Improve endless tonics random transformations

in Suggestions

Posted by: Luthan.5236

Luthan.5236

I just bought the endless cat tonic for 100 laurels and I like the house cat transformation. There is another thread where someone complained that the transformations are random.

I think some of the other endless tonics in the game are also random.

Since it is endless and you can just spam try until you get the transformation you want why not remove the randomness ant let us choose it directly?

Maybe some way to “attune” the tonics could be implemented.

Also for endless cat tonic someone suggested to increase the time. I think it is 5 minutes only and 15 minutes would be better. And someone else wanted more cat transformations(frome “cat rooms” no cat skin is included in the cat tonic).

Please support this thread… saw a few other threads about endless cat tonic only with only 1 post and I think we need 1 strong thread for all the endless tonics out there.

Hopefully as time goes one a few more people will buy an endless cat tonic and post here in the suggestions forums.

Are megaservers broken?

That’s the only explanation I could come up with. What else could it be?

From what I understand, megaservers use an algorithm to determine on which “channel” (let’s call them that) players best fit, depending on their home world, guild, friends, and other variables, so that they can play with people they know. However, I keep getting thrown on channels at complete random!

It simply doesn’t matter on which channel my friends, my guild or even my own party members are, since nearly four time out of five, I am on the wrong channel. It’s even happened more than once that my party members were spread out on three different channels after a single map transition! What’s up with that?

I sometimes try relogging to join friends and guild members who are all on the same channel (instead of creating a party with one of them and using the “Join in…” option), and I sometimes go through three or four other different channels before landing on theirs, and even then, it takes umpteen tries to get there. The pattern seems to be completely random, too (e.g. 1, 2, 3, 2, 3, 3, 3, 1, 2, 1, 3, 2, 2, 4).

As of right now, megaservers are extremely confusing. The game tells you on which map your friends and guild mates are, but chances are you’ll never find them there because the game does not indicate when they are on a different channel in any way. I even sometimes forget about it and wonder why I can’t see my party members when I seem to be standing on top of them on my minimap!

The solution? Simple! Take example on the original Guild Wars and let us see on which channel we currently are, and let us select on which channel we want to play. No more confusion, no more restriction, and no more complaints!

Oh, and add an extra channel for roleplayers, and everyone couldn’t be happier!

If you were involved at all with City of Heroes then I can understand why here it feels like the devs are ignoring us because in CoH you really felt you could have a two way conversation with Paragon’s devs. They would tell us why X was hard or why Y got delayed. If you were willing to engage the devs with a modicum of respect you didn’t get the impression that they were treating you like mushrooms. But CoH was a fairly tight community especially toward the end.

There’s 10x more people just in the EU/NA that bought this game than CoH/CoV. That simply increases the number of people who will take offense that the Devs aren’t listening to them. The Noise to Signal ratio would be so high if they attempted anything that resembled the dialog we had in CoH/CoV that it’s understandable why they don’t bother.

If every post listing intent is treated as a sacred blood oath I wouldn’t want to poke my head out again until I’m 100% sure.

We are heroes. This is what we do!

I think I’ve felt both frustration and optimism about this game. The way I think about it is this….

Playing Guild Wars 2 is like taking your second-choice date to prom.

You’re happy. You will have a good time. There’s nothing wrong with your date. But it wasn’t the date you really wanted. And the more you think about wanting that other person, the less happy you’ll be.

I think most of us wanted more from GW2. That doesn’t mean the content we got is bad, though. I’ve gone back and forth with the Living World strategy – it reached a high point around the Bazaar stage and I remember saying, “Oh man! They’re getting their feet under them! This is going to be great!”

Then we had a few more disappointing releases and a lot more open-world zergfests.

I believe ArenaNet is a company of smart people who care deeply about this game but are working in a severely limited development environment. I don’t know if it’s because the code is a mess or the tools aren’t quite right or the engine just can’t handle the art they wish they could do or what. I’m utterly perplexed that they haven’t expanded the world we play in yet, 18 months in. I question whether zergy overflow fests are really the way of the future. I mourn the loss of each guild member who leaves (or stops representing) my small community so they can kill Tequatl or Wurm with TTS instead.

