Yes you have.
Care to elaborate?
I would say this kind of thread warrants a CDI.. but that of course wont happen
There was a CDI about rewards already. Didn’t help any, of course.
Has the CDI ever accomplished anything?
I respect Chris and his attempt at communicating with the fans, but I have never seen anything substantial implemented in game as a direct result from the CDI.
Thank you for the official reply Gaile, it is appreciated.
I must admit i am not happy to hear that SAB does not have a time frame, but it is good to know that Arena Net does intend to bring it back at some point. I just hope that Arena Net does not bring it back for a small one time event but brings about permanent access.
A handful of people may not like it, but when it comes down to it some people hate roleplay, some people hate PvP, some people hate dungeons and so on. Their is content that even as a fan I dislike in Guild Wars 2, but I would not dream of depriving others just because of my personal preference.
Edit -
Maybe because we would prefer the developers to spend their time, money, and resources on something else…
You have no right to deny people what they want no more than they do for you. I wish they would not waste money on the teen melodrama called the living story, but some people like it and they deserve to have it to continue. You play an MMO Arshay with people who have varying personalities and desires, learn to compromise as not everything made will be to your taste.

Guild Wars 2 is one of the least rewarding MMO’s I have played, removing bags entirely is not the way to go.
I say Arena Net should add the bags as reward to the level of participation for event completion rather than champion drops. Champions should give slightly better reward than veterans/elite plus extra silver to make the effort of defeating them worth while but the good stuff comes with the gold event completion. People will not actively seek to fail events when they know the reward only given as part of it’s completion, failure grants zero to one bags. Yes people would still farm, but it would be in the right spirit of cooperation as the game was originally designed for.
Agreed, bring it back!
I hope you are good at writing compelling characters Leah, because the living story is lacking in that respect. So far season two is much better than season one, but honestly that is not a hard thing to accomplish. I hope your talent can bring to the living story the many things it is currently missing.

Arena Net, removing content since 2012.
You, I and several hundred other players have asked for such things.
I have no idea who selects Arena Net’s priorities but considering the features they give us and the already working features they “improve”. I would not get my hopes up for ever getting anything like this, seems like the more wanted the feature the lower the priority it has.
Yep.
And in Queensdale you get to dance in front of cows and rub plants till they grow. Blame the NPE, apparently Arena Net think new players are brain dead and can not possibly handle anything so complicated as pouring water on plants or controlling a golem that only has two skills.
Aesthetics are important!
The nodes are again just dumped into the home instance with zero thought on the location or presentation. Gemstore team please go back to all the nodes and rethink where and how you place them.
Make sure the nodes are not floating, plants growing out of stone and pavement are just plain ridiculous. You have to put at least some effort into it if you expect people to buy them, seriously it is not hard to beautify the node locations and make sure the placement is sensible. You at least owe that to your paying customers.
This bit is not really part of the store, but related to the home instance. If You do decide to fix these issues you could also tweak the nodes from the living story, like being moved out of the human orphanage and into a more sensible location. The Krait Obelisk Shard could also do with having the same beautification/sensible location treatment.
I believe they said Sab is not coming back…if Im not mistaken
Saying it is not coming back is inaccurate, they said they have no plans to bring it back any time soon. But if we keep asking then they are more likely to buckle to our demands!
I would rather a mini SAB be place in our home instance for free or as a reward for completing all four SAB worlds, when they do eventually get released.
I have the one good boombox, all the minis and the infinite continue coin already. But if they added something new to the store in conjunction with reopening the SAB then I would buy whatever it is in a heartbeat.
I agree with what was already posted, Arena Net must hate money because they sure would earn a nice income from permanently opening the box.
Neglect
Protesting
Enthusiasts
This is strange, what is the reasoning behind doing this?
Well, OP seems to have same idea, but i dont see you saying anything about that.
Rants and tantrums are also not constructive or helpful in any way.
Because I, to a degree, think the OP is right. Arena Net rely too heavily on metrics, but if you read the posts in this topic you already know what I think.
I also agree with what you say about rants and tantrums though not many here in this topic are doing so, mostly people are just nitpicking each others words. Or in the case of Vayne, arguing with people because no one is allowed to have an opposing view.
Most people learn by doing, but each player learns at different speeds. The problem arises when you try to force players into situations they are not prepared for, a fine example is SAB world two. The whole premise was to force players into becoming better at jumping puzzles but you can not force people to learn, it has to be natural, like the much more successful SAB world one.
