Lyssa’s Grimoire – a guide every Mesmer should read.
Mesmer
It has an incredible skill cap, at the lower levels you may feel weak, but once you start to undertand what you can do with a mesmer youll feel invincible, especially in pvp.
At one point you can go full berserker and still take on 5 people, some day
…
I highly recommend power based ear because conditions are rather pointless nowadays.
A glasscannon mesmer may be harder to take down than a full bunker guardian, and the glass cannon mesmer can still pull off impressice burst damage.
Mesmer has the second highest mobilty of all professions, so that already makes it feel more action oriented (especially in pvp)
.
Mesmers are very usefull in a party, even when specced completely for damage. You can simply swap out some utilities for glamours and gain reflection/condi removal skills.
If you want to see what an experienced mesmer looks like when fighting multiple people at a time, theres some videos in my signature link below
.
Cheers,
Alissah
Hmmm…
Guardian – face tank everything, the average player thinks you have to play support as a guardian, this isnt true. Low moblity
Elementalist – in y. Oppinion verh fast paced gameplay, because youre always swappig attunements. You van be at range or melee but you have to choose before each fight. Decent mobility with some weapons.
Mesmer – youre effective at range and melee, depending on your build youre usually jumping from one to another, doing burst damage while conpletely invulnerable, Then Waiting for it to recharge. You have teleports, stealth and high in combat mobility. You can also offer alot of support by simply swapping a few utilities, not losing out on much damage.
The next time you or your friend makes a transaction like this, make screenshots and record the transaction and agreeement.
Sendig a dupport ticket about being scammed should always get reviewed imo, anet has the tools to view chat and sent mails, and i find its very unprofeseional they simply delete your friend’s thread without even a warning/reason/advice.
I really hope a dev reads this, things like this just frustrate me so much…
My advice for now would be to get guildies/friends tofeel sorry and donate a little bit, thats what i would do
. Try not to get scammed again, or just make screenshots for easier reporting.
Ive heard good things about the arenanet customer service/sending tickets… For them to ignore you just seems out of place to me.
Try sending another ticket? Dont forget to put in the exact date of when t happened and stuff like that.
I only run dungeons with my guild/friends nowqdays, after a while you get to know whose good and stuff
.
Generally: i just ask what kind of gear someone is using. If thyre using berserker’s but never go down, then its safe to assume theyre really good
.
As for pvp: duelling someone is a good way to find out how skilled they are
But duels are something completely different than team play ofcourse.
Greatsword has the highest ranged damage in a power build.
The auto attack can hit 3 targets at once,
The phantasm is one o the few aoe ones (the warden needs alot of time to finish the attack and tends to dissipate while doing it)
And it shoots pretty putple lazors while you spin your greatsword in the air
.
I use greatsword in dungeons simply because it has more damage, but i use staff in pvp where i need the defense
I like the torch for pvp, the stealth
. I still prefer my focus but sometimes im just in the mood for change
.
I also use the torfh and staff when were waiting for something at a guild event.
Chaos storm → the prestige = fuschia bubbles everywhere!!
As you gain levels, traits and a general understanding of what mesmers can really do, that feeling will be replaced by the general snobbish attitude that you are a god among men. At that point you are required to wear a flashy, unconventional, high fashion outfit with fuchsia somewhere in your color scheme.
This post brings so many flashbacks… And it has so much truth in it, it almost made me cry :’).
In the next election ill vote you for president for sure
.
This is a strange thread.. I dont see anything :O.
Im going to have to disagree with the title though.
The reward for me is improving and the fun kf killin people, thats all i need
.
I dont hate warriors, neither do i focus them in team fights. I focus whoever is easy to hit and/or low health.
Yea, most of the time thats the warior that stands still swinging his greatsword.
As others have said, there are good tpvp warriors around, but the average warrior you find is pretty horrid, especially because pve teaches them “facetank everything, your heavy armor protects you”.
If your team is being mean, just do tourneys with a group of friends, find a guild or something
.
Im an “above average” player and i still avoid pugs simply because of the terrible people you meet there.
Romek: “an newbie random mesmer playing his class 10 minutes and just press all buttons in teamfight will do better than most warriors out there”
Thats not true at all. Maybe for hot join it is but not for tournaments.
If i find someone in a teamfight who has no idea how to play and just spams all buttons, i call the targt and a few seconds later theyre downed.
In hot joins a “newbie mesmer” can faceroll other “newbies” because they cant even tell the mesmer apart from the clones, let alone counter a burst.