All that said, because ArenaNet is full of smart people who care, I think they’re also able to take the feedback we’re giving them and do better. Remember, they’re trying something new and expecting them to get it right the first time is maybe expecting too much.

I think Living World Season 2 will be a bellweather for this game’s future and I really hope they succeed.

Anyway, that’s my two cents.

I might further add that compared to your vision that you guys at ArenaNet announced in regards to Guild Wars 2 back in it’s development. You have unfortunately fallen short. The grinding element is abundantly presaent, while not as bad as other games, it is still there. You’re guild system has also seemed to fall short. You wanted something for the casual player but guilds have become competetive in a way that contradicts your vision. You gave us the ability to be in more than one guild, yet that is all for naught when so many of the guilds that I have seen require you to represent only them, hindering your interactions or getting you kicked from other guilds who may or may not possess the same mentality. I know you guys at ArenaNet can do it. You’ve done it before, maybe you just need to take a step back or something though? I don’t know. But there is so much untapped potential that you have left open with this game. so many great things to add or expand on, but you don’t seem to be doing it. I want to visit areas that you tease about in the game but don’t grant access, I want to play the Tengu or at the least see their part of the story. There is so much more there though. You wanted us to be our characters in a way, but it feels more like watching a character than Guild Wars 1. I don’t care how per-determined my story is, but I want to have my character my way. I’m among the disappointed carry overs from Guild Wars 1. Though unlike many of them. I was expecting something different. I knew that I couldn’t have Guild Wars 1 and an open world with a living environment very easily, even though that would have been awesome. But I did expect a form of expansion on the game play. I didn’t expect, nor did I desire a completely new system when the one before it had worked so well. If you want to go down this road though, that’s fine. But if this is your true choice, can you please revitalize Guild Wars 1 for those of us who crave it. Give us what happened between Guild Wars 1 and Guild Wars 2 with it as more expansions. I’d pay for it gladly as would others. I’m not among you developers, however, I find the Guild Wars franchise holds a lot of sentimental value with me. I don’t want to see it die. I don’t want to see it fail or dry up. I wish that there was something that even I myself could do to make this game better, to make the franchise better. I want to see it grow. I want to see it level the playing field. I want to hear the term “Guild Wars clone” rather than “WoW clone” one day. But this current state that Guild Wars 2 is in is not going to achieve anything but the reverse right now. You had so many great ideas, and you still do, but you’ve drowned so many of them out with repetitive mechanics that are so easily found in other titles. Please ArenaNet, I know I am but one player, but I do not stand alone, please, show us your vision that brought us in in the first place. Let those like me, and allow yourselves, to grow this sapling into a glorious tree that will one day overshadow the rest. I know that your hands and minds are capable. I can only hope that you do as well and that you guys can pick your game back up (both literally and figuratively). Here’s to hoping.

To the much adored ArenaNet and my fellow players and fans,

I may not have been around since the searing struck Ascalon or to be there when the Lich intercepted the scepter of Orr, or even to witness the malevolent and deceived Shiro Tagachi rise again with his army of The Afflicted. But I was around to play through it and witness their telling just the same. Better yet I was at least around to witness the dawning of nightfall as the Sunspears fought valiantly against the ensuing clutches of a forsaken god in order to protect the wonders of Elona and the world. I was also there to witness the emergence of the Destroyers in the Far Shiverpeaks if Tyria. And then once more I bore witness to the truce between both Human and Charr and the still ensuing battle against the Elder Dragons.

I am that player who loves a good story but also loves to be submerged in it, not alone, but with others in a multi-player setting. This is what attracted me to Guild Wars and now again Guild Wars 2. You guys at ArenaNet are excellent story tellers. I actually found myself attached to Tybalt and I cried when he was lost at Claw Island (please please please please don’t tell me I was the only one…). You’re doing such an excellent job. However I do hold concerns, not with your story, but your game play.

Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 are and forever will be among my favourite stories of all time. However that is the story, not the game itself. Guild Wars 2 despairingly succeeds at feeling excessively repetitive. Most of this actually lies within the combat however. I miss the personal play style diversity that was allowed in the first Guild Wars. I had so many different ways that I could try and build, so many combos and ideas, different ways to take on a challenge. Now, don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love the weapon system that has been introduced with Guild Wars 2; but it gets stale and boring. I feel so limited. I don’t feel… unique in how I battle my darkest of foes. It just feels like I’m swinging my sword with style. But just swinging a sword with style doesn’t make you a sword master. It doesn’t make a Norn boastful. I wan’t a choice in HOW I swing my sword and it what style I swing it. Is my focus to cripple? or maybe all I care about is making you bleed to death? or maybe I feel like being Stabby McStab Stab for a little bit. The idea, which is still a truly fantastic idea, is now running dry and getting stale. Otherwise, I love that the Trinity system is gone, I don’t miss that sack of wet slimy Grawl pelt one bit. But I still feel governed by a commandant that says “Thou shalt not swing your hammer in an upward motion” or “Thou shalt not combo knock down spells”.

Is there any glimmer of hope that this might change?

Sincerely, a hopeful fan.

Creativity is my weapon of choice my good sir.

So I enjoy coming on the forums and checking what people are saying and what not and I’ve noticed something that is sorta bothering me.

Why is it that the devs only respond to threads that are either about “not being able to purchase gems” or “customer support tickets?”

Now I’ve seen in the past where a dev might say “We’re really busy doing blah blah blah. We do read the forums, it just takes a lot of time to respond.”

To me that just doesn’t make any sense. Why not respond to more than just two types of threads? Are they nervous to get involved? I know people can get upset sometimes but I don’t believe the forum community would bite their heads off…

Cloth needs to have a gathering function, similar to ore and wood. It’s really that simple. Since most cloth sources come from either an animal or plant, it wouldn’t be too unrealistic to use the sickle as it’s gathering tool.

Edit: (Had to grab this from my other post a few months back)

Examples:

Jute – Is made from a vegetable fiber. Add some plant nodes to the world, which can be harvested with the existing scythes, which give us jute scraps when harvested.

Wool – Comes from various animals. Technically ‘wool’ is from sheep, but goats and rabbits would suffice too. This might require an additional harvesting tool (sheers), although the scythe might work, but sheep and rabbits exist in the game already. Maybe make some of them into harvest-able ‘nodes’ and let us sheer some wool scraps from them.

Cotton – Also a plant. Would work similarly to jute.

Linen – Again, also a plant. Comes from the flax plant, so again could work like jute.

Silk – Comes from insect cocoons, typically the best known comes from a moth, but fro game purposes there are any number of furflies, and such which could potentially offer ‘cocoons’ for collecting.

Gossamer – The definition of this is ‘a spider’s web’ or ‘a very light, delicate material,’ so let us harvest it from certain spider’s webs.

Don’t look at me like that. Whatever you’ve heard, it’s probably not true.

Nah Bloin, you forgot that you can’t farm cloth. You have to salvage drops for cloth.

You can farm ore and wood until you’re blue in the face. Trust me, I am blue in the face because that’s what I’ve been doing so that I can buy the last few bits that I need for my Sunrise.

The price difference between ascended cloth, leather, metal and wood is a reflection on the fact that drop rates for leather items is quite high, and you can farm ore and wood.

Cloth drop rates suck by comparison, even silk.

My posts are facts as I know them, or my own opinion, and do not represent any guild.

What’s this? You have to pay for DLC expansions?

What insanity! It’s like ArenaNet is doing something every other company doesn’t do!

Oh wait, they are… by having it free if you log on for even 1 second within 2 weeks of the update’s release.

Honestly, you don’t even have to pay the content. Just turn on your computer (laptop or desktop), run GW2, go away, come back a couple hours later, log in, let the loading screen occur (go do something if you want), and then close once you see the game itself.

Family? Work? School? Vacation? If you cannot even spare 5 non-consecutive minutes then I think you have bigger problems than “I have to pay for releases that others got for free! QQ”

Like time management issues.

@Dizzie: No game in existence will ever give you an expansion for free. If you want new content, you’ll have to pay for it just like you’d have to pay for the base game. GW2 isn’t free to play, it’s buy to play – buy once and have it for eternity or your account’s permabanned. GW1 was the same, and you had to buy each campaign and expansion. Season 2 is different in that you have a chance – like a reversely rigged lottery (where it’s completely in your favor) – to get it for free. And it won’t disappear, ever.

Dear ANet writers,
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.

