The irony of old mmo’s being much better than new ones… it feels the mmo genra is droppign in quallity and just caring about “pretend to be better” with alot of placebo mechanics.
There isnt a really GvG system so players, took care of that and made a blob colliding trying anilliate each other.
GvG 8vs8 system should be the traditonal guild combat system.
Not funny how Anet prefered the moba copy pasta instad of creating/tunning up their own pvp environment.
Yashuoa.9527, most probably never going to happend, even when they were untouchable, could not take damage, barelly no one ever used them and instead of improving thir mechanics Anet decided to make a even worse skill.
Players are still waitting for a A.I improvement or change how SW weawpons work, almost 3 years.
Anet only change the builds they think clever players are going to use as flavour of the month, they dont fix classes as balance or when poorly mechanics invalidates some skills usesage.

Not totally. All condi build right now focus on burning. Engineer/Guardian/Ranger in PvE all focus on burning first. Guardian and Ranger use balthazar rune, while engineer is the only one that still give a good amount of other condition, while still focusing on burn. For sPvP it’s the same thing. Cele Ele focus on fire, Engineer condi focus on fire, Guardian focus on fire, Carrion Ranger focus on fire, the only that focus on bleed is Ranger condi Survival and that build isn’t one of the best. There is an imbalance right now toward burning. I would love to see more Bleeding Warrior and stuff like that.
indeed, i can understand that (i have been playing condi engi but basicly i use fire, and other condis to avoid fire to get cleaned in first place), on GW1 we had alot of condi gameplay, pressure, bursts etc and that was required team work not just one class doing all that with 1 or 2 condis, in that ideology yes burns is over the top atm.
Conditions should be to support dps and pressure not expect do kill, we could see more conditions in play if game was designed towards that.
Burning is the only really strong condition now, bleed was even nerfed to hell
since it makes half the damage than before the condition changes so that i
equipped my sword warrior now again with berserker gearEngi so far is the only class i found to make good use of it and its fun to play now
for me without much switching kits.
Also i found a decent build for my ranger with torch and traps.Bleeding wasn’t really nerf’d the SCALING with Condi Damage was changed, with 700+ Condi Damage you’ll find it does more than it used to with the same previous Condi Damage.
Incorrect, you need 2200 CD to achieve the same damage as before the patch.
The bleed they previewed in the POI stream was not what was added in the patch. Bleed got a significant nerf between the POI and patch and the scaling went from 700 to 2200.

I would like to see some one with ventari/glint (staff+ —- + shield ) combo on teh next beta.
I wanted to do that anyway, you can fill that blank with Mace.
Mace has triple blast finisher and fire field on low cooldowns.
Apart from AA, it has some support aspect. And a Poison.I imagine Sword MH could be taken for the long evade, though. There are options.
well since i dont own HoT i will have to wait and see if any of the streammers will use it :P.

I think that waiting a bit is a good thing. People always cry about new stuff, but over time they get used to is so it doesn’t need as big of a nerf if at all. Best exemple is TEQ. They nerfed it a couple of time, while people were getting better at it and it end up super easy.
Until now they didn’t nerfed condition and it a lot more manageable than it used to be at the patch. Now because the game changed, but people adapted to it.
I would be in favor of nerfing a little bit burning, but only if they buff a bit bleeding. Personnally, I think that burning is ok right now. It’s only really strong on Elementalist because the profession can give a good amount while being defensive. It’s also strong on guardian, but it’s a one trick pony.
Guardian would not loose much, the problem is that DH will come and anet wont fix other possible builds (every class will suffer from it) we could have so players are gona be forced to play that spec or keep with the other that kinda works.
I rather see the output damage reduced a bit ( every one can burst each other way to fast, some classes are way to easy if someone uses macros in some situation), if i reacall fire was strong in gw1 as well, and was still mostly half of life tranfer hexes degen.

What if Anet balanced the game for GvG 8vs8 on the new GH?
On GW1 5 man RA/TA was still balanced.
Also we need less AOE AA, every one looks like dervishes…. AA = 3 targets and AOE = 5 targets….