Unlike some/alot of people think, playing a mesmer requires skill.
Hot joins:
Mesmer/Thief/Elementalist
Ranger
engineer
Guardian/Warrior
Necromancer
Tournaments.
Guardian
Ranger/Mesmer/Engineer
Elementalist
Necromancer
Thief
Warrior
Yup, i guess thats about it.
Tournament teams nearly always have a guardian in it. Yesterday i found a team with 2 well necromancers, but most of the times necromancers are just non existant.
I never have had trouble targetin people, i dont even understand whats so hard about clicking things….
People here admitted that tab targeting is too slow, but still insist on using it, why O.o?
I think theres alot of teamplay.
“Just coordinate bursts and rez/stomp”
Its never as easy as “just stomp”
. If you can simply stomp an enemy without the team interupting you, theyre just bad.
Are you playing hot join or tournaments?
Whenever a teammate goes down in a tournament, its practically suicide to just go and revive them, engis are throwing nades at the downed to hit anyone trying to revive, necros put wells on them etc.
Hot join=zerg fest
Tournament=without strategy and teamplay you get facerolled, simple as that
A well placed CC is still effective!
Keyword: well placed
Dont feed the troll
You can already see legendary skins in the PvP item bank. I’ve also seen The Predator’s skin on players, coming from tourney reward chests.
Really, how :O?
Ive went through the locker alot of times, previewing everyhing but ive never seen legendaries :O.
>_>
>_>
Thats all
I just wanted to say: condi warriors hurt pretty bad witha. Longbow
Their pin down skill does 15k bleeding damage in total, ita a fast projectile with ony a 0.25 second activation time!
I dont have condi removal so i leaves me eith 3k health
I can think of 2..
Jumping of the side of rata sum, and trying to slide down aa far as possible. I would often race people to the bottom, the person who comes the farthest wijout dying, wins
.
Bugging and falling through the ground in the harpt fractal. This cna happen if you die in mid air aswell
.
The fall would literally take like 30 seconds, and after theres no way of returning except for respawning….
One time the respawn didnt teleport me to the start but instead i came to live at the bugged ground xD.
Oh, i also like jumping of that high divin plank in lions arch
.
This mesmer with 7 of more clones you saw was using the feared 30/30/30/30/30 build, illusion cap goes up to 10 and illusion summoning skills are reduced by 80%. This is only available to mesmers who are rank 80 in spvp, which is why ts so rare.
Alternatively: when illusions are issued a shatter command, they dont count towards the cap anymore, letting the mesmer create new illusions without the shattering ones dissipating.
This is only possible when the illusions have to run a small while so it should be easy to dodge
.
heavy:: meh. After looking up guardian and warrior roaming theyre just not really my thing. I prefer mobility and avoidance
medium: engineer
. Ive done spvp wih this one, and it just feels so fast paced, always swapping kits and inprovising, the enemy just never knows what you will do next! But thats probably because i sometimes dont know what im doing next either
. There are so many different things to do as engineer so i guess it doesnt matter!
light: mesmer! Ive been a mesmer ever since, and i simply love everything about it.
The description, concept art, skills, graphics, mobility, actie defense>defensive attributes, avoidance, burst damage, lots of viable builds, butterflies, disorienting/overwhelming enemy players and even groups of players… And more!
After spending so much time mesmering i just cant immagine another profession being as much fun
.
Evey time i try another out i always come back!
Haha, wow, thats a pretty intese mail :p
The first personal story mission is: complete a renown heart.
In your 30-45 minutes o playing ou probably conpleted a heart by accident(or on purpose!), which triggered the first personal story mission
.
@tutorial: the beauty about gw2 is thakittens very forgiving, you can play howver you want and youll learn everytjing along the way.
Id recommend joining a friendly guild, so you can ask them questions whenever, aswell as being less lonely on your adventures
.
Cheers,
Alissah
I havent noticed different rings the past few days :o. Ill go check it out when i get back home from work!
Ive never had an issue likethis. My skills always hit my target unless i kittened up something myself (like trying to shoot throuh a wall, being out of range).
Even with dingle target melee skills, always hit my target.
Note: my auto targeting is turned on
Nope, id never exclude someone based on profession.
“Any profession excels at combat eith no exception” -arenanet
I agree with this statement
. Only when doing fractals or somehing you need alteast 1 person with projectile reflection skills, other than that anyone can join. Luckily i have 3 reflections myself sk i dont have to exclude people for that reason
Id also exclude people wih a bad attitude…. Nothing new there
Im not a WoW player or something, but ill share my oppinion anyway.
