Let’s try not to remove tactics from wvw.
We’ve been discussing this a lot recently and we agree that something needs to change. When we have a change that we are ready to talk about we’ll make sure to make it known to everyone.
Please don’t change the reviving lords mechanic. I think it is one tactical element of WvW and adds a lot of thrill to battles in the keep lord room. You should rather fix the lord leaving its place and running all over the keep. Everyone who asks for change of lord reviving should think about how this has saved T3 keeps for their server before.
We(Banners Hold) like this feature. without it we wouldn’t be Gunners.
Rally Lords is a job that people do with pride. Stopping a Enemy Mindless Blob from taking a keep is great. Loseing a conquest on enemy keep because they banner the lord 10x is great. Those warriors did there job and succeeded.
Ps. if this get removed we have to earn a new nick name: We already lost Golems Hold. we rather not lose Banners Hold.

while we didn’t get the keep we did fill our bags. I personally got a keg and an Exotic to go with the ascended ring I got earlier in the night.

And really… 27 times? LOL! Stop asking to nerf things like that. It’s hilarious and we all deserve to be allowed to pull off moments like that.
To me, if I want to wear a baseball cap into battle, I should have the option to do so. That the clothes disappear when I fight, that’s far too annoying for me. I can have a look here, but if I step four steps away I lose the look?
It’s nothing to do with taking four steps this way or that, it simply if you enter combat or take damage.
If you want to wear a baseball cap to work, that’s fine but depending on you job, you are going to get a fired, injured or even killed (because you should have been wearing a helmet instead of your favourit baseball hat). How hard a concept is it to grasp, not all clothes are appropriate for wearing to work, or in this game, in combat. If ppl don’t understand that, then they’re being stubborn and if they do but still want to wear them in combat, then they’re being unreasonable. About as unreasonable as me demading Tequatl as a Ranger Pet!
You can’t really compare the leagues to anything else, much less a competitive league. Using the guildwars 1 analogy … each team was limited to 8 players and each team was to field 8 players. That fasciliated a battle in which the higher skilled players won.
In guildwars 2 each team has a maximum number of people that can be battling at any time. Generally this is never reached except by the most populated servers on prime times.
Are you really complaining about people outside of Gold getting the same rewards as the people in Gold? This game isn’t set-up in a sense where higher tiered = better player. Higher tier pretty much = more population with vary few viarances between. If Gold was given better rewards than the others it just further compounds the issue of sever stacking.
I have played in on many severs all the way from 1st to 24th. I can tell you that nothing makes you work harder than being on the bottom where every fight is truly a battle. I find it Ironic how you want higher rewards in gold when in reality each player there (with some exceptions) does not have to work as hard as players in lower tiers. You can disagree with this but it is my perception from playing up and down the tiers.
Free transfers did nothing to balance servers and make Season 2 interesting.
It ultimately stacked just one or two servers while making others even more empty.
If this is what Arena Net wants, why not just make 6 big WvW Servers so all WvWers can just stack them.
I agree with you, don’t think anet cares as much about WvW compared to PvE tho =\, i enjoy the game but feel like the WvW aspect of the game isnt catered to much…
When players log into WvW, they should be assigned a certain color for 24 hrs based upon each color’s population and total points. This would even out matches and still provided a chance for players to defend the garrison etc. If a team of players enters WvW for the 1st time in a 24 hr period, they should be grouped together. This way, players could still enjoy the ability to play with friends. Then, for WvW tournaments, rewards could be placed on individual points accrued, with a higher prize range (ex: players 1-50 receive a legendary weapon, 51-150 receive an ascended weapon chest, etc.)
With the mega server update being released for PvE server balance, this change to WvW would relieve even more stress on servers as there would be no need/desire for a single server to be overpopulated as Blackgate is. Also, no one server would then dominate over the other, creating a happier gaming experience for all.
Essentially, this would be like combining the EotM gameplay with the server guesting system and megaserver matching system.

How long would that take? You want to earn the max amount of gold FAST!
it’s only bottlenecked by the speed of the trading post, all you have to actually do is place buy orders for stacks of 250 items, then place sell orders for the same stacks and do this over and over and over, if you find a profitable one and depending on the velocity of the market, you may end up with earnings of upwards to 1000g/hour.
The thing about the Trading Post is that it doesn’t introduce gold into the game, it actually removes it while moving it between players. In that vein, the Trading Post will always be the most powerful tool for those who wish to make tons of in-game money. You will never earn more gold playing the game than you could playing the Trading Post smartly. The reason is clear: playing the game creates gold, which must be regulated.
Silver league is very promising indeed, glad to see that ROF made it, they’re a nice comunity.

In a word, no. You need to play thief to understand how difficult it is to land a back stab whilst even crippled. Movement reduced by 50%? No one would run a melee thief, it would be impracticable and pain full.
Thieves are already getting hit hard with the upcoming crit dmg nerf. This would make the class almost unplayable.
Because only thieves use crit damage.
You still have stealth spam crutch to keep you from being killed. You’ll be fine.
GW 2’s invisibility is easily the most ridiculously overpowered stealth system of any PvP-game I’ve ever played.
Out of curiosity what would WvW fights look like if stealthed players moved half speed?
I have been playing a lot of stealth games lately and it seems the theme to them all is that stealth reduces movement. Could a slow moving mechanic attached to stealth make for better fights? Just asking.

