i did it, miraculously, i run from the right side of the stairs, it triggers just one catapult (wich i destroyed since fortunately i’m a ranger and can hit from very far), dodging every few steps whenever the endurance allowed me, spamming my fastest healing skill, and traps behind me so to slow mobs, cursing all of the gods in the game, whishing for perfect invisibility, tryed a lot, died even more, but eventually i made it. i was so mad just the thoughts of people running through there with ease still make my stomach hurts

oh i like the idea… it is very useful imo

i thought legendaries have same stats as exotic… and people bother to have legendaries just because they LOOK like Awesome with unic FX…
wouldn’t be a huge waste of money and time to replace a legendary with the look of a common rare or exotic appearance?
and when legendaries will have ascended stats, i bet we can all have ascended gear like we all have exotic now…

once the legendary is sold, what will the seller do with all that money? we use money to farm legendaries so we can sell them to have money back?

or maybe i am so naive i can’t see the point here?

why not to roll a ranger? your pet will never leave your side unless you decide it so, also in jumping puzzle they like to get in your way^^

i miss my spamming spirit ritualist too, i rolled a ranger for this reason, but the ranger spirits don’t fullfill my expectation, i don’t feel magical at all with the ranger, i like it, but the mesmer it’s someway more similar to the ritualist than the ranger… i rolled a mesmer too, but still i don’t feel close enough…
though i wonder how a ritualist would be in this game if not a combination of ranger/mesmer? and why bother implement a class that in some way already exist?

i also fall miserable all over the places, but i become stubborn when i find one and i must complete it… the only thought to come back to a map just because i have still to complete the jumping puzzles makes me shiver… but, if i am alone, i have no one waiting for me at the end of the puzzles, and platform won’t fall after seconds in the end i can do it… what it annoys me the most are the jumping and the dodging in some dungeons fractals or citadel of flame, that make me suffer because usually people have to wait for me and that stress me a lot (expecially with random people), i feel like when i was an unexperienced monk in gw1 pvp dying in 2 seconds and be blamed for failure…

since it’s still possible to trade by mail, i don’t see how actually implement a real trade could be raise the trade spam…
no one in my server is spamming for trade, but i bet you can still ask a person to sell you something and do it by mail right?
i noticed it’s almost a must to link in the chat box the loot you found in a chest, this reason alone would allow me if interested to whisper to that person and ask for a trade… so what is the problem to add a feature for people who ask it for the sake of role playing?

and besides, i like people role playing around me ^^

you can key bind town clothes, please check you key binding options, i found just a button there the other day, i bound it to mi right alt and now i am an happy tyrian

me too, oh it would be very new, since i tryed staff and i feel a snail, i tryed greatsword and i feel overwhelmed in short range, currently i am happy only with scepter/focus, sword/sword at least in pve, i fear this combination in wvw

if i remember correctly the orders wouldn’t allow you to preview the gears even before, they didn’t even show the buy panel like cultural armors

well you have my blessing and my +1 already, this feature would give you at least the choice about what to do and i am always up for freedom of choice in every aspect of a game play.

agree! and also a profession oriented talking would be nice too, i hate when i pick a scholar profession and i’m talked like i am a stupid hack/slash slayer with no true understanding about magic…

i think truth is most of us can craft/buy/farm gear with the stats we want easily, but we play very hard to get just that skin that is perfect for us

and besides a lot of people just use the skin of a gear overwriting the stats of gears of choice.
for example i use a tier 1 sylvari cultural armor as skin, but my equipment is far way better than that…

i can easily agree, but unless you shift to a scholar profession (since you are a necro, but for every one that chose to shift the problem is the same) you throw away hours of farming for gears, you should start all over again and that’s the time you need to become lv 80… the only thing you will truly save times is the world completion (and the dye you learned for your main toon).
btw if you read the professions forum, no one is ever happy with his/her professions there is always someone willing to complain that will never be happy with anything at all.
i know that this seems to be unlikely now, but the game itself is really young, there will be a lot of changes, adjustments, improvements, and maybe also some annoying feature, but i think it’s a bit to early to jump at conclusions for an entire profession right now.
you could regret your changing profession and restart all over again with the old one…

this last patch for istance it seems to have answered to a lot of problem addressed by players (some very improvement where posted in suggestion board on this forum, i know couse i read a lot of them, and the patch it sounded kinda familiar when i saw the new features).

if they will ever implement a profession change, and you still want to shift to a new one i’m happy for you, what i said is just a different point of view, not a critic to your post or anything like that.

