That is how it should be in my opinion.The problem is that people wants that support = healing. Well, sorry, but in this game support = reflects, blinds, aegis, alacrity, quickness, etc. That is how the game is designed and I love it for that.
On the other hand, pvp and WvW are 2/3 where you cna play the healer role.By the way, if you think that “all is dps dps dps”, sorry, but you have been carried all this time.
We can tal,k and probably agree, about smarter AI, but that is another issue and has nothing to do about classical trinity or lack of it.
the only skill you need in lupicus fight is ressing people fast enough when they fall. it is just putting lupicus on the wall and stack until it dies. there is no skill in this, just press 1 to 5, f for revive, end

i did it like this, we stacked on lupicus on the wall, the elementalists were dying like there is no tomorrow, me (mesmer) and the guardian ressing them. lupicus dead in about 20 seconds, i didn’t even realize the phase changing.
yes, well i self healed my self once.
i was so surprised lupicus could be fought like that i was disappointed that i spent so much time in the past fighting lupicus from range payng attention to all tells

why not insert a feature that make you change difficulty level inside the fractal instance?
currently we have to exit dessa’s lab to lion’s arch and re-enter.
how long do you want us to continue like that? especially since there is the possibility you bug out and to reach your party you have to relog, or being invited again or whatever.
please make this change!

when you say you don’t have to buy the mats but farm it you are forgetting that all those mats you are using and not selling plus the time gate are worth much more than just selling the mats and buying the precursor.
And the price currently is that high because “everybody” has got the same goal like you. If that weren’t the case the materials would be cheaper = you would get less potential gold for your node farming.
i don’t agree. i mean al lplayers not interested in legendary crafting are still using the same mats for other purposes. i don’t think this happen accidentally, i think this is what arenanet wanted from the beginning. keeping in check the price of some mats because they are needed in insane amount for various things, guild halls, legendary crafting, ascended gear, collections and so on.
i am in no rush of a new legendary weapon, i already have one. and i have no problem spending money on the tp to buy a new precursor or spending the same money to craft it. what i don’t understand is this: while for the brand new legendary the crafting is the only way, why on earth for the old ones the are 2 different way which have the same result but one of those even if it requires more time and effort it can be even more expensive?
what’s the point on chosing the crafting against the buy outright? if it is only for the collection and the flavor they add to the legendary… well i can just read it in the wiki!
my problem with all crafting in this game is that there is no reason to chose crafting over tp unless you are forced to do it like ascended gear or the new legendary.
it can cost more but at least give me a reason why i should pick it

precursor crafting was never meant to be a way to get the precursor cheaper than the tp it is just a way to get a precursor out of RNG something you can work towards rather than hoping it would randomly drop.
get it through your thick skulls devs never ever mentioned it to be cheap or free it was stated multiple times it will retain the cost of the precursor in the market.
there is already a way of getting precursor out of rng drops which is buy it. which require the same amount of effort/money as the crafting minus waiting for events to spawn. don’t forget that after you craft/buy your precursor you still have to farm the final recipe for the legendary itself.

I’m finding the new content very annoying, i see people say they are happy of “challenging” content but than a night fall in verdant brink for example they just kill the legendary weavern and never bother to kill the actual “challenging” bosses. the maps need a lfg tool to have a better experience which is stupid. when you need a lfg for pve events for me just means that the overflow system is flawed or the mechanics of the maps are flawed.
if you happen to be solo while a rally point is under attack is very difficoult for the event to succed.
i have no problem with challenging content at all, but when the challenge depends on numbers of people in the map, pulls, knockback, invisibility, immobilize mobs that make you fly off ledges (while you can’t enjoy the same experience for them), or in general the challenge depends on the fact that you have no control over your character i don’t find it challenging just arbitrarily punishing. try to challenge me with the same ability i have. because we as players cannot do to the mobs the same things they can do to us in terms of cc and cooldown on powerful skills.
this apply also to old content.
another boring thing are contested waypoints i understand why they do it in instances, but in pve it’s stupid that if you die you have to run miles before you can reach your friends again and you have to face swarms of mobs ccing you so much you probably won’t reach your friends at all.
end finally the maps are overcomplicated when you want just to move from point a to point b.
it is not challenging it is devs trolling us because we cannot stop whining about anything in this game