I wouldn’t say Guardian is bad, but it’s the same since 2 years now, and all we get is a broken spec that tries to imitate ranger badly…
Players where kittened by the zerker ranger so they wanted to be zerker rangers in thier guardians, Anet instead of “fixing” scepter decided to give a LB to guardian (IMO it felt they dont like the class and dont know what to make for exoansion so they made the ranger guardian version).
Unenployed guardians, had to adapt to rangers….
Yashuoa.9527, basically SoA should follow you while dome not being activated, but the skill as alot of problem, most time u need to be out of combat to get SoA repositioning at your position or save the command skill like Vizardlorde.8243 said, but even that can turn out to get borked.
Dont activate SoA to a AoE zone, will get insta killed, SoA runs out of combat to protec your team mate even if ge fighthing a melee target, and leave you uncovered while you are trying to figh a ranger or engie (nader).
SoA wil also run out of your position and get in melee range of your atacker, 2-3 AA and your utility is gone.
Also in the dome CD interval it is easy to target you and the SoA, even a ranger can disable SoA easilly after cast.
Also by the time SoA is being casted is eneught to get u down or put u on lot of stress while tryign to cast.

That is a similiar system to Lineage, GW2 is a game where 1 map has several shards so that is not possible.
BD is a full seamless map with a guild contruction zone , gw2 is heavilly built over shards of instances.

The dynamic events are an important infrastructure in countering traditional quests and a big reason ppl choose this game over others. Replacing or reducing them isn’t the answer. The game needs more of them, with more chains (like the excellent fireheart ones) and more variety. HoT may bring that, altho beta suggested repeating events on short timers. That i don’t think is good enough for the standard this game is capable of.
If i recall some evenst got disabled, instad of creating chains or turn them to something better or bigger…They never did much to improve this sytem.
About pve i play since beta, i stil dont have map completion nor ever wil lhave it, i gainned horror to pve (this game turned out to be a brain dead spam 1 key, i dont like easy games…), and some clunkier mmo’s they still have better stuff than gw2, gw2 besides character control and graphics/artwork doesnt offer much.

i miss the 8 vs 8 … wish game was balanced towards that… even 5 man RA/ TA was better than this >_>.
Burst players was harder, required more team work…
There were good mesmers at that time…
There were good rangers at that time…
There were better players at that time…(my opinion about pvp state, since i found it to easy atm).

Didnt some one from Anet stated they were fine by players improving their skills trying to do this trick, (w/o hacks ofcourse), becouse this is possible in some spots by just streching the X resolutions and decreasing on Y.
The problem is not the fire stacks, it is the overall output damage, when u can take down 2 players in 2-3 seconds something is fishy, Anet dumbed down the skill level that is needed to kill/down players, a thing that in gw1 was required team work.
If they dont want to die pick another class with a better gimmik.

What is the interval in which the shield procs?After someone has taken dmg, it will start generating shields periodically?
Arround ~3 second dome with a ~1.5-2 second, interval while player taking damage.
And skill does not generate shields, SoA will get rooted and cast a dome, then enters in CD after some time, and will cast dome again if player gets hitted, while dome is casted it does not follow the Guardian, and if you are in another place being hitted the recast of the dome will not be near you but where dome was previously casted, you need to stop taking damage and thus avoid SoA to cast dome to follow you.
Also if ur on WvW, and i think is happend in spvp to, players at higher place atacking you, SoA will just be afk and not proc the dome.

WvW gameplay got bored, people spended to much time and effort organizing their guild and server, they werent rewarded at that, cause effort will be reseted, bandwagons, hacks, coverage problems, and BEING PPT the reward in WvW, makes a castles the PvD prize/trophy, theres not point also on holding a tower besides the ppt tick.
Anything besides the fights was worthless in WvW……it should be fancy and have a good objective for a guild/alliance to hold it and defend it and not playing for a ppt that means nothing.
The problem with WvW is being designed for casual players that barelly log on the game…

^, this, it makes sense for a guardian to have a shield as offhand offcourse, i was expecting it would be the new weapon but anet forcing every one on pirate ship.
Fix WvW first.
T3 and t4 migh be that to, blob while server B afk and then its server B time to blob back while server A went afk, or small teams capping empty towers/castles , not so much diference from eotm after all