of course there is the invisible bag option for not selling the item, but i agree with OP, slots of not combat weapon sets could be very useful, also for other professions i might add, just for the sake of not opening the giant H panel (ie. some weapons you have to drag it to the correct slots or it could be overwrite your main hand weapon).

i run a very small guild, tiny tiny in comparisons to yours but we are starting to get large (at least for the numbers i am used to)…
i sometimes didn’t notice the new comer because i was in an istance or busy doing something else and i didn’t think of pressing G just because some of my officer could have guilded someone…
and that suck, as a leader i like to welcome new guildies, also if the log on message doesn’t pop, the guild chat may become just silent because no one knows istantly you are not alone there.
i now have the habit to press G as first thing as i log in so i can properly greet my guildmates… but it would be nice not to force to open every time that giant window (all windows in this game are giant imo).

i also dislike the multi guild representing system… what is the use of that?
if i chose a guild i stick with that unless it is unhealthy for my playstyle. i loved in gw1 the fact that when a toon get guilded all of your other alts were in the same guild too. it’s about loyality, but not very an issue.
in fact i don’t mind that much and i don’t care if my guild mates represent other guilds if sometimes they represent also mine.

here are some things i would like to see in the guild system:
- the MotD at logon would be very nice (and also useful)
- send mail to all guild members (it is a pain in the you know where now that we are few, i only can imagine with larger guilds)
- lower ranks allowed to invite without allowing them to promote themselves
- customizable guild emblems uploading a file or at least a lot of other options for guild emblem in game customization… i see a lot of twin emblems around the world…
- a guild hall would be awesome i miss so much my vabbian style one in gw1. oh i would like some new feature as well (not necessarily), for example a guild dungeon or guild meta events, a guild jumping puzzle even if i suck at jumping.
- alliances for easy party up and maybe sharing influence?
- better guild gear skins (a lot of the implemented one are simply ugly imo) or the chance to attach the guild emblem somewhere in the existing armor skins? with a flag like helms, back, and shoulders for hide/show purposes
- claiming posts in wvw shows only the emblem of a guild you have no way to know who’s holding what, and lot of guild share similar emblem to get things even more confusing (claiming should be also a status symbol, or simply advertising)
- in game voice chat maybe? like lotro or ddo? with a push to talk that works for mac users also, with no paying teamspeak (that is maybe more useful in a party than in guild, it could become messy^^)

two things i need for sure… one is my slingshot for my brat ranger and the other one is the princess wand for my very manly mesmer

it would be very nice, and it’s very good of you to take care like this of a guildmate!

though i run through a champion near a vista, my toons entered combat mode, so i couldn’t interact with the vista until the champion was out of range/defeated…
i had no choice, i tryed to shoot to the champion from a far away ramp, and i simply did it, it never attacked me from his distance, and never became invulnerable…
i don’t remember the map where i was maybe sparkfly fen, it was a krait witch. and i also looted her chest after

i ask for this since the first day i was able to style my toon…
i love my ranger but i don’t know how his legs are like, or his butt for that matter… there are a lot of skirtlike things in this game. even light and heavy have some nice chest piece but leggins with skirt… apparently we are not allowed to enjoy pants and trousers…

i can understand you… while i manage with a lot of time and nobody waiting for me to win static jumping puzzles, i feel a lot under pressure on doing the puzzles like clock tower, lost shore etc. etc.
when i am in a party in the fractals i feel stressed by jumps, as i am always the last player to go further i feel a little uneasy at everyone waiting for me… and that makes me fall even often…
well i guess i give up on those as i gave up on clock tower

also guardian hasn’t one

it would be just fine not to be accused of being a mean cruel dragon killer when other people just go there to farm his minions…
that should be fixed according to me…
edit: i mean i’m fine with a better reward for a good participation in the event, so at least people who just grind lodestones in claw of jormag event know that they will have a worse chest reward

i would love it too… expecially now that i have discovered a keybinding to switch istantly to town clothes without opening the hero panel

i think the problem with purchasable gold is: i have money to buy on tp whatever crafting mats (precursor, named etc. etc) i need for the new stat increasing shiny before non paying people would do with the normal grind wars2.