Hi everybody, this is a list of bugs I had with the new and old content:
1 i completed caledon forest with my elementalist and didn’t get any reward, the map was almost completed, i had to just fill a renown heart.
i also learned how to dodge, but it didn’t make the trick
2 my characters with 100% map completion when they go to dry top, silverwastes and southsun didn’t get the reward. i completed those maps before they gave any reward
3 i cannot attune an infused ring that i infused with gift of ascension and in fractal i’m not receiving any infused ring as reward, only the basic ascended version despite my personal reward being 43 or something. i don’t know if this is intended or not, and i don’t know if i can attune a normal ring and infuse it with gift of ascenscion later
4 ground target area appear to be green even if they are out of range. i know it’s intended for them not to work anymore when out of range, but it is confusing
i cannot think anything else for the moment, if i encounter another bug i will edit this message

although if you farmed all the mats and your armorsmith just clicked for you, why should you lose the armor if you leave the guild?
i’m totally in favor of sharing crafting disciplines with people who just don’t want to craft… i would like to see crafting more meaningful in terms of gameplay instead of how it is. why can’t i have a character in this game who just is a crafter, can sell powerful stuff or receive orders from players with associated mats.
or why isn’t there a npc able to craft ascended which can do so if you bring him the mats he need so nobody is forced to craft to 500?

i used 4 rare greatsword in the mystic toilet and got 1 rare rifle so there is a small chance is not the weapon of choice i guess?

you put 4 rare weapons in it for a little chance of an exotic weapon random or a random rare weapon.
if you put 4 of the same weapon you have a better chance of getting the same weapon rare or small to have the same weapon exotic.
you can also fill one of the slot with a mystic forgestone but it counts as a random weapon.
You can do the same with exotic weapons for an increased chance, although the precursor dropping chance are very small and for some reason there are some people reporting to get lots of those and some people who never had one in 3 years of gaming

i have not tried most of the elite specs so far but druid, chronomancer and tempest.
it depends on the kind of support you want to give.
the druid is the new dedicated healer he can transform into a celestial avatar so the weapon skill bar changes into healing skills. and the main staff healing is amazing.
if you want to support with utilities the chronomancer have wells that buffs allies, slows enemy and gives alacrity which shorten the cooldowns of allies very much.
and the tempest can be supportive using auras, shouts and healing skills for a very versitile amount of supporting skills.
also revenants seems to be very supportive in terms of healing, condition removing e boon sharing.
but the new thing is cc don’t forget it, when you break defiance bars most bosses stun or take additional damage and so far chronomancers and reapers are very good at it.
but mostly gw2 philosophy didn’t change with all classes you can support very well, it depends on how you want to do it.
if you are looking for a healer, the druid should be the class for you

for what i have played so far, each time you get one level in a mastery you also earn 1 mastery point. although i didn’t play that much in tyria these past few days so i wouldn’t know if doing events reward any points.
although in your achievement panel you can find some achievement will award you also with a mastery point. maybe you should try that.
if i understood correctly to unlock the mastery tracks you have to own HOT, so there are mastery nodes there

when i read long posts like this. cmplaining about things we didn’t even beta test, i think you people are all out of your mind. also you should know by now how gw2 works. and be zerker only won’t cut it can also mean that just before you can do damage you have to switch some lever in a perfect coordinated way or kill some other mob first, or simply figure out how to deal with a fight. much like the jade stage in fractals or a lot of fractals levels actually.
also the druid will do damage while healing, i don’t see how different is from other healing specializations we have right now. before you quit the game because druids at least try it once the next beta week end so you know what you are talking about instead of having it all figured it out in your head when it didn’t even happen yet

