100% Map completition for Legendarys

Only seven for me.. Wait, 5 plus 2 waiting for BG to be green again.
Sooo harrrrrrddd….
????
Some people spend their time on Facebook. Some people play chess, ,.. Just happens that my friends get social through this.
Resorting to personal insults tends to demonstrate a failure to have rational discourse to provide to a discussion. If a game is making you this mad, why are you playing? I mean..really, seriously. I’m not trying to troll anyone,
Life’s to short to rage over something you love, then insult others for claiming they also love it.
The idea of the game is to be playing for years… But no, everyone has to have it NOW NOW NOW. Why?
Because I don’t want to spend years obtaining armor through something as infuriating as crafting or RNG. I want to, you know, actually have fun and enjoy myself.[/quote]
Why should your lack of ability to manage your emotions be my problem? MMO is lifestyle, there are millions (literally) of games designed for a short atention span.
If you want to have fun and enjoy yourself in guild wars 2, aet your goals and live with it. As you may have read in the message I wrote.. I AM having fun and enjoying myself doing exactly what is infuriating to you,
Get yourself some Jedi training, dear.
Every time I watch a dev play in a live stream I understand some of the frustrating control design choices.
The gamepad generation ruins all.
Rebindable untargeting (anything but Double-ESC) and mouse that doesn’t disappear when you hold down right click to move with camera… Please, just that.. The rest I can live with.
The idea of the game is to be playing for years… But no, everyone has to have it NOW NOW NOW. Why?
I have 3 ascended armor sets, because I spent my time planning how to get them and enjoying the process. Every minute spent crying on the forums is a minute less earning your reward.
And Orr stinks. It’s horribly annoying to play in, the spawn rates are too fast, the aggro radius way too large, it’s generally unimaginative and uninspiring, and the rewards (especially after the loot nerf!) are poor. More of that theme will not be welcome…but at least I dont have to play it if it’s in a buy-to-play expansion!
/opinion ^^
Orr is one of my favourite regions. Lots of loot, challenging enemies and amazing, unique structures.

Definitely short bow on guardian, but hopefully not with such a horrific firing rate as currently exists in the thief implementation.
Grind?
Go play Pac Man, Space Invaders, Donkey Kong, or pretty much any of the video games that introduced the world to computer gaming. That is what grind is.
If you feel you are being forced to grind in this game.. You are either looking for grind, or just outright doing it wrong. With so much to do, I see this argument as insane.
I grind when I want. I “non-grind” when I want.
Like life, the right mantra may be:
“Play smarter, not harder.”
6300 hours
7 world completions
13 legendaries
3 ascended armor sers
one 30g random drop precursor (rage)
And I keep having fun every day by mixing it up.
It will be like the collection with the exotic items worth hundreds of gold each, and because of demand, greater total cost than the precursors ever reached

and..
and…
please, give hope…
EPIC quest.
Current precursor crash ending in 3… 2… 1…
Be aware that using celebrity names is contrary to terms of service,
I make characters that look either like my friends, or me… Except for the Asuran, of course. I dont know anyone with grey skin and pink eyes

there are no confirmations, but i wouldn’t count on it. i think ANet is staying out of underwater combat until they take the time to overhaul the whole thing.
shame, because the maguuma jungle should have plenty of water.
This is my fear, after seeing no water in the new maps (other than under map heh heh) and when it was removed from PvP.

I would say that the fact you can actually see bodies of water in the trailer confirms it.
Is there more than the one dramatic fly in to the golden temple(?) with the waterfalls? I will watch again when I am back home.
The one in southsun cove was retroactively changed to be level 45. I remember with great sadness.. I had many of them for my level 5 character at that beautiful node
If you’re making obsidian shards, go for Silverwastes. Open all the pirate chests you can find, and kill 2-3 monsters in each dynamic event before moving on to the next one. The map needs to have a good population, where events don’t fail.
A shard is worth 2100 karma, which is why this is a feasible option.
I farmed 500k over a one week period during Wintersday, and tried every way I could think of.
I also noticed that switching which method you use relieves tedium .. and… reduces the chance of diminishing returns on event rewards that show up after a long run of the same area.
The chance is identical for both. Do 10s for the first 70 and 1s after that. I’ve had plenty of experience, with over a thousand clovers made so far,

