I dont play ele nor own HoT, i only have information by watching streammers and im not happy how this classes are being designed, they are not bringing anything new to the game, just some more of the same with another name….
Nerf cele d/d performance(for a more balanced fight) and make overload a big boost skill similar how death shrowd works, but on ele while overboosting the selected element while is not atuned to other, it is like ele dd would loose that gimmick build but would win a very good skill, i would not mind if overload becomes a bit OP, it is their elemental elite specialization after all…
For what ic on some stream tempest doesn’t had anything new nor from previous gw1 gameplays into gw2.
Are these new elite weapon/specs designed to work only on HoT pve, and barelly usable on the rest of the game???

i just feel that as a Thief we get outclassed in EVERYTHING…..(..)
i wont even talk about the guardian that can be FULL DAMAGE and still be a tank cause of infinite aegis and invulnables etc….

It is just a feeling becouse theres alot of AOE to win in this game.
Less spam, dont use your thief like a warrior.
, and dont burst all your skills on it while guardian is using focus SoW…
Only guard invulnerability is on a 72-90CD, still damaged by conditions.
And thiefs only have problems with “fierish” GS medi guards, due mostly if get cought on WW aoe heavy damage + fire, anything else on guardian is easily defeated.
Some classes still have better options on survivability w/o loosing all the offensive aspect, a guardian that plays mostly defense is a dead one, all he is gona do is leech on playing always with a team mate, die on point circle, or leave when feel pressured.
(edit), if ur dying with fire stacks against a guardian ur not playing your thief well.
(edit2), The diference betteen the heavy armored class and light armor damage reduction goes arround 10%, while many light classes still have better offensive capabilities with good sustain based on waterfields, evades, stealth, Guardians in this case w/o a focus, renewed focus, shelter blocks, would loose to any class….remember their low hp pool, w/o those timed blocks they are easilly downed if they cant escape.

What ic, is lacking to bow classes in general are bow mechanics… LB makes same damage at close and long range there isnt even need a l2p mechanics here, just stack/sustain output damage, but that is comprehensible, since it is the only stats that matter, so those skill will have only damage being in raw power or condi, there is not clever gameplay besides stacking damage.
Gw2 is a very lackluster in terms of class mechanics, it is not DH only, any changes to DH are only possible after hot being on the table for quite some time.

Hell, here is a test for you GW1 vets, tell me ANYTHING you remember (without googling it) about the skill Spoil Victor. It can be anything from it’s skill type or what profession even had it.
You are just angry that Guild Wars 1 is far more pvp orientated than guild wars 2. Guild Wars 2 pvp down right sucks in comparison, which is why the vast majority of the people quit.

HAHAHAHA, GW1 PvP better? Maybe if you didn’t PvP very much. Once you played it for thousands of hours its true colors start to shine. In it’s own category, yes. It actually had GvG, Heroes Ascent and Random Arena’s. Something ArenaNet clearly doesn’t care about.
Mechanically it is a complete mess. It WAS Build Wars.
GW1 PvE is incredibly easy, once you get a discord team going you can just clear the most of the game on hard mode. PvP was in the same pool, sure, you had a high level play but then you got cheese like spiritway that you can faceroll to pro-level. In nearly every meta there was a team comp that allowed players to faceroll to victory. Oh, rank 9+ btw, because, CLEARLY, IWAY required more button mashing.
The fact is GW1 PvP has not aged well. I take that back, GW1 has not aged well.

-Gw2 pve is also easy to easy, easy pvp since has less team effort , one class can do role of several, barelly needs to play what ANET makes strong, since game is not balanced but a shift in meta/classes to play (gw1 also was similar).
Gw1 gimmick at least needed more team knowledge and effort, gw2 player want to be easy and heavily rewarded, will cry on forum if class is not OP or need to think to down target.
-GW2 has less skills yet awfully balanced, play meta builds or be ready to loose.
It looks like both games have alot in common…..
Anet had to change to the cheap moba style that new kids on the block took as new stuff imported from modded warcraft 3.. because that is what cool kid play right?

Why is shield useless?
Becouse besides that KB it is useless.
With focus u can still stack on your ally toon and still protect him with focus(at least he wont take all the damage.
With shield it will root u and thats a bad thing in a game were every one has high mobility gameplay, shield defense is basicly useless and dome time can get borked, for prot on shield 4, nothing beats a guardian with hammer, and the toughness shield gives is also useless, better have focus/torch that makes damage, since it is the only thing that matter in this game.
@ElRazz.1823: pve in this game is so easy u could do it w/o any armor(open world content), just play ful specced for damage only and your will kill your enemies very fast.

I dont believe they will fix the shield (at least in the the next 6-8 months ), if they change is to loose the range AA defense that buble has, so they can make range casters/users more effective, like nades, ranger, DH, and those u want that kind of defense will have to play ravenant.
SoA dome duration bug was never fixed so that means having a defensive class is not what they want, or they prefer to ignore.

