I think you missed the part where Guildwars 2 is the sequel to Guildwars 1.

In their example, you now get a reward for collecting spoons all across Tyria. You will get AP and a reward. Don’t ask what kind of reward because until it’s out, no one knows.

It’s pretty obvious it will be a spoon backpiece.

Don’t forget, one time only, if you are hacked one more time, i dunno if they will understand that much after. They’ve helped me regain my account in 3 days and i was impressed that was so fast since on those days many ppl got problems being hacked.

I’m very impressed with this. Most games hold the policy of “if you get hacked, it’s your problem”, so I’m glad ArenaNet went to those lengths to sort your problem out

I wanted to thank the entire GW2 staff that helped me quickly to regain my GW2 stolen account yesterday. I have never provided my game data, any password or anything else to anyone in my entire life. Now I’m trying to figure out how it is possible that the thief is aware of both the passwords of my email and the password of the game. Yesterday I tried to log into the game and I found out that my account had been linked to GW2 Mobile Authenticator, which I never did. Of course he did this to give himself time to sell everything I had gained painfully in 2 honest years of playing. The thing that makes me more ‘cringe is the thought that this person was “parked” in my email for most of the day. 1. He logged in my game without changing my password. 2.He connected the game to the Mobile Authenticator. 3.He has waited for the arrival of the email that asks you to accept the new IP address with which you are accessing the game. 4 He accepted the change of IP and then deleted the email. 5.He logged in my character and he has sold at TP: More ’4800 globes of ectoplasm, hundreds of of Orichalcum ingots, all my endless tranformation tonics not account bound, all my crafting materials T5 and T6. I had more ’than 1000 gold and I only had 600 on me and more’ than 300 to withdraw from the TP. Probably he is not been able to send all my gold to himself because he needed to pay taxes on everything that he was selling at TP or maybe for the timely intervention of the staff of GW2 that has locked him while he was still intent to commit a crime! Thanks to the staff of GW2 I got a rollback of my account to 1 September, so if I missed something, it’s really little … maybe a dozen gold earned in the day. I want to again thank the staff members of GW2 that have helped me to not see down the toilet two years of play … also because I was determined to stop playing, if I had to continue after being robbed of almost all of my belongings. I recommend you guys … change the passwords of your emails and of your games more ’often as you can, create them complicated, use a powerful antivirus and antispyware and never share your information with anyone!

They are so when you go underwater you don’t drown. That said, I do wish they’d just convert them to a cosmetic thing that clips though existing helms rather than an entire inventory slot that overrides helms.

Yes, I am fully aware that we could’ve gotten so much more, I mean, who does not want to run a top tier blood magic necromancer and be good with it right?

But for the love of our good God, there were some solid changes… Axe animation rework makes the weapon more fluid in use, Warhorn change actually gives Necromancer a long lasting boon of which they do not have frequent acces to and will gain them some ground faster, Dagger cleave is… okay I guess?
Corrupt Boon was “needed” in the name of counterplay, and I am just happy that the aftercast decreased…

But then a major thing catched my eye… Interacting in Deathshroud!

Anyone saying that this is “not noteworthy” is a filthy liar! This change was much needed, and finally it was acknowledged by Anet that it could work out for Necromancers so much better without breaking the system… You have a solid reason to slot “Foot in the Grave” now since it will secure stomps and resses – this, whatever you may say otherwise – is a huge improvement in terms of teamplay, and yes, in actual sustain for us as well!

Be more positive! We did not get nuked into oblivion, we got some good QoL changes that will subtly but surely change our gameplay in the end, I am sure of it!

Again, yes, we could’ve gotten some “major buffs” or w/e, but for once, you should try to look at it more positively instead of drowning in your tears! We are by no means the ones that should cry, instead we should feast on the tears of our enemies!

Did this need a new thread? Maybe, I just wanted to give you all a more brighter view on the changes… Cheer up, if anything, it could’ve been worse!

The level system for me starts to look like :

So if you level up now .. absolutely nothing happens, since that will only confuse you,
and to minimize confusion you only get some traits and stats and whatever only
all 10 levels.

Next step : now you play as level 1 character until you have collected enough exp
to directly level up to 80 .. that will give you less confusion and a much better feeling
of beeing rewarded if it happens.

Yeah, I saw your comment in another post, but it’s exactly what I mean. Spot on!

Since theres been much debate about the upcoming Feature Pack update and its announcements ive been wondering which are the Top 3 Features that you wish be added to this?