I spent over 1600 hours on both of y mesmers, and i can happily say that i neer got bored because of the amount of skills available. Even now i havent hitthe skill cap, every day im still learning and trying to improve myself.
The difference between gw2 and other mmos (i did play some mmos with trinities and stuff) is that in gw2 its not which gear or skills you use, but how you use them!
My advice: go play some structured pvp, youll notice everyone has acces to all traits, skills, and gear, but there will still be people who are better than others. This is because theyre sinply more skilled, theres no gear grinding or whateer required. All it takes to become good is alot of self evaluation and practice!
Thats what i love so much about gw2 <3
TL;DR: gw2 is more deep than it may seem, its very skill based and not based on grinding or equipment. Go to Spvp to fight people with the same gear and traits available, and see hoe skill based it is
Cheers,
Alissah
Mesmer
Because its a mesmer
.
Just go with the one you pve/wvw the most with or even fractals the most. Ascended tems are just a small extra stat… But the uniqur quality about them is the agony resistance. So id go with the char you enjoy the most and do the most fractals with.
In my case: mesmer
,
Alissah
My only gripr aboutthe quaggan hats… They hide my hair
and i like my hair!
As for the rng reeards with real money… I simply refuse to gamble!
100 gems for a gamble box with a chance on a really cool weapon? I wouldnt buy it.
1000 gems for a really cool weapon? Id buy it for sure.
Im quite sure theres more people who avoid gambling like i do, arenanet is just missing out on money here, because we dont spend gems while we actually want to.
Heres my suggestion: keep the gamble boxes. But after buying X boxes you automatically get a rare drop.
If id get the awesome weapon after 15boxes gauranteed, i would know hoe much im spending in total, and can better decide if ts in my reach or not. Ofcourse i can also get lucky and get the rare drop early
.
I bought 0 gems so far with really money… If t wasnt for evil gaming i would have that christmass quaggan mini
Gambling makes me sad :’(
Since 2 weeks ive been making mesmer pvp videos, i plan to upload a new one every week or 2 weeks (depends on time available irl).
I focus on fighting multiple enemies at a time and adding fitting music
. Theres no rock music involved so im going to have to dissapoint you if youre intothat
.
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1RctnzpKspQ heres the link! Enjoy
I like hoe someone makes a positive thread… But whiners immedietally fill t with negativity.
Seriously, do you have nothing better to do?
The thing i like most is not having go grind for gear and combat being skill based
Edit: and the purple butterflies and pretty graphics and sylvaris and amazing cloth design… I really cant just choose just 1 as my favourite
(edited by Alissah.9281)
Im going to have to agree with ryuujin here, the scepter is moetly useless. The only time i see people usin it is for the blocks, but the other skills dont really do much.
Staff works better with condition damage, but i use it for y power/shatter build aswell, for defensive purposes (especially phase retreat). Traited for illusion cooldown and staff cooldown phase retreat is on a 6 second cooldown!
If you cant decide what your build will be, you can go to the Spvp lobby and set your traits there for free, buy runes sigils and attributes for free and such. There are also some golems you can test your damage on.
3 staff clones attacking is pretty good damage imo, but less so in pve dungeons because youre going to hit bleed caps with others in the party etc.
In my signature i have some videos using the staff in a power build if youre interested
.
Tl;DR: the staff shines for its defensive skills
As I often tell new mesmers – they’re basiclly un-thieves. A thief hides in the shadows and stabs you in the back. A mesmer hides in plain sight and stabs you in the front.
Good one xD
Looks like he was using the feared 30/30/30/30/30 build. All illusion summoning skills get a 80% cooldown reduction (on top of illusionist’s celerity), he moves 2 times as fast and endurance regenerates 3 times faster. Sadly, this build is only available to people with 5000 hours on mesmer. If you ask me its very unfair if they use it to kill people instead of helping.
Alternatively: he was just a very good shattercat with perfect cooldown management. Us mesmers have a very high skillcap, some can go full berserker (this explains the high damage you saw) but still use our skills in such a way to rarely get hit
.
If he was t using a focus than id have no idea hoe to get perma swiftness.
Phantasmal ritualist
Cooldown45/36 (is affected by illusionist’s celerity)
Summon a phantasmal ritualist that creates a circle of chaos around your target. On creation foes are immobilized, then the circle pulses cripple, vulnerability and 2 random short conditions per second. Allies gain a random boon per pulse. Lingers for 5 seconds. Foes that exit the circle are dazed.
