30/30/30/30/30 build is so OP
I wont call you ignorant, but you sir need to know about the S/D and D/P that plagues sPvP. They have access to all of the afore mentioned stuff without having to fall in your uncivilized and near sighted fail of a joke.

I think we can all agreed that currently thieves are stealing (no pun intended) all the attention when it comes to damage dealer/roamer/squishy.
Their OP superb damage coupled with spammable blinds, teleports, dodges, stealth, backstabs is driving to extinction the few eles and mesmers that remain (today we lost 2 top mesmer players due to this, on top of the countless nameless elementalists which plead for fixes long time ago after getting the boot up their …..feet)
Backstabs, without any kind of interaction on the taker other than bending over and taking it regardless of skillfully blocking it, blinding or evading the attack.
Blinds, which reapply on literally every second and then there is the fact that every ranged skill on thieves (except autoattack) applies a blind through this field.
Teleports that cure conditions and break stuns, rendering any form of CC, soft or hard, useless. On top of not only having one, or 2, or 3, or 4 , or 5……. just as many as initiative permit, on top of 2 freebies on low CD.
You cant give one class all the best tools for survival regardless of stats, give it the best single target damage and then allow it to take anybody else’s role and call it a day.
Suggestions; blind fields, same treatment the earth storm ele got; once every 4 seconds.
Teleports, increase initiative cost, give it 1/2 or 3/4 seconds precast, 1/2 activation.
Damage and boon stealing; needs an ICD and the damage needs some shaving down, specially spamable skills, something not along the lines of 8%, but rather 15-25%.
Backstab needs to be an opener, apply 10-15 vulnerability stacks to help vs bunkers but have normal or only slightly augmented damage to not be so upfronted.
Thoughts?

The Ascended materials exist to take coin out of the game, not to inject coin into it. For each of those 140 Bloodstone Bricks you’ve created, you’ve spent 16 silver on the vendor item needed to forge them.
Being able to turn them into coins goes against what they were created for. It will never happen.

Why dont you ask ANet for a Buff of Moa Skill #5?
Maybe something a la “Remove Chill, Cripple and Immobilize”
-Charr Thief-
It’s good to be bad!
Do you not like spaming conditions?
What did you expect? Well-telegraphed and avoidable attacks with a fair risk/reward game-play?
Wrong game bro. Active combat died a while ago. Now it’s all about applying conditions vs. removing them.
Yeah Anet mean that this is really fun and skillfull to spamm condis like an idiot.
A necro puts signet of spite or corrupt boon on you, an engi that spams grenades and bombs on the point, P/D thiefs with permanents torment and kittenloads of confusion and condi mesmers with perma stealthing with every condition in the game.
Are these fun mechanics?
This faceroll and overpowered spec will not get nerfed anytime soon right ? Mesmer hiding in stealth 80% of the time with protection and regen while your enemy has perma weakness/cripple which kills any power user.
There’s a reason why PU is banned from dueling servers. PU noobs are instantly kicked upon join. Seriously I dont know what the devs are wating to nerf this fail and OP 1v1 build.
And dont tell me to l2p, the people who use PU should learn to play a real build.
I really do hope that this matter will get the attention it deserves from the developers. This issue has been in the game for too long already.
From Reddit:
http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/24e85y/the_asura_pvp_advantage_is_even_more_insane_than/
Arenanet always championed that they don’t want castbars in the UI because they want the game to be based around animations. A fair goal. Yet we are getting hit by damage we CLEARLY evaded just because some animations scale with character size, giving Asurans an incredible advantage in PVP because opponents cannot see where damage is.
After seeing Denshi reroll mini asura for his Ele in the ToL I did the same for my rather huge Norn ele. Noticing something strange I did some range check tests…
For reference, my female Norn is about 1/4th of the max Norn size, and my Asura is as small as they get.
First, Churning Earth.
Both the animation and the aoe range circle match, and the skill does damage inside this exact area. http://i.imgur.com/SdkBjpb.png 1 and http://i.imgur.com/PnMgdzx.png 2
Next, Drake’s Breath.
On the Norn, the animation matches up almost perfectly with the range the skill does damage at. Max Damage range: http://i.imgur.com/80FvzGv.png 3 and just ouside of range: http://i.imgur.com/efE6QMr.png 4
Also, yay, pretty ele animations.
Anyway, now see what happens when you compare the animation to the real range the skill has on the tiny asura:
The exact spot the Norn was standing on. http://i.imgur.com/g2VLNzf.png 5
The animation doesn’t even reach half the range the skill really has. Your opponents can clearly stand outside of your burning fire yet still take damage from invisible things. This shouldn’t happen in a game that is based around reading the enemy through his animations to counter them.
I also tested Lightning Whip, Ring of Earth and Frozen Burst. They behave the same as Drake’s Breath, the animation not even reaching half the range the skill really has. http://i.imgur.com/jAAq95j.png 6
http://i.imgur.com/EGWkQ4H.png 7
http://i.imgur.com/CVBBFll.png 8
From some further tests on the elementalists it seems skills that are either projectiles (like Dagger Fire Auto attack) or have AOE indicator circles like Ring of Fire are the same size no matter your character size. But I suspect all Skills that aren’t single target and don’t fall into the 2 mentioned categories are effected by this animation issue (like Warrior Hammer swings and cleaves like that).
Which is huge.