So I’m glad the story is written that way! Just wanted to add my own opinion that I’m quite happy the focus is on the tasks at hand, not my reputation.

It’s difficult to incorporate the PC in dialogue because you can’t be voiced, and the NPCs can’t use your name in voiced dialogue. I would rather it be this way because nothing much can come of pointing at the PC other than ego stroking.

For another thing, the teamwork with Destiny’s Edge 2. Compare the opening of LW1, where we were alone and completely in the dark and questioning norn refugees, to the start of LW2 – still confused, following a vague lead about out of control vines, but when we arrive there, we have five characters to greet us. Five characters we’ve been through quite a lot with already, who accept our presence with no big fuss because we’re already friends. And because the LW is time sensitive, we really have met these characters several months ago, which feels like a genuine growth of camaraderie.

They’re your guild, your warband, or your krewe. There’s a reason the different races have their unique words for banding together, it’s an important concept. It’s literally the name of the game, GUILD Wars, massive MULTIPLAYER online. I know it’s not all that great when you dislike the characters themselves, but with the diversity between them, there should be at least a couple you can be fond of.

If you want to be the only character saving the world, go play a single player game. This is not that game and I’m liking it. Picking out your PC to heap all of the praise on them would be immersion-destroying in this big, diverse world. I like that some characters haven’t heard of me. I like that the LW is drawing on the unique strengths of the cast – Kas doing her portals to help everyone, Taimi’s fangirling, and the bits that were just for fun, like Rox being allergic to something (?). These characters are supposed to be my friends, so I don’t want to be elevated above them. Like one of the devs said elsewhere, praise for your character is much better and feels more deserved when it’s done sparingly.

I LOVED that we got some race and class-specific dialogue! I really hope it’s something that continues! It added so much personality to the scene, making up for the fact we currently can’t voice speak. As a sylvari this played out especially well for me. With a number of sylvari gone rogue in the story, naturally my cohorts have questions about how that works, questions I am ACTUALLY able to answer. I noticed this happening a bit at the end of LW1, with Scarlet dead, people were showing signs of overt racism towards sylvari – including me. They don’t necessarily know I killed her, but they have growing distrust towards my kind. I’ve never enjoyed racism so much! It feels natural and pulls me in to the unfolding events. I now want to get to the bottom of everything so I can prove I’m not bad, that my people aren’t bad, and now that Soundless aren’t bad – I’m pretty privileged that the story works this way for a sylvari I know. But THANK YOU WRITERS I’M LIKING IT A LOT THANKS. THUMBS UP! I’m the sole plant hero in a group that may even be growing suspicious of my motives!

Speaking of plants, I still don’t get why people heap so much dislike on Trahearne. I got to have a partner to complete my wyld hunt with. Did I miss something, or are the loudest forum-going players just unable to fathom NPCs with developed goals? The world can’t just sit there inert waiting for you to do something so it can applaud. And with the immensity of the undertaking in the personal story, it would’ve been illogical to do it alone.

I didn’t like EVERYTHING in the update, like, I was hoping to have seen the last of the aspect powers, but I can appreciate how interesting they make an open world landscape. I hate jumping puzzles with really fiddly scaffolding and puddles you can’t see, but the other achievements are straightforward, exploration based, and I think it all came together nicely. The strength of the LW for me really is the addition of new areas and challenging ways to explore them.

The buyable episodes of LW is a fantastic compromise, so now people can play at their own pace but it still has the sense of ‘really’ occuring on the release date. The LS benefits, in my opinion, from being slightly time restricted so we feel like the whole world of Tyria develops gradually. It would lose a lot of impact if every update were simply permanent stuff.

Oh and kudos on the varied cast of female characters! It’s a delight, it really is. I hope if arenanet happens across any of the “WHERE R THE MENZ?!?!??” posts here it’s just a blur as they scroll past. Being in a hero group with just one man in it (and a sweet and sympathetic one at that) – WONDERFUL.

tl;dr – I don’t want the improvements in the Living World to go without positive reinforcement, don’t listen to the ME ME ME crowd, put in more female characters because they’re great

Actually, you’re wrong about DPS being the only deciding factor. The core system relies on Damage, Support and Control, in all game modes and across all professions. No exceptions. The only reason people think it’s a DPS race is because of Berserker gear being the PvE Meta, but they forget all about sPvP and WvW where there’s an entirely different Meta.

