RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
Tired of hearing these casual vs hardcore debates.
Casuals make up a majority of the player base, buy the fluff on the gem store, and pay for the bulk of new updates.
Hardcores push the content, force developers to make and develope new content, and are more proactive in identifying game issues.
A successful game needs both sets of players.
That is true, but ANet don’t give a crap about hardcore that’s why the whole debate thing going on right now. GW2 is so far 100% casual with no challenging content.
Fractals and ascended gear don’t exist I guess. And any dungeon that isn’t cof p1. Your right, 100% casual, no challenging things at all.
I’m sorry but the dungeons and fractals in this game aren’t fun for various reasons. I know they want everyone to be able to play this as a first MMO and what not…But cmon.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
Here is a more updated link with the gear I use most of the time in PvE/WvW, even if the stats are off slightly. Keep in mind at 80 you will probably need at least 2 different sets of gear though.
As far as engineers builds go….I haven’t played one since beta, so I really don’t know much about the class anymore. I wish I could help there, but maybe a kind engineer can step in to help.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
To me honestly it sounds like you should stick with your Guardian since you seemed to enjoy it the most even without ranged options.
If ranged is a must and you are a mostly PvE player, Ranger is a fairly strong choice IMO, but some will disagree with that. I love my Ranger, even if I hardly ever log on and play her.
Well, my Engineer is Lv. 61 and my Guardian is Lv. 53 (I don’t have any Lv. 80 characters), just to show my dedication for those two chars.
I am purely PvE (I used to do dungeon runs every so often, but now dungeons seem empty, so that’s out). I don’t PvP or WvW. I can’t even remember much of what the Ranger was like, since it’s been so long, but if I do go Ranger, I’d like a good PvE Survivability build to make up for the lack of heavy armour and other defensive skills that the guardian has.
Check out some of the Ranger dps/support builds they have in the Ranger forums. I feel like ranger has a pretty high survivability even with medium armor from all the skills that dodge etc.
It’s been so long since I really played mine that I can’t give you an up to date build, but they are out there. Maybe give Ranger a try to 30 or 40 or so then pick up the Engi or Guard if it’s not working out. I know that’s not the best option but I have been in the position you are in before, and sometimes it pays to just try them all as much as you can.
Alright, I’ll try to do that. I should also mention I don’t want any builds that require me to constantly swap/switch weapons/whatever. That’s the main reason I hated GW2’s Elemenetalist.
In PvE I found Short Bow or Axe and Torch or Horn to be the most effective for survivability/killing things. Keep in mind I used a condition build however.
The thing I don’t like about shrotbows (especially after looking at some builds) is that you have to be hitting the target from the side or the back for it to be effective.
Makes sense. Most of the time I ran around with axe/torch or axe/horn anyway. Able to hit multiple targets easier, easier to apply dots, etc.
I actually liked Axe/Axe. Had decent damage, range, and AoE, alongside some other utility skills.
I was looking at Guardian builds, and to be honest, they are either purely defensive-healing-tank (and therefore dish out next to no damage), or purely offensive builds (and therefore can die fairly easily). I haven’t seen any builds that aren’t “heal-slaves” or “kamikaze”, or at least ones that combine the two and actually work.
Also, I am trying to do the same with my Engineer. It’s either Flamethrower-only (because of Juggernaut) or Bomberman, with very little focus on actually using your weapons and instead constantly switching/swapping kits and spamming elixir utility skills and running around. While the Flamethrower IS fun, it’s useless in big event, like Southsun. 1-hit ko.
Not sure what to do. :s
With guardian, this is what I usually run with in PvE and a lot of times even in WvW. It’s a good mix match of offensive and defensive stats. I tend to gravitate towards berserker/knights armor with a few cleric pieces to get my healing power up to a respectable amount. With this build I have around 2000 power and 1700 toughness, 40% crit rate with 50% increased crit damage, and 700-900 healing power depending on which weapon I have up. Maybe this will help. I can solo champions in PvE with this build, and it’s not a slouch in killing things either. These are all estimates btw I’m not at home atm.
http://www.gw2builds.org/create/bwe_1/guardian#0.0.2.0-2.5.10.7.1-30.0.10.30.0-3.5.12.7.8.7.1
EDIT: In PvE you may want to swap out the utilities for more defensive minded ones. This is personal preference I believe. Also it seems the calculator I was using may be out of date. The point spread is the same either way however.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
(edited by Aeonblade.8709)
I do not think there is a way to keep both pieces of gear and swap the stats. That would invalidate the point of forcing people to buy transmutation crystals.
And I know no way of taking a sigil out and keeping it without salvaging the item. I know you can replace sigils obviously, but the old one is destroyed.
Not really the answers you were looking for I know heh
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
I frequent the forums quite a bit and have read many posts about the end game and raids and such like that.
I liked your post, so please don’t take the following as criticism.
I suspect much of the desire for “raids” and “end-game” comes from a more basic desire for challenging content. We don’t need boring treadmills for entertainment, and I hope future MMOs refuse to milk players through such a tedious mechanic.
I think those of us who want depth—and this seems to be a rather large number of players if you have followed the fan forums, blogs, etc. since release—will be satisfied when dungeons become more than dps vs. hp sponge fights and rewards are commensurate with the level of effort and skill players demonstrate in dungeons. (For example, a hard mode could have a chance to drop a rare weapon skin.) Mechanics will need to be overhauled, but it can be done in such a way that the game is easy to learn but difficult to master—accessible to all, fun for all. (I don’t think this can be done until an expansion, however.)
There will always be people who don’t understand this game and want raiding progression tiers, but if ArenaNet satisfies the need for in-depth content, I suspect those kinds of posts will diminish significantly.
I say this as someone who has 100% map completion and done most of the activities you’ve mentioned in your list. I commend you for posting them, but I think something else is, at least in part, driving the discontent you see.
2.) WvW – afraid you’re not good at PvP? Or feel you don’t enjoy it? At least give this a shot. I was really frustrated with PvP myself and would like to see more modes, but WvW is on a different level and the giant battles can be an absolute riot.
3.) sPvP – why am I putting this here when I said I don’t enjoy it? I’ll tell you why. Once custom arenas are out, man it’ll be awesome having your own guild arena and doing guild matches for fun.I think when WvW makes some necessary changes (AoE cap anyone?) and sPvP is finally balanced and fixed, we’ll see more people playing and enjoying the game. I know for any MMO I’ve played, PvP was the ultimate end-game, since the most stimulating challenge is competing against another human being. I’m not saying it’s that way for everyone, but I know for many it’s what keeps them coming back day after day.
Custom arenas are exciting, but without a reworking of the skills and traits in this game, I am not sure they will last as a competitive scene.
Well said reply, and good post OP. This is a good primer for people looking for something to occupy their time if they have not done so already, thanks
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
so which one is it?
Heh, get used to it. Go to any MMO of your choosing with an active forum and look at the topic discussions for the past 10 days. You’ll find 1 thread of each on there, guaranteed.
This topic is older than graphical MMOs.
No, seriously, it really is.
Exactly. Neither elitist nor casuals ruin a game, and most of us know. Now people that troll the forums incessantly and attack others like some of the people in this thread, ahem, are more harmful to the game than any set of player type
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
If you enjoy the game so much, go play it how it is, and let us discuss ways to make it better.
The problem with that is a lot of the things you want to “make it better” I say would make it worse. I don’t want progression. At all. And a lot of people agree with me. Maybe it’s even, maybe it isn’t. But those of us on the no progression said automatically win for one simple reason; Arena Net doesn’t want progression. If they did then the game would have had progression from the beginning.
We can compromise of course. I don’t think anyone would have a problem with raids or progression if it were cosmetic only, or something other than stats and wasn’t used as a content gate. But progression and raiding as they are in other games? No.
I have no desire for stat based progression either. This thread has mainly been about the point of design decisions in game during inception/creation and up until today. It’s got a very contradictory design on the whole at the moment.
You may have been talking to someone else about raid progression, because I have no desire to raid or have a traditional treadmill
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
I will say my Norn feels like she is slogging through water everywhere she runs, even out of combat.