Vulnerality: 1 stack, 15 seconds
Cripple: 1 second
Dazed: 1 second
Random conditions: weakness (3s), 3 vulnerability (5s), chilled (1s), poisoned (2s), crippled (1.5s), confusion (3 stacks, 3s), blind (2s).
Random boons: swiftness (2s), aegis (2s), protection (1s), vigor (3s), retaliation (3s).
Range (summon): 900
Range (phantasm attack): 600
Chaos circle radius: same as chaos storm
Chaos circle activation time: 1.5 (phantasm charges the attack before it happens, can be interupted, a bright purple light comes of the phantasm, similar to moa morph)
Chaos circle cooldown: 8.5
Unblockable (the initial immobilize can be dodged)
:)
(edited by Alissah.9281)
@seras
In general you want to shatter clones and leave phantasms alive. When thr mob is about to die hou can finish it a bit faster with mind wrack. If your phantasm is about to die you might aswell shatter it for some bonus damage. If you choose to play a shatter build (you cant really untill level 60) then you usually let a phantasm do 1 attack, and then shatter it.
Youll also want to shatter if you have 3 clones because they cant do alot for you anyway.
Hope this helps,
Alissah
You can also enter a portal during a finisher, and portal back near the end
.
Yesterday ive been noticing somethig strange though… Sometimes the cooldown time after a portal is lower than notmal, it used to be a few seconds after you can go back, but sometimes it was nearly instant :O. Maybe it was just my lagg
.
I dont think distortion was changed
I only ever swap weapons when i go to wvw from pve or vice versa. In pve i swap staff to greatsword… And ehen i go wvw i swap back
. Sometimes i swap focus for sword depending on my mood, all i takes is a right and left click. Doesnt bother me that much :p.
especially in WvW where the focus is almost required for traveling the map but is not that useful in 1v1 or 1v2 fights.
The focus is my favourite offhand for group fights
. I only use pistol or sword for single targets and pve bosses.
In my signature is a link with some videos using the focus if youre interested
.
Cheers,
Alissah
Unidentified underwear…. XD
It just sounded silly to me, but im all in for having new underwear/swimsuits. Afe a while iget a bit sick of thr ugly yellow from humans qnd the cheap brown things from norns… I also wouldnt mind being able to dye my sylvari’s leaves to match the hair color
.
I dont think id put human underwear on my sylvari though, just new colors!
I never had an issue with sylvari running :o and i played it since the 3rd beta
. I like the sylvari animations, dont change
I really love this set
so glad they finally put this in ^__^.
My vote goes to mesmer
Even if your pug team is total chaos, but still fighting on a point, then you can make quite a big difference without havig to rely on your team to much.
Supporting a fight on a point looks something like this: pick a target, burst it while evading all damage, jump out of the fight if he survived, wait for burst to recharge, repreat. Stealth and teleports will keep the enemy team focusin your team so you can freely spectate and burst low targets or weak targets down
. If you lose the fight you have amazing mobilty to escape and go to another point.
Hope this helps,
Alissah
With setting how many trait points are available i meant:
Put it on 0, all players would play with no traits at all. Put it on 150, and people would be able to use the feared 30/30/30/30/30 build that forum whiners speak so highly off.
Just a fun option for guild events, nothing serious or anything
I think the siil of might alreay gives 3 stacks of might. As an ele or engi you proc it each time you swap kit or attunement!
Sigil of sanctuary – at 26 stacks: makes you invulnerable the next time you go down, and heals you for 5% hp.
Sigil of rage – quicknes in general is kind of useless to me, the proc is also ery unteliable and disables other sigils from proccing.
Maybe hange it to: gain quickness when attacking an enemy below 25% health?
Sigil of debility and other condition duraction sigils – chosen condition lasts 10% longer and has a chance to be applied on critical hits.
I think there should be sigils that improve boon duration! A permanent one and a stacking one, maybe a sigil for condioon duration too.
Sigil of generosity has the effect of purity and nulificayion combined, and even better. I wish they would add generosity and new sigils to spvp aswell :/.
Sigil of water – its a very simple and useless effect thats just not fun/unique. I would never notice healing in gw2, unless its alot like when im on my ele. No idea hoe to buf this one, except for making it alot of healing or judt hangig the effect.
Hello fellows.
Some of you may have noticed, anyway I did, that all the viable builds in tournaments are at the same time the most simple and easy-to-play ones.