As I swam around Mount Maelstrom, this question came to mind.
I don’t mean rivers to run through, but deep water with combat?
For me, underwater exploration and six degree combat is a great joy!
Please no speculation or opinions here.
IF you are in the know, only yes or no is enough for me.. Though “a lot” or “a little” will also be appreciated
First time I made it. Sold!
Second time.. Equipped… Love…
The easiest way to make any content progressively harder is with alcohol. If you’re too young for that, find a dead map at off-peak hours and solo it
Speaking seriously. I appreciate your desire for harder content, but I can’t imagine a place where one side or the other doesn’t complain unless two difficulty levels van be implemented to satisfy both needs.
I know what you’re talking about. For a few minutes, I thought it was my monitor, but after some wandering around to check other areas, it appears that someone forgot to swap out some wintersday textures that had baked lighting from the light strings.
Perhaps the risk of running into legacy code from the old pvp forge?
Ooze is why I don’t do it. As much as I would like to see that removed, I won’t ask for it, because I understand why it’s there.
Perhaps the “problem” is that those who put in the effort, put in enough effort to have their methods perfected.. Leaving it no longer as a challenge.
So we end up with one group who don’t want to do it because of the learning curve, and another group who have left for another challenge.
Is there even a solution? Is it possible to have a loot table with no items less than green? Aetherized skins? (Shooting my own investment portfolio in the foot.. But it’s not about me.)
No adventure in PvP. I like adventure. I tried to get into it a few times un my 6000 plus hours, but endless repeating of the same few maps doesn’t do it for me. I can see why there are players who swear by it, but it’s just not my bag.
PvE is important because it is the biggest pool of “potential” PvP players: those who are already in and familiar with the game. The success of PvE benefits the PvP community.
Be encouraging and supportive of new blood, and your community will grow and flourish.
PvP player responses in this thread reinforce why I don’t play PvP.
I put the breather out of my mind after discovering it was a PvP reward. I respect their time and my own.
OP offers a valid criticism and is taking heat from PvP players who are projecting their gripes over previous decisions in that arena as justification for an implementation which doesn’t make sense.
PvP will have plenty of opportunities to grow and improve rewards. Trolling the OP is not going to improve the situation.
The economy mirrors reality. The average person works their butt off for a pittance, while the person keenly interested on making money takes up a profession, such as trading, which may not be their dream career, but is a means to that end.
Be wise and patient with the gold you earn and alas, you will have the wealth and toys you desire without relying on RNG or mindless farming.
Works for me. No gems to gold needed, no mystic toilet and only one precursor (rage, for 30g) in 6000 hours.
Article started out ok but turned op-ed, as I hoped it would not have.
20 characters now. No problems. Happy with what it is currently.
The reason I feel that an expansion is needed is because the living story hasn’t been able to deliver the common features that people are asking for.
If you review recent changes you will find it has, in fact, been able to deliver features that people asked for. I think what you mean is “it hasn’t delivered features that a handful of very vocal individuals have been fruitlessly demanding for years.”
Players have asked for new skills - can you point them out?
Players have asked for at least one new class to play - can you point this out?
Players have asked to play a new race - Can you point this out?
Players have asked for new dungeons - can you show me the way? I can’t seem to find it.
Players have asked for new crafting disciplines - Can you point this out?
Players have asked for new weapons to use - Can you point this out?
Players have asked for precursor crafting - Have you made any yet?
Players have asked for a new continent to experience - Can you give us directions?
Your turn to bestow on us, the “very vocal individuals” the features we have all asked for which were delivered.
I’m people, and I haven’t asked for any of these things.
Dear ArenaNET,
I can see the forest, and it is beautiful. Please keep on track and wear ear muffs. When the great demanding masses see it all come together, those who matter will get it.. And those who don’t.. don’t matter. I believe in the vision of Mr. O’, and am old enough to have the patience to see it through.
90% of the demands, requests, etc. I see on the forum make me fear that the leads might take them seriosusly.
Living story all the way.
Good link.. and I just noticed the stop-sign with the ! in it beside Reply. LOL at myself.