But at the end of the day trying to make players better at the game is pointless due to the fact that the majority will almost always take the easy route. A fine example of this is the Queensdale Champion train, other places could be more rewarding but players choose the train because at the end of the day they prefer to relax and gain easy loot.
Anyway I do agree with the op, if you want people to learn things they need to have access even if they do not pick up on it right away, just do not expect people to do it or force them.
my support is coming out of the woodwork today…
I argue with people…
I elected myself to do so….
Well, this sums your character up nicely.
People have a right to believe and think what they want, you arguing with them just because you personally do not believe the same thing is not helpful or constructive.
Irresponsible parent alert.
Rated T for teen.
I agree, I want to see Rytlock in clown shoes with a red nose and put Logan in a jester suit, because colour!
Yea Arena Nets answer for doing anything these days `because the metrics say so´.
I am sure metrics indicate that the game would be more popular with a first person view and an colour pallet of predominantly brown and grey, do not forget guns and perhaps some science fiction elements. Also I believe people love dragons and zombies so add a dragon zom.. oh wait, you did that already.
I sincerely hope they have new enjoyable content.
The Guild Wars community has been so upset in recently, the last thing we need is more fuel added to the fire.
Edit – Not a fan of the Bloody Prince, his inclusion completely detracted from Mad King Thorn.
(edited by Aedelric.1287)
I can see your feet, that will not do at all!
Over and over again Arena Net claim that their decisions are based off the detailed metrics they have. I would love to see these magical statistic that Arena Net claim can predict what I would find useful/enjoyable, so far they have been hit and very much miss.
Arena Net might have better luck in getting things right if they flip a coin when making decisions.
Where is the logic in designing a game for people that do not like or enjoy it? In fundamentally changing the game you are alienating your current audience in favour of one that no longer has interest in playing.
Eve Online is a tedious overly complex grind, if they completely reinvented the game for players like me, could you imagine how popular it would be? Their current fan base would leave in a heartbeat.
Problem with Arena Net is they rely on metrics to make all their decisions, their is no common sense.
World Bosses? That is just too confusing for new players, perhaps they should not access to them till at least level 80.
It does not bother me so much, personally I do not walk around with my commander tag on unless it is required.
But I must say it has proven useful with my alts, when I notice a champ and I am on my own I just flick on my commander tag and mention a champ is at my location, within minutes I am opening a nice loot bag.
We had protests, in game and on the forum and Arena Net never gave an official reply. The feature pack was recently released and was not well received at all, it has stolen the limelight for now.
Seems to me that Arena Net are sticking to their guns and feeding us more living tripe, whether we want it or not. Financially it makes no sense as the more access people have to it the more SAB related gem store items they can sell. As for not developing more levels, that is okay for now just let us play what was released last time.
I love SAB, it is a great diversion where I can get away from the normal game and relax.
They sort have communicated with us already, they said that some of the level gating are bugs but the majority of features are working as intended.
Beyond that I doubt you are going to get much more out of them, Arena Net are famous for their apathy and poor community relations.
Agreed, they need the community feedback a test server provides to avoid yet another feature pack disaster.
You are joking right? I hope you are joking.
Seriously this artificial time gated nonsense has gone too far, surely Arena Net sees have ridiculous this is, their decisions lately boggle the mind.
Yea, another feature that was “improved” upon.
I have not worn my town clothes since they made it a topic, I used to have a lovely colour scheme and wore it occasionally. Since the change the tonic sits in my bank gathering dust.
I miss mix and matching my outfit plus dying my clothes, we need the hero panel reworked to include the tonics and give us more customization options.
I say bring the CDI, people have wanted better communication with Arena Net for a while now and delaying that is more harmful than have people attempt to derail the CDI.
Anyway, you have moderators for a reason.
If you are proud of what your team has done like you said, then you have no reason to worry about the `current environment´ Chris.
Yea, the game does not have very many armored legging options, each new outfit just brings more skirts.
…Due To Rising Player Population.
On a megaserver…
Will I ever see my mini pets again now that we’re forced into higher population situations?
You will never see your mini again, enjoy this new wonderful feature!
Arena Net reads the forums and no doubt understands peoples concerns, but they are famous for their apathy and lack of community interaction.