healing has always existed in gw2, the only difference between than and now is that everybody knows that the healing is incoming from a certain class. before the healing was incoming from whatever source and nobody cared. i don’t think the new druid specialization will be that different from a guardian or an ele or any class whit effective builds who also can heal. i don’t think the content of this game will actually change that much to bring back old mmorpg habits. it is just evolving toward something which is not pure damage only, but also sustained damage, good supporting, effective healing. which is good, because you can try different roles while never switching class. of course there will be new metas and new elitists who believe they know better and will kick the hell out of people who don’t google their builds. but you see the problem is never the game, but the people who play it.

guys, you have no idea how good is to be in a guild were the word gay is not used as an insult. or where you can speak about something else besides boobs, and where women can play without being harassed with sentences like “go to the kitchen”.

well, this bring up an old and fascinating theme.
one part of me would like to see orr cleansed, the land flourishing again, maybe see some ghosts, but not horrible risens. same reason i love to see Lion’s Arch destroyed or back than just the fountain being destroyed and rebuild over and over again. same goes with kessex hill and the toxic spores now lingering there. i like this because every little detail changing in the world it measn the world evolve and it’s not stuck in time. the players become storytellers and tell the new people coming in the game how was it back then when in kessex hill the lake was blu and beautiful but dangerous since the kraits living there would try to enslave quaggans and human alike.
i loved the karka invasion being a one time only big event.
although part of me is worried that this kind of evolution in the world is a risk when you cannot be there to see it, and you arrive just for the aftermath. i lost part of the leaving story part 1 and that is gone for ever for me, i will never be able to witness those events again.
i don’t know how i would feel as a new player seeing orr completely cleansed. or as a veteran not doing orr events ever again.
the living story season 2 kind of does this right. i would like the rest of the game be like that. replayable instances where i can witness how things were before the changes. and yet something doesn’t click.
for example wuould i want the zephirites to be back? yes. wouldn’t be odd to do events in drytop? yes.
would i like dry top with no zephirite sanctum wreaked to pieces? i really don’t know.
i’m aware having a choice in that matter is not possible as we are suppose to live in the same world and not in an istanced one.
so i’ll accept whatever arenanet decides on this

i think the asura are dangerous creatures if left unchecked. they use to blame the inquest for anything but the inquest are asura with even less moral restrains.
we tend to excuse the asuras because they give us nice things such as teleportation for free with the gates and teleportation for a fee when we use waypoints, making our world easy to travel and less dangerous. but i wonder what kind of experiments did the asura to learn how to make matter travel far distances? i wouldn’t be surprised at all if they made experiments on living creature before knowing they could have good results. even taimi, which is the youngest asura genious we know of, she sees the chance to get us all killed by some experiment gone wrong as something you can joke about, she often defended scarlet studies even when they were shady at best.
the thought of being alone in a room with an asura scare me more than being alone with a sylvari which are dragon minions

i think it is a serious problem that you can harvest copper at level 80, but you can find only your level of clothes and leather unless you bend the rules or salvage low level clothes. it is stupid and should be addressed

i’ve always wondered why in this game you find nodes only of mineral and woods and food.
you can cook, but you can’t create butter or chocolate, for all that matters you can’t even milk a cow, you only get to buy it. there are no scraps sellers in this world.
i’m not saying they should pay attention to every crafting details, even if i would really love it. although if in this world only minerals and wood can be harvested, than tyrian culture as a whole should be entirely different. we should wear dresses made by foils of metals or medium armour crafted with some soft flexible wood.
you now. this thread is bothering me too much…
there is no single linen plant in this world, maybe we should stop our industrialization and care more for nature

honestly i wouldn’t mind if i could chose female outfit for my male character too, especially dwayna, the all point of the outfit was to be like the avatar of the goddess (does balthazar regalia look different on women?) instead we had this bulky outfit way worst than the female counterpart. if shun of saint seya can be andromeda, than i can be dwayna