More proof that the forums are the worst place to visit when you want to learn about new video games… And I don’t mean the original post, but the shovelstorm of bitter vitriole following it.
Congratulations ArenaNET, WELL DESERVED.
I am finally seeing an organically growing, progressing world, where ArenaNET is still able to provide static, replayable instances for those who prefer that structure. I think they have it figured out now, and the next year is going to show us just how much the world can and will change, in a way where new players will have a plethora of back story to play through, while providing constant new and evolving experiences for long term players.
I applaud the developers and management for their willingness to push forth this bold vision, in the face of great conservative bias.
Thanks for the awesome game. Expand as it fits the context…
Josh is Wurmderful.
Because they forgot a basic rule of marketing: if you want to be successful, you do not give to your customers what YOU like, you give them what THEY like.
I think that the rule is:
“Don’t give them what they ask for, give them what they want.”
Not quite the same meaning,
OBS. definitely OBS. I dumped fraps like a bag of bricks after finding OBS. Shadowplay has never worked properly for me and requires the nvidia experience, which I find to be, going with the bag comparisons.. A bag of.. Kittens?
And by this, I am pointing toward the leakage of pvp into pve worlds. I am quite supportive of attempts to add more for pvp and wvw centric players in their respective modes.
Thanks for all thefrorts to make each Wintersday full of events and adventures! I appreciate that it is a haefty undertaking.
On that note, I am raising this question because it feels like there is a greater focus on PvP instead of content of the cooperative nature that Guild Wars prides itself in.
The snowball achievement raises my attention the most, after watching players camp magic snow mounds, waiting for others coming along to do their daily. I quickly learned to do the same thing.
Wasn’t it possible to use npc’s as targets last year? Was this changed to encourage more interaction?
My personal enjoyment feels greatly diminished this year, compared to previous, and not because of the “repeating” content.
I haven’t bothered to get Wintersday Daily completion yet, and I am a big AP completionist. (Btw, anyone who checks my account should be made aware that it’s not my main, so the AP you see is not reflective of my true amount.)
Is it just me? Are there co op events, other than the Dolyak escort and Toypocalypse (which uses the pvp engine, if I read right) I am missing out on?
(edited by Allisa Wonderland.8192)
I think you missed the point. One step forward two steps back.
After reading the OP’s post and Vayne’s response, I suggest that you are the one missing the point.
“White Knight” is being used as a derogatory against people who have aee enjoying the changes, which is the lowest form of argument. If you disagree with Vayne, you are welcome to contribute meaningful discourse to support your counter claim.
I am not 100% on board with every change made to the game, but I don’t expect that I should be. To blanket out this many claims against the evolution of the game really makes me think that the game must still be amazing compared to competing offerings, for people who find so much wrong to still invest large amounts of time in the game.
Just say NO to LA.
I enjoy seeing the population spread out over different cities now
I’m sorry the traits unlock system wasn’t there from the beginning, buthey, back then then the monsters were harder to kill at lower levels.
I have five mesmers since the “npe” and don’t find any problems there aren’t solutions available for by… Playing the adventure that the game is. Go outside, get some fresh air! Explore the great world of Tyria and kill new monsters.
Why can’t you play WvW without traits, anyhow? It will make you a better player.
Eotm uplevel zergs forever!
Wonderbear.
Because in opposite land….
Mouse left doubleclick. GW1 vetern… This is so much better once you accept the differences as an improvement.
I gave my staff 3 weeks off over the holidays just so I could make the most of Wintersday.
I have a few stacks of maize balm left.
Life’s tough, kill faster or somewhere you aren’t surrounded by people waiting to steal your candy corn.
This l2p moment brought to you by….
Having guild chat persist between character changes would be enough for me.
I don’t find the achievements unrewarding, and guaranteed ascended trinkets for each group.. What else can be offered better than that?
Breathe, go for a walk. Make some tea, then stop presuming you speak for everyone,
I have Eternity, Bifrost, Dreamer and Kudzu.. And the secret is.. I have have never seen any value in the stats changing. Zerk or assassin, done. Ascended or exotics on my stack of alts.. Everything beyond the footfalls is a pointless rationalization of (y)our ego.