Hell will freeze over before they take action on behalf of their player base demands.
They have been doing interactions with the community the past couple of weeks. It has been 1 day though since this patch was out so I’ll give them a bit of time to see how they respond to the feedback.
Couple of weeks… Out of two years since the game was live, not a great average that.
Arena Net reads the forums and no doubt understands peoples concerns, but they are famous for their apathy and lack of community interaction.
Hell will freeze over before they take action on behalf of their player base demands.
People don’t like change that is at the heart of it.
And based off that understanding, Arena Nets intention to make such fundamental changes is not only ridiculous but essentially a provocation of its veteran player base.
Mind you, it is not like anyone could hold their hand on their heart and say the changes were actually really any good.
I do not blame you Batmoss, Arena Net have failed to deliver several time now and all without addressing player concerns.
To be honest I am almost in the same boat, ever since the leak that my favorite pastime SAB is no longer on the schedule.
I would love a rollback, but these changes are not going to go.
I keep my fingers crossed that they will be fixed and improved upon in the future, but considering this patch is supposed to be an improvement on previous features I worry more than they will ruin it all further.
Compliments of the botched mega server “feature”.
Yea, you wish.
I would love to know who on the team was responsible for this moronic idea.
Well the minipet system is nice but due the the horrendous mega server system no one likes I am no longer able to ever see my minipet. Any map I join the game informs me that their are too many players to use my minipet.
Constant gem store reminders is intrusive, this is not a free to play cash grab game, I paid for everything already! While I am at it displaying minis/outfits I do not own is irritating, please only show what we have obtained thus far.
The dumbing down of leveling and early game content is utterly ridiculous. You have thousands of players playing the game since release and all of them coped fine with the level system and content. You guys at Arena Net really need to organised your priorities, the systems included to not make the early game any better. You have essentially been wasting valuable developer time repairing features that are not broken.
The trading post is not faster and slightly less intuitive, no doubt I will get used to it but as of right now I am not sure why this was worked on because it really does not seem like an improvement right now.
Performance seemed to have taken a nose dive this update, generally lower fps all around even though large battles have less lag.
Achievements as content, in general I dislike achievements I know some people love them. But to me it is nothing more than a pointless system detracting from real gameplay. No doubt it is very easy for Arena Net to create achievements which is why we have so many, but it is in no way a suitable replacement for real gameplay content. The first expansion can not come soon enough in my opinion.
Arena Net, stop using metrics to determine your development decisions it is an exceptionally bad business practice that is only going to lead to a bland simplified game that no one likes. Go with your gut feeling and what seems fun, what happened to the developers that bough us gems like the SAB, the Commando and the much loved War in Kryta to name a few.
Currently I have exceptionally low expectations for Season 2 part 2 and any future feature packs. While I am at it, perhaps you should rename future “feature” packs to Revamp Packs. After all we had achievements, leveling, minis and a trading post already, nothing really new was added, just changed or “improved” upon.
You have to make them account bound so do not worry.
Strictly positive posts are no more helpful than completely negative posts. I get you may want to just be nice, but I think it much more constructive to give genuine feedback that covers positive and negative aspects of the game.
I like this idea, but for PvE only.
It seems to be that things are constantly destroyed but hardly anything is ever built or improved in Tyria. Just because you guys at Arena Net want a living changing world, does not mean you have to destroy everything.
Rebuild Lions Arch, repair the destroyed forts, settle the refugees by building new homes, the choices are literally endless. Have players interact and help accomplish the building by supplying resources and grant rewards based off how much they help.
You can do more than just build or destroy, pick zones that are not essential to the story and create changes in the mobs and events. For example have the seraph push back the centaur and introduce a new set of rotating events telling a new story for the region, you would barely have to change the landscape at all.
If you are going to heavily alter a landscape then keep it to newly introduced areas because altering the look of old regions is just going to infuriate people. I and many like me can no longer stand Kessix Hills, it a complete shame as it used to be one of the most beautiful areas in the game.
I was well kittened off when you went to Timberline Falls with the living story, luckily it was only Fort Concordia that was affected, not sure how I would have acted if my favorite region got the “Kessex Hills” treatment. If Arena Net keep up this pace in two years every region will be a hideous mess.
Really it is nothing that was not in the game already, the button itself is intrusive though and I would rather it was not present.
Next release for SAB.
