I do not even like the metal music but it should have been a feature to upgrade your box to play those songs. Mystic forge recipe with items collected in tribulation mode would have been fine, a simple click changes between song set and done.
Indeed a missed opportunity.
I have to say I am a little sad that the box I bought in the store is now free to purchase with a handful of baubles. I even enjoyed being on the few few people still in game that has one. But it does not matter, it is great people are enjoying the SAB and have a chance to get the Boombox for themselves.
It is like they have a low attention span, they work on a great idea for a bit but then get distracted by the next great idea.
Underwater combat is in essence a great idea, but instead of fleshing it out for the expansion they completely change direction and created gliding, which is only half-heartedly implemented. Lots of areas still lack gliding and none of the HoT gliding features have been implemented into the base game, updrafts, ley line, etc.
I am not bitter or angry, but each year that passed we are left with more content that needs finished or fleshed out. Instead of fixing WvW and expanding on Fractals they work on new ideas like PvP Tournaments and Raids.
Even my personal favourite SAB, has not progressed towards completion in years. I hope Arena Net can focus more on completing and fleshing out features in the near future as this list is starting to get very long indeed.
Edit – They left personal instance’s unfinished to work on guild halls, plus decorating was never retroactively added to personal instance.

Collect daily log on reward
SAB daily achivement
World 1 tribulation mode
Harvest home instance nodes
Two or three world bosses for enough gold to make a King Toad weapon.
A bit of a step up for a month ago where I would only collect my daily log on reward harvest my home instance nodes and log off. This is why SAB should be permanent content, it gets people like me playing when their is no living story to log on for.
Yea, plus the Glacial Blade.
I do not want to be negative but I doubt we will see any of it unless it is in the Gem Store. As for animations seem to be something Arena Net are unwilling to work on, the fact they have not returned the female idle animation speaks volumes.
Players are NOT the peers of the dev team.
Well stop the press we have breaking news!
On other topics;
Water… wet.

Super Adventure Box
Hidden Arcana
Interesting that when I asked the same question, the moderator moved it to SAB trash topic. Thankfully he didn’t do it here….yet
Because the topic was trash.
You got the exact same replies telling you what Josh and the blog said but refused to accept them as answers.
Two things:
1. It’s not a democracy. Anet make stuff and we choose to play it or not to play it and that’s how it should be. I don’t want to play a game that is designed by committee.
Committee? Really?
It is called peer review friend and it is a good thing.
Arena Net certainly do not operate as a democracy, but perhaps they should. If they listened more they would weed out a lot of the trash `content´ no one wants. (NPE etc)
Did it seriously take you eight hours just to get to the door?
Unfortunately they said they do not have the time or manpower to make new SAB content so I doubt they would do what you suggest. I would be fine with them reworking world two into world 2/3/4 and eventually giving us the last just to tidy it all up. But it almost feels like a waste with them constantly reworking old content, plus doing that to world 2 would be a massive amount of work.
If they did have time and manpower it might be best to keep world 2 as is and just give us one new zone at a time on each release. It will take a while to get a full world, but it would lessen the overall work load and give them time to make something spectacular each release.
Dose it not?
No.
The question was are they working on world 3/4?
Not do you like SAB and want to see more?
I don’t really want to make this a hate topic. So please, refrain from your comments if you don’t have actual info (or anything constructive to say). That blogpost doesn’t explain SAB’s future. Only the current state.
Learn to read between the lines.
I grew up playing the 8-bit and 16-bit consoles. But I have to say, I really don’t see what all the fuss is about with SAB. It’s fun for 5 minutes, but that’s about it. But that’s just my opinion. I’d rather see the devs work on GW2 over a mini game with in GW2.
That really does not have any bearing on the topic at all.
Based on your forum posts I think you are not capable of listening to any opinion other than your own, m8.
I am not your mate and you specifically quote out of context, hardly surprising considering your forum posts.
I said “why should we be listening to your opinion over those that actually genuinely love and play it?”
You do not love SAB so why should we be listening to you over someone that does?
Super Adventure Box is not a festival, it is a game mode. It is like making WvW or PvP only available for 19 days and using the excuse `Because it makes it special´ is not a sound reason.
I would not get your hopes up for getting a dev reply.
I am not overly positive about us ever getting world three, especially when they said this in the latest blog;
“Guild Wars 2 is a huge game, and keeping it strong means making tough decisions about where to spend our time to best serve the most players. We decided we couldn’t justify the sacrifice to Guild Wars 2 to make more new worlds for SAB.”
If they could not make the “sacrifice” after two years I doubt they ever will make the “sacrifice”.
I really do not understand Arena Net, it is not like we have had anything really substantial since HoT. They say they can not spend developer time for specific content as it would detract form the core game, yet what have we got for that? Months of content drought regardless.
Edit – Note for OP, reply to comments, do not edit your original post to try and invalidate the replies you do not like. Also, learn to read between the lines, they said they can not spare anyone as it would negatively affect GW2 development.