So GW2 lets people play their way, unless that way is how most people play mmo’s?
Actually, kinda yes. GW2 is trying to be different, to shake up the stagnate genre.
If you’ve played GW2, you’ll notice its just a different take on WoW, Anet’s take on it, but there is clear inspiration in EQ-like games rather than in GW1. There are dozens of kill 10 rats quests, and the interesting quests just got moved out into the open world. That’s it, that’s really the main “shaking up” GW2 did, right until you reach max level, where Anet says “the game is over guys, make an alt until we make new content you can beat in a few hours.”
From my perspective what’s happening is that the devs are not industry veterans in MMO’s, since GW1 was hardly an MMO, and thus the game has very muddled core design goals.
Except that the founders of Arena Net also made a little game called World of Warcraft.
Oh yeh completely forgot about that, I guess the design is muddled b/c they were trying something new and paradoxical to the endgame.
You’re still struggling with that whole “subjective opinion” thing aren’t you? I like Guild Wars 2 as it is, and so do lots of other people. And clearly it was designed with players like us in mind. You say paradoxical to the endgame, I say improvement. I like that there is no progression, I like that “the whole game is endgame” and I like that there isn’t a mandatory Skinner Box.
You’ve already said that you’re going to uninstall and quit the game, while you’re at it stop signing into the forums. You’re not happy here and we’re not happy with you here; you’re preaching to people who disagree and don’t want to hear it, and banging your head against a brick wall with your arguments. Just stop. Go do something else. You’ll feel a lot better, I promise.
It’s a pretty even split so far of people who agree or disagree. Do better than just generalizing if you are going to try to stir up a constructive thread, we have already had to deal with more of this earlier in the thread. If you enjoy the game so much, go play it how it is, and let us discuss ways to make it better.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
I guess you missed the part where I said I wasn’t interested in them. That’s like telling me to go craft or something. I’m just plainly not interested in half content, a lot of us need more than that.
Just realized who I was talking to again. This is a waste of type space and time.
Well, it’s content whether you’re interested or not. If you proclaim no permanent content has been released, and you’re completely wrong, why should anyone listen to anything else you say?
I’m glad that a few guild missions are acceptable for months of waiting for you. Some of us would like a game to play. I never once said they hadn’t added ANY content by the way. I said no lasting content and that it felt hollow. Your words not mine. Keep opening your mouth and shoving your own foot in, it’s amusing, especially since we all know who you are.