Features as in enhancing some function mechanics or Interfaces not content…

as for me:

1. Traits – Utility Skills – Weapons and Stats Template Preset System.
2. Mini Pet Specific Utility Slot ( w options to auto take out when not present , hotkey to put out or hide)
3. Option to remove Engineer Kit Backpacks…

whats yours? those 3 in order of priority for me

2. Minipets travel no more than ~1 meter behind you, not the mile down the road we have now.
3. More ways to customize character appearance. Slot for non-weapon specific auras ect. Maybe give every race the option of body tattoos?

Also inb4 this turns into the “my ideas are more deserving than your ideas” kittenstorm we all know it will become.

Connection error(s) detected. Retrying…

1. Build Templates – The ability to save traits, utilities, weapons, and equipment as a template so a player can switch builds with the click of a button.
2. Observer Mode – An option to spectate and review high-end PvP matches after they have been played from a UI window, the same way GW1 did it.
3. Dyeable Weapons – The ability to apply dyes to weapons and not just armor, just like how GW1 did it.

What do people want from an expansion?

I see quite a few posts about expansions on the 1st page. What exactly is the most important feature of an expansion for everyone?

more levels?
more zones?
more gear?
another race?
another class?
A larger story arc?
dungeons?
new features like raids/guild housing etc?

what’s the main reason behind an expansion that can’t be done through LS releases?

Today I have to help my real friend run ‘World summit’ Story line for AP.
He failed almost 10 times but I’m not here to complain about difficulty. (which is not, for me)

Gameplay is fun and all.
Storyline is ok.
AP hunter have things to do.

But something ruined it all.
Yes your proudly present dialogue that player have to go through repeatedly for each attempt.

World Summit has 5 min dialogue. 10 try = 50 min without AFK. (AC 3 run)

As I recalled Anet always respect player’s time.
like…don’t have to run half map to return quest.

Pls let’s us skip all repeatedly dialogue and straight to the fight.
So we player can use that extra 50min in the game some where else. (and enjoy it)

Have you seen what happens on these forums if something that have been announced is ever changed even in the slightest way?

That’s pretty regular in the gaming industry. If it’s subject to heavy change, let the community know. It won’t eliminate upset fans, but it will minimize their numbers.

I think one of the reasons Anet doesn’t make future announcements anymore is because as soon as they say “we’re working on X” or “we’re looking into the possibility of Y” half a year later people will start complaining “you promised us X and Y, where are they?

And isn’t that normal? I don’t see the issue here.

U know the community wants X…….u promise to give X….u make X your priority and u deliver it when u say…not replace X with Y and expect the community to feel good about the replacement while indefinitely postpone X.

A company that promises a car and delivers a bike postponing indefinitely the car, seems like a serious company to u? To me it doesn’t. So them loosing our trust after numerous similar situations is only natural.

The sentiment of having to know “what they plan on doing” is exactly because they didn’t give us what we want (or be years late…i mean seriously…WvW feature pack 3 new colors hard to add bro..took 2 years). It’s like wanting to verify they actually put our needs/demands/requests on their list. That’s the whole source of the problem.

If i knew that what i want would definitely come in the promised timeframe or atleast see work done on it, i would never even think of their roadmap.

What I mean is that Anet says they might implement something, and as soon as they do that people will consider that a definite promise even if Anet never promised anything, they just said that it might be something they’d add in the future.

Dungeon grouping - the real solution.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: ZeftheWicked.3076

ZeftheWicked.3076

Problems:
1. Two buddies/guildies/jerks kick others “because”.
2. Dungeon owner rage quits, all goes to pot.
3. Party remainds more of an airport – ppl fly in and out before you know it.

Solution
1.Rather then paying out the dungeon reward at end, split it among dungeon chests that appear after you’ve beaten certain dungeon bosses.

Each such chest is subject to “daily clear” detrimental rewards system – full reward on first loot, much smaller for next, untill next day.

2. Majority vote on kicking.
3. Ownerless dungeons, which you’re already implementing. But only when first two fixes are present!

Result
You get rewarded as you progress, if you get booted at 60% of dungeon completion, you already have at least 40% of rewards in your pocket if not full 60% (getting to chest before they kick you). Kicking lfg members before end boss to sneak guildies in won’t ring anyone’s bell, with measely 20% reward from this scam.

Ragequit leaders won’t crush the dungeon, “airport” parties will not see their final members get full reward, while all the previous got near zilch.

You can thank me later :>

Please add restrictions to kicking.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: eekzie.5640

eekzie.5640

Now with the upcoming changes to instance ownership it’s going to be more important that people do not get kicked for the wrong reasons.
Having ownership transfer if the instance owner leaves is awesome… but the side effect is that it could also open the floodgates to the cesspool of nastiness through the votekick system.
It will be too much of a no-mans land when you go and use the LFG function. Nobody has any authority and it’s creating a very volatile party system.
It’s also very troubling that you can now kick people at the end of a dungeon, with a high barrier for repercussions for doing so.

