I’d rather they implement a new slot dedicated to speed increases over mounts. guild wars as always been bout the feel of movement by foot and waypoint. mounts would throw a wrench into the system but that’s just my opinion.

Hi,

Collecting achievements is a major motivation for me in the game. I have tried getting the skill-based AR achievements multiple times and have not yet got any of them. Now, it doesn’t bother me that they are hard to get, that is OK. However, I do have an issue with the time limit of getting them. If I don’t get them before this event is over, I’ll never get them thus foiling my attempt to eventually get all the PVE achievements in the game. It is very possible that I’ll stop playing if that happens.

So Anet, please make this instance permanent and do not do time-restricted skill-based achievements in the future. Thanks for reading.

the end boss is virtually impossible with pugs, and i don’t see how new people to this game can get any of the achievements… its unfair the dungeon needs some radical changes, either give mai massive bleeds, shadowstep or a 1 hit kill move but not all 3. i spent 3 hours in a guild run on this dungeon on the end battle and we did not get it accomplished, this should not happen… the cannon firing lasts too long… please nerf the dungeon so thakittens doable with pugs or at least manageable with guild on ts…

As iv said in another thread;

If the holograms actually scaled with the amount of people in proximity to them it would not only give us more group content but promote community at the camp spots.

This in my eyes is way better than having them like the gw2 crafting nodes, in which is instanced to each player. That would mean yet another kittening grind for kitten all challenge.

yeah I noticed this as well rather quickly. Really dissapointing compared to the portals/tanks and flame legion/dredge, that system worked great and was more fair to people coming to help.

Balance, bug-fixing and polish:

  • Fused weapon tickets are no longer available in Black Lion Chests.
  • Citizens! The Shark Boss crier will no longer be a bother. Please excuse his bad behavior.
  • Prevented Levvi from getting killed and temporarily blocking the scavenger hunt on Southsun Cove.
  • Fixed an issue with crab toss where players would get stuck on a team reserved for those carrying the crab.
  • This subsequently fixes an issue where more than one player wins, but the winner does not get a winner’s prize.
  • This also fixes an issue with the achievement for winning Crab Toss.
  • Closed an exploit that allowed some players to still access the final molten dungeon instance.

FPS meter and ping

I know you can see your FPS if you press escape and go to options (not sure where your ping is, though), but I’d really like to see them both in the top right corner of my screen constantly. This would not only be great in WvW when adjusting your settings to reduce lag as much as possible, but also in PvE so you know when you have lag spikes or have lagged out completely.

I know Call of Duty 1 to 4 (dunno about the newer ones, never played them) had the option where you could enable an FPS monitor in the top right corner of your screen so you knew exactly and immediately what your FPS rate was in certain areas, and a lagometer in the mid-right corner which updated you regularly on your PING so you knew whether it was safe to rush in or better to stay in defense (see attachment). I also knew exactly when it was time to reduce the graphics settings or reset my router/cut off rest of the family.

If this has already been suggested before, I apologize and hope you will implement it soon. If not, what do you guys think of it? I personally think it would be a great addition to the game.

It’s not really a matter of heavy armor but a learn to play issue.

Devs balance the game based on what each class CAN do, not what average people end up doing.

People with lighter armor who are mediocre in general don’t take advantage of all the evasive abilities and builds available to those classes and end up underperforming.

This then creates the stereotype that lighter armored characters are somehow no good and promotes discriminiation against them.

Go suck on a lemon. Pre-patch the fight was unbearable. The sparks were unresponsive and the boss pratically mocked you unless you teamed up for peaked performance DPS. Plus the absolute need to exploit the fight with the 4-1 Spark gimmick. That’s not how a dungeon should work.

Did it pre-patch and post patch. The difference was astonishing. A four hour run turned into a two hour treck with no down-time. And even as it is, one of our members had to grab his Warrior because our DPS was just barely to get Simin to switch phases. A step in the right direction.