If they want to throw skill into the equation then they should add a couple of the spvp maps to wvw. Some tight close quarters action might be fun with 100 people,
but…but…How will the uplevels man all teh arrow carts?!?
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
My perception is less updates. We haven’t had a real lasting content patch in several months now. The game is getting stale, we need updates and bug fixes.
We need a rework of world drop rates and the ability to get items from killing monsters reliably too, a lot of us have been waiting months for these updates.
I give them a B-, because at least it’s not as slow as other games, but even with patches every month they seem hollow and empty of any substance.
So Guild missions aren’t real content. Gotcha.
Nope, not for small guilds. Will never see them. Well maybe in 6 months we can unlock a few. Plus it’s not content I or anyone else in the guild is excited for or wants to do.
So what else have they added again? Keep trying.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
figured I’d let ya know, I just let everyone else know who ya are, happy hunting on the forums.
It’s just bad all around for everyone, no one can give any constructive criticism or express an opinion without having their thread hijacked by the same copy and pasted responses. Don’t let him get to you, I’d be bitter if all I had was my copy of GW2 too.

This thread got better over the night while I was gone lol.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
As with almost all posts, both sides have valid points (but, as usual, rely on sarcasm or overbloated examples to try and get their point across).
Reality is, we have no idea how the money from GW2 store sales is spent. However, I think it is unreasonable (and extremist) to believe none of that money is making it back into GW2. At the same time, it is unreasonable to believe that none of it is being spent on operational or infrastructure projects (or even other company projects). Anyone who thought otherwise simply doesn’t understand how businesses work.
Keep in mind that it was probably money from other projects that made GW2 possible in the first place.
People tend to oversimplify these things in attempts to prove the exact points they are trying to make, when the truth is things are never that simple. I’m sure much of the money is making it back into GW2, but much is probably being spent on many other things (just as revenue from those other games is being spent to make GW2 better – its called diversifying your portfolio and it can be a good thing).
To the OP’s original point, I think the developers are still trying to find their cadence and balance with game updates. The best thing the community can do is continue to make level-headed posts (I know these are rare) about the direction we would like to see the game take.
I, like many, still enjoy the game alot, but would like to see more challenging content – specifically, I want them to revamp the dungeons to include content that rewards working together (AC was a baby step in this direction) and communicating more – and to add more types of, and polish to, guild missions (which were a huge step in the right direction).
I haven’t seen you around here much, but I like you already. This is a good post, read it guys, even if I don’t completely agree with it