Your reward is the weapon, that is enough.
It has to be seasonal or it will not be so special. Part of the fun is the buzz and excitement when it arrives
Having said that, being new to SAB I’ve spent about 30 minutes in there and I feel like I’m done with it.
You completely invalidated your point, you say if it was here often it would not be special yet you say you are done with it after thirty minutes even though it had a two year hiatus. You obviously just have no interest in it anyway, if it was here more often or not it would make zero difference to you as you are done within minutes regardless. With that kind of mentality why should we be listening to your opinion over those that actually genuinely love and play it?
I say make it permanent, the game is truly hurting for new content. The very least they could do is activate it when there is no living story/festival. The many months of content drought are horrendous and taking a severe toll on the community, this would at least help fill the gap.
if u keep it permanent, it gets old and it will die out
it wont have the same feel as a yearly content.
Complete nonsense.
People that like the content will always play, nothing new in Guild Wars 1 PvP but people still play that. Plus Guild Wars 2 constantly has new players coming to it, that will always keep such activities active.
I like the changes for causal players, the achievements giving baubles and the new rewards. It is as fun as I remember, a great change of pace from the normal game. I just wish we got it more often.
That said I am not happy about the unique guild item rewards as none of it can be used in my personal instance, so it is utterly useless in my opinion. Please stop overlooking our personal instances Arena Net, I want a mini SAB to display!
I just hope the next time it comes back it will be longer than 19 days, my infinite coin is not going to be good value for money, only 19 days in two years is disheartening. Also I hope we get world three when it comes back next time. I do not want it to go the way of the other festivals, copy paste events that loose their enjoyment due to lack of fresh content.

You know the announcement date of Legendary cancellation, but not the date it happened… which is likely the day before SAB was greenlighted.
Very unlikely as the team has not moved on yet because they still have to add the final Legendary.
But it would be great if it was true, Legendary weapons are a waste of time and resources. SAB actually has gameplay content, weapon skins, music boxes, minis and a ton more interesting content on top. A choice between that and one weapon with an achievement track, seems obvious which is a better use of developer time.
At last, thank you Arena Net!
I am not happy that it is only here for twenty days, especially as it has been years since I last got to play. We really need permanent access, I do not like the content I enjoy being held back for no good reason.

This.
Plus harvesting my home instance nodes.
You might want to link the Reddit thing so everyone else knows exactly what you are talking about Egzius.
For what it’s worth department.
Reddit thread: Sab just showed up in Gw2efficiencys achievements
What does that mean? Is it some sort of website that anyone could have manipulated for April Fools or is it some sort of API data fetched that only Arena Net can manipulate?
I really do not know the relevance of this.
I hope that is not all we are getting, I have literally zero interest in any of those three things mentioned.
Super Adventure Box.
SAB better be a permanent addition when it returns! I really do not want to wait several years to play content I like… again.
Prepare to be disappointed… again.
I am!
SAB better be a permanent addition when it returns! I really do not want to wait several years to play content I like… again.
“The fact that they he doesnt think HoT was half an expansion ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIES ME!!!! Is THIS the amount of content we are to expect in the future?” I think this speaks volumes.
I agree, on paper the expansion seems full but when you actually play it it certainly does not feel complete. I think the issue here is people like Mike O’Brien that have seen and probably tried the expansion but mainly read/directed its contents on paper but never actually played it through.
Anyway, as to Wooden Potatoes video he has some really good points, definitely a must watch for any developer at Arena Net.
(edited by Aedelric.1287)
Good catch.
Question is why?
I do not care about legendary weapons, PvP of any kind, balance, raids or WvW and festivals which I used to love have become copy and paste. So to me this is great news, the more developers working on Living World means the more story and events I get to play.
Living world is the content I like (Even though last season was hit and miss) so the sooner this team gets started the better!
Also thanks for being straight forward with us with such a decision, it may upset a few people but it is good that we all know what is going on. This is the kind of communication I like, knowing the direction of the game and being open.

