I enjoy playing GW2. I’ve enjoyed playing since BWE. So I’ll continue to enjoy playing it until I don’t. Simple as that. So I’m excited simply that GW2 will continue to be free, continue to have a really great community, and continue to get updates often. Bring on 2014.

Maybe there are other examples, but, since you just talk about dungeons, I’d like to point out that the dungeon community is a distinct subset of the overall community.
I don’t do dungeons often (not generally my thing,) but the times that I had, I didn’t have any issues with people. Just steer clear of “experienced only/speed clear” runs, and, if you’re worried about getting kicked, there’s the old standby of starting the group yourself. Hopefully your future experiences will be better.
There are bad apples out there, but don’t let them spoil it for you.
I’m given to understand that Ho-Ho-Tron would be further ahead if he wasn’t having to spend time dealing with customer support due to the numerous botting reports filed against him by Marcello.
I saw a request somewhere (
) for this statistic, but I don’t have an official account for somewhere.
So, if anyone is interested here’s the current donation split:
Ho-Ho Tron: 52.18%
Marcello: 47.82%
I’m actually surprised it was this close! My money was on Ho-Ho Tron all the way.

Edit – because some people don’t like links, here’s the quote from CC Charles – Anet Community Coordinator
Hi,
Indeed, as Cheiron said, this programm can be assimilated as a third party one, and therefore is not allowed on our game.
Please note that utilisation of third party software can lead to a definitive suspension of your account.
Now that the answer has been given, I will close this thread.

I know I am, can’t wait to see what Anet have for us in 2014.
I can’t wait. I left the game prior to the 2 week event cycles (back in September 2012) as I was still heavily involved in progression raiding in another game, as well as RL responsibilities. I returned to GW2 just in time for the Mad King events this year.. and was blown away by the LS cycles. I am so looking forward to making up for lost time, as well as seeing what Anet has in store for us in the next year of events!
I love the changing LS events, as it keeps the game fresh with new things to do.. as opposed to an annual expansion and absolute boredom in between. Most games keep my interest for a month after xpac; I complete content, build daily quest reps, get my new raiding BiS tier set, and then I’m out of the game. GW2 stands apart in that matter. I don’t mind that I missed out on the past events prior to this last October (although they looked amazing! and so different from each other) I’m just excited to be able to participate in what has yet to come. I feel the 2 week cycles not only keep the game fresh and exciting, but they also prevent stale content, and create a greater appreciation for the content while it’s live. I hope they keep at it.

I have faith in this game. Long live GW2.
all these new mmo in 2014 doesn’t looks that great to me. Another year for gw2 to shine!
Yeah, pretty much. I am spoiled. Not that GW2 is perfect. It still needs a lot of work (but hopefully these CDI threads will help with that). But it is still a game with a lot of potential.
I resubbed to WoW a month ago and I’m just not feeling it. The combat feels so weird and clunky now. Though I have to say I do miss being a dedicated healer. One thing Anet needs to work on is moving away from Zerker and finding a stronger place in the game for support roles.
I can’t wait for 2014… Lol @ all who are complaining…. Just leave for another game and stop QQing on our forums?:) …There is a difference between not being happy with the state of the game and trying to voice opinions towards a solution, and just QQing for no reason whatsoever. Its not worth anyone’s time, especially yours. Life is too short, go find something you enjoy, and leave this enjoyable for those who enjoy it?
MERRY CHRISTMAS

All the GW2 ads I’ve seen have just used the logo and some text about no subscription fees.
^This.
Are you sure it was a real Guild Wars 2 ad, and not something made by a third party site to try and steals your info?
It is true that this thread is magical, by all the creativity of everyone! =D
Erf. Kulvar for Races is true that it is not … yet this, but I’m sure it will ripen!
This CDI continues to get better and better. It is awesome just to be able to sit here and think about all these great ideas. On top of this the professionalism and respect shown to fellow posters is exactly what I would hope from the initiative as it matures.
A couple of days ago I did an interview with a journalist about the CDI and he asked me what my favorite things about the CDI were (on top of other things. You will be able to hear it soon I think). Seeing you all brainstorm and problem solve like you are in this thread is excellent and exactly what I had hoped for the CDI. So many good ideas, so much for us to discuss with you and at Arena, and ultimately so much value to add to GW2.
With this in mind I will be keeping this topic open until at least the 6th of Jan so that once the majority of the idea have come forward we can discuss them and start putting proposals together.