or i think this is the issue most people have in mind about gems/gold trading

i play since the 1st of october and as far as i checked (not to often i must say) i saw only the cost of 1 gem in gold increase and never the other way around… which means if we want to address an issue here: i’d rather not to spend my hard earned gold for let’s say a new bank slot even if i really need it, but i can always buy gems and become rich and also with a larger bank (note with a new contents come a lots of things that stacks just in the bank… even if there is a different way for the same kind of items to stack… ie. candy corn, shattering skulls, passiflora, karka shells etc, they are crafting mats, but if you want to keep it you have to use bank slots, which means if i want to keep it i have to buy bank slots or destroy/selling other items… there are a lot of dungeon currencies that cannot be walleted anywhere so you have to use bank slots… and each dungeon has its currencies… a lot of space used, then there is the pvp tickets, the badge of honor, the rare mats like lodestones and we could use some free space either, for cosmetics, boosts etc etc…. are we or are we not pushed in that direction someway? at least with bank which is the only problem i have until now?)

so as far as i am concerned i don’t care about gold, about grind, about farm, but sometimes it pops in my mind:

i don’t play gw1 since 2 years now… but i know if i want to play it, my gears are still max stats, and my characters are still competitive with players playing all the time (except they are good at play and i’m not anyway)… would this be happening in gw2?

if the answer is yes, i’ll take a deep breath, go on with my slow farmville gameplay (which i keep slow because i don’t want to reduce fun with a full time online farmer job), i’ll keep fighting jormag, run events, occasionally dungeons, wvwvw and maybe even a spvp (i already have one slot in that infamous bank for tickets i’ll never use) and no one will ask me to be fully ascended to play…
if the answer is no…. that keeps me far away from new content, or party play and there are only 3 solution to the problem:
1 i grind the fun out of the game
2 i buy gold from gems
3 i invoke the release of elder scroll on line hoping i won’t have the same problem (which is unlikely because no one seems to be able to think out of the grindbox)

not for personal experience. my boyfriend use to play as guardian and i think he can solo almost everything in pve i use a ranger and i soloed orr and cursed shore, but pay attention to people dropping aggro on you just for safe run…

or if you want to have just fun (we run dungeon, WvWvW, pve events etc) with a still tiny guild there is in whiteside ridge a GLBT guild named Rainbow Pride….

one lucky sod could craft at first attempt a precursor… what’s the difference?

i will simply state a fact… some people have to work for living, but they like playing a lot, they are interested in the game, the mechanic, the lore, the variety of aspects a game offers to its players and they want to be competitive, they want to be good at it even if they manage to play less than hardcore player whose parents forgive this much effort in a game instead of homeworks…
so why grown people that has to pay mmorpg for themselves and their bad at school children shouldn’t enjoy the game in the exact way hardcore players do?

Gw1 and i hope gw2 are that kind of game, if you miss for a couple of events, or you can’t play for a long time, the next time you relog you are not necessarily a skritt, maybe a rusty golem…

forgive my sarcasm, please don’t you start saying that i think all hardcore gamers have nothing better to do or they all are unforgiving, of course i know there are lots of exceptions…
i sometimes get mad becouse people get bored with something that others appreciate and before they go they put all efforts to ruin the experience of others, simply becouse they can’t go out of lion’s arch and be the perfect profession with perfect stats that kills everything single handed.

p.s. i run a dungeon with a player “too good too be true” i don’t even want to say hardcore because i never met someone so rude in all the server so far (sarcasm here too) and was an awful experience, there was a moment i wanted to kick myself out of the party in the middle of the battle… but i didn’t… so much for the not interested in what is going on here. it remembered me the attitude: always blame the monk and not yourself ever…

i would be so happy to play one of those…

we are plenty of stories in the dungeon runs, and events, but the rewarding is often disappointing…
i kill a fiery monster in the citadel of flame and all he has is nothing not even a loot or chest… why? and the previous boss were instead plenty of blue and green items… what do i do with blue and green item in a full set of exotic? i can’t even salvage ecto from them

what about a underworld like dungeon? a map where as difficoult it may be to be you can find ecto?
in gw1 you could even buy ecto from the mats merchants and still ecto was the second currency used by players all over the world

i soloed orr, it was a painful process rich of player leading aggro to me leaving me dead near a POI or a Waypoint i was trying to reach and never turn back to ress me. i hate that kind of players we could have help each other to get rid of mobs for just a second to catch a breath than go separate ways… and this is not going to happen there…
i used my resurrection orb just out of frustration in the labyrinth were the skill point is, i killed ton of mobs just in there and they were appearing over and over again it was so difficult but finally i did it and i will come back there only in party…

spoiler alert so if you didn’t complete the storyline quest in orr read at your own risk:

i wish after beating the game you could have the chance to access an istanced map with normal mob in it, after all, the dragon has been defeated and the land has been cleansed by that useless commander (why is he the main character in my story? why he has a magical weapon that should be meant for me? why as a sylvari ranger, i couldn’t perform a nature ritual to cleanse the land and he a necromancer can manage to do it with a great sword? a great magical sword that i could put to a much better use than he did?)