No, just open more 5v5 server. It’s a better solution for the “not enough servers” problem.
Already quit PvP. Just log in here and there to troll.
Lately as I’ve been reading these threads here I’m starting to see what everyone is complaining about and I’m getting kinda upset:
Engineers- should be nerfed, it doesn’t make sense how one class can run around in circles and spam away explosion and conditions while I’m dancing the marked for death dance, and whatever damage I do they just heal back up. No room for error.
Warriors-Honestly they don’t die when I do a fairly strong burst. And when I use conditions, they just Shake it off or Cleansing Ire or heck the Healing Signet mitigates damage far too well, not to mention they can just run away from combat at will and even when on a thief I can barely catch up to them, also, endure pain and berserkers stance..nuff said here, why are these even a thing?
Mesmers- Like this is honestly one of the most passive power based fighting styles I’ve seen, and it’s unfair. They sit back while their phantasms and clones do all of the damage. Or they can sit in stealth and still dish out that huge amount damage, and not get revealed. And people complain about thieves? And while we are on that topic…
Thief-Far too much stealth, far too much evades. One thief has access to unlimited stealth and evades and blinks than anyone can keep track of. Even as a thief I hate these guys. At least they get revealed when they attack you, but what’s the point since by that time you are looking up at them while on the ground as they stomp you saying “GG” in say chat then proceeding to jump up and down and /sit on your defeated body
Necromancers- The conditions and rate at which these guys can apply them is absurd. Mostly in an aoe too! To boot, they can transfer conditions back at you. Okay then fight them up close, lolnope, they can actually take a hit. Honestly have defense against conditions or melee, but why both? This is very OP imo.
Elementalist- Weakness class yeah right, how certain specs have more burst potential than even the glassiest of thieves. And they heal up a significant amount of damage without even using their kitten heal skill first. And I swear they cheat, whenever they use Shocking Aura or whatever it lasts like four seconds yet when I tried it it lasted for like .5 seconds. And the mobility! the OP active defenses!
Guardian- Like, why does a heavy armor class have so much passive healing? Only put to shame by Warrior and even then, these guys are tough! Why do they have blinks!? Shouldn’t mesmers and thieves have blinks? And why do their blinks hurt?? OP nuff said OP, if I cant kill it in one opening burst it is OP
Rangers- These guys are fine

Let me try:
Your character has a profession (Engineer, Warrior etc.) commonly called a class in other MMOs.
Your character can have 2 Crafts (Amorsmith, Cooking etc.) at one time.
I presume you’re talking about Crafts.

All I see is more and more content that encourages zerging in this game. With the addition of the megaservers, we literally cannot escape zergs.
I personally enjoy the challenge of doing things by myself, or in a small group, and relying on my skill. To me standing in a massive amount of particle affects pressing 1 is not heroic at all. I play video games to feel like I matter, feeling like you make a difference in this virtual world is exciting (which is what I imagine is the reason many people play, even if they don’t want to admit it.) Zergs/Zerg content takes that epicness out of the game, and forces you back into the reality that you are just one tiny being amongst many, and it really doesn’t matter if you press one or not, things will just continue as they were anyway.
What happened to the epicness of this game? The feeling of being a hero? If you look at the personal story, the reason so many people hated it was because it was all about Traherene. People want to feel like the hero, like what they did is awesome and made some difference. Maybe I’m just too much of a fantasy lover, but Guild Wars 2 has lost that appeal to me now. The megaserver took what semblance there was of that left and destroyed it. Now you just take a number and stand in line to receive your loot. It feels like a chore. Working for rewards that aren’t pleasing because in actuality all you did was run as fast as you can to press 1 as fast as you can so that you get loot before something melts.
I doubt anyone from Anet will read this, but honestly the zerg content and zerg centric changes are killing the game. There is no feeling of greatness, no epicness. Community destruction aside, even if you were guildless and didn’t belong to a tight community before, these zerg centric updates just take the fun out of the game. It makes me sad to see this game deviate so far from its manifesto. When did the players become mere numbers to be corralled, and ceased to be your loyal customers that you cared about?

