjoy it.

Exploration/Map Completion will come after time, but isn’t needed until you go for legendaries, and as I said, work on that passively.

If you have any other questions, hit me up in-game, I wouldn’t mind having another friend, and I will help you with what you need.

How am I supposed to find a Raid group?

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

Shadowstep, you still haven’t understood why ppl are putting an LI requirement.

It doesn’t matter if some 200+ LI folks have less skill than you.
It doesn’t matter if 20, 40, 100 or whateverest LI number you take.
It doesn’t matter if you can kill bosses with less LI than required.
It doesn’t matter if you can sneak into a group with less LI than required and you have success.
It doesn’t matter if you can fake your LI: If you fail hardcorely you will be kicked, if not, everything is fine and it’s ok you got away with cheating.

The requirement of pugs is there to discourage completely unexperienced players and to prevent pug groups from searching and wiping for hours due to those players.
Of course not every “1 billion LI” group will oneshot all bosses, of course some will still struggle, of course ppl can have a bad day, of course some folks have acquired their LIs with easy bosses, were carried someday by the others and have a good amount of LI to get into such groups. Yes, that can happen several times but the bottom line is, it is more likely to not struggle than to set up a group with no requirements and have success with it.

I also had boss kills with less or 0 LI requirements but I would rather join one with such a check because the likelihood of not wasting my time is much better.

Fun part is:
You are still complaining. Over weeks now. If it’s so hard for you to see such groups and you are blaming those “elitists”, then there is a cool option just for you:
Open your own squad – It will fill within minutes.
But don’t tell me that you always get the kill done. That’s more than unlikely and this is why you join the other ones at the moment. Because you know your chance is higher to succeed with these! Don’t lie to yourself!

Took me 3 runs of the dungeon to get the bug.

Stacking sigils don't work.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Professor Sprout.1560

Professor Sprout.1560

@OP Please correct the title of this thread. As has been pointed out by others here, the sigils do in fact function and apply the correct benefit proportional to the number of stacks the player possesses.

@OP & BunjiKugashira in the grand scheme of things I hardly think that these problems are “big”, nor “ridiculous”, nor “PUNISHMENT” nor requiring of “solutions”. The sigil offers a reward that you have to work for, encourages good play and requires careful behaviour on the part of the user. There should be more sigils like these ones.

To me the only design elements in this field that I would like to see changed are how the Sigil of Demon Summoning works. Right now the demon pet is weak, does not interact with the player’s skills & traits and appears whether the player wants it to or not. To improve matters I would suggest the following:
1) The demon needs a flat buff to all of its stats, particularly hit points. Without some baseline DPS and the ability to survive with support for its whole duration there would be no point building around this potentially interesting sigil choice.
2) The demon should inherit all applicable pet-related traits that the user is running: so that means the minion traits if the user is a necromancer; the turret & gyro traits if the user is an engineer; pet traits if the user is a ranger; illusion traits if the user is a mesmer and so forth. This would turn the demon from being merely a thing that happens to being something that the player can build around, particularly for pet-heavy builds that might be more interested in most to this sigil.
3) The demon should only summon when the sigil is at 25 stacks AND the wielder uses their heal skill. Making the sigil skill-activated would give the player some control over when the pet is summoned, necessary if the player is going to use it intelligently.

Stop Making Outfits

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Inculpatus cedo.9234

Inculpatus cedo.9234

Except since Outfits are a different weight than either Heavy, Medium, or Light, they could not be mixed with Heavy, Medium or Light Armor. That leaves…well, Outfits.

So not true… the weights have no baring on what can and can’t be mixed. All the weights affect is how the physics engine interacts with the mesh. A light cloth armor would be weighted to be very flowy and float a bit in motion while heavy plate armor would be more rigid and direct in motion. Weights very well can be mixed, in fact they are mixed on various outfits (and even some armors). Weights also translate to what parts of the armor mesh moves with what bone-nodes in the model skeleton rigging. All of which is to be perfectly honest, universal across all armor classes. The only thing that ANet differentiates between with weights on armor classes is the physics interactions, but that’s due to aesthetics. Afterall heavy armor shouldn’t just look like heavy armor, it should move like it too.

When I said outfits are less restrictive on weights, I really meant just that. They are free to design outfits for whatever material weight they wish with no restriction based on the armor class. This fact wouldn’t change.

Infact, there are several armor parts in the game already that can be used across all armor classes. These parts have identical weights across all armor classes. They do not interact with the physics engine any differently on a light armor class than they do on a heavy armor class. They do not interact with the skeleton any differently either. Weight really is the least important barrier in this entire debate. So unimportant that it (forgive the pun) holds no weight.

Sectioning out outfits allows them to continue to focus on making outfits rather than armor as it’s still the simpler option, while simultaneously appeasing the playerbase as a whole. Players who enjoy outfits still get their outfits, players who want more armors to mix-n-match can now mix-n-match with outfit parts. Everyone wins.

Odd, I can’t mix any Heavy Armor with Light or Medium. I guess the Devs were mistaken when they stated Outfits were another weight, and couldn’t be mixed…not to mention the problem with the different dye channels.

I’m sure the Devs will consider your feedback, and give it the attention it deserves.
