I don’t know if this works well in WvW or PvE for that matter, but I’ve tested this in Ranked and duels and have to say… it is very interesting !

I made this on accident by testing various amulets using my support build. I tried getting more accuracy and damage and found Seeker’s to be the best option. The sigils help quite a lot too.

Basically all you do is use port to grant insane mobility, boonshare (signet of inspiration, staff 3, shield 4), and deal DPS! While channeling the MoP you also grant AoE healing. Trust me you’ll be spamming MoP a lot.

It might seem glassy but it’s tankier than it looks. With all the heals / shatters there isn’t going to be an issue with health restoration.

Try out the rotations and combinations with staff / sw/sh and utilize the shatters any way you will.

So how does this compare to condi chronophantasma?

Well it has the mobility, it has the DPS, it has the CC, and it even has boonshare now! Plus it also does minor healing through MoP. I would like to note however that this build’s damage is akin to that of a bruiser (wear down til’ they die) rather than Condi Chrono’s bursty bursts that deal large damage in small bits. However this build does have bursts that can deal some massive damage (Sword 3 -> Sword 2 -> Sword 3 again -> Power Spike 2x -> Shatter is just one of the many combinations)

I’ve had a great success rate in both Ranked and dueling servers. I’ve only lost with it once to a great thief on a 1v1 server so far, and only lost 1 ranked game with it out of 5 games (or 6, can’t remember).

I can assure that it has a high skill cap but perhaps an increased skill floor akin to Condi Chronophantasma.

The fact you were able to hit Plat with this build shows it has potential. The group fighting engagement with this build is pretty great. I have yet to test it in Ranked but I’ve taken it to plenty of duels. I’ve even managed to defeat condi mesmers (and Thieves with Rampage xD)

I always worry I’ll get interrupted while channeling the Mantra. It’s why I dropped Mantra of Recovery. However I noticed that you’ll constantly be getting stability if timed well. If you kite your stability will be fine too.

Also about the 4.3k heals, I used the combat log and tested its effects on players. It clearly stated 4.3k heals. I came with the conclusion that the tooltip is bugged. It also doesn’t heal 2.8k to me, but about 3.6k. With constant quickness spam from shatters the mantra channeling will speed up leaving you with even more damage + healing.

Some of these matchups really are bad but it’s been like that since s1. The only way to make matchmaking a bit more “accurate” is if each character/profession had its own individual mmr. Even then, it’s a challenge for matchmaking to differentiate how a player performs in a given comp. Matchmaking reads numbers on a spread sheet but it doesn’t take things like Build & Team Compositions into consideration.

But the community voted for a no on Profession mmr because it would be bad.

They voted “No” on class locking before the match started. Whatever classes existed ingame were indefinite. Because of this there would be “class/profession MMR” and no class stacking to ensure the best experience. Thing is people can’t trust Anet / people thought class stacking was still gonna be a thing.

Ok so the second version doesn’t have any benefit to teamfights as much as the first. It feels amazing to share a ridiculous amount of boons in less than a second to your allies. Signet of Inspiration is a keep for me. I’ve had loads of fun with V.1 but V.2 needs some work. I’ll consider iDefender

Oh just came out of a game with 788k healing ( no pic ), Mantra of Pain’s healing is AMAZING! Heals about 4.3k to allies with 20% outgoing heals and best of all can be spammed like crazy. It also provides cool long distance damage

I just came here to say i love this build XD such a powerhouse. I spam all the elixirs and throw elixirs all at once then my last elixir is the elite. If I go rampage then the damage is insanely OP, feels like you’re in some sort of minigame

If there are no leaders, become one.

For example for the Ley-Line Anomaly events I always yell in map chat that the event will start, then I yell stuff like Hold CC, CC, Coals, etc.

MoR is definitely a good option. I chose the well to fit for a more casual approach to the build, but the mantra is definitely a solid option. 4 condi cleanses instead of 2.

I also chose the well due to the fact that it heals an extra 5k hp to allies (5.5k with outgoing heals or so), but the mantra is good for group condi cleanse. I feel like the mantra works a lot better with condi builds.

Oh and it also has a 10 second CD. I can see it having more potential than the well.