Here people mark up the walls, and those standing on the walls can’t get near to cast down because marks extend beyond just the side of the walls.
Build AC halfway up the stairs. Then YOU get the advantage.
Easily destroyed by an ac outside using zoom hacks.
:D, it is meta. so sad when u have the outnumbered debuff on you and u see a zerg(30-40ish) using 2 ac’s (built inside walls were cant be damage either) with zoom hack and packet editor for faster spam cleaning all the siege to avoid castle getting defended by 5-7 players… GG
Wait.. conditions duration? dont like it… since meta now is condi bunker guard it would make sense but that also would be only viable with that build and thus limiting the game just play for condi. (funny how everyone is tunning to easy spam of condi since pressure makes easy to stress up most players) even i ended droppign guardian to play dd ele, condi engie, necro condis…
Btw i have no problem killing bunkers or forcing them out of circle, that would even make them squishier.
Shield users have very low mobility most of the time, since they also use focus, and high mobility burst classes can down easilly any guardian bunker if they dont spam randomly their skills.
I would Merge SD with SiN and add the new trait in place of SiN, by taking out the 20% shield CD and adding anything else, or making boon durations % of your vitality or toughness, since guardian is heavy dependable of boons for a good performance.
Also added some new bonus to retrebutive armor for better “interaction” between radiant defender and retrebutive armor
Loved your skills on shield, the shield root is a ver yeasy way to get youself killed, a guardian that gets spiked by heavy AOE at that time might not have time for reaction :P

Remove blast from player own fields and every one looses, and players needs to play better as a team, or change enterlly how blasts works and fields.
Change the overlords to compensate a bit the blasts loss.

I will main Rev along Engie but I cannot ever see myself using ventari the way it is now. At all.
Makes more sense play shiro/mallyx while side by side with a engie :\, engie has waterblast, cc, condi, aoe, supporter toolkit.
-Output damage to high, easy to face melt with AOE gimmicks and numbers.
-Patch made even harder and almost impossible for some “skilled” players that could take 2-3x their numbers.
- Classes are worthless outside their niche of gimmik builds (no true balance and huge effectivess gap).

I have an idea of organizing events in EotM in which the 3 comamders know where the enemys are and farm on the map whitout fighting.
I’d like to know if this is in some way against the rules and/or offending against anyone or in any way forbidden?

U must be a new Skrit playing gw2, EOTM is already a avoid to fight and only farm mobs zone.

, at least ventari does not run out from combat nor decides to go to midle of the aoe hot zone.
This is exactly what i cant understand atm on the game balance.
How is possible this genra of skills to work since everything is “squishy” in a fast action pace, w/o a hybrid “role” system, all players need, is find best and faster way to kill the targets being in large groups or small group no point at taking this skills atm.
@Roy if is reading this; SW never worked that well, easy to kill(can be ignored), bad A.I, slow, and they are worse in larger combat(useless)and this for like ~2+ years, IT is needed to change some game mechanics to get players outside all play copy pasta builds for gimmick tactics. (just using SW as example).
Otherwise we players will end only with the option to play condi or condi hybrid shiro/deamon, as some other classes ended with just one or 2 top notch builds due output damage being only thing that matters.
As for spvp/stronghold it looks far better than bunker guard, it looks interesting.

This is only easy to get abused in WvW,,, but wvw for Anet is casual, non revelant stuff. i supose people will start dropping the mesmer search since castles are bigger and theres alot of places to hide them.

If they change it so it would give the 10% damage to allies as well when attacking people in your symbols, then it would give a whole new meaning to a staff/mace guardian bunker. Zeal might actually be a favorable part of some builds and writ of persistance might become much much more favorable to pure of voice if that was the case.

A defensive play style will not work withing the actual gameplay becouse is very lack luster against offensive.
.Not to mention that offensive specs still have room to be effective using the same gear just exchanging some traits, weaponsets or skills to be more defensive i.e. Warrior can just use base Warhorn for Weakness uptime, Banner of Defense instead of Signet, and Guardian can just camp Hammer if needed be for perma protection uptime, Eles always have waterfields on demand, and Necromancer will have blindness uptime, Revenant has Staff 3, etc. no actual need to go full healing support, when you can mitigate a ton of damage via boons, conditions, traits, evasion and blocks.
Guardian can play defensive roles effectively, but more importantly has a lot of survivability. Revenant is squishy atm.
Offensive specs will always work under defensive configurations, and that is pretty much limited, players will always choose best weapons for hight damage instead of game mechanics becouse those mechanics are very underwelming.
Defensive rev it looked to squishy for what ive watched in streams and youtube videos, about guardian defensive capacities atm they are a bit awkward i never had problem with them and i find them really weak compared with the possibilities we had, i could bunker 1 d/d ele for a very good time if i didnt kitten ed my skill cooldowns and now i need to play mostly zerker and retreat try again, what i wanted do say is that stats are barelly useless with the actual state of the game(not all classes can use stats effectivly as others), reason revenant looks squishy if tried to play defensivly theres no trade off between game styles, being the output damage the best solutions
So why anet keep adding defensive stats(and gameplay) if game is not supporting that gameplay style? that is the reason some specs on Revenant looked underhwelming.