It’s not the short game that’s important, it’s the long game.
Not if GW2 doesn’t survive long enough to get into the long game, which — to me — is a real danger.
It’s so not a danger. I hear this kind of stuff all the time. There are games that are older and much worse than Guild Wars 2 that have survived much longer. Games that barely worked at all that were around for years and years.
Do you know how many players Guild Wars 2 needs to “survive”? Do you know how many players are playing right now? Do you know how many new players might come aboard between now and when these new games come out?
This kind of statement servers no purpose except to alarm. I’m not alarmed. I’ve followed this industry for too long to believe that this game doesn’t have a future. It’s not going to have 12.4 million subscribers, but neither does WoW anymore.
I think the devs are more canny than most people think, and I think most people assume the way they feel about a game is the way everyone feels about it.
2014 will end up being a very good year for Guild Wars 2. This so-called danger will come to nothing.
Looking forward to conclusion to Scarlet in next 4 LS updates; looking forward to new legendaries and precursor scavenger hunt, looking forward to next LS “series” and hopefully it brings a new ELDER DRAGON (you know, what this game is about, right?), new zones/playable races/professions.
Well, one can dream, and I hope it’s all inbound in 2014
Wildtrash, ESO won’t deliver (I will try the latter, but I don’t believe either will succeed, imho)
EQ:N/L caters to different crowd with its features (Next could be interesting though)…Anyway – heavily invested in GW2 still – so c’mon Anet, dazzle me in 2014!
Reveal Scarlet as an elder dragon lieutenant and all will be forgiven
Just the existence of these new MMOs will likely hurt GW2. People will try them, and that puts them out of habit of logging into GW2. So even if the new MMOs are bad, a number of people won’t return to GW2.
GW2 really has to do something to stop people from even trying these new MMOs. But considering the first is coming in April, there’s not much time.
It depends. Something like the Elder Scrolls MMO might actually bring people who NEVER played an MMO to the table, and then, if the game doesn’t do well, Guild Wars 2 could end up with some of those people.
I know some of that went on with SWToR. There are people who liked Star Wars, sort of saw the possibilities in an MMO, didn’t end up liking the game and ended up playing Guild Wars 2.
It’s not the short game that’s important, it’s the long game.
Hardcore Mode: Do it with all of the icons turned off.
Time is a river.
The door is ajar.
Hint: The language is called English. Not American. Why should there be a US flag there at all?
Actually I think that the game does use American, rather than (British) English.

Beautiful attire’s everyone! I love xmas-styled costumes!
Here’s what my lil asura Dottsy is wearing, I ended up having a lot of fun in paint making xmas-cards of all the screenshots! XD

Norn Guardian – Aurora Lustyr (Lv 80)
Mia A Shadows Glow – Human Thief (Lv 80)
Yeah that is true, its probably one of the best looking games that I have ever played.
I kind of feel like the game boasts a mixture between the two. I think it’s gorgeous.
I was suppose to buy GW2 on the 18th. Good thing I was still undecided what digital version to buy til the next day—40% OMG!
I’m pretty sure this is the definition of being better. “Better” is subjective to its core.
Better as a state of being is not subjective. Better as a perception is.
I happen to share the perception that GW2 is the (or one of the) best MMO on the market right now, in this case.
I am happy to see Anet get some good marks for some of the great content they added in all the nitpicking over small parts of each updates is becoming boring to read from these forums.
I am also happy to see they are calling subs the Biggest Blunder for mmorpg its claimed one mmorpg before it has come out and may get another where EQ: next has no sub (that i know of) so its the next big things according to them. I hope the mmorpg community gets off this “if i pay more money for a game its got to be better” point of view.
Guild : OBEY (The Legacy) I call it Obay , TLC (WvW) , UNIV (other)
Server : FA
I haven’t run across any other mmo that holds a candle to GW2 at the moment. We’ll have to see what 2014 has to offer.
I have to agree with that one. A lot of work went into the SAB patch(es), and is very deserving of recognition.