Playstyle:

- Basically you just spam the MoP while casting other spells during fights, because it provides areal healing. I haven’t tested this well against condition builds but I think it will still work. Against power builds you’ll essentially be invincible (YOU MUST KITE). AFAIK the biggest counters to this build are Necros but you have blocks and distortions which help mitigate damage from them. I haven’t died with this in a 1v1 (I’ve gone up against all kinds of thieves) yet but then again I only picked it up recently. I don’t think I’ve encountered good Mesmers though.

- Use shatters very often even when you don’t have illusions. I mean you can wait for illusions for the small heal benefits BUT having lots of boons applied quickly and spreading them out to your team is the best idea.

- If there are two Necros on the opposite team do not use this build! You’ll kitten your teammates. If there’s only one it’s absolutely fine.

- Spam all of your shatters during CS, maybe sneak in a well or two.

- The Phantasm on staff also spreads your boons to allies so make sure you’re near them while casting Phantasmal Warlock.

- Use Phase Retreat in Chaos Storm

- SPAM MoP!! =)

I hated HoT at first too, but as I did the map completion I got to figure out where leads where. Tangled Depths and Verdant Brink are the most confusing maps especially the former.

Also the enemies are difficult but manageable. As for the HPs ask map chat or if there is an LFG HeroPoint train then join it

Do the Renown Hearts (quests). I know it’s boring and a lot of them feel shallow but they rack your xp up quickly (plus you get a huge reward for 100% map completion!)

The best answer to this, OP, is that pacing varies for everyone. Some people will choose to grind dungeons, some will do map completion, some won’t level at all, etc.

Soldiers is for self-sustain.

Now I do run a Dagger/Warhorn auramancer NOT focus, so it’s focused more on group support (even though it can still bunker very well). Rune of the Monk’s extra healing / outgoing heal is amazing and really lets D/W shine.

With the condition cleanse sigils you get some self-cleanse too which is nice

Rev has 70% uptime on stab, on an 8s CD. And like messiah said, being CC’d means nothing to ventari.

Unwavering Avoidance isn’t a reliable source of stability: you can’t get stability if you don’t evade an attack and is particulary useless when you need to finish a downed enemy. They can refuse to attack, you can’t get stab, and when you try to finish they can interrupt your attempt with skills like Wave of Light (Guardian), Hammer Toss (Warrior), Forceful Displacement (Revenant), etc. Happens thousands of times a day in PvP. You have 0 control about when you will get stab, except when you play in a zerg and randomly spam evades under dozens of equally random attacks. That crap doesn’t work in PvP. Is also one of the reasons I usually don’t try to stomp with Revs, going always for straight cleave damage against downeds.

Whenever I go for a stomp I use protective solace to protect myself against projectiles, so Hammer Toss and Forceful Displacement are basically useless. It only takes about 7-8 energy away during the stomp process.

On – hit sigils mean that conditions will be rapidly re-applied. This will make condition cleansing basically useless.

We’ll see an all power dps situation. The damage will be seriously increased for all classes. So we’ll be right back to the old “zerker” meta that ANET was so concerned about changing a year or two ago.

No bunker or condi build is going to withstand constantly applied bleed or what-have-you.

This idea is a step backward, not forward.

You’re blowing the sigils out of proportion. The condis that are applied on-hit are really weak. One stack of bleed is nothing. Bleed is the weakest condi in the game but the longest duration. It’s very susceptible to being cleansed.

With our current on-hit crit sigils like Sigil of Torment and Sigil of Earth this already occurs. No player has an issue with it though because it’s insignificant. Sigils are supposed to be tiny additions to a build NOT an entire component. Heck I bet you could remove sigils entirely and not notice a difference.

There isn’t anything that will destroy any meta build too hard in this list.

Sigil of Revelation will likely not be taken by condi builds. As for Warrs who always take Hydromancy they likely will opt for something like Sigil of Exposure or Doom

I like Sigil of Battle because it feels bursty. 4 stacks of Might on swap is fairly big as it fills ~16% of max Might availability in an instant. Strength is weaker though, but is a more passive option I guess.

Sigil of Revelation is simply way too small and weak to be able to do significant impacts to the already all-powerful Thief. Removal of Fire and Air sigils nerf Power builds like Thief et cetera, but Thief was already the best duelist in the game. Unfortunately this means Rev will be nerfed too.

Sigil of Doom nerf is amazing. 5 seconds down from 8 is pretty big IMO.

The passives are extremely weak though. These are my only gripes.