  • Damage – Self-explenatory, but comes in two distinct forms: Direct Damage, and Condition Damage (DoT’s). In PvE, Direct Damage is favorable, especially in teams and against World bosses because Conditions Cap way too easily, and even those with lower Condition Damage can overwrite your conditions easily, and constantly. In sPvP and WvW (Roaming) though, where you’ll often find yourself in 1vX situations, Condition Damage can be beastly however, and it allows you to slot more Defensive stat combos to be effective compared to Direct Damage.

Guardian and Elementalist are typically Direct Damage professions, Necromancer, Engineer and Mesmer are typically Condition Damage professions, Warrior, Ranger and Thief are about equally good at both. Certain builds deviate from the norm, of course, so don’t feel locked down to either of the two because of your profession. Hybrid builds are generally not useful, it’s better to focus on either Direct or Condition damage.

  • Support – Support is the second cornerstone of GW2 and refers to the use of Boons, Conditions, Condition Removal, Heals, Blocks, Evades, Unique Buffs, Projectile Reflection, Wards and Combo Fields. Timing is everything, and I strongly advocate getting to know what kind of Support you can offer and to readily, and consciously, training to use it effectively just as you train to deal damage or dodge appropriately. Do not fall into the trap of thinking that you need Healing Power gear to be a good supporter, you don’t. What turns the tide in GW2 Is not Bursts of Healing, but correctly timed appliance of Boons, blocks and dodges.

Guardian is the undisputed king of Defensive support, bringing crazy levels of Condition Removal, Aegis, Heals, Projectile Reflection/Blocking, Wards, Protection and Stability. They’re also extremely good at stacking Might if built right.
Elementalist is the Queen then, bringing more Might and Fury buffs through their fire fields and blast finishers than any other profession. They can also spike heal by blasting Water Fields as well, and they’ve got a few more defenses lined up as well that can be used in a pinch.
Warrior and Ranger both bring unique buffs (Banners, Empower Allies and Phalanx Strength / Spotter and Frost Spirit respectively) to the party, making them useful allies at all times.
Engineer brings both Fire, water and smoke fields, amongst plenty of blasts, however they’re not as good as Elementalists in this regard and have lower overall DPS.
Mesmer brings portals, projectile defense and the wonderful Signet of Inspiration Boon share, but can’t reliably stack boons on the party themselves. They’re useful in certain situations, but mostly lose out to Guardians in that aspect.
Thief brings Loads of Stealth, Projectile Blocking and the only Energy Restoration skill in the game. Doesn’t sound like a lot, but what they have make a difference.
Necromancer brings almost no support to the team. They have some condition conversion and traits for support, but overall they’re much weaker than the other professions in this regard.

  • Control – The last, but not least, aspect of the GW2 trinity is Control, which refers to the use of Hard CC (Knocks, Stuns etc), Soft CC (Cripple, Blind etc) and Line of Sight (LoS). Knowing when and where to throw down Hard CC or Soft CC is the key to mastering Control, and it will show on the player if they know how to do it properly or not, so do not skip out on this practice either.

Guardian has a few Launches and Wards, but they really shine while Spamming Blinds and Vulnerability on enemies.
Elementalists have a few Hard CC skills, but lack a lot in terms of Soft CC.
Warrior have Loads of Stuns and Knocks, loads of Cripple, Weakness and Vulnerability.
Ranger have Good Soft CC, not a lot in terms of Hard CC.
Thief is The king of Soft CC, best Blind spammer of the professions, Perma-Weakness/Cripple, Loads of Vulnerability.
Mesmer has pulls, knocks, dazes and some soft CC. They generally rely on clones and stealth to mindgame other players.
Engineer is the jack-of-all-trades and brings a little bit of everything. They can easily stack loads of conditions on enemies in a flash. They mostly rely on Soft CC, but their Hard CC skills are usually quick and good for surprise moves.
Necromancer makes up for what they lacked in Support, with their Control ability. No other profession can use Fear as readily as they can and they have plenty of Chill, Weakness, Cripple and Boon Corruption/Removal.