Gw2 used to have a larger aoe cap during launch, but they reduced it and one reason for it was the lag issue if I’m correct.
The AoE cap has been in the game since the betas.
not true, there was maybe a larger aoe cap, but definitely you weren’t limited to 5 people. i could give the time warp buff to all people in it, not just 5. and the aoe from the long bow with my ranger appeared to hit anybody in it, not only 5 people, same for the ele’s staff.
there is also a video on you tube of 4 people destroyng an entire zerg thanks to their aoe, (also the zerg was really stupid), but they could definitely hit more than 5 people at a time)

whenever i try to dress my norn there is nothing i can think of that make look like he is not fat, and i chose the skinniest of them all.

What we had were two systems that should have been using two different currencies, and now they do. Every source that used to give scrolls of knowledge will now give spirit shards, which Miyani will accept for her materials. A few things will change to accommodate this split:
Tomes of knowledge will level you up if you are under level 80 and give one spirit shard if you’ve reached level 80.
Writs of experience can only be used if you’re under level 80, and they can be traded in to Miyani for a tome of knowledge at a rate of 20 writs per tome.
Leveling up after level 80 no longer grants skill points, but level 80 characters will be able to loot spirit shards off of monsters.
Any scrolls of knowledge that you have in your possession will automatically be converted to spirit shards, and any source that used to award scrolls of knowledge will now grant spirit shards.
so why are you bothered that the new currency will be rare? with all the skill scrolls dropping as a guaranteed (keyword) drop?
just reading this i know 3 things:
after level 80 i will progress differently and more interestingly than i do now.
i don’t have to worry for the new currency since i’ll be full of it from the very beginning.
i don’t need to much of that currency since miyani’s item can be acquired for the same amount of spirit shards that used to be skill point.

they never resets already accomplished goals on character. as i’m told they did it only once about fractals.
i had all of the traits unlocked regularly on all of my character and when they changed the sysitem the the one we have now, my traits stayed as they were. only the new xiii traits are to be unlocked

i hate kormir, she will never be a goddes in my eyes and also i blame her for disappearence og gods from tyria. think about it, when there was at least one evil god, the others felt responsible and stayed in tyria to help or to bestow their powers, now the kitten as ascended to godhood on my watch (while i was ready to make that jump to be the new evil god), gods disappeared, we made a statue for her and we never saw any god anymore…
there is no needs for gods if there is no evil

i never even watched my exp bar since a very long time. at least know it will have a new meaning.
so i guess you cannot make everybody happy, but as i understand it, really few people even cared about experience points since it was pretty useless once you unlocked all the skills, and i never had a shortage of skill points to buy stuff from miyani and same is for most of people. i think the changes will open room for improvement and more things to do with exp. i’m very happy about masteries

i don’t think they’ll roll back character leveled by tomes or other means, it says clearly that you can use tomes for level character under lv 80 with those, and even use writs of experience to have tomes in exchange.
that said what i wonder is. how about new skills? how do we will unlock them once we are lv 80? aren’t they going to add any more skills in the game in the future for example with all the elite specializations? how do we pay for those skills?
i know there are hero points, do they mean for us to collect hero challenges in order to unlock the new skills?
I really loved to use skill scrolls to have new points so i didn’t have to explore all the hero challenges in order to unlock all the skills available or just downright gain skill points when i leveled up after lv 80.

people always ask for harder content and than they skip all dungeons (i.e. in arah you can now do only the boss fights), find the perfect stack point everywhere, never try to beat a champion alone, always asking for mesmer portal at the very sign of jumping and never tried to kill alpha in COE ranged. the harder content is there, but no one wants to run it.
edit: not to mention exploiting bugs in order to do things

who cares if in our mithology a revenant is an evil undead… i don’t think tyria mithology needs to be mixed with our. it’s just a name for something it didn’t existed before inspired by a caracters who actually returns from the mists…
i think we can’t really judge an entire class just because we know what their name means in our mithology. just see what they can do when info will be released than we can talk