how can you report something so fast you can’t even target?
some weeks ago i found a pack of female norn rangers, all with their bear, speedy as super heroes, farming the hell out of orr, named ahgfsjafgkjsfgpaijf so you couldn’t even try to remember the exact name for the report, and i didn’t have even time to realize what was happening they dissappeared in the horizon and never had the chance to click on 1 of them again… not to mention the bears adding confusion to the targeting attempt.
how easy it could be if i could open a gm or even a live report and write, hi, i am in this map at this waypoint, i saw a bunch of suspicius female norn with their suspicious bears, running like there is no tomorrow named in such impossible fashion. could you check please?

about crafting, one thing i forgot.
what about crafting based on race? in addition of the skins we all already have it would be nice armor and weapon skins based on race… it could open the trading to some nice feature, since i am a sylvari if i want a glyphic bow i should ask an asura to craft one for me

english is not my mother tongue so i apologize since now about any mistake in my spelling and grammar.

i like the game as it is, but there are some things that could make me like the game even more.

Armor/weapons: i wish armor could not be level based, since we have 80 levels to go through, basically you change armor in a regular basis, crafted armors until exotic are often useless. i mean until you are under level 80 is even stupid to plan builds and stats, or at least it is in early levels. you can’t have a very effective armor/weapon set until the end game, this make you slaughter meal in WvWvW, and also in some maps in PvE.
i remember in gw1 you forget about the armor and weapon pretty fast, it was just a matter of fashion/upgrades/rarity. i really liked that way even if i am aware gw2 is a different game and i should not complain about it… since i am enjoying playing it a lot.

here is my solution… make armor and weapons based on rarity, if it is needed that low level character shouldn’t wear exotic since day one (even if second alts)… it means at level 30, when you unlock all the slots skills you can wear the max stat/protection/dps white armor and weapon, than it is a simple matter of progression… blue at 40, gold at 60, exotic and ascended at 80….

or can we all have armor weapons with no stats? just protection the rarer the higher?

i am cool with the runes slot! it would be nice if armor and weapon could be customized only with 1 or more rune slots in it, or i don’t know maybe a slot for rune, one for the medallion/life rune/insignia etc. etc.

Crafting: i like crafting a lot, it’s easy, not too much time consuming, and the crafted skins are very nice (but the medium that are all coats and i will always be an anticoat supporter…i want leather straps, i want suits, i want skin on male explorers too not only warriors and basically all women in the game… not to mention that imo almost all light and medium armor are ridiculous on charr i don’t even know where to start with the fashion disaster on that front).
can we have more fluff crafting? can we have some town clothes crafting? why a tailor shouldn’t be able to craft his own town clothes? and why a leather worker shouldn’t be able to craft shoes or the infamous coat to style up his life in LA?
can we craft armor skins? i mean same as the normal armor but without insignia.. i know there are a lot of lv125 crafting that requires low mats for insignia but skin crafting could open the way to much more content and contests…

Build: gw1 was all about variety, in every outpost i could reset my build and pretty easily load another one… i really loved that feature, i enjoyed that game in so many ways i can’t even remember my favorite build. and i didin’t need to create an alt to do so unless i was willing to play a different profession. and all of that was free of charge…
i will always like to try new combinations…
now, i don’t mind paying in game cash to do so, or being able to do so only in major cities and some open world surroundings… but can i have a build save and load feature?

forum: can we have a board labelled complains so i know where not to read?

for me reincarnation bonuses it means than in wvwvw good fighters would be just the ones who already played for a long time… no good at all…
you can easily beat up (or beaten up) a non lv 80 in wvwvw already don’t make it impossible for new carachter to partecipate

please i don’t want to worry about the energy stat too, we already have to worry of magic find, critical chance, critical damage, condition damage, the 4 main stat, healing power and health…
i wouldn’t even know what to sacrifice for energy…
i really like the way it is…

i am colorblind too but i see the ring on the floor my problem is with blue… and just some kind of plain red… i have this problem in a lot of games though so i easily understand your frustration