Very true, i usually use hammer for the ring, but i doubt i could even trap him, since it is a range “blinker”, i dont know if he was using packet editors, but one thing i noticed for shure, that build avoids (at least that player) was invisible most of the time, like avoiding the thief stealth Revealed when he atacked en entered in stealth at the sime second.
hammer or gs would not matter in that case, i didn even had time to put WoR in place.

It absolutely would suck to get hit by a Grenade Barrage and an Orbital strike all at once. You’d lose half your HP or more. I like the idea of it

It was in radiance if i recall it, got removed.
On another note SBI,MAG,CD are in a community made fights tier(Tier3) so all the top guilds are here and competition is fierce, many guilds and players get broken because they cant handle it so unless you are into hardcore raiding and want to fight the best I would not come here.

These self appointed ‘top guilds’ have as many scrubs as every other guild in the game.
Like everyone else, they get smashed by blobs and fair poorly when caught roaming around (I’m sure having their little commie guild build makes them extra squishy).
Funny thing, becouse one thing that dont exist in this game is Top Guilds, with the exception of a top gw1 guild that comes to gw2 will still be a top guild.
Even so i would not believe that they would stay that longer…..
For what i heard and see, NSP comunity is the most stable, still might be the smallest or one of the smallest at this time.

I fougth a perma stealht thief the other day he had alot of condi pressure, i used my 3 imobs on him..(tryed to), the 2 that hitted him had no effect, i was a complety a ragdoll against that…

They are not all mesmers, you need to divide the total number by 4.
All i notice in WvW are large groups (~30-40+) with alot of necros and eles, gltch a bit the fov to clean everythign in wall, in 2 seconds, no one can get near due massive aoe and siege is really weak will melt really fast due massive aoe that almost reach the inner side of the wall.
Before the patch a smaller group could be clever and take them down, now it is if aint bigger aoe GTFO.
Tho smaller groups will still work against very bad players/commanders, or against blobs that dotn have much of AOE or condi bomb capability.
Game had more avaliable tactics before the big patch.

Oh.. well.. back to STO gona make a new character.
Any aoe build will clear that… since most blobs are aoe condi not even jump doge will help u much…. and that a very low mobility, low mobility means that will loose against any class with better mobility and range/aoe u wont even triger mace for heals.
ex: since the buff on engie explosion radio it is even easier to joke with bunker guards, as some one that played frontline sturdy build, nowadays they are very very easy to get them down, and they are nto helping much the team.
(edit) it will work if the other zerg is awfully bad, and have low condi pressure and not much aoe.

Free players will be time gated, will be BLT item gated etc, skill gated….etc gated…

IT will be a good boost for some game modes.
You either are matched with stacking burn guardians or eles with celestial stats. Its every match. Heres to another 3 years of unbalance.
playing when these classes are overpowered prepares you for a sea of stomps when the balance shifts to favor your class.
is gonna be fun indeed…but this is taking way too much…
The changes might not be that different from what we have now.
Expect 4-6 months after HoT, meanwhile in that time, WVW tourney season, pvp tourney, then they will shift meta(as in most efficient class) to another class.
Ah, and they will nerf guardian shield, since not all guardians using meditations gs build.

There isnt much to read if they dont want to tune up the class.
They gave fire so guards need to play with meditations and fire it is fine for them, also if i recall, the only dev that played guardian no longer works at Anet.
I do not have an issue with the guardian class, fine, allow them to have a condi build built around fire… but considering how much burn damage does compared to other conditions.. broken.
Even on gw1 fire had more degen than other condis, that is fine if i recal other condis were hald fire degen, was 8 ticks degen, that would make any player that had condis on him go from “i think ill be ok, but i will be need help” to “panic”, if stacked with other condis ofc.
if i recall the only skill with more degen than fire was life transfer with a -12 aoe degen.

My proposal is to make WvW easier to reward and less based on grind and/or population imbalances. As for the empty world between fights, you misunderstand. I’m saying WvW will be as it always is during the rest of the day. Guilds that schedule for a siege are not guaranteed to defend or attack because the ownership of the objective might change until the “scheduled” siege begins.

I like the idea of getting 1 armor set per rank category. 1for gold, 1 for silver, etc…
I would like to see unique stuff on WvW, and less karma flipity so guild could basicly make keeps their “precisous” insert Smeagol voice in that word
What if instead lvl reward, theres is a system based on WXP and WP, items are selected as a prize and can be only obtained from the guild holding the castle, each tower/keep have their own items, from a special merchant, and thus each merchant having a different pool of items, being WvW skins for armor/weapon, t4-t6 mat crates, precursors and ascended gear, panic black market supply for tower (airship delivery) etc. ?
Items obtained via that merch are automatically tunned for that player char/account cant be tradable nor sold on BLT.