And the sparks look so cool now, all scorpion-ish.

you have no clue.
pre january patch you could do it with any group as long as you were smart enough to think about fast ways to put the sparks in. and you had to watch how sparks act to understand how you have to move around. u didnt need high dps. you didnt need 4-1.

after january patch, there were a lot of bugs and they still exist after february patch.
the 50%hp bug, the random disappear bug after 10 seconds and so on.
people thought this is how its meant to be and reported how hard it is, instead of telling the devs that there is a bug.
thats why we got nerfs, unnecessary nerfs, instead of bug fixes.

after february patch, despite that the bugs still exist, the healing is so low that u can go afk and make a pizza. and when u come back simin still isnt at 100%.

i ran arah p4 over 40 times, 2 times failed, first time because it was my first time arah p4. second time because it was bugged.
and i got my dungeon master before january patch without warriors, full berserkers and without 4-1, 1 week after my first char hit 80 (have been playing gw2 for 3 weeks then), because i use my brain.
i know what im talking about. and you dont.

SIMIN HAS NEVER BEEN A DPS RACE. IT WAS JUST ABOUT IF YOU ARE SMART OR NOT.

and btw: why does everyone think arah should be easy? its the high end dungeon in the game. if you cant do it, accept that your not a good player and try to get better at this game, instead of destroying the game for us players who love challenge.

Arah p4- boss bugged

So we spent 4 hours doing Arah p4, and got stuck at this boss. We lured sparks but she kept on healing, and always retreat when she’s at 50% and not 25% as it should be.
5 members, dedicated their time to do the dungeon and eventually all quit because it is impossible to make…
It is not “okay” for us to spend that much time and for nothing.. so please fix this bug and if we can get that path completed we would be grateful.

No, actually, the ammunition argument is entirely valid, and is probably one of the strongest points.
If you plan on staying away from civilization for years on end, what do you bring with you? You bring things you can rely on for a long time. Bladed weapons can be maintained without too much trouble, arrows can be recovered after being fired and more can be made if needed. But you’re not going to be able to make more gunpowder.

OR, you could give us an in-game interface that satisfies the same functions as GW2LFG, so we don’t have to rely on an external website to help match players and groups together.

You know, like your competition offers. Seriously, why promote an external website when this kind of functionality should really be included standard in modern MMOs? Why hasn’t it happened yet?

If you read or post on our official forums, you may have noticed the +1 button next to each post. Recently, we have updated this system with more features and visibility for you, the players. You can find the full forum update notes here. This post is to familiarize you all with the new features in our +1 system and how they affect you.

Added a link to user profile pages which shows posts that a user has +1’d, ordered such that top-most is the most recent

Added a link to user profiles to show highly rated posts ordered descending by score

When visiting a user’s profile page, you can view all posts that user has +1’d starting with the most recent, or see all of their own posts that have been +1’d by others sorted descending by score.

Both of these options are opt-in, because we respect your privacy and don’t want to force you into sharing information you are not comfortable with sharing. As such, you may not see these links in other user profile pages immediately. You will always see these links on your own page, regardless of your settings.

To allow others to view these pages on your own profile, click on your display name in the upper right of the forum, then on the following page, click “Edit Profile”, check the last two boxes and click “Save changes”.

Popularity is divided between popular and very popular as well as per-thread and forum-wide

What this means is that there are two levels of popularity, categorized “popular” and “very popular”. Currently these are indicated by a thumbs-up icon that appears next to the +1 button. If a post is very popular, the thumbs-up earns a star that appears within said icon.
Our future plans include updating these indicators to something more visually striking. Until then, this is how you will know if a post has achieved popular status.

There are also two levels in which posts are gauged for popularity, on a per-thread basis and forum-wide. Forum-wide popularity takes into account +1s from within a set time period across the forum. Per-thread popularity takes into account all +1s in a thread. Visually, a forum-wide popular post will have a red underline beneath the thumbs-up icon.