Though it was rude of your zerg to interrupt our ERP,
Man…that last picture…the laughs are endless.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
Let’s try it this way: ANet said Guild Wars 2 would not be grindy at all.
They said nothing of the sort. From what I understand, they’re just gonna make grinding less… mindnumbing than standing in 1 spot for hours everyday killing the same mobs over and over and over again.
Wow. Just wow. What was it someone said about feeling like we are in 1984? lol.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
So GW2 lets people play their way, unless that way is how most people play mmo’s?
Brilliant.
Anet should thank the stars they already got our money.
Pretty much. It’s a completely mind boggling game of mechanics cancelling each other out the moment.
“Farm t6 mats for any of the decent skins and legendaries! Oh by the way we are removing pretty much any reliable way of being able to farm them so screw everyone hahaha! You want fun? Not for you!”
In Anet’s defense I’m starting to think maybe NCsoft is the one responsible for this game having no personality and ADHD.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
Players in Zergs generally haven’t or don’t want to experience the challenge of killing players outside their comfort level. Perfect example is when a small group splits off 5-10 from the back of a Zerg, that 5-10 gets RICK ROLLED 99% of the time because they were forced to open field and don’t know how to fight that style.
The reason none of you “this is war and war is huuuuuuge numbers winning” people dont want Anet to change anything is because you won’t be able to easily compete with skilled coordinated groups if mechanics force you to fight (OTHER HUMAN BEINGS) rather than the comfort zone of we have 10 more guys spam one we win.
I’m not really one to run with zergs all the time, but this is definitely NOT the reason some people prefer zergs. I’m sure there are those baddies out there, but a lot of people like zerg combat as much as small group combat. It’s a throwback to my DAoC days. Zerg combat is equally as enjoyable to me.
I’m not saying I’m the best player ever either, I have been destroyed in open field as many times as I have killed people if not more. But this is just an untrue blanket statement.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
I’d love to see how DB can match up to say BG and JQ, but I have a feeling we won’t be liking the match up by the end of next week hahaha.
No
Buuuuuut you could check out the SoS vs FA and TC score. FA and TC hate each other a lot however SoS is still doing pretty kitten well for being T4.
Dragonbandwagon couldnt match up to JQ. Wishful thinking though.
I never said we could. Why are you here in our thread again? Don’t you have babies to throw off cliffs or something? I just want the match up to be more interesting, whether we win or lose, is that too much to ask for? I mean JQ and BG can’t beat SoR, I figure we can’t do much worse than Mag+SBI did against our coverage.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
Because as Aethilmar described larger groups / numbers often win a war.
Superior numbers may win a war but not necessarily a battle. You know, war is something that often takes several months and involves tens of thousands of troops. What we have in Guild Wars 2 are small scale fights involving around 80 to 100 people. In reality, a well positioned but outnumbered force could easily win such a fight. Both highly trained and well equipped group could definitely win such a fight*.
So this point of Aethilmar is really quite moot.*For example there was a situation during Operation Desert storm where a single USA tank destroyed several Iraqi tanks at point blank range. The outdated cannons of the Iraqi tanks simply couldn’t penetrate the plating of the Abrams. Just to point out that in reality it’s really not as simple as numbers > everything, especially not in the modern day.
That’s it! Introducing the new piece of siege, the Zerg Buster!

i have some friends that play gw2 that doesnt come to the game anymore because they have nothing to do in the game
I think this is everyone’s friend list atm. Mine is a ghost town most of the time these days, but don’t get discouraged. Stick it out for a while longer, I have a feeling we may be getting some content with some meat on it coming down the pipe soon.
I try to give MMO’s the benefit of the doubt these days. I’m giving Anet a few more months of me doing the daily and WvW. By then they should have more in game for us to do I believe.
Maybe you just make friends that play the same way you do. And I make friends that play the same way I do, because my friends list hasn’t substantially changed at all…except that it’s grown. Most of the people here at launch are still here.
How much do they pay you by the way? I may change my tone if the price is right too.
If they paid me, I probably wouldn’t work this hard. That’s like asking a football fan how much the team pays him to be a fan. Silly question when you think about it.
Almost as silly as you butting into every conversation like a bull hellbent on forcing everyone to agree with you that this game is the best thing since sliced bread and the second coming of Jesus Christ. It gets old, and for a an oldie you sure do act like a petty child all day about video games.
Oh noes people don’t like the game I like, time to completely lose my mind and froth at the mouth for a few hours!