Bunkery builds will also face a slight nerf.

Sigil of Blood / Leeching being removed is great. It brings sustain and damage to the table at the same time which is simply OP.

Sigil of Nullification is buffed and I like it.

Overall I feel these changes will affect all builds in a somewhat negative impact, which is good for core builds. However, the change is insignificant as sigils have always been complimentary items that only help spice up a build. I like these changes although the passives need some work.

There’s classes as Tempest with so much access to stability, damage reduction, AoE cleansing and healing that trying to play Rev as a bunker has (imo) little sense. Can work? maybe, but worse than Guardian or Tempest bunkers. If I would to play that role I would chose any of them before Rev; is like using a Necro as roamer or Thief as a healer: subpar, at best.

Overload Earth, Obsidian Flesh and poof you dead

Ventari healers are better than you think (especially a well-played one). Everything clicks when you play correctly

The PvP team is investigating opportunities to update the sigils available in the game mode. This means removing, adding, balancing, and reworking. Our high-level goals include reducing RNG gameplay, promoting counter-play, reducing raw damage output, and removing ineffective choices. Some example changes would be removing on-kill stacking sigils and changing proc sigils to on-next-attack effects.

We are looking for feedback on these goals and potential changes. Feel free to suggest new sigils, sigils that exist in other game modes, or feedback on current sigils.

The sigils aren’t the biggest issue, it’s the skill balancing and trait system.

When it takes 3-4 seconds for a Light class to get a meteor shower down and there is a big circles telling everyone to dodge out, then how is that balance with a Heavy classes using Coalescence of ruin that does over 20k instant damage on 3 targets and a 3 seconds cooldown? The risk must correspond with the reward.

You need to make the light class king of damage builds again (I’m not talking about PvE where enemies stand still), nerf condis and passive skills across the board because they require less skill, bring back the condi cap in WvW to prevent instant death from condi bombs.

THEN fix the sigils. I’m really worried that if you change the sigils you’re going to break the balance even more.

While I sympathize for those who feel robbed, I am happy with the change. 99% of players I asked who couldn’t PvP well said they only came for the rewards. That’s not PvP. That’s drudging yourself to do a game mode you as a player loathe. I empathize those who are struggling in PvP games and want the rewards, but with the changes players don’t need to struggle anymore. PvPers aiming for high rating will be teamed with other devoted PvPers, and less rage will result IMO.

I saw wayyy too many staff eles in PvP last season. Considering staff ele is a PvE metaweapon, I’d assume most of the eles I saw came from PvE.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m half PvE half PvP myself, but they’re completely different beasts.

So I was thinking. What if you get the item from Vinetooth’s chest or tarnished traitor’s chest? It’s an aura item like the Chak Egg Sac but has not been found by the playerbase (that we’ve heard of). Iirc the devs said the droprate was broken on reddit. Who knows?

The key here is Latent Stamina. I tried choosing everything I could for extra endurance generation. This is simply OP!! XD Bad trait = amazing trait if you focus everything around it =)

The ICD on Latent Stamina is ONLY for water attunement swap. All the vigor procs count and have no ICD.

Hmm. I’ve played Tempest support with over 600 games this season, and I feel like it just doesn’t have enough group heals, but it’s nice for damage I agree. I mean I ran D/W and my highest healing got up to 1.3million, but I felt D/F lacked “something”. Maybe I just sucked with it. Nevertheless I had great success with D/W because I knew how to kite and combo heals with LF.

I’ve been in Platinum 2 for a brief moment before other people running ele forced me to swap to classes I sucked as. Additionally I stopped caring about Ranked and fell to Gold.

I feel like there is potential with Ventari, especially if you’re supporting good players that know what they’re doing. With the right rotations etc I think Alacrity uptime and huge heals will benefit.

Try running Invocation instead of Retribution and trait up for high outgoing heals and let me know how it works.

Your problems exist in all support classes except Druid. Tempest has slower rotations than Ventari, Tempest can’t make allies unkillable, and Tempests can’t do anything while they’re CC’d and have Obsidian Flesh drained out. However you can use your tablet while CC’d which is a huge bonus.

Also, I hope you know that Ranked as it is right now is broken. I had a bronze player in my group twice in a row (I’m in gold) so yah :p

I was in a game the other day where someone explained my team how to win by capping points. Couldn’t believe it.