This would imply guild would had the tower/keep for a very long period duration, each 7-8h would imply a X War Point, being each reward price based on item.
Then the price for this prize is reduced by X WP(War Point ), and WXP from that Guild.
What if we had Expeditious Spirit removed for a change of a trait that make litany of wrath healing more on crits, like healing criticals ?
or
-make LoW transfer condition to target while in effect or for X secconds.

If we keep spirit weapons functional as they are, Timed Summons I would prefer a more disposable minion type gameplay with shorter cooldowns.
Even with the short cooldown they are useless.
Any player that has more speed movement , SW wont touch them, basicly almost all players..
Their attack is slow, their cast time is enough to get you in trouble or downed, can be kited easily w/o much movement, i even tried a condi build for guardian using them, having 3 imobs in build, still did not worked.
(edit) it is like Anet is doying class control, they cant tune up the Guardian becouse class is so awesome that every one would play one.
Yet is class less played for sure by Anet.

I like the proposal of retaliation having lower uptime duration but doing damage as a precentage of the damage recieved, adjusted by power. So you will still need to gear for power but now the damage is scaled by damage recieved.
lower uptime should help prevent perma retaliation on guardians.
The scaled power will make it fairer by not punishing Engies with their flame throwers while at the same time kill shot warriors will need to think about sniping a guard with retal up.
It would be a good idea but for how long it would work?
That means that players will still need to look up the target boons, retal got nerfed because player don’t want to pay attention and want to press buttons, even if retal was just a small duration boon…
I got pretty low esteem for the gw2 game community in terms of quality atm (i might be having a very wrong idea but it is what i see now), what ic is that players want the build to reward what/how they think they should be rewarded, so as example a killshot or a ranger (has any other class) don’t want to be punished if they dont pay attention, they just want to make a very good damage being at solo target or hitting the larger group w/o that punishment, players here feel very rewarded if their build does that.
If it was a just a matter of reduce boon time, Anet already had done it.

The problem with castles/towers and wvw is…. well its to farmable, and besides a ppt tick for a useless tier ladder i dont see any reason to do it, everything is this game is getting way to easy…

Chill, problem is that in this game player only need to improve their output damage and pick the class/build that cast spam more.
Let me give u an example, i traded for a new condi build and got out of “the play how u want”, and started to play “what kills with less effort”, play what dev’s make to strong.
Problem with this game is that balance word for Anet mean shift a easy gimmick meta for another, and they change when that meta gets played to often.
Gw1 gimmicks required more game knowledge and effort/team work than gw2.
And yes there are few build that are brain dead, that will resut mostly into a easy win, but that is becouse balance between builds is a thing that is almost inexistent.
And to think that they avoided that ~280 skills per class to balance the game, where game got even worse…

It’s so easy to counter burn guards. Please L2P, it really is a L2P issue when people complain about burn guards or engies.
d/d ele op, Inc guard nerf on next balance patch!.. and tooltips fixes. :P
@OP u play pvp if u like it….. or if want to test and learn few builds to counter it.

Build is easy kitable for range specs and doest have much pressure, for a team i would sugest use to GS or specter-focus, and hight burst builds will eat that since u are not using focus+shelter, u can even trait virtue of justice to immobilize combined to specter that is 2 imobs.
Also get a fire condi build u can take purging flames to ~10k+ (on a perfect world) on full effect and if u keep pushing enemies towards it.
As for shield, SoA dome can fail easilly, and since it roots to one place and does not offers the tools that pay off guardian by getting rooted, Kb will mostly fail if player get tricked into a smoke field, thief doesn’t even needs to get invisible and will still down your ally, dome Kb will miss due smoke field, overall doest not worth it.
if it is for pve u can go even w/o armor for silverwastes… i would recommend to get real squishy and increase your damage by a very good amount, pve is really easy once u get used to.

Imo i see no reason to have a full class changer, but does not mean that other would not use it.
We would see players flipping to the class that Anet elects “as most effective” most of the time.

Players want to keep spamming w/o thinking much and dont want to be pusnished if they need to look for a opening on that group, that take to much effort and players end complying that they get some damage when they use aoe spells w/o looking at target boons.
Sadly not so long time ago, i still noticed players dying to my 240 retaliation on 1vs1…. sometimes i love macroers, a good value on retaliation is a way to fight them.

Actually this makes sense but gw will be the casual raid where every one is effective., stack at corner find easy ways to make raid efficient etc.
The only difference will be mobs that hit like bosses and insta down players.
I would give an example of a mmo’s that has open world bosses like that….. yet guilds with 40-30 players fail at it really fast.

Instead of limiting what free accounts can do, maybe they should start fixing the issues in WvW which allows players to troll.
Put a cap on how much supply a single player can take from a objective so a single player can’t waste it all.
Put a debuff on players who die in a golem which prevent them from entering new ones.
Fix the bugs which has sit on their bug tracker for years which allow people to glitch into places. Put in safeguards to detect people who speed hacks, wall hacks, or some other form of hacks.
Well golems would be good if they had a option to lock golem with 3 option, by the one who drops the blueprint, it is not that hard to fix it…….