Asura on the left :-)
That poor Asura looks like it’s the first set of boobs he’s ever seen. :p
Doesn’t even look impressed if you look at the npc’s face
Ah I took it as a look of “The nerd in the corner staring blankly”. I never can tell what Asura are thinking, they look like aliens!

Dontain is right just check the video
I actually didn’t realize some of what he said in this video. I will not spend another cent of real cash in the gem store now. Very disheartening that NCsoft completely controls the purse strings.
“I’m from America I don’t like gambling in my games and NCsoft should wise the kitten up” Best quote from the whole video btw.

I quit months ago, but I still lurk the forums once in a while to see if anything has changed… By the looks of it, still getting worse.
Or better, depending on your point of view.
Depending on Vayne’s PoV, this game is mother kitten ing aMaZinnngggg!!!! Forevarrr Guilds for life forums for life 24/7 kittens!
Well, I’ve never called the game amazing. Not once. You can look through my posts if you want. I’ve called it good. That’s all. Good, and it needs work. It has the potential to eventually become great…I have said that.
Of course, since you don’t bother to read what I’m actually saying, you’d never know that. lol
No way in hell am I going through your novel of posts, I’ll just take your word for it man…
IMO It’s okay at best, and worth 60 bux, but meh after a play-through or two.
Again, it depends completely on your interests and play style. I have yet to find any MMO I could play for four months. Rift and Lotro were the longest, but even they were just meh to me. So it’s just a matter of opinion.
By the same token I was able to play Guild Wars 1 for close to five years. So yeah, different strokes for different folks.
So far, I’ve played this game for over 3000 hours, so I’d say I’ve gotten my money’s worth, even with the money I’ve spent in the cash shop.
Night and day difference, you and I. I thought both those games sucked, couldn’t play Lotro for more than a few hours and Rift /snore. I played GW1 and absolutely hated it – GW2 was great for a while, but I don’t agree with “Play the game how WE want you to play it, not how YOU want to play it” stance they moved to.
It’s painful to watch a game slowly kill itself with this kind of rhetoric.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
Asura on the left :-)
That poor Asura looks like it’s the first set of boobs he’s ever seen. :p

Just wanna say good luck to Mags and SBI on reset tonight, wanna see you guys kick some kitten next week. Something tells me DB is going to have a tough fight coming up, but we will see!
I’d love to see how DB can match up to say BG and JQ, but I have a feeling we won’t be liking the match up by the end of next week hahaha.

and nobody in that bar looked interested..
Brokeback Bar and Tavern.

I quit months ago, but I still lurk the forums once in a while to see if anything has changed… By the looks of it, still getting worse.
Since all they do is temporary content, nothing at all has changed really, so it’s just the same game it was months ago. The only thing that has actually gotten worse is drop rates and farming. Other than that there have been a few QoL changes for the better and that’s all.
Oh, there are some people with skins you can’t get now.
That’s about it for new content other than guild missions and stuff our guild is too small to do anyway.
WvW is a saving grace my friends!
I love you GW2, even if you are like the cool old aunt of MMOs

Yes, I would love to discourage zerging and redistribute wxp. I wouldn’t want to discourage people from coming to help take objectives though. That isn’t easy to balance. I would say that cracking zergs is easiest when there are more chokes and creative geography to help smaller groups. Zergs flourish on open field, but tend to crash on chokes that can be held by smaller forces. The geography can be changed when we get new maps and map design should reflect anet’s attitude towards zerging.
Perfect answer. Zerging shouldn’t be actively discouraged so much as dangerous to perform correctly on various parts of the map imo.