ME: yea thats why you put the mega server cause there is just sooooo many ppl
Because I still don’t have a precursor.
Title says it all……
An until precursor crafting comes (if it comes), its vaporware…..
Before Megaservers were implemented, the Guild Wars 2 Roleplaying community was already fearful of what may happen to us and our ability to find each other and keep immersion.
I would like to quote a great suggestion from VoiceOfUnreason.
So… has there been any thought as to how you’d support the RP community with this new system? Is there maybe like… a checkbox we can have on our character select or in-game to say that this is an RP character? Then people with that option selected will have much higher priority for getting grouped in the same city as other RP players? I honestly doubt any considerations were being made here, as ArenaNet was probably more focused on just getting players together in general. But wouldn’t something like that be a fairly simple solution to the problem?
A Roleplayer Flag/toggle would be an excellent addition to the game. We are having a very difficult time finding other roleplayers and continuing with our events, as we are constantly being placed in different instances as others even if they are in our party, guild, or friendlist.
How it might work:
Toggle that you are a roleplayer, and you would get placed in the same server instance as other roleplayers, regardless of guild, party or friendlist.
This is just a suggestion.
I did five PvE dailies without touching the Orrian one. Not sure what the problem is here.

So I think I speak for everyone and not just me that the game has had some really bad lag and connection issues these past couple of days. I know it’s not my computer because I can play every other game and browse the internet with ease. Only GW2 has had issues. What’s going on with the servers? Why has the game been so bad with connections lately?
This is the best update yet, thanks ArenaNet!
There is a little change I’d like to see to the hero window and that is to add three tabs for equipment, wardrobe and dyes instead of what we currently have.
It kinda annoys me a little bit. :P
It will be much faster if we had tabs when mixing and matching different armor pieces and dyes.
I would like to see the SKIN’s NAMES clearly. As was before!
For example, “Azureflame” instead of “Zojja’s Greatbow of Fail”
Guess I’m not alone with this… Please support me! w/+1

Hey guys,
As some of you have noticed, reward tracks are capped at TWO TIERS a day if you are playing in custom arenas. This is intended to prevent botting in custom arenas. There is NO LIMIT to how much progress you can make on reward tracks if you are playing in solo or team arena. Just wanted to clear this up!

Good morning fine GW2 fans and ArenaNET people (at least its morning where I am). I am groggily writing this as I recuperate after three long days at the Penny Arcade Expo in Boston. It was a great time! But onto the crux of the conversation I want to start.
Where the heck is GW2’s marketing department? Why are they not pushing this game outside of strictly GW2 markets? I’m talking about representing themselves at community events (PAXEast and other game conventions) and online outside of specifically GW2 communities (MMO Champion as an example).
At PAX I spend most of the convention just talking to people primarily because my wife works in the industry so I tend to support her at panels and doing some husband as forklift jobs while she’s doing interviews with devs and folks. I spoke to dozens of complete strangers about what games they play and what they thought of the MMO scene in general (given that really there is only Wildstar and Everquest NEXT in the AAA queue which is a little scary after years of having something new to look forward to). No one mentioned GW2 and when I brought it up the reaction I got from a lot of people was a shaked head followed by “Its sad that it failed”. When I explained that economically the game is actually doing quite well and has delivered content more regularly than any MMO I am aware of I was universally met with disbelief – the average MMO player seems to equate GW2 with SWOTOR and Warhammer Online (as games that have ceased to create content outside of things to buy… or simply ceased being).
I’ve gone to PAX for four years. Outside of the PAX prior to release, ArenaNET has never really been active at the convention and even then it was just on the panels, never with a booth. This year apparently Jon and Colin were onsite but they had a room completely separate from the convention (it was in the adjacent hotel) and it was for Press only.
GW2 is a great game. I’ve been playing MMO’s for over a decade and GW2 is the first that I really just fell in love with. I play everyday, I play PvE and WvW and ever so occasionally sPvP (although I have begun watching the tournament and those are really fun). There is so much content within the game! I honestly believe that even a modest booth with a game play demo would have resulting in hundreds of game sales. Heck, there was a THREE HOUR wait at the Microsoft Booth to play Killzone on the Xbox One. That game has been out for six months and I think it would be hard to argue that their level of content has increased even at a fractional level where GW2 has a year worth of bi-weekly updates and a movie that summarizes new content and changes!
Your forum community managers are superb. Your game and design are impeccable (not to say improvements can’t be made, but you tend to make them). But its time for ArenaNET or NCSoft to reach out to top notch professional marketing teams that can trot the product around (the less said about the live action GW2 commercial from just post launch the better).
Next year at PAXEast make sure you have a presence. Look at Bioware’s model, this year they didn’t have their booths and didn’t have high profile panels, but they did setup their own room in the convention hall and have trailers for their games past and present rolling, writers, devs, and community managers available to talk to fans and I think they are going to walk away with a lot of both awareness and good will.
If this weekend was any indication, the greater community seems to have forgotten that your game exists, do not let them. I’m writing this as someone who is VERY invested in your game, world, and future prosperity.