Warrior – Wardancer | Guardian – Lorekeeper | Revenant – Vindicator |
Thief – Duelist | Ranger – Strider | Engineer – Technician |
Elementalist – Spellweaver | Necromancer – Warlock | Mesmer – Trickster |

I am going to take a more philosophical angle since TheSwede made an excellent job going over the technical.

My suggestion is forget about which are the best classes per-se, they’re not a factoring decision in Gw2 as they are in other games. Why am I saying this? basically in most cases classes dont have the limitation we’re generally used to in other games. each class in Gw2 can do damage, support or control. Its true some classes can do 2 of them a bit better but I dont think there is enough there to warrant worrying over. What makes a class different then another is how they’re played and how they achieve their roles. So if you like magic elementalist support will be conjuring rain, creating water gyzers. Elementalists control will involve, freezing, shocking mobs and damage will take the form of fireballs etc… If you play a necromancer support will take the form of marks, stripping conditions, control will take the form of skeletal hands grabbing enemies and fear. Damage will take the form of bleeding, poison and that dark stuff.

Classes do the same things more or less but use they’re own style to achieve it. At the end of the day I’d say its better to pick a class based on the style you like then based on what its best at.

The only thing to look out for is each class has its own unique mechanic… Elementalist get attunements, necro gets life force and death shroud, mesmers have shattering, warriors have adrenaline, thief has stealing and intiative, engineers have kits.. they provide a unique mechanic that differentiates one class from another and you might consider which ones you like / dislike when making your choice perhaps.

Hi guys, first of all, sorry for my english i know isn’t good but i hope you will understand my thoughts and my suggestions

PVE

Thoughts:

Intro:
I think this game have an awesome world and a wonderfull graphics, but the strongest point is classes… alot of classes with alot of potential mechanism!! LS is nice for have some new contents, and something different to do, and feel a world change around you, a dynamic world!!

Now lets talk about problems and suggestions

DUNGEONS:
We have, alot of wonderfull and different classes, statistics, utility etc etc, but this game will force u to go full berserker, and this is like to have a ferrari and use it only for go to the mountains… i’d like to have dungeon with different requirement, i’d like to see something like support/healer (i know gw2 dont wanna trinity so dont falme about that and go on) a “conditiomancer revenge” a control classes, and ofc the dps…

How to?
For example moa on dry top (i call him road runner :p) need to be cc every X seconds, notchli need to jump or stability etc etc.. some content like that in dungeon (but more focussed) should make the necessity of some different roles but not for boss only!!
Some mechanism could focus dungeons with different way of zerker, and should open a “new world” on the classes, and a general revamp. i have some ideas for make a viable conditioner, i suggest some conditions (bleeding, confusion, torment, burning, poison) should be applyed only if condition dmg is bigger than X, so a pure dps will not stack conditions destroying condition dmg of conditioner, and i think condition is really strong and with this way will found a big spot in pve contents..
Another understadable thing is all those skipping… i understood some content have to, like in ac, but have alot of those skip is orrible, remove this guys if u dont wanna make us fight him, and give us something different (not more jp pls)
And last but non least, all those corner and megadps… should be nice for some bosses, but this corner stuff is everywhere… also the spider queen after patch can be killed on corner, i’ve done alot of time, you just need more dps… like usual…
For solve this problem i suggest when boss is stacked in corner more than 5 second his life will be fulled, so player have to play it normally!!!
i’d like to see also different mechanism, for example someone have to go with mob defending him through the way, so u can use stealth as thief or engi, or u can heal him or tank or kill mobs with other classes, u dont need to fight, u just have to keep him alive, but you can do all that u want!!! this is just an example but you can use your immagination and go on…

i dont wanna make dungeons longer or harder, anet should change something, i’d like to have same timings and same difficulty, but just playing differently, and make viable all classes, with more different setups, now we will have all zerk, and you can just take a look on lfg for see how some classes is needed everywhere and some others will be just kicked everywhere, try to lvl up a necro for example or play a classes differently from the meta (full zerk) and good luck