Over the next few weeks, we will monitor thresholds against post-scores and make adjustments as we see is necessary to ensure accurate display of popularity indicators. Going forward, if you read a post and like it, press that +1 button. It’s how you let us, and other players, know that you liked what you read.

Hi everyone,

I have attempted this dungeon path several times over the past month, and each time we fail at the same spot : Dwayna.

After the recent update, I had a hope she would be easier with the sparks change, but it really didn’t do anything for the fight. Now, I’m not here just to complain “Waah I can’t do it! Help!”. I want to explain in detail how frustrating this boss is.

Let’s look first of all at other dungeons. Every single path, be it story or explorable, of every dungeon is do-able with a pick up group. Some paths require coordination (Sorrow’s Embrace p1) and some are harder than others, but really all of them are do-able. If you look at the other paths in Arah, they are all relatively difficult but really you can finish them with an OK team, you don’t need perfect builds and such.

Now let’s look at Arah p4 :
The path is slightly harder than most, with Grenth also being an annoying fight (the first part anyway), but it’s only when you get to Dwayna (Simin) that it really becomes unfair.

The last party I had just now was perfectly coordinated. 3 DPS warriors with berserker gear, 1 person on tear/doing a bit of DPS when he could, and we were running the sparks in around 10-15 seconds max. We even used the 4/5 trick, where you pre-place sparks and let her heal to max so you only need to place 1 spark next time.

No go.

Not even close in fact. We only got her down to around 30% once and maybe 35-40% the rest of the time.

In total I have fought Dwayna for about 12 hours if not more. Each time we became more and more coordinated, adjusted our builds to DPS as much as possible, tried different spots (although it’s pretty clear the best place to fight her is on the south wall so you don’t mess up Spark aggro, we tried fighting her in the middle or outside the cave too), etc. Each time we failed in the same way.

I have no idea what we are expected to do better here. Almost everyone I see with Dungeon Master had completed this path when you could hit her when she was stealthed.

I don’t understand how this fight is supposed to be fun. It’s not even challenging, it’s incredibly tedious. It’s a DPS check 1.5-2 hours into a dungeon —- and it’s not a normal DPS check, it’s a ridiculous one. I’ve been in more than 1 team that was well coordinated, with well geared players all geared towards DPS that still couldn’t down her.

I check gw2lfg.com for groups, and I often see people offering to pay 5g or 10g per person just to get a group to beat her! That is NOT NORMAL!

Please, do something. Make her heal 1/3rd of what she does now and she will still be difficult for inexperienced players. The path will still be long so people will still run p2/3 instead. Anything really, to make he possible.

Once you understand the fight mechanics, you SHOULD be able to beat her, but that really isn’t the case.

I target something with left click and as I’m constantly moving the camera with right click, it’s constantly targeting things I don’t want targeted. I’d love it if ArenaNet disabled right click targeting or at least added an option for it, because it’s really annoying.

Suggestion: At the topic states, a toggle to disable it. A HUGE amount of people believe that simply making right click target on mouse release instead of mouse down, that it would fix the problem, but I still feel I would randomly target things. Example being when I target something, turn my camera just a little to get a different view, and release on a huge group of people (that I obviously do not want to be targeted.) Perhaps we could have an option for all 3?

This idea is to free up the chat in LA from FOTM spammers.

*Create a map in The Mists. FOTM waiting area.
*Going into the Mist will have two options (The Mists SPvP and FOTM waiting area)
*Portal in the mists that link (The Mists SPvP and FOTM waiting area).
*FOTM chat channel in the mists

The Portal in the mist should have the option in travel to the other cities. If not for free, then half priced.

LA FOTM portal can then link to Southsun Cove.

ArenaNet SHOULD know better, we ALL know what the swastika stands for.

I find your statement to be incredibly offensive towards my proud Viking heritage, my good Sir! Not to mention towards a great deal of other people such as Buddhists and other Eastern religions/cultures who have used the Swastika as a religious symbol way before my Viking ancestors.