Edit— just saw your reply to me. Yes, CDI’s work. But even on a larger scale. Somethun advertised frequently, taken place through twitch and scheduled to take several hours. I don’t think players on the forums are a great representation of the entire player pool. Just those willing or frustrated enough to actually communicate.

Conditions are the big kitten in WvW anyway, so it’s not gonna be that major.
It’s more of a PvE thing, toning down the damage of the top bracket.

Warriors get tons of stuff.
And by warriors I mean hambow.
And by stuff I mean sigils.
They should introduce a GM trait that unbugs your bulls charge and rush if chosen.

Yep. Be selfish. You don’t make money giving it all to charity.
The game doesn’t recognize you for your actions anyway. Buy the upgrade at a camp? No “Upgraded by Hule” plaque on a sign by the camp.
There are some rules I follow for this.
1. Always carry at least 4 blue salvage kits and at least 1 master salvage kit. You’ll need them for the next part.
2. Salvage everything. I do mean everything. Use the blue kits for Green or lower quality gear. Use the master kits for yellow or higher quality gear. Materials from salvaging even now more than ever sell better than if you sold the gear to the merchant. One salvaged piece covers the cost of the salvage kit usually.
3. One exception to number 2 is you should check prices and runes on Exotic gear you acquire. Most gear will be more profitable to salvage than to sell upright, but check anyway.
4. Open all Loot Bags. You will easily do at least 30 heavy loot bags per night. Open them. They’ll have T6 mats in them.
5. Open all Champion loot bags. In addition to a ridiculous supply of bloodstone dust you’ll get green or higher items.
6. Tag everything. This requires your wvw build to put out as much AOE as you possibly can (and why rangers aren’t so popular in wvw). The more you tag during a fight the more bags you get. You can tag the most targets on a necromancer or an engineer.
7. Ride the karma zerg and don’t be afraid to push into the fights with them. If they win the fight you get the bagz.
8. Let the commander drop siege. Don’t buy siege yourself. If you get siege drops sell them (unless you plan to command at some point, then save them). Dropping your siege frequently is a waste of money unless you’re the cmdr.
9. Don’t upgrade anything. You won’t see a return for your investment especially on higher tier servers.
10. Figure out a build for yourself and lock into it. Don’t change your build for a long time unless a balance patch hits. This is your biggest expense. Test a build in spvp. Builds there frequently work for WvW (not all the time though)
11. Don’t buy the 30 silver or 10 silver food. The lvl 60 food will do just fine and you can sustain it longer. If your commander drops food that works for your build use it instead.
12. After a WvW session return to your bank and SELL all the materials you picked up while salvaging.
You’ll net at least 15 gold per week if not more just from killing enemy zergs.

I use the blue kits on the green or lower quality items because using higher level kits often salvages the green rune/sigil off the item. Blue kits have a good chance of not getting that item. This goes a long way to keeping my bags empty so that I can continue to AOE loot. With all the green/yellow level sigils and runes just sell them to the merchant. They’re rarely worth anything.

They aren’t not releasing account WXP or WvW bugs out of spite against us (or so I hope).
Not its not spite or incompetence. I see it as more of the ‘office politics’ being played out.
Sacrx’ NDA leak highlighted the kind of politics that play out at ANet and a lot of what he said resonated with me at the time and made sense.
For me, the fact that account bound WXP isn’t released is more of this office politics playing out. It kind of reminds me of the commander tag.
The commander tag is useless except for being a huge dorito you see on the map. Devon said (like omg a year ago or so) that he wants to change how it works but nothing has happened since (much like account bound WXP). Whether its a barrier they created or someone else did, who knows.
As the general community, we’re just not privy to it.
So I’m sure a lot of people are pretty curious as to what is going on with wvw, account wxp, and a various other things that were not dealt with in this patch as we were hoping. It would be greatly appreciated by a lot of your players if you gave us a little bit of hope. A small description of what or when changes will be coming. If there will be class balancing soon. Rune and sigil revamps. Let us know what is going on.
Please don’t keep us in the dark on these things anymore. You guys used to be great and keep us informed. Now it seems a majority feels neglected as we have no idea what the near future of this game holds, and I sense that a lot of people are not looking towards the future positively. Ignoring us is only going to make things worse.
I know this thread probably won’t get a reply from a dev, but imagine a world where people felt like they were cared about. Wouldn’t that be a great place? A world where people could play a MMO and not have to debate if anyone is listening to their imput anymore. A world where the game loved us and much as we love the game. A world where I can continue to pretend I’m a hero with a magical greatsword that’s a window into space. A world that we want to save.
(yeah, trying to make a jab to the feels there)
Give us hope. Give us an answer to if anything better is coming soon.