ENDGAME

I think we dont really have and endgame (like raids in other games), fotm is the closest end game we have and the idea is cool, also mistlock and agony its really nice, but i think we should also need more, maybe more mini dungeon with different mechanism based on level, not just difficulty scaling, but also mechanism change…
I also have another idea, a new kind of dungeon, as endgame, with progression as fotm, with agony and mistlock on higher lvl as fotm, but with different dungeons and requirement, i present to you
“Future of the tyria” a new asura gate that bring you through the future!!! the future of tyria is in danger, and all the heroes is death, so the heros of the past have to save the future!!! the new gw2 endgame, requirement is full ascended gear and personal fotm lvl 40
lvl 1-10 is for 2 ppl only (not 5 ppl) 40ar required
lvl 11-20 for 4 ppl only 60ar required with mystlock
lvl 21-30 for 5 ppl 70 ar required with mystlock
lvl 31-40 for 8 ppl 80ar required with mystlock
lvl 40-60 for 12 ppl 90ar required with mystlock
Ofc this is just an example, but the principal idea is to have something for 2 players not ever 5, and at the end more than 5, a biggest group…

SPVP

I think spvp is just awesome, best mechanics ever!!!
what spvp need? different game mode, like capture the flag, deathmatch, competitive 1v1, 2v2 2 years and nothing changed this is so sad…
have different game mode will also make viable different build based on your role
no other suggestions atm

They should make Gem Shop outfits only time exclusive and add them to the loot tables after half a year.. That way, they still get their gem $ and everyone else gets something out of it too..

So there’s a new Shadow Assassin Outfit available in the cash shop. They could have made it craftable, giving leather workers a chance to make some money. They could have added it in a dungeon, giving dungeon runners something to shoot for. They could have added it in a chest spawning randomly throughout the open world, giving explorers something to look for. But instead, they simply dropped it in the cash shop.

The Shadow Assassin Outfit, as with so many new weapon and armor skins, could have been an actual in-game reward. But instead of the sense of accomplishment earning this new armor set would have given us, we’re asked to simply plop down our credit card and buy it. Where’s the fun in that?

Another thing I thought of that we need is for life blasts damage to not scale with weapon damage, so we aren’t forced to run staff to max out lifeblasts in DS builds, and so that we’re not punished for using death shroud with say dagger/warhorn active.

1) Yes, 100% agreed.

2) Kinda. Axe needs a full rework of everything except 3, LF generation isn’t so much an issue as the entire set is bad. Scepter AA is great already, sustain on top would be insane. Just make feast have a base LF generation with the scaling on top, maybe have 2 do a little as well.

Passive LF generation will never happen and I’m happy it won’t.

3) AI fix yes, also have them not attack unless I do (remove the aggro response to me/them being attacked).

General bug fixes would be nice, and there are a number of basic things:
Reduce aftercast of Haunt from 2s to 1/2 or 3/4s
Make Rigor Mortis an AA reset
Remove cast of Charge but give it a noticeable aftercast animation just before he charges for 1/2s (so he roars or does a noticeable windup like a bull would in a cartoon)
Putrid Explosion causes the minions to glow and jump towards the target

There are other things, but I have a reputation to uphold.

These are a few things about necromancers that I think need to be addressed in order to enhance the way we can tactically use our class.

First of all, I absolutely hate how in deathshroud, we are unable to see the cooldowns on our heal skill and utility skills. Since deathshroud can be used to soak up damage while we wait for our heal to come back, I don’t see why the 6-10 skills can’t be displayed in a grayed out way to show cooldown times but obviously prevent their use. The only counterargument would be if additional DS skills were added later on that would use those slots, which seems highly unlikely.

Secondly, this has been mentioned many times in other areas. Builds that don’t use MH dagger or soul marks struggle with building life force in a reasonable manner. Feast of corruption and ghastly claws aren’t enough to “sustain” a necro in a 1v1 or god forbid 1vx situation. I would suggest that the scepter and axe auto attacks have LF generation capability as well. Passive out of combat generation would be nice as well, but thats a non-issue in WvW groups, its just that smaller group pvp is where lack of life force can really screw the necro over, since LF is harder to build in a usable amount than say a warrior’s adrenaline.

Minions AI blah blah blah.

If anyone else has other ideas of how to make life more convenient for necros, feel free to post it here. Not necessarily in terms of how the class is balanced compared to others, but in terms of how details in its mechanics could be tweaked to make the necromancer a more effective class to use, especially strategically or reactively.