To pick a main, simply find the class that you enjoy all the weapon combos with.
Pretty good advice but if I did this I wouldn’t have a main haha :P

So he’s proud that his server is now even more stacked than BG and JQ?
Actually no, I just loged in game and at this time JQ and BG are both full. 3:36 US East coast time. While SoR is only very high. Right now BG is leading in PPT. Your servers are still way more stacked than SoR. If your not fielding the players at other times its becasue of what indo said.
Full does not equal WvW population.
Full does not equal stacked.
It does equal server population.
SoR is still stacked with more WvW players than JQ or BG.
BG and JQ have more people that like to play a wide variety of aspects of this game.
The difference is we get our PVEers into WvW. Full does mean stacked btw. FULL means no one can transfer to your server becasue its full. Full means at this time you have more logged in players to your game than SoR does. Get those people into wvw and dont say your not stacked just becasue your not fielding players. If your server is full and your not fielding players work on it, instead of calling very high pop servers stackes.
You do know there a LOT more people that don’t care about WvW than do care right? Trying to get those people into WvW is more hindering than helpful even sometimes. It’s why we went through 8 months of PvE patches for a WvW patch.
Bragging about having a higher PvP population just seems silly. You guys are better than this supposedly, this thread would be that chance to prove it.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
PPT changed while i was writing my post so i edited it for accuracy. You quoted the wrong thing. Still the main point is BG and JQ are more stacked than SoR. We are the underdogs, in terms of coverage and numbers If you look at server population alone. We get people into WvW becasue of our community and perseverance enough said.
You are not the under dogs if you are ranked #1. What the heck dude. You have a higher WvW population than 2 PvE centric servers I guess. Grats.
You know SoR is viewed as one of the more…hostile…server communities right? I don’t know personally, but this post goes against literally everything I have read and heard about SoR lol.
Please recruit in the recruitment forums they added for everyone. Otherwise, keep on trolling :p

There is nothing that inherently makes a Mesmer better than an elementalist, it all comes down to their build and play style and what they’re going up against.
Party wide quickness buff vs. not even a self quickness skill begs to differ.
Bingo. Quickness wins battles.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
There is no measuring stick for skill in this game until you set foot in WvW. Until then you are just clobbering loot biscuits for dungeon tokens.
I’m kidding of course, everyone views skills differently, but this is how I would measure it.

Well, to be fair to the WoW folks, they did sell this game to be everyones game. It made me nervous to hear them say it, since it’s really an impossible goal..
My most valuable life lesson ever learned: don’t believe the marketing hype. Ever.
This about any game, any product in the world.
Sorry just figured this thread needed some humor since we all disagree with each other haha.

.. And now after all the time I spent having fun leveling up, I feel this “meh” feeling now that i’ve reached maximum level.
(Which has never happened to me in any other MMO that I’ve played).
I feel lost.
Anyone else that has felt like this once they got to max level?
If so – what did you do to get your mojo back?! Help!
WvW is the only thing that kept me playing after 3 weeks myself. Give it a shot, even if you aren’t into PvP it can be quite enjoyable.
RIP my fair Engi and Ranger, you will be missed.
Therein lies the crux of a pretty big problem. There are quite a few people playing a very different game in far to many ways. I almost feel at this point this game is trying to be everyones game and it’s hurting them pretty badly.
Oh, yes, very much so. Anet and GW2 are victims of success.
You see, they sold a lot more copies of the game than they thought they would. Something like 3 million in the first two months or so. A lot of these were GW players who wanted to play GW with better graphics. But a million or so were WoW players who wanted to play WoW with better graphics.
This game is neither.
But rather than let GW2 be GW2 and enjoy the game for what it is, people started demanding that they replicate GW/WoW game play, and Anet listened. As a result the game is pulled in several directions and instead of finding its own identity is currently isn’t quite any one game, but a mix of several.
At this point there is no easy fix. But I’d be really, really happy if the WoW kiddies went back to WoW.
You and me both Tol

Warrior can do some heavy damage, but is a lot harder to play in PvP and usually melts in the zerg before they can do enough damage.
They would only melt if they are full glass.
I’m usually one of the last standing if our group gets crushed.
It all depends upon the set up.
I did say usually, I have met quite a few warriors that were phenomenal in PvP/WvW, they are just harder to play effectively I guess was my point.