Good luck with whatever you do now Colin!
I wonder why he left and who will be the one to take up his position next. I do not see his departure as having a huge effect on the game though as it is a team effort after all.
You guys — SAB is coming back. Colin said it. It’s true. This is positive and definite and no I don’t have a date and I know you’d like to have one but that’s not possible but… it’s coming back. Posts that proclaim it’s not coming are not just wrong — they’re dead wrong. Posts that express upset about the coin — while I understand them — will be moot when SAB returns. Which will happen.
All I can say is keep your chin up, because it’s going to happen.
Because Colin has never said anything that turned out to be incorrect later on? The justification always is that “plans change”, I will believe SAB is coming when it arrives because even I now have lost faith.
As for the coin, telling us that it is moot because it works with content that might be coming does not address the fact we have a currently useless coin. Retroactively add a quest like the gift box that gave us a glider. An SAB glider would give us something of worth for our money and likely stop us all complaining.
A good will gesture goes a long way in restoring confidence and good community relations.
I would say it is likely Kralkatorrik, Glints egg, Hidden Arcana, Shatterer buff and the general fan desire to see the Crystal Desert make it the best bet.
As the Great Destroyer was the first hint of Dragons I would say they would probably save Primordius till the last.
While they are at it they could get rid of jumping and skills and loot and chat too!
I never read the post as the topic title was enough, you can not ask for Arena Net to remove core parts of the game and be taken seriously.
I agree, Tangled Depths is a horrid map to travel around, I got map completion and never went back.
Verdant Brink is better than Tangled Depths but not great, Auric Basin is by far the best, easy to learn and easy to navigate
Some people here missed the point, it is not that you disconnect or not. It is the lack of a rejoin mechanic that is the issue.
You should be allowed to rejoin the exact map you were on with the progress you made within five minutes of disconnect, you should also earn any progress rewards you were meant to gain upon logon.
I am sure it is not an easy thing to fix but it certainly is worth the time and manpower to find a solution.
I do not care about this, I prefer new gameplay and casual content to play. That said plenty of people want such a feature and it should have been added years ago.
Sometimes I feel Arena Net only ask what we want just so they can mock us when they give us something completely different and unwanted.
New Player Experience.
Guild Wars has no religious celebrations, why should they start now?
Wintersday, Halloween, Canthan New Year, Dragon Festival, April Fools, none of them have anything to do with religion.
They are just celebrations that often tie into holidays so players have something to do on their time off.
Not going to happen, it has been three years and Arena Net are not about to change.
HoT Price Feedback + Base game included [merged]
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Aedelric.1287
I have played Guild Wars 1, the add-ons and the expansion.
Going by Arena Nets own previous standard the expansion is over priced and light on content.
The Home Instance is pretty much like individual player housing. You can upgrade it with Gemstore stuff, and characters from your personal story hang out there.
As it stands the home instance is not good enough.
The home instance is a mess at the moment and really has been neglected for far too long. It has no gliding crafting/merchant and a lot of the things you can get for it have really bad placement, for example two of my ore nodes are actually inside each other. Worst thing of all is that the Guild Decoration system was not added to the home instance with Heart of Thorns, it is the perfect system for home decoration.
No, the home instance as it stands is nowhere near good enough to substitute a proper housing system.
I would love to fund what I like, but they have not added any Super Adventure box content/items in years.
No, that breaks into the grounds of pay to win.
It is fine for an expansion though, so go buy that instead.
I like the warrior change except the brutal shot dodge move. Might take me a while to get used to it as twice now I jumped off a ledge because I forgot the skill works like that now.
The Shatterer is better, kinda easy though as I was expecting Tequatal standards. But it is fine because it is a lower level zone.
Brew of the month is interesting but I was hoping the unique drinks would provide a bonus. As it stands the entire thing is kinda pointless until a year from now when the backpack is rewarded.
PvP/WvW not interesed personally so that is a good portion of the update that is meaningless to me.
Bug fixes are great, adding new bugs is not so great. Hopefully things can be quickly patched up.
Gliding is nice but under used, we need a few updrafts and things around the world to spice it up a bit.
As for the rest, well there is not much because the content is very light with this update. A little disappointing considering the amount of time we waited, hopefully we will get something more substantial next time.
First, everyone needs to stop complaining about the price of the shared inventory slots.
`First, everyone needs to stop having an opinion, except me.´
Listen to yourself mate.
Justify it however you want, it is one single slot and exceptionally over priced. It is not acceptable in any way, they need to half the price and double the slots of those that already made a purchase. And that is the bare minimum they could do to fix the issue.
What would be preferable is 250 gems per slot and refund all those that already made a purchase. Plus make duplicate gem store items tradable so players can at least get back some of the real money they wasted in the form of gold.
How does silent treatment sound good on paper Knighthonor? Silent treatment never helps anyone, not Arena Net or its customers. No treaty was ever made with one side giving the other `the silent treatment´.
I do not understand Arena Net especially in regards to their utter lack of communication. So many issues would be avoided if they discussed plans with the community and listened to feedback rather than acting first and experiencing the fallout.
I lost count of the merged topics that get ignored and never addressed.
I am grateful, but we should have got this months ago with HoT release.
It is something that has needed to be changed for a while.
I look forward to seeing it fixed a year or so from now when Arena Net notice a streamer they like raging about it.
