As long as players continue to see Sams drop during the boss events, they will be motivated to farm the chain to death in the hopes that they will win the 300g lottery. I did similar with the Pendant, running a number of characters once per day on my secondary machine.. 2 pendants and 3 months. In the past, we’ve typically been given fair warning about changes like this (example, glory boosters and buffs to karma jugs).

I don’t find it particularly considerate that we did not have the opportunity to convert remaining Enchanted Boosters to Karma boosters, before the change was made.

Therefore, I request to please have this returned, temporarily, to enable those of us who want to do the conversion to be able to.

I only have 20 enchanted boosters, so I’m feeling lucky that I didn’t change all of what I had before, as I was planning to do.

We’ve seen it countless times in their videos: devs do not care about guardians. They do not play them. They look bored every time they talk about them. The specialization does not make sense. The name does not make sense. During their meeting they probably spent 2 minutes finding a “gimmick” for the guardian specialization and then moved on to the other classes.

You’re just being a kitten. There is no feedback in this statement, nor is it based in any reality other than your temper tantrum.

As a (co-)main guardian, my disappointment in DH can be defined, and is based on the functionality and not that I have some delusional belief that the developer team has a disdain for a class.

Surround Sound not callibrated well

Allisa Wonderland.8192

Oh im using the logitech G430 headset. You can disable surround sound by going into the logitech software, icons at the bottom, left of settings, share and help are another three icons. Click the third that is customise surround sound and on the main area you see a toggle to enable or disable dolby surround (disable).

You’re right.. I forgot about this because it’s been so long.

1) When in Surround Mode, it’s great.

2) When Surround Mode is turned OFF in the Logitech drivers, UI is in my right ear only.

The reason that I consider the #2 option is because I want to play non-surround music on VLC, and the surround decoder makes a huge mess of it.

If I use the non-Logitech method (ie: remove USB adapter), the #2 option works fabulously.

So is Logitech not sending the proper information to the OS about its surround state?

I have the same experience when using my Logitech headphones as a USB device. Their “Gaming Software” doesn’t let me switch to non-surround, so the only workaround I’ve found is to remove the USB adapter and plug them directly into the onboard sound (yuck.)

The problem, for me, shows up primarily in User Interface sounds for the game. It is definitely quite annoying. I haven’t experienced this in other apps (though I haven’t done enough testing to confirm that it is limited to GW2)

We went through this already. The official stance is that verbally abusing players who are attempting to play the game as intended is grounds for infraction.

It’s good the OP brought this to the attention of the forum, because it is important that we know when this is happening.

I had no idea that there are still people trying to push event fails in Cursed Shore – it was so quiet since the Shelter event fiasco.

This all could have been easily quelled with that simple but too often unused word:

Ok yesterday I (been a super casual player and like before expresing how frustating is to be called pug and noob) run (yes i run) a succesfull TEQ, and yet come across the big one problem of this fight (what Anet already say their going to fix) and was the crits spot. The problem now is not even the organization part, and yes it is a pain in the kitten been there 1h to 45m before a event, and thats the real reason here.

lest face it, theres really few that made this kind of events for fun, every single MMO have the same treat… and thats the “LOOT”, invested time / loot is the only reazon you play a hard event (im not saying imposbile anymore). if your gonna spend 1h for the same loot you get before the patch them the reason behind making the event is really disapointing, so yes right now SW is a gold digger stuff (and actually is awesome), and i find that really good for all the players (veterans and new ones), cose again lest be real most people havent reach what you say "At a certain point, gold becomes irrelevant. " and are aiming that spot, so yes i really hope they keep events for people that like hard stuff and do it for fun, but i hope also that Anet do something about the loot

I agree that loot per minute appears to be the prevailing viewpoint, and will also admit I do promote that attitude for people who have a high cost goal they want to achieve (ex: legendary).

My view is that it’s impossible to consistently balance loot with effort, and there will always be optimal methods to earn it by (grinding) certain events. In this game, the hardest content (or longest time to complete) does not have the highest rewards in value.

But, there is the simple reward of satisfaction that you completed the event. This is the only place where I’ve ever found “hard” content, in any game, to have value. No amount of gold will ever overcome bashing one’s head against a challenge for days on end.. but when that first win comes, the feeling is EPIC.

Isn’t that why most people play video games? In my own 34 years of gaming, that’s the answer for me. Your mileage may vary significantly

Any chance of adjusting Noble Countess Dress?

The Monk outfit isn’t fixed, it’s made worse than before.

To avoid clipping they made the skirt wider and lowered the inner bottom of the skirt, now the monk outfit is the same as the Nobles with flying feet as you run.

After seeing the great effort to fix the Monk outfit (which apparently was in much worse shape), I am appealing to the outfit designers to remove the black “underskirt” that hangs below the dress of the Noble Count(ess) outfit.

Every other coat/dress/skirt outfit and armor that I see in the game (I could do screenshots, but you can see by looking in the gem store or trading post) has the thin material under which you can see the wearer’s body.