There is no skill-requireing build in the game at the moment wich can compete with the usual button masher builds following simple rotations.Exapmples:
Mesmer -> Shatter. Noone can tell me that playing a shatter mesmer requires the faintest amount of skill. I´m playing one myself and it didnt take me 10 minutes to become efficient with it and its – without exception – the same rotation all over again. There is no other mesmer build as viable in tournament pvp.
Beastmaster Ranger Can build extremely tanky while having no impact on the pets damage. Coupled with the huge amount of cc it makes playing this build totally overpowered (my opinion here) while not relying on any kind of player skill but spamming 1 and evade skills while dodging anytime possible.
Hybrid Elementalist: Just spam all the weapon skills on cooldown and you are an addition to the team.
HGH-Grenade Engineer: Like elementalist. This build actually incourages wasting utillity skills in order do stack might. And noone can tell me that hitting with grenades is a skillshot, as stated by arenanet.
Best of luck trying to get this community forum to understand all of these “low skill, high reward” builds. I have been trying to get people to understand the cheesiness of it for a while and all they do is mock.
Some people believe it actually takes skill to hit with grenades -_-….
Better yet, some still claim that a Shatter Mesmer is hard to play….I agree OP, things need to change to make this game better but I am doubtful at 8 months in for the change to happen.
Ill just say the same to you as i do to everyone who claims shater mesmer is easy:
Find a good shatter mesmer and duel them.
Rhen you can judge abou how low the skill cap is and how easy it is to faceroll >_>
All professions have a high skill cap, and any experienced player will destroy a new player.
Alternatively: click the link in my video and try to do the exact same, fight multiple at a time with your “lolzeasymodespec”.
If you got tourney tokens from rank chests that would most likely be a bug.
Tourney tokes come from salvaged items from tourney wins
.
I think it would be cool if hey gave legendaries to top teams/players in official tournaments and events and stuff.
As long as its still rare and not everyone can et them by farming. Currently all pvp rewards are farmed, a total noob could get rank 80 eventually and all achievements.
I hope they add a way to reward skill instead of farmers soon.
Maybe this: every week a special tournament is held where alot of teams do conquest, the wijning team all gets a legendary for a week(untill the next tournament).
When theres a hgh engi on a higher elevation, i target them and pull them off. In the few seconds the engi is surprised se burthim down
.
Works every time!
You ofcourse also have team retaliation, which destroys nade engis, and reflection skills.
Necromancers cant stealth
And yes, target dropping is an advantage, but only if used right, not sure what youre tryin to say here, did you assume being invisible to enemies isnt an advantage?

Heres a list of experienced players you van whisper for help. Its actually stickied on this forum but people still miss it :/.
If you need any mesmer related help you can also whisper me in game if im online

7: i dont have this problem, there may be several reasons why you think this, and there may be a vey easy solution to it.
Maybe you feel vulnerable when theres alot of people around? You dont know exaty what to do when thydecide to focus you etc.
If thats the problem, try playing on a 5vs5 map instead of 8vs8. Maybe there are ven custom arenas with even less players!
I used to feel vulnerable in big fights, but what i did was: instead of focussing on killing people, i jus focussed on surviving and dodging and escaping and stuff. I swapped offensive skills for defensive skills, like invulnerability and stealth and teleports.
After i got used to moving around it became much better, i even got to a point where i feel invincible in combat (even though i still die)
.
You can also try using an amulet with more defensive stats instead of offensive!
8: i think aoes is a good thing. In a team game like conquest you have to stay close to your team, but aoes and cleaves punish you for being too close. It adds a lot of depth (in tourney) if you ask me.
Example: a teammate goes down, an enemy warrior starts using hundred blades on him/her.
If i choose to revive i take massive damage or may een br insta gibbed. I could interupt the warrior and revive. I could also pull the warrior away, thrn immobilize him, and then burst im and hope he has play defensive due to pressure, of the burst downs him.
At the same time when the warrior sees me approahing he can pop ballanced stance, making me unable to interupt. I can still use mass invisibility on my downed teammate to revive im/her. Or i can burst the warrior if hes very glassy.
9: i love burst damage. Its one of the things that make te combat feel so much more action packed. Especially when you run berserker or another low defense amulet.
I dont think bg old bomb or chruning earth is burst damage, its jus alot of damage in a single skill i think. Boh of those are very easy to dodge aswell.
A duel between 2 low defense players is just my favourite kind of duel. It could be over for anyone in a matter of seconds, but of theyre skilled players then it wont, because they have a strategy and know exactly what to do when the other does a certain move.