Therefor there needs to be some restrictions.
I feel there needs to be some discussion had on how far these restrictions should go.
People should not be worried that they might get kicked for bad reasons.

Ideas of restriction

- You can’t kick the creator of an instance / ‘’party leader’‘.
- Party leader can assign who is or isn’t open for kicking.
- Kicking requires 3 votes
- Kicking someone in combat requires 3 votes
- Kicking someone who has left combat less than 3 minutes ago requires 3 votes
(kicking afk people should still be a valid reason, kicking people cause they have to use the bathroom quickly shouldn’t).
- New system where there’s a party leader who has tools to influence the kicking from the party (such as amount of votes / immunity for other players as well). Can vote for a new party leader if that person is afk for [x] minutes. (Going offline counts as going afk)

Now the biggest issue there is, what is a valid reason for kicking someone… and when is it “fair” to do so.
For me personally it’s mostly when people fail to communicate with the party.
Not doing what is expected of people can lead to frustrating situations but I personally feel that, unless it’s done to create that frustration, it’s not a valid reason to do so.
And a bad attitude.

I’ll expand the list with idea’s provided by others in the topic.

Don`t Be Greedy

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Immensus.9732

Immensus.9732

To all players: don`t be greedy. The content you are getting every 6 months is equal to a full expansion in other MMOs. New areas? EOTM, Southsun Cove, Dry Top (and 2 pvp maps) . New features? Wardrobe, Traits, New armors/weapons. New content? this is kinda lacking but still, 1 new dungeon, dungeons paths, fractals, SAB. AND ABOVE ALL, Story wise: we are getting roughly 1-2 hours of story play every 2 weeks, lets do the math, on average we get 1.5 hours SO… 1.5H every 2 weeks on a 6(?) month Season = 18 Hours of story, that is equal to a 60$ worth new Single player RPG story amount, the only difference is that you getting it for free, and you getting it 2-3 times per year. Thats a lot of effort, i my self can be disappointed sometimes with some features that we havent got yet that i think are essential if you want to make your MMO competitive, like Housing, Dueling, more legendaries etc. but we got to think that the Devs are people too and there have limitations on how much they can produce. The only thing that they should probably do from their perspective is become more open to the players and start talking about things on development more often and with honesty.

Experience Scroll Solution

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Kitsumeo.8754

Kitsumeo.8754

Hey,

I can complain about the 2e year Experience Scroll being 20 again and that it doesn’t stack, but instead I was thinking why not give my point of view how to solve the problem of those scrolls getting stacked up and being almost useless for players that have been playing the game for 2 years.

My Solution:
Put an npc in the game (Example: the Birthday vendor with an extra tab.)
where you can use your Experience Scrolls to upgrade them to either:

  • 1: Trade the experience scroll for x amount of Tome of Knowledge.
  • 2: trading 2 level 20 scrolls for a level 40 tome
    3 level 20 scrolls for a level 60 tome
    4 level 20 scrolls for a level 80 tome
or something like that x+x = something usefull

Hope to see the scrolls getting more useful.

Kind Regards,

Are necros that horrible?

in Necromancer

Posted by: Sors Immani.8429

Sors Immani.8429

Bottom line is: roll a necro anyway and see if its playstyle fits with your own. A lot of players call it a selfish class, I call it a self-sufficient class.

Maybe it’s just my playstyle, but I’ve had unparalleled survivability with my necro opposed to any other class. In dungeons, I utilize this feature to rez teammates when killing the creature for a rally is too long in the tooth. When not, I’ll tackle the enemy one-on-one to secure a rally for my fallen comrades.

Are there other professions that bring more team utility? Certainly. However, I make up for my lack of team-wide buffs by being a solid player. I minimize the variables brought forth by bad players. The damage I bring to the table, the rallies, and the other minor things (trap disabling, etc) are my party utilities. The other 4 players need only concern themselves with the dungeon at hand.

I see a necromancer as a ‘free agent’ in dungeons. We don’t give anything, nor should we need anything.

In spvp, its always do-or-die. It makes victory that much sweeter while blunting the edge of defeat: when you win, you get blasted as OP or hear “blahblahblah2ndhealthbarwahwahwah”, and when you are defeated, you opponent has no victory to bask in: you have no choice but to take any CC on the chin, to soak up any damage directed your way.

I cannot vouch for WvW, as that is not my scene. I’m sure others could (and already have) elaborate on this in my stead.