Tempest is not the dps specialization so every one hates it.
Well, they did promise new playstyles for your class and all we got is dagger 2.0. Can’t blame people for being mad.
Aoe stun brake and true boon sharing is a new playstyle for the ele class.
So it more of an made up “mad” that ppl are dealing with.BRAKE. BRAKE
Tempest and/or warhorn has no synergy with neither dagger nor scepter, the shouts and heal skill (and elite) is utter garbage, and basically there’s nothing new brought to the table whatsoever, except the 30s cd boonshare (yay, we get to share 5s protection and 11 sec 3stack might)It realty dose not need full synergy in the ideal of dmg but dagger even scepter gives the ele the abitly to blast heal and some level of cc. The WH has more to do with your pt then with your own skills. If all your giving is 5 s of protection and 11 sec of 3 stack might your doing it wrong (though they get a +2 sec if you swap to earth for added effect) the ideal is to boonshare when you have some of the strongest stab and protection effect in the game. On top of that doing all of this well timed allows you to self stun brake high protection duration and aoe stab (10 stacks) with an added stun brake for your team there is simply no other class in the game whom can do this.

Guardian is not a new way to play the ele class. That the thing this is a question of ele playing differently not ele playing something comply different from every thing in the game. You could say dragon hunter plays like ranger or any dps play like one class or another but a dragon hunter plays different from an guardian. Also guardian cant aoe stun brake the passive build your talking about only gives aoe stab to your team the stun brake is self only.

Anet is adding more “mechanics” to the game why only guardian should be similiar to that?
In long term every class will do a bit of what other classes do, that is the no trinity game, problem is players want all their options to face melt targets, instead of wanting other roles/ different ways/mechanics to play each class and ask for a better balance between those roles, but this is Anet fault becouse they are poorly balancing overall class mechanics.

It was strong within meditation builds, symbol(20%)+ji+GS(WW) while under quickness plus fire damage +7%, was a teleport blender, funny how some classes were allowed to have same burst capacity at that time and guard got “balanced”.
Altough was good for mace builds since every one atacks range nowadays, problem ive been noticing is that theres no one on Anet (is willing to) play guardian and they only work class under espsorts medibuilds, even mace-shield pseudo bunkers can be downed in few seconds and almost all classes can be bulkier(in a sense of better survivability) than guard w/o loosing much offensive.

The unbalancement comes from lack of mechanics or poor mechanics vs strong and active mechanics, this is why some light armor classes have better burst and surviability than others even high armor becouse high armor is useless in some classes since the only thing that matters atm is damage being in high hits or bursts.
It is a lack of mechanics and semi-roles aviability on most classes, while DD(as example) can do a bit of everything, other classes will strugle becouse will loose all the offensive, and being defensive will not work becouse… well game is made for not working where a class like revenant depends on defense.
Reason game feels(is) inba and ravenent is weak outside deamon and shiro roles
Guardian is in a similiar situation if trying to play with defensive setup.

I think it really can’t be THAT bad to nerf D/D in favor of making Scepter, Staff and Focus more worthful to be used…
People won’t start using underpowered weapons just because you nerf the only viable one.
Well both are right :\, but that happens becouse builds that dont have big nor fast numbers showing up arent viable nor have other mechanics viable to play, thus some classes end up with better tunned up roles for damage in a damage mentality game, if aint doing it, build will end not working becouse cant kill.
The solution is not put weapons on a underpowered level but to make all others stats and mechaics viable, let my try to exemple, reason why ele DD is very strong is becouse it uses well all stats while most of other classes stats barelly work (barelly worths take them) it is a matter of “unbalanced” classes facing a suposed well working build wich has skills that depends all stats.
Its a matter of trade off and their effectivess wich atm is basicly a game of bring high numbers and burst to win.