On the dress, that black..thing.. not only blocks the legs, but when you are wearing any light colour dress, looks like a big black blob of unsightly when running.

Please? Pretty please with sprinkles on top? It reminds me so much of the wedding dress in Guild Wars 1 that I wore all the time.

Thanks for reading and good luck on the expansion.

Of course it’s true – the mistake you made was compromising with the map you played in. Plan in advance who you want to fight it with and find out when their events fit your schedule. Unless you want to pop a tag and run the fight yourself, you can’t rely on Pugs to carry you – because they are doing the same thing.

Please don’t try to change the goalposts by bringing Silverwastes into this. BUT, if you must – then go to Silverwastes! Why complain about Teq when there is already a solution to your needs?

I go to Teq to win, I don’t give two bits about what’s in the chest.

Why does everything have to be about loot per time investment? At a certain point, gold becomes irrelevant.

If you want to succeed at Teq, join one of the groups who do it on a regular basis, do a tiny bit of research on how to play the event, then do it.

You, alone, are responsible for being a part of a successful event. Every other rationalization is another strawman.

1. Some builds better, but there is no gear check at the door.
2. Don’t need teamspeak
3. Don’t need to be IN a particular guild
4. Just listen.. and WP if you die.

That’s all there is to it.

For all the time spent typing angry rants on the forums, you could be watching some videos on how to do it and joining with a group of people who would love to have you be part of a successful kill.

Heck, during last night’s kill, we had 22 people on the zerg with 4 minutes to spawn. We were struggling to find people who wanted to try.

There is LOTS of room for you. Come! Have fun.

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Allisa Wonderland.8192

Allisa Wonderland.8192

I’m on my 11th time through. I started doing it for the gifts of exploration, but now I do it because:

1) Never feels like grinding events for loot
2) My material bank has everything in it.
3) Keys! – I got a 60g dye and a mini from one of my chests, last night. Not too bad.
4) The little explorer star
5) I STILL find new events and experiences on a regular basis.

Will it benefit me for HoT? I don’t really care – it’s fun for me to do now, and when the expansion hits, I’ll probably be more interested in doing those maps than going back through non-expansion Tyria again.. and there will probably be less people on the maps then, too.

In the two times I’ve failed since the change, I got 2 chests in one run and 3 chests in the second.

If it’s too much of a time investment, why try to force your needs down the throats of everyone else?

There is a huge amount of content in this game – if you think you’ve done it all, you’re not trying hard enough…. I will concede that if you are in the top 1% of achievement point hunters, you’ve definitely given the game your all, and that’s just the pain that being in the top face ths.. and I expect your /age demonstrates that you aren’t concerned that ArenaNET doesn’t supply enough content.

Still think that Teq is “too hard?” Maybe you should read all the threads complaining that the game is too easy. Listening to the map commander instead of crying in map chat about how unfair life is will present you with better results.

Works pretty much exactly the same as it does in the outside world.

I’ve read EVERY “hard” and “easy” thread – using my soapbox to push your own agenda is pointless. I’ve been Tequatl. Twice, this week. Why? Because as the great Commander Peter Quincy Taggert said:

“Never give up. Never surrender.”

Go play Pac Man past the apple levels for a bit, then come back and tell me how hard this game is.

I remember when this existed in WvW, and the team worked hard to solve the problem. It’s definitely back with a vengeance, and I expect that you are on the money – that this is the result of the condi “de-cap.”

I also agree that it is very frustrating to not be able to fire your skills.

The only solution, when this first existed, was to turn off auto attacks. It seems to help a bit, now, but still frustrating for our keyboards and mice to have to endure us pressing them hard in hopes it might help activate the skills

I have confidence that the problem will be resolved, since ArenaNET players face the same issues we do (that is, the servers are hosted in Texas and the offices in Seattle) I imagine they do feel the same pain and the right people are feeling the pressure from their staff-mates to optimize it.

I get it. I’m patient. But it’s still a pain in the painful spot.

Thank you for the beautiful new city. It’s not what I expected – I still like it.

I am a little concerned though about how heavy it is.

My PC is a monster i7-4.3ghz 32gb 2.3ghz ram striped SSD (1GB/s seq read) and DUAL 980’s, which outputs to a 4k 55" monitor at max 60Hz.

Early in the morning and late at night, I was still seeing my frame rates dipping into the 35-40 range while others maps were in the 70-100 range. I had to turn off my Ultra shadows because of intense microstuttering. Of course, it was packed full of people during the day, but barely any at the outlier times I checked. Also, within the city I was finding fast portions and slow ones.

SW and DryTop are so much more optimized than the original maps – but it feels like this is more akin to the original. Did leaving legacy assets in the map result in this? Or, is it just a matter of waiting for a few months for it to be cleaned up (which is fine, I get it).

Please tell me HoT maps will run faster. I have great sympathy with players who have more average performing machines.

Anyhow, this is meant as positive feedback. Love the Princess, happy to have something to eat the 80+ stacks of dragonite I have kicking around.