Ive duelled glass canon mesmers, as a glass cannon mesmer that literally took 15 minutes, and then the game was over
. We didnt have alot of healing or defense, instead we countered each other perfectly whenever someone attempted a burst.
Without burst damage he combat would be alot less fun in my oppinion.
Cheers,
Alissah
Im just going to share my oppinion here, i dont mean to personally attack you or anything like that:
1: some builds require more impovisation than others, like a double kit engineer. I guess it may look spammy because theyre nver doing nothing, always switching kits etc, but good engineers never “spam”
. They use alot of skills but dont use the same one over and over.
I myself, play a mesmer, and combat is much more “structured” for me. It looks like this: jump in the fight, do as much burst damage possible whilr evading hits, jump out, wait for burst to recharge and jump in again (sounds easier than it is).
Im using a berserker amulet, so a single mistake could mean its over for me, knowing this makes it much more action orienter and intense (for me atleast):).
2: “many players have to watch animations” i used to be one of those players. But after you get enough experience of a certain enemy, its more about predicting what theyre goin to do and preparing yourself, always be 2 steps ahead.
Example: im fighting a shatter mesmer, hes kitin me with hie staff, bu he switches to sword. I know hes going to use illusionary leap (immoilize) and follow up with a burst. I put my finger on my dodge and another on a teleport/invulnerability skill. When i see him leap i dodge, if i fail to dodge i quickly teleport away
.
If you know what uour enemy is going to do or try, its much easier to counter.
3: i think you mean traits. The only trait i think is overpowered is the ond that makes engineers completely immune to conditions on 25% health. If youre a condioon build ou have no way of countering it
.
4: i have to disagree with you here, in some sense. The progression is mainly personal. because gw2 has such a high skill cap, youre always progressing, you just may not notice
. Whenever a good player jumps in hot join or even tourney, they notice a huge skill difference between them and the average player. That skill difference is often so big you can literally face roll them, or even fight 1vs2! Its the same in WvW, i have some videos where i fight multiple at a time if youre interested
.
The ranking system is pretty bad, it rewards people who farm glory, but not good players.
Anet wanted to completely seperate Spvp from pve, im not sure how they would let it affect pve anyway
“Ranking up feels grindy”. I partiay agree here, it takes ages to rank up. But ranking up isnt a priority when i pvp. I focus on the fun, rankin up goes automatically
.
I find theres enough pretty light armor evenon rabbit level, and nowthey added the lvl1 pve set its even better imo.
If i get bored of my clothes i ca always just dye
.
5: i agree on the titles “in time anyone can get it”. Even in Spvp theres no way of identifying an average/good/very good/awesome player, except for testing them in conbat. I think i saw a dev say they wanted to give good players ways to express themselves, other than just ranks and titles that require you to farm. I really do hope they inplement his quickly, updates since laumch have been somewhat nonexistant/lackluster conpared to all the pve updates.
6: “100% of the time, there are no evironmen props you can take advatage of”
100% is verg exxagerated
Example: inthe forest of nifhel at the henge is alot of terrain you can make use of, you just can do that and stand on the point. But standing on the point is a risk, ofcourse. Thats what you have bunkers for!
In hot join people just spam, i agree, but i dont really care. If they spam i just means it will be easier to burst them down (because theyre not paying attention)
.
In tournaments team fights are verh structured, for me they are atleast.
I usually support the mid point, i do that by dancing around it, around evironmental props and other things, while also calling targets and setting up bursts.
The keep is perfect for this: i jump in the fight, burst a certain target and teleport out. The teleport will take me vey close to th stairs where i can hide out of line of sight, so the enemy team will focus the bunker. Then when my burst recharged i jump in again and call new targets etc.
Did you ever play tourney instead of hot join? Find a group of friends/guild and see what the difference is between that and hot join. Theres much more strategy involved.
Yup they do! In my signature i have a link to my youtube channel, in the latest video i have a finisher active
" I like mobility, smooth AA, range, AOE, and the ability to easily queue up for dungeons. "
Sounds like a mesmer
.
Mesmers have the best/second best in combat mobility. Melee and range auto attacks cleave (hit 3 targets), they have aoe from auto attacks and from shatters, and ad far ad i know people like mesmers for their dungeon runs. In my signature is a link to some videos where i make use of the amazing mobility
.
In dungeons mesmers are effective at both melee and range, it just depends on what you feel like
.
And ive got to agree with the above posters, you have 5 character slots!
When i try a new profession i always just in spvp, so i can see what the builds look like at lvl80, try different traits and weapons and stuff.
